Tomlin shook his head for a moment as fog clouded his cognition, he knew he could push through it but the distraction came at the wrong moment. The Halfling gave off a frustrated grunt as the momentary distraction gave his target a chance to run off. He knew he could follow the trail of blood @GM: remember 3/rnd bleed for half-orc w./ longsword, but thought better of it. Best to wait for others to join the fight, then spring from the shadows again Darting away from the masked half-orc, Tomlin sought out a nearby nook or side of a building where neither half-orc, the human male in peasant garb or the man in spiked armor could see him.

Move action to nearest spot where none of the foes could see him, them attempt to re-enter stealth. I'm guessing L39 (ironically where he is on the map at present) would do nicely for this. He'll then use his second move action to climb the side of the building to his west.

Climb Check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

@GM: a map update would be super helpful when you have a chance

I'd provided a map update in my post, but forgot to update the main link at the top of the thread. That is updated now prior to Tomlin's move.

Tavrus and Edric are up.

Ian attempts to scale the side of the building, but is unable to get a firm grasp. DC 15 to make the climb here

@GM: Do you mean Tomlin?

Yes.

The target, Vaek, steps northward where he disappears from Serelina's sight beneath the slight overhang of the small homes lining the street. From the southeast she also catches the sounds of someone she cannot see casting a spell.

Serelina:

Despite the sounds of stomping feet, and jangling of chain armor you are able to make out enough words of the spell to identify its purpose. The caster has just cast an invisibility spell.

The guards rush forward and towards the main street, two heading down the alley's, the third stopping at the base of the home where the half-orc is perched.

The sergeant moves past Tavrus then casts a spell of her own, a wave of blue light radiating outwards from her.

She has cast bless, everyone gets a +1 morale bonus on all attack rolls for fight.

The human on the roof of the southern buildings heads westward, then begins an incantation.

Serelina:

He is casting sleep, which will go off at the beginning of his next turn if he is not interrupted. The spell should prove no issue for your companions, but could be a problem for the guardsmen.

Half-orc on the roof is up then Ian.

Map The map is prior to whatever actions the half-orc might take, but may be enough for Ian to plan his move (I'm guessing the half-orc is probably going to fall back out of sight if you want to state an action based on that Ian, though if I'm wrong would need to retcon that).

GM:
Can I get any further specifics on where I heard the invisibility come from? I'm thinking of dropping an area of effect spell if it is feasible. Also, the sleep caster is the guy on the roof with goggles, right? What is the height of the roofs 10'? 20'?

Serelina:

West-southwest, close to where the caster on the roof is casting his sleep spell from.

The half-orc raises one finger to point at Serelina.

"Ανοιχτόχρωμο δέρμα σας θα κάνει μια καλή προσθήκη για τη μάσκα μου"

Draconic:

"Your fair skin will make a lovely addition to my mask!"

Then hurls a small object to strike the roof over which she is flying, an egg. Upon bursting a noxious green cloud of vapor covers the area, enveloping all within it.

Everyone needs to make a DC 19 fort save vs poison (stinking cloud) or be nauseated. Depending on results Ian may not want to charge forward.

Still waiting for some bad guys to go.

He actually went before you last time as well, but you'd posted your actions before I'd posted his in this thread.

Tomlin unfortunately is caught in the cloud as well at the edge of it.

Ian, with the cloud up you are unable to see where the enemy is at this point. Do you want to move forward towards the enemy to get out of the cloud, or back pedal to get out of it?

Will save for the priest, d20 + mods = 14

Edric of course is immune.

With no vision of the enemy, everyone go ahead and state actions for this turn (they can't see you either, so I'm not to concerned about exact init order at the moment, but will stop the action where needed if people are in sight of each other again.

Fort Save vs Cloud 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Tomlin feels the unfortunately familiar experience of nausea wash over him again, and attempts to back out of the cloud.

Can't see the map right now, but basically will take a move action to move north and east, putting the cloud between himself and the enemy. Hopefully he can stay in stealth too.

HP 37/48 KILLED IN ACTION Human Undead Lord 6

sorry for the inconvenience but I am still on mobile only and still traveling, and can't see the map. Could someone take my turn for me? I should be done traveling Friday and back to normal.

