WuRa:

As Rafael rushes forward, the creature takes its prepared action when he gets within 60' of it, presenting itself in its full glory. A rainbow of scintillating eyes blink like fireflies, and Rafael begins to feel a pull of fascination.

(Will save DC 20, can only fail on a 1)

provided you make that save, you continue your charge towards the creature, striking it, but not before it attempts an AoO for your approach. 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32 sting; which misses you.

You slam into the creature. Fort Save 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34, hurting it but not stunning it.

It lashes out at you, a flurry of stingers and a tail whipping at you.

Stinger #1 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38
Stinger #2 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28

Stinger #4 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27
Tail 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22

All miss.

You can see the wound you inflicted already starting to heal.

Down the stairs, the cheering of the crowd gets louder and louder until you find an open space. A slow oooooooooo comes over the crowd and they quiet down to see what will happen next.

This vast chamber(each square=15 feet) features a 60' high ceiling. In the center of the room, a 90'x90' platform is suspended over boiling, spewing lava. The platform has walls of its own, with spikes topping a 15' outer fence at odd angles, as well as inner curved spikes forming a kind of dome-like structure with a 60x60 opening on top. Two tremendous statues guard the only obvious footpath to the suspended structure, a chainlink bridge.

Two floating skulls peer in your direction floating about 10' off the platform and looking through the fence. They are aware of your presence (possibly due to the crowd), but may not have spotted you if you wish to try the stealthy approach.

Either way, it's initiative time!

Spoiler:

Oops, yes, sorry, the "platform" described above is actually the cage/dome/walls containing the platform and the lava.

The Platform should be described as:

Between the fenced walls, hanging suspended over the lava pit by tremendous adamantine chains is a 30' diameter circular platform covered in loose chunks of metal and debris. It is a 5' wide circular beam twisted into a circle with a gaping hole in the center 25'.

The chainlink bridge leads to the platform, and the demiliches are floating 10' above the platform, so they can see through the bars of the fence surrounding the lava field.

Does that make more sense?

Liberty's Edge

Male Human Commoner 2

WuRa:

Te Demiliches get their second intiative after Rafael and before Wu can act.

Rafael is currently suffering from 6 negative levels due to Devour Soul (below).

spellcraft1d20 + 24 ⇒ (14) + 24 = 38

spellcraft1d20 + 24 ⇒ (19) + 24 = 43

The demiliches recognize the AntiMagic Field being cast and hiss in anger and dismay, floating higher above the platform by 30' (total height 40'above the platform, out of the protective area of the fences.

Then, Wu breaks cover and moves into charging position, now possible due to the fences no longer blocking a charge. (I moved you forward 60' so you could reach either one on a charge.)

Glad of a new target, the Demiliches focus their attention on Wu. The further one floats over to get closer.

Both Demiliches use a Mythic Point to cast a quickened Greater Major Curse on Wu. The first one uses it to give him -8 on attacks, saves, and checks. Will DC 26 Negates. Then as a standard action, it uses Devour Soul on Wu. Fort DC 26 partial, see below.

The second, acting after the first, uses its Greater Major Curse to bestow a -12 to Con. Then as a standard action, it uses Devour Soul on Wu. Fort DC 26 partial, see below.(These save will be affected by any negative levels and/or curse effects Wu already suffers from.)

And now Rafael is up.

EDIT: Updated Map

Devour Soul:
(Su) As a standard action with a range of 300
feet, a mythic demilich can imprison the soul of one
living creature within one of 10 special gems embedded
in its skull. Alternatively, a mythic demilich can expend
one use of mythic power to target two living creatures that
are within 30 feet of each other. If a target succeeds at a DC
26 Fortitude save, it gains three permanent negative levels. If it
fails, its soul is immediately drawn into one of the gems in the
mythic demilich’s skull. The soul remains trapped within the
gem, visible as but a gleam except under true seeing. The soulless body corrupts and decays rapidly, reducing to dust in a single
round. As long as the dead creature’s soul remains trapped
in the gemstone, it cannot be restored to life via any means save
direct divine intervention. Gems with souls trapped in them can
be retrieved from a destroyed mythic demilich, at which point
they can either be crushed to release any souls within to their
afterlife or used in the place of the usual material components
to restore the soul and body with resurrection or true resurrection.
After one hour, the mythic demilich can choose to consume any
soul trapped in a gem, healing it 1d6 hit points per Hit Die of
the soul, at which point only miracle or wish can restore the dead
creature to life. The save DC is Charisma-based, and includes a
+2 bonus for the Ability Focus feat.

