One more detail I forgot to add.

Voice somewhat weary, "Master Hast was the one who saw to their exile." states Master Liam.

Soliel wrote rapidly in the black journal as Master Liam spoke, idly wondering how a shop called "Hezek's Wares" was allowed to operate in the city when the Tower knew the man and his crimes. I'm sure the Masters had their reasons, and would have told others if such knowledge was needed Her writing was quick and clipped, a fine, highly legible print that most would find impossible to produce so rapidly. Even as she recorded the data, she spoke up in her oddly accented Common after Master Liam finished.

Ma'am, are there any leads we should be aware of regarding these criminals? The aasimar noted....Soliel shook her head in disgust at having to rifle through pages of Roland's sloppy, disorganized notes. ...yes, here, while re-interrogating Hezek, that Bannali was a known quantity. Hezek appeared fearful of Bannali, and did not perceive him as an ally, but rather as one that could cause problems both for the Tower and those opposed to us. But the abyss seems the common denominator. Hezek felt Bannali mad from abyssal exposure. No surprise to see nothing but corrupting and debasing elements from that realm. Only the last sentence carried any emotion from the tiefling.

Flipping again through the journal, back into the earlier sections, she again spoke. And here, yes, Brother Tomlin wrote of a lead he and Master Serelina spoke of: House Seris. This was a merchant house, defunct for all intents and purposes now, and several members were judged guilty by the Tower of defrauding customers. Other members of the house protested, of course, the guilty always do, but the Tower leadership saw fit to banish the miscreants. Looking up from the journal she added, Ma'am, are these the same House Seris members, or others allied with them? Are there others who were banished we need to stay vigilant of? Brother Tomlin had thought to track descendants of House Seris for clues and I could do the same. The last was spoken to both Liam and Serelina, to seek permission.

Know: Local attempt, if allowed, to see if Soliel might have any additional info regarding House Seris leads 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30

@GM: Also, anything from Sense Motive regarding Master Liam's reference to Hast? Is she irritated or annoyed with Hast, or more sympathetic that he had to deal with the exiling?

Hmm, I'd forgotten I'd added in house Seris as a plot hook to Serelina - let me add two more names to represent them.

"There were also the two twins from House Seris. Irane and Llitan. They had ties with Lia, and had scammed a large number of people in bogus investments with their merchant trade."

Soliel:

Master Liam seems troubled regarding Master Hast's involvement with the criminals banishment.

Regarding House Seris, what was left of their house moved to the Hold at the time, but have since become instinct.

Soliel paused, her inscrutable gaze holding just longer than necessary on Master Liam before looking back down at her journal to scribe the additional notes. Afterward, she took a deep breath and looked around at the assembled group.

I see no viable reason to believe that all of the forenamed individuals are not out of their just prisons and back in Coran or the surroundings. It may even be that the miscreants who killed Master Torenest were agents of these mutated demonic vermin. As such, their deaths are the only viable answer. I agree strongly with Edmond; out of a misplaced sense of compassion or "another day" information queries, too many traitorous wretches have been allowed to live. It is beyond time to hunt these individuals down and give them the fate they deserve. Though forthright and clear, Soliel spoke in a matter-of-fact tone, mostly devoid of emotion.

The question becomes: how to find them? Per Brother Tomlin's notes, 15 years and maybe more has passed since these individuals were banished. Since then, life has gone on and few leads exist. Hezek's interrogation produced the lead on this priest Bannali. Only one part of that lead, The Barren Mermaid, was investigated though. We could also asked around about these twins, but even the asking could tip off our quarry. Ma'am, are there other leads? Soliel's question seemed primary directed toward Liam, but also took in Serelina.

"I have no help for you in this case, though perhaps Master Hast may be able to provide some additional insights?" says Master Liam.

Meeting with Master Hast is easy enough if you want to talk to him before doing anything else.

