Please show me where he has threatened Kyrie. I went back over all of his posts in this 'encounter' and can't find any violent threat made to her. The closest I found was him saying he wouldn't travel with drunks.
When a musclebound brawler like Gorax says "Perhaps you didn't hear me..." in the kind of beligerent tone that pose made clear he was using when after your response made it exceptionally clear that you understood exactly what he said and just disagree with it, a threat of violence is pretty much implicit. You don't have to say it out loud, people /will/ infer it simply from your growling and looming posture.
As for the second time, look at the pose that set the /current/ incident off:
"He looks accusing round the table, not sure who or where the smell comes from. His eyes are wide, his jaw set and he leans across the table, threateningly, "If I can smell drink, then it is making its invidious incursions into your brains, making your decisions weak and actions slowed. It is a devil working inside you, bringing destruction to you and your friends." He looks intently into each and everyone's eyes, one at a time, trying to find the culprit."
Again, when you're a big musclebound oaf like Gorax is hell bent on playing, that kind of attitude pretty much implies threats of violence.
Kyrie has tried being reasonable twice now, and both times Gorax broke off the discussion the moment the argument appeared not to be going his way. Sia tried an even more patient explanation, and he deliberately tuned her out. Between the implied threats, the refusal to engage in any kind of meaningful discussion and the insults to her family, Kyrie doesn't believe in waiting for him to actually follow through anymore.
... Please, PLEASE tell me you're planning on having Gorax have some form of epiphany while he tries to get to sleep, because at this point Kyrie no longer considers him safe to travel with.
Gorax will no doubt have soften his attitudes over the course of the adventure, but as an abused child his attitudes are fairly deep seated. Unfortunately each time he starts getting close to another character to move his story on, that character leaves the story for one reason or another...1st it was Yossain, then Cal.... each time Gorax had to start his storyline again....
You might like to explain to Gorax your relationship to your god and your parents and inns, neither of these Kyrie attempted to do yet. So Gorax doesn't know any of Kyrie's background, other than she is a friend of Sia.
Kyrie is aware Gorax has been abused. She thinks it goes quite a long way toward explaining his ignorance and bullying attitudes. That doesn't change the fact that after the third attempt at reasoning and the second implied threat of violence she's no longer willing to put up with it.
You don't need to restart the storyline. You need to progress it -- and you could make a /very/ good start by retconning the part where Gorax tuned Sia out the moment she started making an argument that he couldn't counter.

Kyrie does not think her background is any of Gorax' business. They're not friends -- heck, until and unless he's capable of accepting the fact that people will not share his 'durr booze BAD' delusions to the point where he no longer starts making implicit threats whenever he so much as smells alcohol she's not particularly interested in befriending him, either.
I'll be frank: At this point, Kyrie thinks Gorax is a dangerously deluded bully that was probably foisted off onto the Stolen Lands in order to avoid nasty consequences for some kind of incident most likely related to his habit of erupting in violent rants whenever someone mentions alcohol. She has no reason to trust him with details of her personal life... And she also no longer believes she has any reason to trust that he /won't/ eventually segue from implicit threats and stupid rants to actual violence.
Maybe - just maybe if he gives some sign of being able to learn or change the next morning she might decide to give optimism one more chance. But as far as she's concerned, reasoning and logic have been tried at least three times so far, and his only response has been to either tune people out or make some dramatic gesture and flounce out. She's going to need a very good reason to even bother trying a fourth time and as it stands now she has none...
ETA: WRT inns, while I'll grant Gorax' low intelligence, I'm not willing to grant that he's enough of an idiot not to realize that there's exactly one person in the outpost that could be brewing or selling the ale Kyrie is enjoying. But when Kyrie pointed that out Gorax' only reaction was a shirt-ripping dramatic exit -- which is one of the reasons she concluded that he's not going to listen to reason, period.
If Gorax was the bully you suggest, I think he would have fought Sia when she came out and hit him for no apparent reason at the hermit's lodge. Since then Gorax has fought by your side, holding no grudges against spiders and other foes. No doubt Sia would have told you about other encounters involving Gorax, as she is Kyrie's friend, and Sia was central to these encounters. But if your character holds these beliefs then that's the way it is.
Fighting by one another's side for several weeks is apparently not enough for Gorax to so much as give an instant's benefit of the doubt when he smells alcohol...
And while it's "nice" of Gorax to hold no grudge over the fact that Kyrie had the temerity to not agree with him instantly regarding his alcohol delusions the moment he made it clear he was willing to get violent about them ("perhaps you didn't hear me" is roughly equivalent to "what did you just say?" in terms of confrontational DEFCON levels, especially when the person saying it is larger and more muscled than the person it's being said to), Kyrie is much less sanguine about his now repeated threats.
Haha, guys like Bregor don't think like that, now that the plan is in motion he is confident that we will succed, confident enough to consider it done already.
Suggested watch order, if we don't have a default one.
Bregor, Kyrie, Salinthas, Gorax, Sia.....
3 hours watches, organised so that there is only 1 hours on everyone's watch (except Sia), where they watch alone. I expect people to be still doing things around 9-10 on Bregor's watch too.
Bregor 9-12, Kyrie 11-2, Salinthas 1-4, Gorax 3-6, Sia 5-8
If this agreeable then this would be our default schedule. It is not set up to be the best schedule, just one that might be agreed.
Making good use of the elves reduced need for sleep and low light vision, and taking into account the need for the arcane to sleep to regain spells, I see nothing that doesn't look good. I'm all for it.
Gorax is planning to go away for a few days....he will not have internet access 15th March pm to 19th March inclusive, so rather than hold you up, would you bot Gorax please Atapax during those times.
Ata, can you let Siarani know which hexes she can marked explored so far? This temple is a pretty good landmark/checkpoint for doing so, after all, and it's always good to have everyone on the same page..

