:) This is a discussion thread.

I promise that I will have things to discuss shortly.

Hello players!

I am so excited to get started. Play will start officially on Monday. I’m hoping this will give you time over the weekend to make any last minute changes to your character.

Before we can get started I need you to do some things first.

1. FIRST: You are allowed to make last-minute changes to your character. I chose all of you based on your characters’ personalities, backgrounds, story hooks. So please feel free to change anything and everything about your crunch, whether it is because you’re having second guesses, or if you’d like to try and cover missing skills in the group composition. Remember to account in your backstories for any radical changes. To be clear, I am fine with changes to your class, archetype, skills, spells, and gear. Feel free to communicate with each other in discussion about this.
2. SECOND: I have a campaign wiki set up on Obsidian Portal. Please PM me either your e-mail or Obsidian Portal username so I can give you access to the wiki. The wiki will be used to keep track of NPCs, handouts, plot lines. maps, basically everything.
3. THIRD: Once you have access to the wiki, please click on the “character” tab and add your PC, both crunch and background. Feel free to add “secrets” that only you and I can see if you want to keep some secrets from your fellow players ;). I want each of you to make at least two other NPCs that are connected to your character. Preferably ones that live in Andoran or who would appear in the campaign at some point. I also want you to clearly list your character’s short-term and long-term goals for this campaign on your character page. Feel free to put that under a secret if you don’t want your fellow players to know everything you’re up to. Make sure to explain why you are travelling with Laurel, the alchemist at the start of the campaign.
4. FOURTH: I will soon have an excel sheet up (that I have shamelessly ripped from GM Hokina) that can be used to track weight and loot. Please add your character’s gear to that list.
5. FIFTH: I will soon have a post up on the gameplay thread explaining the setting. Once I post this, feel free to jump in and roleplay with each other or with Laurel the alchemist. The game won’t officially begin until Monday, though.

As you guys get your finalized backgrounds submitted to the wiki, I’ll start PMing you with questions about your backgrounds and will go through the process of double checking that your characters are legal.

There is also a hexmap of Andoran up on the campaign tab page. If that doesn't get you pumped about sandbox, I don't know what will :P

Thanks for giving this a chance. I hope that you enjoy Andoran as much as I do.

Excel sheet up on the campaign tab. Y'all get 2 potions of cure light wounds apiece. They're gifts from Laurel, since you're running around without a divine caster :P If Feth chooses to run Mirode instead of Davi, delete one of your potions so you only start with 1 a piece.

I would strongly suggest that someone in the group pick up the Survival skill, as it will be necessary to get through the wilderness. Or, decide on magical ways of finding your way around :>

Oh, and forgot to mention, I'd love your characters' birthdays ;)

Male Tiefling Magus (Fiend Flayer) 1 HP 7/9; AC 19, T 14, FF 15, hp 9, Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +2; Resist Fire 5, Perception +5, AP 0/5

So a few things from me:

If I use the ACG Footprints book, the DC for identifying footprints is 10 so that means I can make the check untrained yes?

I wish I could use the Survival skill effectively but I used up too many traits and it also makes Tabrik less essential to Anthony's backstory.

I'm changing Anthony's age on his sheet to 21. I had originally intended to make him that age, but I guess I forgot or something and made him 24 by accident. I may change that again though... What year is it before I decide on his birthday?

@CaptainFord/Adrac: So I'm definitely sure that Adrac and Anthony's father have at least heard of each other, but do you think they worked together in the past? I think it could be quite possible considering how close to each other they settled down.

@Feth: I enjoyed Davi more than Mirode, but like GMoL mentioned, that is saying a lot. Mirode is a pretty great character and we could totally use a healer, but Davi is such a cool character I wouldn't know who to pick if I were you. It doesn't seem like it would be too big a problem if you decide to go with Davi, after all, making things dead faster is one way to prevent hp loss! Oh yeah and the extra health potion too.

I also have access to Infernal Healing in a pinch. (But its [Evil])

I've got Survival! I'm not *great* at it (+5), but it is there.

Also, I know we are leveling very slowly and it won't kick in until level 4, but I *will* be able to use [i]cure[/] wands eventually.

So getting the Magus Kit saves me tons of money and apparently weighs less than getting the items piecemeal. I'm going to count it like it was before, or maybe just take some things out. =/

Or maybe it wont matter so much and he can just slough off his backpack before combat starts.