Looking directly at Masters Liam and Bellafini, Soliel says, Ma'am, with your leave I will seek out Master Hast for additional insights. Assuming no dissent, she heads out to find the man, perfectly fine to be accompanied or not. Before leaving she adds to the group, we will soon face a choice: which of our many enemies to hunt. Radgar, the mysterious Harpist from the temple, the Drow b!tch and associates, or Hezek and the remainder of the Abyssal escapees.

Locating Master Hast proves less than difficult after inquiring with a few mage novices. Soliel remained polite and deferential to each of them, if deeply formal. Upon finding Hast she hailed the man. Sir! If you could spare a moment of your time? Making it clear her questions may not be appropriate for all ears, she nodded subtly to an empty room nearby. Sir, I apologize for the interruption. Immediately after the execution today, we tracked down and eliminated an Enemy of the State spying on the event. An associate of the man's escaped, Soliel choked back the shame and frustration she felt for that, but he was a disfigured human male. Master Liam identified the body of the other man as Elmond Kether, one of the group the Tower exiled to the Lower Planes. Brother Tomlin's notes connect this man to the murderer-rapist Hezek, who also escaped exiled and is currently unapprehended. Hezek is of course in turn connected to a target named Bannali and the group that murdered Master Torenest. Subject to your guidance, we see the threat posed by this group of Abyssal escapees and their underlings as of the highest priority. Master Liam seemed to suggest....you might be best positioned to advise us. Any information you may have regarding these miscreants could assist in their elimination.

Soliel intentionally leaves the question of Hast and Liam's disconnect over the Exiling hanging in the air, hoping for more clues from Master Hast. It should be clear from her non-verbal cues that she has no qualm about however the group was treated.

Serelina stands beside Soliel nodding. "I believe we need the full background on these individuals as well as their compatriots. It may be that we should consult other resources as well since the demonic is again strongly involved." With the last Serelina looks up as if observing a specific location within the tower.

Ian finds the quartermaster and queries about getting paid.

Master Hast gives a slight nod to Serelina, "We may be able to gather something more with some divinations."

Master Hast gives a grim smile. "There were certain energies of the outer planes I wanted to study, but I needed subjects that would not be missed by society. Not all of the council were pleased with that, but I had sufficient sway that I was able to proceed."

"I am very surprised any survived though, but given that at least two of them did, you have likely surmised correctly that all of them did. The nature of the laboratory did not allow me complete control over the tests as I might have liked. Once the primal energies disintegrated their bonds, they were free to leave the area, though their bodies were physically ravaged as well, they fled the area and headed deeper into the planes."

"As for Bannali, that is not a name I recognize. A new ally of theirs? Or an alias perhaps? Serelina, did you not contact a fellow named Dether that knew something of Bannali? Perhaps we should press him for more details."

"Lia - if she is back, she may have turned to some of her old contacts in the underground. Locating informants who have been good enough to survive the past 15 years might give us clues. Or capturing one of the leaders in the gang war, Diguri or Firyin."

"The others will be more difficult I think. I don't know if they have any ties to anyone in the city or out at this point in time. If they are back, we unfortunately may be forced to wait till they act up."

Serelina:

If you want to go speak with the devil you can do so now.

She then turns with Master Hast and leaves the group.

GM:

Once they reach the anti-chamber before contacting the devil, Serelina turns to Master Hast. "I need to understand the conflict between you and Master Liam regarding the banishing as well as magics you were using. Really, I need all the details about this time period if we are to be able to deal with this returning threat. I believe have proven myself capable of considerable discretion and if we are to work closely in the future a modicum of trust is in order. I am not going to conference with that devil without knowing all the facts."

Yay, the site is up when I'm in a position to post to it.

Serelina:

Master Hast gives a grim smile, "There is always politicking between the members of the council. Some like Master Liam would take a soft approach to government. I don't know if you noticed, but he was the only one with a dissenting vote on the execution of the drow by your hand. And while I am no longer on the council of seven, by my choice, I still have a degree of influence here."

"I should warn you, Master Veray is likely to share Master Liam's opinion. And as the first seat you must tread carefully around him. Where Master Liam is soft, and will give in easily if a vote is against him, Master Veray is both a highly skilled mage and politician. His one weakness is his compassion on those who don't have the motivation to seek a place for themselves in this world."

