Ha! I'm so happy it worked out that they're all helpless for 7 rounds.

All three Black Banners crumple to the ground, unconscious. Adrac smiles and walks over to Anthony then places a hand on his shoulder. "Good work, lad!"

Pudge seems amazed. "Wow. How do you do that?"

Combat ends...for 7 rounds at least.

Davi knows an opportunity when she sees one. She books it over to Flower and digs through her saddlebags. "Rope...rope...Aha! Here's mine, here's Anthony's...anyone else got some rope?" There's a spring in her step as she walks over to the unconscious Banners. Before she starts tying up Grelm she grabs the Wand of Earth's Ire off the floor. She looks it over for a moment, shrugs, then stuffs it down her shirt. "Safe enough for now. Someone give me a hand tying these guys up?"

In the back of the room, in the corner, a pile of detritus stirs, but unfortunately the group is too focused on dealing with the Black Banners to notice. Twisting, wooden vines snake out from the debris to form a humanoid shape. Its entire body is composed of the wooden vines, except for its head, which appears to be a wooden mask in the shape of an owl with owl feathers rising like a crown. It's wide eyes glow bright green. In its hands is a staff - the Spirit Staff of King Narven! The staff is fiery and ruby-studded. A pair of burning gold wings decorates its top, and the other end is capped with a red iron claw.

"Symni sul sevi ul ili!" its voice booms, in Sylvan. The frightening creature's vines twist and coil around its body. *GM plays boss music, something with an electric guitar* :O

"Stars above but I'm starting to hate this forest" Davi sighs as the plant creature drops poor Adrac. A heartbeat passes while she thinks and then she's moving. She scoops up a branch from the strange fire, shifts it in her grasp like it's a sword and then heads for the creature.

As the Company falls to his spell, Anthony feels a surge of triumph as he was able to end the conflict with no bloodshed. His happiness is short-lived however, when something rises from the corner of the room and strikes down his childhood hero. He turns after hearing the monk hit the floor and is first filled with a silvery fear upon seeing the great beast. His fright is drowned out by a rage building his chest at seeing Addrac on the floor. With a roar, he rips his rapier from its sheath and attacks the monster with steel and animal fury.

Anthony thrusts his rapier into a gap between the creature's squirming vines, hitting dead air instead.

Deep down, in a corner of her heart she was not proud of, Soroza was tempted to run. She doubted whatever sorcery Anthony had flung at the Black Banners was permanent and that... Thing... That had risen up in the room had already struck the most experienced of them and laid them out. Every one of her instincts was telling her to bolt for that door, and yet...

Adrac grated her, but he was a good man and seemed to genuinely trust to the best in people. Anthony, awkward and fumbling as he was, had demonstrated incredible bravery at every turn. Davi possessed a wry wit and a genuine sense of black humor that was a refreshing contrast to much of the environment she grew up in.

Soroza realized she would very much like these people to be her friends, and that wasn't likely to work out well if they were dead.

So she banishes her instincts, steeles herself, and offerers a small prayer to Calistria while reaching for the whip tucked into her belt. "Give me the strength to overcome this foe, that I may inflict shame onto the Black Banners in revenge for their slights against us."

Her whip lashes towards artifact clutched in the creatures grasp:

Soroza rips the Spirit-Staff of King Narven from the creature's grasp. It falls to the ground, rolling away from it. The creature then uses the vines from its body to fashion a new weapon in the shape of a quarterstaff. It turns to Pudge, the damage left from his frost spell healing over, fresh as new. It steps closer to the offending wizard and strikes!

Anthony pours himself into the melee, tooth and nail and without regard for his safety. His companions might be able to swear that his eyes are literally alight with rage.

She circles around the combat to her left, drawing her short sword as she does so, until she comes into position flanking the plant creature with Davi.

Then Herral sorts through Alicette's backpack, pouch and scrolls as he munches on some of her iron rations. He makes sure that Tarkus has his fair share too. And puts another meal before the gagged elf but forgets to untie her. When she glares and groans he realises his "mistake",

She plunges her short sword towards the creature again.

Soroza's grip on her short sword falters ever so slightly, causing her to miss. She recovers gracefully, making it seem almost like a toying swipe.

The creature stays fixated on Davi. Its green eyes glow even more brightly. Suddenly, it surges several of its vines towards her!

Davi must make a DC 17 Reflex save or become encased in the creature's wooden vines. If she fails, she gains the entangled condition, cannot move, but may escape with a successful DC 17 Strength or Escape Artist check. An attempt to escape is considered a full-round action. Anthony's head starts to clear when Knu casts his spell. He is very aware that Adrac is still alive at this point, and now has to worry for his safety. He considers trying to haul him out, but the Black Banners we're in the doorway and would probably block his retreat. That aside, the plant monster probably wouldn't allow him to carry Adrac out anyway. He just had to take care of the threat before making sure Adrac was safe. He lets her have another drink.

