"Time to die, little firefly. Your magicks and your mechanisms can't save you now.
No move. All attacks go on enemy “A” using Manyshot, Rapid Shot and Clustered Shots. As he is human, I can use my Hated Enemy special ability against him. So:
Attack 1: 12+19+4(favoured enemy)=AC 35, damage 2d8+6+8(favoured enemy)=25x2(Hated Enemy)=50 + 9 fire + 8 electricity.
Attack 2: 10+19+4=AC 33, damage 1d8+3+4=13 + 6 fire + 3 electricity.
Attack 3: 8+14+4=AC 24, damage 1d8+3+4=9 + 4 fire + 2 electricity.
Attack 4: 15+9+4=AC 28, damage 1d8+3+4=15 + 4 fire + 4 electricity.
Miss chances. 51 and up are hits:
Attack 1: 1d100 ⇒ 67
Attack 2: 1d100 ⇒ 31
Attack 3: 1d100 ⇒ 94
Attack 4: 1d100 ⇒ 86

Caster down with the first shot. You have a move action if you want it.
"Told ya, s@#&head." Grinning with satisfaction, Janosz makes his way around Gil, heading for the western wall of the chamber.
Move to K28 to I28 to H27. I'll try to make my way down the side of the room - the middle seems like a deathtrap.

Gil, Ez:
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22 to hit v Ez's flat-footed AC, damage 6d6 + 5d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 5, 3, 1) + (6, 4, 2, 4, 1) + 1 = 34 and, if that hits, Ez needs to make a DC 18 Fort save or he dies instantly (it's one of those "don't fail it" saves).
She then steps forward - still invisible - to loom over Janosz, flexing her claws.
She starts in I-J/20-21 and after firing moves to H-I/26-27. If Ez is still around he can have an AoO, assuming he has something he can AoO with.
There is a loud click.
Janosz, Perception check DC 55 (not a typo):
Ezreal Farlowe |
Ezreal is still looking back at Gil when he is tagged by an oversized crossbow bolt that sends him spinning like a pinata.
Once he stabilizes from the impact he wheezes, "Janosz! Look out!" and raises one hand to point at the empty space between them.
Fort vs DC 18: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 + Action Point: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9 = 18

34 damage
Aubrey- if pointing her direction is too much for a free action, let me know and I'll delete that.
Aubrey, Gil
Gelb |
The cowardly changeling continues to remain where he is as he cant see or hear over the flames and he has no wish to get burned going through the flames. He does ready himself should something pass through the flames that isn't a party member.
Gelb will delay and ready an action to use his wand if something crosses the wall of fire that isn't one of us.
Rod
Gil |
Gil steps back from the pillar and the unseen threat to K29 before casting glitterdust on the assassin. Since she can see the target, Gil will drop the spell directly on her while avoiding Janosz.
Will DC 18 to negate a round of blindness; no save for new glittery fashion statement
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Ezreal Farlowe |
Ezreal glides back throwing out both hands as jets of flame fill the space between him and the hag.

I'll leave Rod since Vatts had something in mind, but he should go next so as not to lose his action this round.

I'm not sure if it would require one check or one for each ray?

"G##+$@MIT! Where the hell did that come from?!" Clearly spooked, Janosz jumps back and fires wildly at the suddenly revealed hagsassin.
5' step to I28. All attacks go on on the hag using Point Blank Shot, Manyshot, Rapid Shot and Clustered Shots. As she is blind, I'll take my chances with an eventual AoO. So:
Attack 1: 10+19+1(PBS)=AC 30, damage 2d8+6+2(PBS)=17 + 10 fire + 7 electricity.
Attack 2: 11+19+1=AC 31, damage 1d8+3+1=7 + 6 fire + 2 electricity.
Attack 3: 13+14+1=AC 28, damage 1d8+3+1=9 + 3 fire + 5 electricity.
Attack 4: 12+9+1=AC 22, damage 1d8+3+1=8 + 1 fire + 3 electricity.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
She probably should have put her crossbow down, otherwise she might have got an AoO on Gil or Janosz. My mistake, guess she got over excited.
The hag is blasted, slashed, sizzled and punctured in a furious assault. She keels over like a falling tree.
Hag down.
The adventurers wait for the next assault, but nothing happens. The angel flickers and disappears, revealing that it obscured the doorway out of the chamber.
Janosz Frogshanks |
"HEY GELB! The hag's dead! It is safe to come out now."
"There's bound to be roughly ninety traps between us and the exit - if that really is the way out. So we need to be extraordinarily careful."
And we'll search the hagsassin's body while we debate strategy and the route to the door.
Ezreal Farlowe |
Ezreal glides over to the fallen caster, focuses on magical auras and touches down to begin stripping him of gear and rifling through his pockets.
"As far as I can tell, it was someone's generic idea of an angel without attention to specific detail. Since it vanished, I presume it was called up by either the hag or this guy and vanished without someone able to maintain it."