EDIT: I was slightly wrong. Because of the flavor items I added, I would've been over light capacity anyway.

Hi there chaps.

Herral reporting in before work. Thanks for the chance at this, I'm surprised I got in, because my Hinn is no great combatant yet.

As for skills, I'll take a look at them over the weekend, he has plenty.

cheers

And now for introductions, since a long running game depends on a strong discussion thread where we can can shoot the breeze and discuss the various merits of Tom Brady over Russell Wilson for instance.

Hi Guys, I am a 48- (almost 49) year old house husband with two lovely children, Ellie (4) and Archie (8) and a gorgeous wife, Helen, who works in a Futher Education College as a lecturer on the island of Guernsey in the English Channel.

I've been gaming since 1981, which is much less than many on these boards, and used to be a regional director for TSR back in the day. Although I've played plenty of different games, DnD (in all its editions) is my favourite by a country mile. I used to go to the UK Cons alot where I wrote a bit for Living Greyhawk. Since then my only other writing gigs have been for Raging Swan Press (luckily I used to play with the publisher). Great products for a busy DM.

I do table top DnD monday evenings (RotRL) and Thursdays (Viking based Kingmaker homebrew).

Other hobbies include supporting the Green Bay Packers and Liverpool Football Club.

Cheers

There's quite a bit of an age gap here, but hopefully that won't be much of a problem. I'm a 21 year-old student, husband and Father of one 9 month old.
My life gets pretty busy but I'm a reasonably organized guy and I'll let you guys know in advance if I'm going to have trouble posting at a given time.

I've been playing DND since I was 14, when I started high school. My computer teacher from middle school introduced it to my brothers and I and we've been playing tabletop RPGs ever since.

Currently I'm running a Seven man (There's one girl, actually) Kingmaker game where we meet every other Sunday.

Hey there, friends.
Introductions:

My name is Paula, I'm 28 years old, married, no kids. I work as a clinical pharmacist so I work long hours but they're mostly in front of a computer and alternate between busting your butt busy and sitting around browsing Facebook slow.

I've been playing tabletop for only 2 years now, only as DM. I wanted to try for a long time, but no one ever wanted to DM, so eventually I was like "whatever, let's do this!". taught myself to play, wrangled up friends, and never looked back. I have 2 table groups, 1 is an ultra-casual dungeon crawly group,(meets once a month sometimes every other month) the other completed RotRL recently so we're on hiatus while i get Wrath of the Righteous going. The other group meets weekly on Saturday or Friday night and I anticipate we'll be back up next month.

I also enjoy superhero comic books, tabletop board games (of the Ameritrash variety mostly, ha), sometimes video games (RPGs who woulda guessed?) though I don't have much time for those usually on top of everything else.

I'm driving home from this education conference thing so I'll be on in 6~ hours or so to address your PMs/comments here. I've sent out obsidian portal invites to those who listed an emails for obsidian portal access.

I'm pretty new to PBP so if you have any ideas of how to streamline the process (especially combat @_@) let me know! I have another campaign going, a solo WotR, so you can check that out if you want to see my DM style...assuming you don't mind WotR spoilers. :P

Yay, introductions!

My name is Nathan, 29 years old, and I work as a manager for a rather famous (in appropriate circles) comic book shop in the California Bay Area (obvious brag is obvious, but it's a year and a half down the line and I am *still* excited about my job, which is something I've never been able to say before, so I humbly beg you allow me that brief indulgence.)

I started playing D&D when I was about 8, around 3rd or 4th grade or so. I began with the "simple" Dungeons & Dragons game (Elf is a class? What madness is this!?), and my first character was a two-handed sword-wielding fighter with 18 strength named "Dragonslayer". I like to think my capacity for character concepts has evolved a bit sense then.

My early start with D&D and increasingly advanced age means I was just able to squeak into the group that was led *to* video game RPGs *from* the tabletop, and those games are a necessary pastime of mine as my experience means I am "always a DM, never a player".

I have, however, recently joined a weekly 5th Ed game. While I admire the system a great deal, Paizo's creative quality and progressive social politics won me over hard some time ago and my loyalty and meager table-top budget remain exclusively theirs.

My other hobbies include comics (obviously), film, and eating as much curry as I possibly can before I die.

So... sweet! I made it in!