"I loik you an' yer charms. Tis impressive since dwarves meant to be stubborn sorts. You bin to a college fur that learnin'? Desna be praised if'n I could make people hop and dance to me tune loik you do."

He smiles a devilish grin at the pretty girl.

"The lumber consortium? You must be playing stupid, or maybe you really are, I don't even know anymore." Aliciette looks exasperated, and leans against a tree.

"I went to the Bard's College in Augustana. I wanted to go to the College in Westcrown but papa said it wouldn't be proper for an Andoren girl. Ugh. Whatever. Are we just gonna sit here in the rain all day or are we waiting for something?"

Female Human (Chelaxian) Ranger (Urban Ranger/Divine Tracker) 1, AC 17 (Touch 13, Flat-Footed 14), HP:-2/11, Fort. +3 Ref. +5 Will. +1, CMD 15, Initiative +3

Soroza was not impressed with the effects of the healing drought. Did Laurel water theses down before handing them out?, she wondered to herself. She didn't mean it, but cynicism is a final refuge for the desperate.

I really hope I don't need this later, she muses to herself as she retrieves her second, and final, potion. Unstoppering it, she gulps it down and hopes for the best.

Sometimes You're Just That Thirsty: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
All better!

Soroza move action to retrieve stowed potion. Move action to drink potion.

Plant monster swing v anthony: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Plant monster vs Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 89
Plant monster damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

The creature once again attempts to attack Anthony, swinging its quarterstaff at his body. The magus raises his rapier and blocks, the force of the swing sending shockwaves down his arm. The wound in its chest continues to heal slowly. Nirashi hesitates for a moment, looking to Grelm for guidance. He nods, grimly.

She side-steps across from Anthony, flanking the creature with the tiefling. She glares at Anthony from across the monster, then steels herself.

"Pallid Princess, guide my blade."

Nirashi attack scythe flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 = 19
Nirashi damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7

Her violent swing comes riving into her enemy, cutting a ruinous furrow through its leg. The vines fall to the floor, and the creature wobbles for a moment, steadying itself. Nirashi smirks.

Round 7

Grelm moves closer to the corner of the room, giving himself a clearer shot. He overcompensates, and his shot goes flying into a ceiling beam. He curses under his breath. "Damn it! Kill it!"

Grelm longbow into melee: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 1 - 4 = 1

Suddenly, Knu appears behind Grelm and Nirashi, wielding the Spirit-Staff of King Narven!"I'd say we've outgrown our partnership, wouldn't you, Grelm? This is for my brothers!" He cackles and points the staff at them, shooting a searing cone of flame in their direction!

Grelm reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Nirashi reflex: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Plant monster reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Plant monster reflex 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Spell damage: 5d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 1, 2) = 9

This catches all of them unawares, and they are all enveloped in flame. Grelm and Nirashi shriek in agony. When the flame clears, the plant creature is a smoldering husk on the ground, only a few vines twitching. Nirashi is on the ground, covered in horrible burns. Grelm is somehow still standing, although he is clearly in excruciating pain.

"KNU! YOU BACKSTABBING LITTLE SHIT! I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"

Soroza heals to full. Monster regenerates 2 HP. Nirashi deals 7 damage, disabling the monster. Nirashi and Grelm are dealt 9 fire damage. Grelm is still standing, but Nirashi is KO'd. The plant monster is weak to fire, so it takes 13 damage. The plant monster is KO'd. Davi is up.

With the plant monster down Davi's got no use for the torch. She drops it on top of the plant creature and heads towards the new threat. She smacks her rapier on Knu's hands in an attempt to force him to drop the staff.

Disarm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Free action to drop the torch, Move action to draw weapon and move, Standard action to attempt Disarm. If Knu does a melee attack for his AOO she'll try using the panache dodge

Davi drops the torch onto the plant creature, setting the dry, crackling vines on fire. The creature is highly flammable, and is quickly engulfed in a rapidly growing flame. The air begins to become thick with smoke.

The goblin yelps and drops the staff.

Davi sets the plant creature on fire. It is now dead, but there is also now a fire. Knu is disarmed. He does not AoO. Anthony is up.

Male Tiefling Magus (Fiend Flayer) 1 HP 7/9; AC 19, T 14, FF 15, hp 9, Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +2; Resist Fire 5, Perception +5, AP 0/5

As the fire explodes around the plant monster, Anthony shields his eyes reflexively. He couldn't feel the heat very much, but the fire was bright and blinding to him. When he allows his arm to come down to his side, the Aasimar had fallen and Grelm had been badly burned. He muttered angrily, "Of course the goblin had to betray them."
He made some quick calculations while glancing about the room. Then made it swiftly to the corner and shouted, "Knu, I'm going to give you a chance. Lay down your arms, slowly, and come quietly, and I'll see you unharmed. You try anything funny, and I've got a spell for you." He jangles another baggy of colored sands as a promise.

Move action to put Anthony in range of Color Spraying only Knu
Ready a standarad action to cast Color Spray if Knu attempts to flee or attack or cast a spell.

Knu will respond on his turn. Soroza is up
