I just finished reading that one to see what state we are in. It seems like Illes is in a good place to stay on hold right now and it might be better for me to start with just the one. I would like to get back in that one as well, but lets start over here first and RotRL will come to a better story point to jump back in sometime in the near future.
Btw regarding Hudak's new bow- if I remember correctly a medium character cannot use a large bow. Aside from the -2 penalty for size the weapon increases in usage category: light becomes one handed, one handed becomes two handed. A bow is already two handed so you can't use an oversized one. If we enlarge him though...
I checked in on Fates to see if he was interested or able to get back in over here. He can't access the site from work anymore and has 12-14 hour days. Home time is family and sleep. He was interested but not so sure he could actually do it.
I'll probably finish reading this thread tomorrow evening.

Resource Tracking:
Hps: 71/58 (-12 holy smite, -1 ghost musician)
APs: -1 (10/6)
Cha Damage: 3
Spells used:
Command undead
Dispel Magic
Empowered fireball
----------------
I had cast See Invisible in my last few posts (pukwudgie in the library). It would last for 110 minutes. Has that expired? Janosz picked up eyebite just a few minutes afterward with a 2 hour duration so they are on about the same time line.
Also rifling the spell component cabinet for costly components:
I don't have many spells that qualify.
Animate Dead Onyx Gems: 1d3 ⇒ 2 Are these 25 gp value gems and capable of only 1 hd animation each? The way the spells reads to me you can't use multiple gems to attain the HD of the creature since it says "AN onyx gem"
Magic Circle Against Evil requires powdered silver, but doesn't list a price or amount...
Identify 100 gp worth of powdered pearl dust: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Okay- I'll have to go back and puzzle through the theme of the temple explored so far as we go, but I'm caught up now.

Hey everyone. It's me! I'm not dead. Not biologically dead, anyway. Ithuriel contacted me a couple days ago and let me know that these threads were miraculously still alive. It's been months since I've been to Paizo at all since work keeps me INSANELY busy.
It's good stuff, though, a much-needed respite from the way my life had been going these last few years. That said, it is most unfortunate that I do not have the time to commit to the games that I once did. ESPECIALLY for Runzyl. There's just far, far too much math involved in playing that character at this level and my posts (before hitting submit) often looked like the chalkboard of a calculus class.
That said, I will be very sad that his story cannot continue further. Aubrey has done an exemplary job of bringing depth and grandeur to a character who is, in a mechanical sense, essentially a blender permanently set to 'frappe.'
It has been one of the best and most memorable campaigns I have ever participated in and it is with great reluctance that I take my leave, but I feel like the flow of the narrative will move along much better without me holding things back. I am greatly sorry, and I wish you all good gaming in the years to come!

Hey, Fatespinner, glad to hear your disappearance was intentional. It's always disturbing when someone just disappears. Were they ill? Did they get into an accident? Glad it's none of the above for you.
All the best, sir!

Hey Fatey, thanks for letting us know. I know myself that it can be a big effort to do these games and if you aren't feeling it or are tired, it can be a chore rather than a pleasure. If circumstances change you are always welcome back - Runzyl (and Vethran) has been an integral part of the campaign it there will always be welcome to return.

I'm back to about 70 hours a week again this week and with the car in for repairs have been falling asleep on long public transit commutes this week. So that's my slow response time at the moment. Next week is a little better and then to the islands in two weeks. I'll have wifi at the hotel so I'll be around, but man am I counting down the days.

And there it was - I am now Doctor Vattnisse. I would like to thank the lot of you for helping create a place that is consistently welcoming, stimulating and interesting; whenever things got rough and I needed a breath of sanity, I've always known that I could come here. Thanks for helping preserve my sense of fun and adventure - you've meant more to me than you know.
Now, let's go kill an orc and take its pie.

Pretty good. I can see myself buying the books once they come out. You can download the rules for free here.

I saw Necromancer Games has a KickStarter for the 5th Ed. I haven't paid any attention beyond that.

I think I'm too lazy to learn new rule sets without serious motivation these days. When I was in Paris I picked up the Eclipse Phase hardcover and while I like the setting and concept I just cannot sit down and bother to work through the rules. It might also be that what I little I have gleaned of the rules make it seem needlessly complicated.
So I probably won't do more than flip through 5th edition unless they start releasing mind blowing scenarios or campaign settings or over time the word of mouth becomes intriguing enough to overcome my laziness.

I've downloaded it and saved it to my computer, but I don't really like reading stuff online (and it's in portrait, unlike the online magazines, making it harder to read on a landscape monitor) and I don't fancy printing a load of pages given the cost of toner these days. I was also tired at the end of the day when I looked at it and didn't have the mental capacity to take it in. But what I did see seemed quite pared down compared to 4e. But, in general, I'm kinda with Ithers on this one - I've really got to be motivated to learn a new system, especially as I game already in two in the shape of PF and 4e. If I end up playing it will probably come down to whether my real life guys want to - which is possibly unlikely, given that we have invested in 4e.

I would think it is significantly less. You have good vocabulary and writing skills, and should cruise through those parts. I stuggle with advanced math, but if you are proficient with algebra and geometry, you'll be fine. I don't get stressed easily, so I'm fine with the time management aspect of the test, but a lot of people crack under the time pressure. To me, the biggest annoyance (beside my feeble math skills) was that I couldn't bring a coke and a candy bar into the testing area and thus had to go outside every time I needed a pick-me-up.
Having said that, the correct answer is obviously that we do not have enough information to compare the two pains-in-asses, as there are too many unknown variables in play.

posting this in all 28 of my games (although some of them are dead, i am pretty sure... and others are quite slow so my absence will not be missed overmuch):
There are two hurricanes heading for Hawaii, where I live. One is supposed to land on Friday after being downgraded to a tropical depression, the other is supposed to land Sunday with experts unsure as to how much it'll be downgraded after colliding with the mountains.
I'm sure everything will be fine, so no need to worry. People are freaking out for some reason, but I remain in a state of relative readiness.
I anticipate a loss of internet, at a minimum (they can barely keep it together under optimal conditions). Likely loss of power as well. A time without electricity could last anywhere from four days to four months (with some time around one to two weeks being more realistic).
I'll be on between now and then, but if i just disappear, check the news, hahaha.