As for an intro to myself, my name is Christian, 24 years old, and I'm out on the east coast in North Carolina. Not married or have kids. Been trying to find a job for a while and having utterly lousy luck, though I am finally looking one in the face that I might have a shot at (that's another can of worms I won't go into). I've known about D&D and the like for a long time, and I've always wanted to join in on a game, but I could never find a group in my area (around here, people care more about NASCAR and other industries than tabletops and stuff).

I finally got into playing Pathfinder around... 6-8 months ago? Probably more than that, but I was finally excited to find a few people who would teach me how to play. I moved to PbP shortly after that, though I'm still looking for an RL group to call my own. (I love PbP for the accessibility, but a faster game would be nice once in a while).

I will say up front that I love kobolds (perhaps more than is healthy for a player), for the sheer reason that they permit weird concepts and that their weaknesses demand more creativity out of me (I'm more of a fan of role play over roll play). Were it not for the race restrictions, you'd have probably seen a kobold entry from me.

Then again, that may explain why I opted to go with an old age monk. I just like the challenge of low stats; it demands more of me as a player and writer.

Oh gosh. I get to choose between Davi and Mirode? It's like having to choose between my kids. I would really love to get feedback from you guys. Mirode would seem like the obvious choice since we don't have a divine caster but Davi has so many good hooks for this campaign plus she's just fun to write. Is anyone taking the Heal skill?

My name is Becca, I'm 28 years old. No husband or kids just cats lol. I live in Southern California and I work for a CPA who is also my best friend's mom. I've been playing Pathfinder for a couple of years. I started out with a small group of friends but we sadly can't play together anymore so I turned to PbP to fill that void. I've been loving the PbP format, it's great for roleplaying.

Outside of Pathfinder I love video games and I read a ridiculous amount of books. God bless the LA library system for lending books digitally!

French Wolf: If we're talking football I will have to talk about how Aaron Rodgers is superior to Tom Brady ;)

Ok. I've been thinking about this for the last hour. All things being equal, I'd choose Davi. So I'm going to choose her. I hope think we can get through the level one modules without a dedicated healer. I'll keep a close eye on how we do, and if we're struggling I'll give Davi a level of Oracle once we hit level two. Her charisma is good enough to pull it off, and I'll have a lot of fun writing her reaction to her new found powers. Heck, I might just give her the level of Oracle even if we're doing great without a divine caster!

For what it's worth, I was in favor of Davi myself. Changelings are awesome, and you just injected so much life into her. Glad to have someone to stick pointy bits of metal into jerks after I trip them. We don't need to heal if they never hit us! :D

@Anthony Read

You can make survival checks untrained! However, to navigate the hex map (especially in forest) you will need to make survival checks or get lost. I understand that many GMs handwave travel and navigation, but with a hexmap and interwebs technology I have managed to utilize the rules in my home games. Basically, the smiley face is where you think you are ;) Only I know where you actually are mwhaha.

The game begins on 26 Sarenith 4708. You can check the current date and time on the inventory excel sheet on the last tab. Also weather!

Infernal healing as fine as long as the character takes using an evil spell seriously. Only with repeated, careless use would I start shifting alignments. (Also it doesn’t get much more good than saving a life.}

@Feth

I honestly enjoyed them both equally. Davi has better campaign hooks. Mirode would have found no shortage of causes to champion for, though.
….

Just need Adrac and Tarkus to give me e-mails or usernames so they can get on Obsidian Portal. When you’ve finished your character’s page, say something on discussion or PM me so I can start taking notes. :]

@Anthony Read

Dropping the backpack before combat works. So does utilizing Herral's donkey, or purchasing your own beast of burden :) And of course, bags of holding.

Well, if Davi die a horrible death I can bring in Mirode. For a moment I was going to jokingly suggest you take them both but I stopped out of fear you'd actually do it. Not that it would be too hard, but I could see writing pages of rp with myself and nobody needs that. ;)

I'm working on Davi's wiki page now. I've already caught one mistake on her character sheet where I left out a trait. Somehow I really shortchanged her starting gold too so I'm redoing all her gear.

The formatting in Obsidian Portal is driving me nuts. Is there an easy way to put a stat block up?

@anthony read

unfortunately, no. There are pre-made character sheet forms but I don't like them.

The formatting doesn't play nice with copy-pasting from a conventional statblock. I usually just copy-paste and fix strike-out (caused by minus signs) and deal with the random underlining, ha.

@Anthony Read

Reviewed your stuff on the wiki.

Still need:

A birthday :D

And: explicit goals. (Short-term and Long-term)

And: I’d like you to add Anthony’s father as an NPC to the NPC list.