Will have Ian and Tavrus fall back this round as well.
Tavrus Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Tavrus is unaffected by the noxious fumes.

You stagger out of the toxic fumes to the north and east, hoping the effects of the magic will wear off rapidly. Tavrus leaves Edric standing in the fumes to block the path should any dare to run through the fog in chase.

The faint chanting of more spell casting can be heard to the southwest and the guards can be heard shouting up ahead.

Round 3
Each take another round of actions.

Map

Tomlin grits his teeth as he attempts to keep his stomach from heaving at the awful stench. Taking in the clean air, he motions to his companions to fall back to the next set of buildings.

First full round out of the cloud, 1-4 rnds left. Single move action to J50 attempting stay in Stealth. I'm thinking we'll be better off making our stand around the I thru L, 52 to 54 squares on the map. That will require some movement on their part during which we can hopefully get rid of the nausea effect. Don't bunch up too much though to prevent another stinking cloud from being so effective. I'm REALLY coming to hate that spell....remind me to have Tomlin make Antitoxins.

Tavrus: I'd recommend pulling Edric back at bit towards the group on his next turn.

Ian moves up and pulls one of the guards out of the fog (the cleric I think?), then readies his bardiche for attack if an enemy tries to get past him. He glances at the rooftops but squints into the fog, trying to make out what's happening with the guards.

Clanks or yells of pains of combat? or just shouts of confusion?

Ian can't ready an action till the sickness passes, only a move action is available.

Still need round 3 actions from Serelina, Ian, Tavrus/Edric

Was waiting to see how they responded to the guardsmen before I could answer Ian's question.

For most the shouting and noises to the west are muffled and unintelligible, but Tavrus, perhaps because he is not feeling the same illness as the rest of the group, hears things clearly.

One of the men shouts, "Spread out, they've wizards among them."

Just as another one calls out, "One of em has gone invisible."

HP 37/48 KILLED IN ACTION Human Undead Lord 6

Can Tavrus see that red headed character and if so does he know it to be the enemy? As a player I am kinda confused.

Nauseated, Serelina tries to keep the cloud blocking the view between her and the enemy casters until her stomach calms.

If she can see any enemies she adjusts her position in the air to take herself out of line of sight.

Doh, forgot to provide a map link (I'll get one up tonight). Currently none of you can see any enemies.

Map

HP 37/48 KILLED IN ACTION Human Undead Lord 6

Tavrus backs up (up on the map) 5 ft and looks around for enemies. perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 and readies an action to fire at any he should see when they appear.

Edric will move out of the cloud and up adjacent to Tavrus.

ah, love nausea

Ian walks to the edge of the cloud and waits for the nausea to pass.

Tomlin, given no one else fell back did you want to still move 20' east? or Northeast? Waiting for the other side to catch up, but everyone can probably start planning their round 4 moves.

Female Elf Wizard 7/Diabolist 1 HP: 49/49; AC: 18|ff14|t12; F+3|R+2|W+6|; Init +0; Perc +8; Bluff +15; Sense Motive +11.

I have a feeling our round four moves will have a great deal to do with the condition of our stomachs.

@GM: Yes, Tomlin would like to get to I52, or just J52 if that would be sufficient to Stealth vs. those coming down that ally from the west. And I agree with Serelina...our actions are really going to depend on how soon the nausea resolves.

At the end of round 3

Vaek appears from thin air next to Tomlin as a short blade stabs into Tomlin's shoulder, drawing blood. His movements are accelerated above that of what should be possible for a normal humanoid.

"We merchants will not be subject to your rule"
attack d20 + mods = 25, Tomlin is denied dex. Dmg d6 + 3d6 = 15
Tomlin needs to make a DC 17 fort save vs poison or take 1d2 ⇒ 2 strength damage. He will need to make another save each round as well if he fails. Remember Tomlin is currently at -2 to saving throws.

Immediately Vaek vanishes from sight again. He was in J52 when he attacked

Round 4
And we will be back in full init order. I was not anticipating him breaking his invisibility just yet. This will be the second round everyone has been out of the cloud, so the cloud may start ending on some characters.