"As for the escaped prisoners, I will tell you what I learned of my experiment with them. I was seeking ways to enhance a spell casters natural powers, while trying to learn of a way to minimize or eliminate the inherent dangers of being exposed to such primal energies. The abilities present in Hezek with the powers of a summoner confirm what I've suspected for all these years. That man was never bright or charismatic enough to have learned such skills on his own."

"While he was our prisoner, I did take some time to interrogate him on my own, probing his thoughts and memories. He lost his arm that first day of his banishment to those same abyssal energies. From there he wandered the planes for some time before running into some of its native denizens. They of course tormented and tortured him, but ultimately set him free under, most likely, false promises. A pawn in their schemes and plots I have no doubt, though Hezek did not understand his role there."

"Unfortunately, as such a pawn he had no useful information either."

"Of greater concern, if Hezek gained additional powers though, it is likely the other did as well."

"But that still leaves me the question of gaining that increase to power without harming the body. I have some theories, but 15 years ago after that first experiment I have not been given such an opportunity again. The council has denied me that. I'm hoping you might be able to change that in time."

"Our mutual friend says he knows a way, but I unfortunately cannot give him the asking price - unfettered access to the planar studies room."

GM:
"Yes, that price is not one that could ever be paid. Thank you for your candor, let us see what the infernal may know."

Serelina then works with Master Hast to use the planar studies room to try and gain any insight to the newly found threat proposed by Hezak's group. She offers to include the devil on all intel regarding the demonic threat as part of the reward and points out that the if the tower should fall to this threat, the planar studies room and the rest of the Tower's assets could end up under demonic control as a direct thwart to the infernal. She gives a full accounting and shares diagrams of the magical writings found on the corpses as well.

Serelina:

The devil examines the diagrams for a moment, "These are for summoning daemons from Abaddon. In many ways these creatures are more dangerous than demons as they are driven by more than raw passions. These rituals have already been performed then? Whatever now lurks about your city needs to be hunted and put down."

"As for the escaped experiments and their newfound powers... the planar energies that have warped them will leave traces of magic, similar to what the presence of a magical item will leave. It will be stronger in areas they have used their powers compared to areas they have simply visited. I can teach you a spell to detect this, but I want the bodies of the daemons in exchange."

The spell would basically work like detect magic to detect lingering auras. Use of planar abilities would leave a overwhelming aura effect.

"You can do that? ... Yeah alright, let me know how much it cost ya," Ian nods gratefully and heads out on the town (unless there's something else pressing).

Serelina:

"I have every confidence in your ability to bring what I have asked for. But very well, we are agreed in our bargain."

GM:
"Agreed. This relationship continues to be profitable. Until next time, Devil." When alone with Master Hast, Serelina asks in parting. "You mentioned that my aid in gaining you additional leeway and assistance with your research would be beneficial. What are the next steps to me formally getting raised to Master so that I might lend you such support?"

To Ian: "Half of what a merchant would charge you will give me the materials I need."

GM, I know we have had time here or there, can we say that Serelina has been working on this in spare time so that Ian can get his belt? The game seems very fast paced so I'm not sure how you want to work crafting time.

That evening Serelina calls the rest of the group to meet in her chambers. Her new devil companion as well as the imp are present and seem to be about arcane tasks she has set them to while the group converses.

"I have gleaned some new information from my research regarding our foes, and the threat is more immediate and dire than we might have supposed. The symbols we are finding on corpses are for summoning daemons from Abaddon. In many ways these creatures are more dangerous than demons as they are driven by more than raw passions. While Radgar and some other mysteries are troubling and we must focus on hunting down these Daemons and Hezak's crew. It is also essential that we do all in our power to recover the corpses of the Daemons in order to extract further information. In preparing you should know that only silver or blessed weapons can fully affect many Daemons, and they are all immune to acid and resistant to fire, electricity and cold. Many will also be able to resist some of my magics."