Questions:

1. How long has Anthony been in Falcon’s Hollow?
2. You mentioned that he transcribes religious texts to his journal. Does he worship a particular deity?
3. When has Anthony last been in contact with his father?
4. Who taught Anthony to use the rapier?

Crunch Stuff:

1. Magus don’t gain access to Disguise Self so you gotta replace it.
2. You have one too many level 0 spells by my reckoning.
3. You can learn 2 more languages, yay!
4. Technically Varisian isn’t available to you but your background supports it so I’m fine with it.
5. You have two social traits but since they’re not stacking up the same effect (and also are highly appropriate to your background) I don’t mind.

I added:

1. A secret to your page ;) If you no likey cause it conflicts with stuff you’re doing, PM me lol.
2. Silver and gold to the excel sheet for your character so the weight is being properly accounted for.
3. A couple of links in Anthony’s page, and a picture for Tabrik.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Ranger (Urban Ranger/Divine Tracker) 1, AC 17 (Touch 13, Flat-Footed 14), HP:-2/11, Fort. +3 Ref. +5 Will. +1, CMD 15, Initiative +3

Okay, this is going to be embarrassing, but here's where I come out as a serious luddite (seriously, my parents understand computers better than I do) because I'm having trouble with some formatting/technical stuff:

On Obsidian Portal: I see that the underlines are being caused by the "+"s... So, how do I get it to *not* do that and instead just display the "+" where I need it?

On the Excel sheet for inventory: Okay, this is where I truly come off as wicked dumb: How is this working? I've got the sheet up and I can fill it in but is it automatically distinguishing itself as mine? I don't entirely understand and I don't want to screw anything up by way of that lack of understanding.

@Soroza

Obsidian Portal: Unfortunately that's a failing of the website design. Your best bet is to make sure that any "+"s are not directly next to any letters, and you don't have 2 "+"s on the same line as one another. Sometimes it is fickle and underlines stuff anyway, even with those precautions.

Excel Sheet:

Okay, at the bottom of the sheet you'll see a bunch of tabs. Click on the tab for "Soroza Alessio" That brings you to your tab for your inventory.

Then, you can fill in the names of your items (the cells that have been widened considerably to account for names). You'll notice 3 golden columns. You can edit those golden columns, and the sheet will automatically account for the math for the rest. The golden columns are "lbs" (the weight of ONE of the item), "No." (the number of said item you have, such as for ammo or trail rations or whatever), and "Gold" (the gold value of the item).

Do NOT write in the narrow white columns, this will overwrite the equations that automatically calculate stuff for you.

The lines in green show you your totals. It sums up the total weight of all your stuff (weapons and armor and items) and another sum for stuff assumed to be in your backpack (everything except what you have equipped, and your money, which is in your coin purse). It also sums the value of everything you own, which is more useful to myself as GM than to you, really.

There is also a small cell that says "carrying capacity". That is intended for you to write out your carrying capacity limits (light/medium/heavy) for your own reference. You can check out Anthony Read's tab for an example of a completed inventory sheet.

If you have anymore questions let me know :)

Oh gods. Tabs at the bottom. Duh. If I'd realized that I would have understood 90% of what I needed to. Thanks for mentioning not to accidentally overwrite the white column: I may not have sussed that on my own.

@GMOL:

I was actually about to post the birthday but I refreshed the page before I put in the post. Lets go down the list.

Q&A:

1. Anthony's been in Falcon's Hollow for almost a year. Unless its a problem, he's probably been a body guard for Laurel before as she's likely one of the only other people in the area willing to tolerate his appearance.

He's been traveling from town to town for the past three years since his eighteenth birthday.

2. I mentioned the religious texts because they seem to be the primary source of philosophy in Golarion. He respects all the good Gods but doesn't pay any fealty to a particular one. Aroden in particular is like a superhero for Anthony, and his precepts on free will also attract his attention.

Sarenrae's teachings are also a huge influence on him, though with the things he deals with, its a little difficult to be nonlethal. He tries not to kill when he can, however. I wanted to emphasize this so it isn't a strange shock when I go for Dervish Dance.

3. He hasn't seen his Father or Stepmother since he left home three years ago, but he does write to them, though its always addressed "Dear Mother...". He's still upset with his father, but mostly because he's the person he loves and respects most and he hasn't gotten over the betrayal he felt when he left. His Father still writes back to him with the letters from his stepmother, but he doesn't read his Father's letters.