Ezreal glides over to the fallen caster, focuses on magical auras and touches down to begin stripping him of gear and rifling through his pockets.
Before Ezreal flies off, Rod heals the lot of us with two blasts of positive energy. Channel 1: 5d6=19 hit points. Channel 2: 5d6=18 hit points. Thus everybody regains 37 hp; are anyone besides Ez hurt after that?
Janosz Frogshanks |
"As far as I can tell, it was someone's generic idea of an angel without attention to specific detail. Since it vanished, I presume it was called up by either the hag or this guy and vanished without someone able to maintain it."
"Sounds like the magical effect that created the tracks in the dust back by the shrine of the reaper. Those tracks were just generic ideas of what tracks look like, rather than our actual footprints."
Gil |
"Give me a hand with her, would you? Her belt is enchanted. So is her crossbow and her armor, but I don't know that we will be able to use them or if we want to carry them."
No other items of value or interest? Oh, I see I failed to roll the check to search.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Ezreal Farlowe |
Ezreal unfurls each scroll and scans over the first lines before tucking them into his scroll case. He spends a little longer examining the belt while stripping it off the caster.
"Throw the oversized junk we can't use in Xativa's extradimensional pit. And this guy is going to be a lot easier to throw around than the hag if you want to go that way. Probably two hundred pounds lighter."
Spellcraft + Detect Magic on Belt: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29
Spellcraft,Decipher Scroll 1: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (2) + 21 = 23
Spellcraft,Decipher Scroll 2: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24
Spellcraft,Decipher Scroll 3: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37
With the nonlethal damage getting healed for free at the same time, Rod's channels left me only 1 down.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 Specifically to make sure I don't overlook a spell book if it didn't have an aura.
Janosz Frogshanks |
"Throw the oversized junk we can't use in Xativa's extradimensional pit. And this guy is going to be a lot easier to throw around than the hag if you want to go that way. Probably two hundred pounds lighter."
"That's true. I just really wanted to see the dead gal in the raw." Janosz flashes a quick grin. He is probably joking.
"Ez, can you drag-fly the dead guy over here? Nev and I will toss him forward like a sack of turnips, clearing the way to the door."
So, how about this - we make our way down the west side of the room by having me and Nev chuck the dead guy forward 10' at a time. If he triggers a trap, Gil and Gelb disarm it; if the trap obliterates the body, we'll saw the hagsassin's body in half and resume body-throwing.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Sawing the hag in half might take a bit of time.
Hag's gear:
Belt of Dexterity +2
Large Heavy Crossbow +1
Large Studded Leather Armour +1
Caster's gear:
Belt of Physical Might (+2 DEX, +2 CON)
Scroll of Dimension Door
Scroll of Dispel Magic
Scroll of Displacement
All scrolls CL 10
The body is quite better from being thrown repeatedly up the room, but the adventurers reach the far end without triggering any more unwelcome surprises.
OK, you are in the top left-hand corner of the map, in front of the fire bowl. You haven't approached the door yet.
Janosz Frogshanks |
Nevharath has a big ole magical falchion (even if he hasn't put it on his character sheet yet). He should make short work of the hag's midsection.
Traps: First of all, we check the pillar in J6 to make sure it does not have another of those foot-severing blade traps. Perception 11+23=34.
Secondly - is the fire actual flame, or is it a continual flame -type effect?
Once thst's safely out of the way, Janosz goes to J4 and then to K3 to take a closer look at the exit. Perception to spot new traps here 13+23=36.
Ezreal Farlowe |
Ezreal quickly strips off his own belt and buckles on the one from the fallen mage while Janosz and and Nevharath toss the body down the length of the room. He tosses his belt to Gil, "Try this on."
Equipped the belt of physical might. Removed belt of dexterity from my sheet and it looks like Gil doesn't have one so add that on.
I added the scrolls to my sheet also, but if Gil wants any let me know and we'll split them up.

I will defer to you on the scrolls. If you want them, hold onto them. Was your belt of dexterity of the +2 variety?