"I have also learned that Hezak and his companions are using dire planar energies from Abbadon to enhance their magical abilities. I have learned a spell that will help me detect such use of power and this may help us in our hunt. How do we think we should proceed."[/b]

After meeting with Master Hast, Soliel met briefly with the quartermaster regarding pay, then promptly returned to her small room. There she spent the remainder of the day on alchemical experiments and scribing notes before the group's evening meeting.

Upon entering Serelina's chambers, Soliel paused a moment to observe the enthralled devil's. She said nothing, but the white glow in her eyes and intrigued smile belied her interest.

The tiefling listened intently and impassively to the wizardess before offering her thoughts in her oddly accented Common. Ma'am, do we have specific leads on these daemons? Although we have a considerable list of names and backgrounds regarding the escaped Exiles, we lack leads as to where to look for them. There are un-investigated Bannali leads, but his exact relationship with the others is not clear.

Soliel paused, ever so briefly, before continuing. The one called Lia may be known to the criminal network in the city. I may have an additional lead here: Cheyle Nayss. Until Diguri's assault on the Tower, she was a prisoner here after her capture in the Wailing Spirits raid. I....know her from prior affairs and could attempt to get in touch.

Cheyle was the female drow the party captured when we found her asleep in the secret area accessed from one of the rooms of the Thieves' brothel hideout.

I have no especial desire to reacquaint myself with underworld rabble. If there are other paths forward I would gladly take them. Additionally, I have a recipe for a weapon coating that would harm creatures vulnerable to silver. Given time, I could create doses of this coating for our efforts.

Soliel nodded in the affirmative to Serelina's question and proceeded to pull out two vials, one full and the other slightly less than half so. The larger of these is Elmond's, the man we killed. Visitation Rights:

Ian remembered the house well. It was an old, beat up thing, once upon a time. Now barely a frame with planks nailed all over it. Just a shack, made almost weatherproof, in a long crowded line of others like it. He wore a tan cloak over his breastplate to hide the Tower insignia, and a helmet to hide his newly pointed ears, with the visor raised. It was raining again, just like last time, and the upturned visor helped keep the water from his face.

As he walked up the stairs to the front door, a step gave way underfoot with a rotten snap and his boot came up covered in mud and rot. Cursing, he smashed his gauntlet-clad fist on the door to knock--and it opened a few inches, unlocked. "Kira?" Ian called out into the dark shack.

No answer. He pushed the door open as he stepped inside. "Kira," he called out again. The shack was dark, no fires or light inside, just dim overcast daylight shining in through holes in the roof as rain spattered and dripped on rotten, water-soaked old floorboards. Ian's boots thumped dully as he walked through to what was once a bedroom, the door hanging from one hinge.

"It's mine. Get out. Mine. Get the f++~ out. I'll gut you. Out," came a low raving voice from the dark of the room--but Ian could see him there, a shaggy man in rags, backed in a corner with a hatchet.

"Ain't here for your spot. Looking for someone who used to live here," Ian said with a level, flat tone, lowering his hand from his greatsword. Apparently the man saw that as a sign of weakness and rushed him, swinging his hatchet in a wide arc. Ian stepped into it, the shaft of the hatchet bouncing harmlessly off his armor, and smashed the forearm of his gauntlet into the squatter's mouth, knocking him flat on his back. While the man lay there stunned and bloodied, Ian snatched the axe from his hand like a parent taking a toy from a child. "Just stay down or I'll knock you down again. I said I ain't here for your spot. Just want information."

Spitting blood and angry, the haggard, scarred man around Ian's age glared daggers up at him. "Wut den?"

"Girl, bout 19--no, I guess 23 now... short, blue eyes, brown hair, named Kira," he frowned. "With a boy."

The squatter tried to stare Ian down in the slim hope he'd just go away, but sighed heavily. "'Bout a week ago, some thugs came, killed the boy, girl got away. That's how I got the place," he sounded proud of himself.

"What thugs, who? Where'd she go?" Ian took a step closer, looming over the fallen man.

He seemed to shrink, curling his body up defensively. "Dunnow, dunnow. She just ran, she climbed out tha window, ran and ran."