All the hexes you plotted out to explore can be marked as explored. The shrine is in the last one.
It turns out that the Gimp has a very nice little scriptlet to draw an arrow along a given path: http://maketecheasier.com/draw-arrows-in-gimp/2010/12/25. Definitely made drawing that route easier. Raw GIMP file of the map and the route as separate layers is here.

BTW, once again out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. I'll try to check in once or twice a day, but no promises until Saturday when I get back.
just wanted to say I have been following your posts in the adventure and wanted to say I am really appreciating the stories you are setting up with your characters and look forward to seeing where it goes. Happy adventuring everyone.
I don't want to loose Gorax from this AP, as its a been fun. The party is interesting and it would be a shame to loose it, because Atapax is temporarily out of action. I also don't want to replace Atapax, as he's been a good GM and kept the AP going. So anything suggested here is purely temporary, until Atapax gets his RL time back.
1) We put the adventure on hold til Atapax returns
2) If no one else wants to, I'll DM until Atapax returns, however I want to keep Gorax running. Then we can get some more momentum back into the game.
3) Find a guest DM for a short while?
4) Other suggestions???
P.S. Good luck with all the house stuff, I know it can be a very stressful time so fully understand your desire to stand down for a while, whilst it sorts out. Hope it starts to run more smoothly.

Meanwhile...while I probably could also GM, playing as a face would make certain parts either boring or much more difficult for the rest of the group. I don't mind if you step in though, Deevor.
I'm not a terrible fan of #3, and in my experience putting something on "indefinite hold" tends to cause it to waste away. I'd rather keep the momentum going.
I'll be posting later today....at least that's the plan...
As Gorax is neither wise nor clever, when I play him he will just hit things...other than that I'll probably not do too much on the RP side. If one of you wants to take over Salinthas, whilst Atapax is away, then just let me know, otherwise I'll have to bot him too.....
Just wanted to lay down the quests we have outstanding so far....
if this list is incomplete please correct..
-You've been asked by Oleg to retrieve Svetlana's wedding ring. Norbert told you that the bandits had it stolen from them by mites. He knows where their lair is, but none of the bandits wanted to go in and get the stolen stolen goods cause it wasn't worth the trouble.
-Fangberries to get for the hermit
Not sure if we picked up any new quests on the last trip to Oleg's,
so please add them here....
I think we did ask Norbert for the general area where that mite lair was, so that we'd know to look for it when our exploration took us into the general vicinity.
No, she doesn't. As none of us looked for/at the wanted posters that may have been up at Oleg's, what you remember is from glancing at it as you went past. If Atapax had meant us to know about the posters, I'm sure he would have given us the information before we left Olegs', so I think I'm being kind having Salinthas remember for you (and me).
I would have told you on the results of your roll if she had.
Sorry, with another long weekend over here, Royal Wedding and May Bank Holiday, we've got family staying. Not getting enough time to put the next bit in...
...normal service will hopefully be resumed on Tuesday...if I don't get time before then.