From the southwest the guards continue to shout, "Sergeant, their wizard is flying your direction."

A moment later one of the guards, carrying his longbow, comes barreling around the corner to see Tomlin standing there with blood flowing from his shoulder. The man shows no injuries of his own. "Where is your assailant?" he queries.

Serelina:

Also from the southwest more sounds of spellcasting. You recognize the arcane words as that of a cause fear spell.

Ian is up. Will get a map up tonight, but not much has changed from your perspective of the latest map. Tomlin is a few steps to the east, and their is a guardsman standing 15' south of him.

AC 19, Hp:44/60, Ki Points Left: 1/7, Poison Doses Left: 3 Initiative+6, Fort+5, Ref+11, Will+6 (add +2 vs. Fear), CMD 17 Att: +9/+9 with swords (1d4/18-20x2) or +11 Sword, Shuriken +11 (1/x2)

@GM: Tomlin has uncanny dodge, which allows him to keep his dex bonus when flatfooted or vs. invisible attackers. I'm guessing that means the attack still hits but doesn't do extra damage

Thanks. Damage reduced to 6. Fort save still needed

Updated map

Fort Save for Tomlin, with -2 penalty 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

@GM: Would the guard actually see Tomlin? He was in Stealth, which I suspect Vaek saw through either because of a really good Perception check or because Tomlin didn't have cover/concealment against him. Highly unlikely the guard would beat Tomlin's Stealth check, but its possible Tomlin did not have cover/concealment vs. the guard. I'll respond below as if the guard really did see him.

He is using invisibility, he probably is not far. Do not believe what he says about belonging to the merchants. In fact, believe nothing he says, it is all lies. Still nauseous, Tomlin works his way in Stealth to G51 in hopes of being hidden from his adversaries.

@Tomlin, in both cases you didn't have any cover from Vaek or the guard.

Ian GM PC'd
Ian moves closer to Tomlin and Vaek's last known position K50 and finds himself free of the nausea. Next round Ian will be able to act normally.

More spellcasting from the south, but neither Serelina or Tavrus is able to make out the spell.

The half-orc that cursed Tomlin, now flying 5' over the roofs of the buildings swings around the north side of the cloud, and upon seeing Serelina utters an incantation.

Serelina needs to make a DC 18 fort save or be unable to cast spells requiring a verbal component. She can still use hexes, except cackle.

Tavrus and Serelina:

He cast lipstitch.

Serelina, Tavrus, Edric, and Tomlin may all take actions

Tavrus moves 10ft north and holds a standard action to shoot any enemy that comes in view, to include the flying guy if he flies over the roof's edge.

Serelina ducks around a building, flying low in an attempt to stay out of sight from the enemy casters.

As Serelina takes cover from the half-orc the sickness passes from her. Tomlin is not so fortunate in that regard, but ducks around the side of a building.

Tavrus takes a position underneath the slight overhang of the roof with his crossbow ready and Edric stands guard in front of him.

Round 5

Screams of terror are heard to the southwest, and Serelina can see one of the guardsman fleeing at top speed, passing from west to east down the main road.

Another of the guards moves in near the sergeant and Ian, his bow at the ready.

Enemy actions then Ian will be up, who can take a full round action this turn.

The half-orc flies west and south a little. Tavrus may take his readied action to fire at him if he wants, but it is nearly Tavrus turn anyway if he wants to keep his same init and have a full round action.

Tavrus needs to make a DC 19 will save or take a -2 to future saving throws.

Ian is up and can take normal actions.

Updated map

The half-orc directly above Tavrus is now at G37, but otherwise the map is up to date.

Male Half-Elf Fighter(8) Init +5, Perception +9, AC (25/13t/23fl), HP 100/100, Fort +11, Ref +6, Will +12 (+2 vs. Ench., Immune Sleep), CMB +14 (+2 Sunder), CMD 24 (23 fl) (+2 vs. Trip, +3 vs. Disarm & Sunder)

Ian looks down the alley, seeing the cloud persists, he turns and checks around the corner of the building (5ft step?), if clear, moves south til he can see around the next corner.