"What. Thugs. Who. What's their names, who they work for?" Ian gritted his teeth. If he couldn't find Kira today, at least he could get a little payback for her. Keep her safe.

"Who every thug works for here. You dun know? Gregory. They all work for Gregory now, ever since summun' killed ole' Esteban, one-eared Gregory been in charge. Ruthless bastard. And paraonid."

Ian remembered Gregory. Remembered taking his ear off, too. And the memory of killing Estaban? That almost got him hard. That was a good kill. F%$%ing bastard, he thought, remembering.

The squatter had crawled backwards all the way to the wall, cowering there, apparently not liking whatever he saw in Ian's eyes. "Wait wait, wait. Please. I, I think I know where she ran to. Alright? Please, just leave me be," he nearly sobbed. "There's a orphanage, takes in runaways. She worked there, every day, helpin' the kids. I think she'd go there. But but I'd never tell Gregory and 'his lot that. We gots to stick together, you know, us kids o the slum. Eh? Please..."

Ian turned and left. Something was eating at him, deep in his gut. Something about Kira working at an orphanage tore him up inside. He'd find her, and then he'd track down his old friend Gregory and get reacquainted. Orphanage first.

Mother Mercy Orphanage was its own little independent power in the slums. Nothing as grand as a Thieves' Guild, but a respectable neutral ground. Most of the city's thieves grew up there, or at least spent time there. And if they hadn't, they were close to someone had. All sorts of criminals grew out of Mother Mercy's, but that's not what was bothering him. If anything, that was a good thing. She'd be safer, with some protection, some family. Orphan. May as well have been. When her mother died she lost her dad, too, he thought grimly.

He'd stalled long enough, staring at the orphanage, thinking. He worked up his courage and stepped inside. Hungry, suspicious faces watched him from bedrolls, hammocks, and tables. It smelled like mold, but there was food on the air, too. Maybe a stew. A weary old woman approached, maybe twenty years Ian's senior, and put on a forced smile. ”Can I help you with something? What brings you here.”

”Lookin' for Kira,” Ian answered bluntly. He noted the recognition and instant defensiveness in her face when he said Kira's name.

”Haven't seen her in a week or more. Sorry,” the old woman began to turn away, returning to her duties.

Ian walked past her, towards a closed door to another room that had caught his eye. The old woman frowned, calling out after him. ”If there'll be nothin' else I can help ye with, I'd have to ask ye to leave, sir.” He tried the door handle and it opened to an empty office with a desk and dusty shelves. ”I'm—I'm afraid I'll have to fetch the guards, “ she threatened. Ian tried the next door down, and it was locked. He shoved his shoulder into it and it obliged with the soft crack of wood splitting.

He saw Kira, then felt the point of a dagger slip between armored plates, press through the leather and chain mail to rest against skin, from behind him. Kira's face went from fear, to recognition, to frustration. ”It's okay mum, I know him.”

The old woman slowly pulled the slim dagger out from Ian's armor, but whispered harshly to him before leaving, ”Poison'd kill you before you could turn around. Don't f%$+ing touch her.”

He let out a careful breath, then grinned at Kira. ”Fierce protector.”

She ignored him and turned away, ”Shut the door—if it even closes now. You're going to get me killed.” He walked in and obliged. Kira sighed heavily and turned back to face him. ”What do you want? Money? You can donate it to the orphanage, I'm not taking it.”

”It's...good to see you,” Ian mustered as he set a heavy coinpurse on her bookshelf.

Kira crossed her arms and stared at him impatiently. ”Good to see you too. So, goodbye? I have work to do.”

Ian took a deep breath and hoped he could say the right things. ”You're a woman, I mean, not a kid. You've grown up—and I'm sorry about the boy, you were with. You look good, and...” He took another breath. ”I thought maybe with this new job at the Tower I could just throw enough coin around and get us all together again. You, your brother and sister. Provide for you all and protect you, that's all I wanted. But I don't think you need it. I mean you've all survived just fine without me. Seeing you now, grown up, I get it. Hells, you've thrown it in my face enough times. When you actually needed a father I wasn't there, and now you don't need me.”

