No problem. I love Tommy! I love that he has some sort of deep-seated feeling of inadequacy and he seems tentative *in* the game and now you sound tentative *outside* the game... awesome!
I'd say Tommy should try to overcome his avoidant tendencies and start sticking his nose where it shouldn't be.

I'm going to run him a bit until we've all got the ropes- leaving the real investigating to you guys, but he'll have a suggestion now and then to prod things one way or another.

Hey, Eradico. Things are going okay. I'm thinking over whether or not to keep going. I absolutely appreciate your enthusiasm for the game, I'm just not sure how well I can maintain the time commitment necessary to keep rolling on. It's also a new system for all of us, which can make things daunting in some ways. I will try to update tonight. Thank you very much for your patience.
No problem at all, James. I have trouble saying "no" so if that's what you need to do, you have my respect. Love the scenario so far, though, so I'd rather put the game on hiatus rather than give it up. As to the system, I like it so far as well.
I'm okay with whatever you decide, James. Although I still need to give the rules a good going over, I'm enjoying the game. That said, as I mentioned above, I'm going to be busy as hell for the next few months and can certainly understand being stretched too thin.

I'm gonna keep pushing forward, I think. Once back in the routine and once I've read the rules and everything over a few more times, I think it'll go over quickly enough to at least finish the investigation.
Another awesome thing: The Apocalypse Machine for Trail of Cthulhu. Very cool alternate rules and framework for post-apocalyptic games.