GM & Wu:

How do they recognize it? There is no visible spell effect and it is a use activated device. They can only spellcraft a casting of a spell. They should have no idea that I have an AMF on unitl they interact with it. It is just like Spell Like Abilities, they can't be spellcraft either.

Only an Acrobatics check Rafael can make in his sleep.

After Rafael moves forward, The demiliches act again.

Bad news for Wu.

The first attempts a repeat of last round; swift Greater Magic Curse DC 26 for -8 to attacks, saves, and checks, followed by Devour Soul. (remember to apply negative levels to your rolls)

The second does likewise; swift GMC for -12 Con, followed by Devour Soul.

fort save: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (8) + 25 = 33 pass, 3 negative levels

will save: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21 fail

fort save: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (1) + 22 = 23 fail, dead

so much for the charge.

GM & Wu:

Hold up, on RD 1 Wu stealthed, then DLs hit me, then I moved and AMF'd, then DLs hit me again (and found out about AMF).
Rd 2 Wu charges. Then they can move(but provoke AoO from Wu from one he charged), then they hit Wu for the first time (he saved). Then I double move. Did Wu do anything to the one he charged? Also his AoO would happen before he gains any neg lvls (unless it doesn't move).

GM & Rafe:
Actually I was hiding in round 1. I moved into a position for a charge in round 2.

I can only charge in round 3. Wu is bye bye.

GM & Wu:
ahh, I missed that one.

GM & Wu:

Well, even w/o the AMF, I have no way to fly, as I have already used my celestial armor (another oversight).

Rafael watches in dismay as Wu falls. Having no other options, he heads back to the stairs while watching to see if the skulls follow him.

Round 1: Wu activates winged boots, stays in stealth mode under cover.

.........Demiliches attack Rafael
.........Rafael moves forward twice and activates AMF
.........Demiliches try on Rafael again, figure out AMF and float up 30'
Round Two: Wu moves into position to charge
..........Second Demilich moves forward and both Zap Wu
..........Rafael double moves across the bridge
..........Demiliches zap Wu again. Wu dies? didn't have a closing bracket on that last save, not sure what he rolled.

Dual initiative is a b!!$~, especially combines with S.O.D.s that include a suck even if you save.

Round Three: Wu---

Demiliches: One for me, brother! the second demilich exclaims.

The first demilich floats above the central lava pit. It attempts to pull lava up into you from under the chain bridge, but your antimagic field nullifies the spell before the lava can reach you.
[/b] Not below, brother, above. [/b] The second on cackles, pulling a bunch of the lava up and over your head before releasing it to let gravity do what magic cannot. 10d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 5, 2, 5, 1, 5, 1, 2) = 34 fire damage, Reflex save DC 15 for half (none with evasion).

Rafael's turn.

Map.

GM & Wu:

reflex save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

Rafael heads for the stairs they entered from, watching to see if the skulls follow him. (double move 60')

Rafael heads back towards the stairs.

Demiliches: Stay, brother, he retreats in defeat. The first demilich cackles.
Curse his protective field. I would feast on his soul as well. the second one responds.
They both attempt raining lava down on you as you leave.

GM & Rafe:
Edited the post to get the save fixed. I rolled a 1. Yes, multiple stacking negative levels means I was pooched going in. I either had to kill one in a hurry or was toast. Toast it was.

GM & Wu:

Rflx save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Rflx save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Rflx save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Rflx save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

Rafael dismisses the AMF. He then activates his boots (both the free and the swift action) and moves 60' towards the stairs.

On their turn, when they get ready to target me again, I will use an immediate action from stagger proof boots to move 60' into the stair well to block line of effect.

GM & Wu:

Yeah, the distances were too great. I needed to be able to close to melee range with one immediately. If so, then it would be helpless. Dual initiative with an auto 3 neg lvls is tough to overcome. Needed a Death Ward, then they could do nothing.

Rafael's clever use of magic items gets him out of harms way.

GM & Wu:

Rafael will go up the stairs some, but keep the entrance visible so he can see if they follow him. Then He begins casting cures on himself with his wand.

Let me know if we are in or out of initiative.

Upon first reaching the end of the stairs, you do not see the Demiliches. Sneaky little bastards.

GM:

Well, if they are all the way back at the ring of lava, then with the -1/ 10' for perception none of us are going to see each other if we all are sneaking :)

Rafael activates his boots (not haste, just greater heroism) and sneaks a little further in.