Kira's face had softened, despite her jaw being clenched. Did that mean he was saying the right things?

”I just, wanted to say I'm sorry, and...” his chest felt deflated but he forced the words out anyway. ”If you tell me to not come back, then I won't. I'll stay out of your life for good. I promise I won't look for you anymore. If you say so.” Gods, don't say it, please.

She laughed, angry. ”I've been telling you it for years, you want to hear it again? Fine. Stay. Gone.”

He stood there, a prisoner of his own decision, realizing this might be the last time he'll get to see her face. Kira started crying and Ian felt even more trapped in uncertainty. Somehow he thought this would be it, when the walls would finally collapse and they'd reconnect. Did I f#+$ it up? Anguish slowly calcified into a cold, hopeless anger. He nodded. ”You won't have to see me again. And you won't have to worry about Gregory and his thugs, either. We're old friends,” he walked away and didn't look back.

Turns out Gregory had tried to kidnap Kira to get at Ian, hurt him, extort him. Didn't make any difference. After they were all butchered meat littering their little 'headquarters', Ian bought a night's worth of Pesh from a local dealer and a cheap room at a cheap inn. At least she's safe.”

Hopefully not overstepping in the details about Coran's slum. Anyway Ian will rejoin the group at the next meetup, maybe get that belt from Serelina and we figure out our next move?

"Resistant to fire, that is annoying." Edmond said from the doorway. He walked inside and leaned against the doorframe. The end of the snake-man's tail was visible in the hallway, he seemed to be guarding the door.

Your good Ian. I actually quite enjoy your interludes.

Serelina:

"Once Master Veray returns the council will take up a vote to add you to their number. Given the response we had from the 5 regarding your appointment as executioner I don't anticipate a nay vote."

Feel free to take 4 days break for doing enchantments, scribing new spells, etc.

Ian:

While heading to a tavern one night, waiting for new orders, a voice speaks to you from your left. "Your names Ian isn't it?"

Turning to look you see no one there.

"Keep walking. There's nothing for you to see here." The voice is male, a tenor, but covered with a scratchy hoarsness.

"I heard what you did to Gregory and his crew. Nice work that."

We don't need to wait for Ian's side event here to conclude if the group is ready to make plans.

"So what we doin', hunting escaped prisoners and killing them?"

Ian has the hungover look of someone who may or may not have gotten high on Pesh over the entire downtime.

Spoiler:

Ian immediately pulls his greatsword half out of its scabbard, squinting at the empty space talking at him. He doesn't start walking again until the voice mentions Gregory. It occurs to him it might be a hallucination.

"Yeah. Gregory and I go back. It was personal. Whatdyou want, taking his place?"

M Halfling Soul Weaver (Dual Channeler) 8 | HP: 33/64

"Hopefully, and not setting them free with a condolence package to go f&$@ things up worse."

Ian:

The voice gives a soft laugh, and you are not certain the speaker is entirely sane by the sound of it, "Not at all. I was hoping you could show the same kindness to someone else for me as you did for Gregory."

Spoiler:

"Why would I do that?"

Ian walks into an alleyway, away from the regular folk, and turns to the voice, waiting.

"Essentially yes, Ian. I think we have recently seen that I prefer to deal with traitors with more finality than some. So it will be kill and bring back the bodies. We have a few days to plan and get ready, let us make use of them. When we are ready I will try to use the blood to scry upon our foes and see if we can learn anything. We will be ready to take decisive action at that time."

Ian nods without complaint.

"You alright Ms. Bellafini? Lookin'...distant. More than usual, I mean."

M Halfling Soul Weaver (Dual Channeler) 8 | HP: 33/64

"That is what I like to hear. No more fooling around."

Ian:

"I'll pay you." a small bag appears out of the darkness flying toward you - thrown by an invisible hand. It doesn't clink with coin, but is supple as you catch it, and the smell of pesh reaches your nose.

Spoiler:

All expression drains from Ian's face. He asks flatly, "Who is it, and why you want em dead?"

"There are daemons and worse skulking in our city and it is on us to deal with it. Sorry if I seem aloof, Ian. You just make sure your head is clear for battle. For now, I will be working on your belt and some other projects to see us ready for the task... I'm sure we all have things to prepare."

With that she turns to a tome and appears to begin working on a leather girdle with the inside emblazoned with mystic symbols. The imp quietly laughs while leering at Ian and sniffing the air about him.

"Another day at work, eh?"

He glares at the imp.

Ian:

"The Fizzwhinkle's over on Grime Way in Tiny Town. They own the pawn shop there." The voice cracks slightly, "They helped kill my Volundeil."

It takes a moment, but that name sounds familiar.

3 days of time pass, with no unusual activity reported from the typical crimes.

Spoiler:

"Volundeil...I remember you. Tony's crew you said? Those f++*ing c$+!s? You know they're there? Did you see them? Who did you see?" Ian's face has turned red by the end of his questions.

Ian nods to Serelina in appreciation for the belt. "Feels like I've been gettin' slow. I'm well old enough to be a grandpa. I could be, for all I know," he grimaces, but it fades. "This takes the edge off nicely. Almost feel at my peak again."

He's not that old, but you'd reckon it's possible, if he had kids pretty young.

@GM: Would "no unusual activity" include no more guard deaths presumably at Radgar's hands?

Yes, no guard deaths recently either.

Spoiler:

Ian tosses the bag of Pesh back at where it came from. "I'm going to see who else wants in--but I'll kill the f%!$s alone if I have to. They won't escape this time," he spits on the ground of the alley and walks off (unless stopped).

When they're all together, Ian brings up some new information. "Got a tip that Tony's crew are using a pawn shop on 'Grime Way' in tiny town. I know we've got other things on our plate, but I want these bastards dead right now."

Soliel had remained silent watching the interaction between the others with an dispassionate if somewhat calculating look. Her eyes narrowed and grew slightly darker at Ian's state. Brother Tomlin was correct, the stain of pesh is upon him. No matter, as long as he remains useful.

Her gaze fully transfixed on the ex-guardsman when he revealed his additional information. Very interesting..., she began as she immediately commenced reviewing the black journal held in one hand. ...yes, and this is the same group tied to Shannath Diguri. Her and her kind are owed for their crimes. Demons would seem a higher order threat, but Anthony and his people have earned their executions as well. Glancing over at Serelina she added, Ma'am, I would recommend the demons remain are primary focus, subject to your final decision.

The tiefling looked on the verge of putting the journal away when she looked again at Ian. Who provided you this...tip?

"That drow who came to us drunk awhile back, wanting vengeance for whatshername. He was invisible this time, and sober, but I don't think the time without justice has been kind to him. Sounded a little off."

Ian waits for the other's input, but he looks ready to leave right now.

"Sounds good. Burning it down will send a message."

Sounds like daemons first then. How do you want to start to tackle that?

After noticing some hesitation, Ian adds, "I'm going. Anyone who wants in on some bloodshed and payback should come."

I know OOC it's awful to split the party, but Ian's not putting off the opportunity

@Ian: IC totally makes since for Ian to want this

Soliel quirked a brief smile at Edmond's tactical plan, a facial expression that was accompanied by a milky whiteness dominating her eyes. But she said nothing until Ian spoke up again. The tiefling looked back at Serelina, clearly deferring to the wizardess' opinion.

So Firyin then. This is our most tangible lead, with a target that is likely unaware of our knowledge regarding their location. It concerns me to be used by criminal rabble this way, but Diguri's thugs are responsible for the deaths in the Tower. We could eliminate them first, then return to Exiles.....

Soliel's response indicated both her intrigue with Ian's plan while be mainly concerned with informing Serelina so she could make a final call.

Serelina sighs at Ian, rubs her eyes and shakes her head.. "The way our investigations constantly intersect it may be that pursuing this will yield fruit. The daemons must be dealt with, however. Let me finish studying my spells and we can go deal with Anthony and his thugs."