4. I was originally imagining him to have been completely self-taught, but I think it would be more interesting for him to have another past character tie-in. Here's what I've got so far: A wandering Swordsman named Fox Lawson with a drinking problem. After being kicked out of a bar for not paying, Anthony helped him out off the streets with what little money he had and Fox repaid his kindness by teaching him to use the rapier effectively.

Crunchy stuff:

1. Right I dunno why I thought that. I'll fix that up.

2. For some reason I thought that I get bonus cantrips for high intelligence.

3. Oh, haha you're right, I can't believe I left that out.

4. Yeah, I didn't even look at the languages available to Tieflings. Its a little weird to me that they don't have the human languages as bonus languages.

5. Thanks for that too, I guess I missed a bunch of things on my sheet the first time around.

Thanks for the Secret, I dig it. Will be changing my skills around and adding in Short Term/Long Term goals sometime soon.

@Anthony Read

Thanks! Working for Laurel is fine. She's actually been having problems lately that would require a bodyguard's help with... I added a secret for you on Laurel's character page for you on that. If you want to add some embellishments to your backstory pertaining to it, have at it!

Yeah, it is weird to me also that tieflings don't have access to human languages. There are a lot of weird rules things about tieflings/aasimar construction rules. (The biggest one for me is that their starting age is 70 yo+ when they age like humans)

You don't ever gain bonus cantrips, even if you have 80 intelligence! Strange, but true. :) Bonus Spell Rules

Back to business, as a bona-fide technophobe, importing Herral's image is beyond my obsidian-fu. I'll work on the info once its finalised. But today its church and I am teaching Maths to a friend's son.

Out of interest, have your clocks gone forward this morning in the US?

When you add a character, at the bottom of the page is an orange button for uploading a picture.

Make sure you click the big blue save button afterwards or nothing will happen. (...I do this often.)

Sometimes the servers are grumpy and don't register it. In that case, wait an hour.

Thanks GMoL, that worked nicely, I have uploaded that image as per your instructions. I'll gradually move the bio and description over.

Cheers

Slowly getting this page taken care of!

Should be done soon enough, most of the basics are there, at least.

Edit: NPCs (Adrac's family in Falcon's Hollow) added! And yes, Cassia might have caught something nasty...

Female Human (Chelaxian) Ranger (Urban Ranger/Divine Tracker) 1, AC 17 (Touch 13, Flat-Footed 14), HP:-2/11, Fort. +3 Ref. +5 Will. +1, CMD 15, Initiative +3

Question: I see Anthony Read has some additional formatting done for his coins... How do I arrange mine like that so it can be tracked properly.

I feel like GMoL addressed this once, but I just scanned through the thread and couldn't locate that information. Apologies if I'm having anyone repeat themselves!

@Soroza

I added copper/silver/gold/platinum to everyone's sheets and they should be mathing stuff up correctly! Hurray excel!

Simply type your amounts in the gold column and everything else should math for you.

@Davi Accerlas

Reviewed your wiki stuff.

Questions:
1. When was Davi’s last contact with her brother?
2. How long has she been traveling with Laurel, specifically? (Laurel has been on the road for 5 days now) Here is basically her itinerary:

a. Day 0: Started in Falcon’s Hollow
b. Day 1: Rode to Olfden
c. Day 2: Stayed a day in Olfden selling wares to merchants
d. Day 3: Rode to Inn of the Wood
e. Day 4: Rode to Oregent
f. Day 5: Stayed a day in Oregent, selling wares
g. Day 6: Where the adventure starts. Laurel rides from Oregent to Inn of the Wood.

3. What does Davi’s family trade in?
4. When is her birthday? ;D
5. Is Davi religious at all? (A Shelynite, perhaps?)
6. Who taught Davi her dashing swashbuckler moves?

Crunch:
1. I’m only seeing a 16 point buy for your stats. We’re running on a 20 point buy so you still have points to spend! (Str 8 (Cost -2), Dex 16 (Cost 10), Con 14 – 2 racial = Con 12 (Cost 5), Int 10 (Cost 0), Wis 8 + 2 racial = Wis 10 (Cost -2), Cha 14 + 2 racial = Cha 16 (Cost 5)
2. Davi has access to one more starting language from the following list: Dwarven, Elven, Gnoll, Goblin, Orc, Aklo, Draconic, Giant
3. For the trait “Friend in Every Town” you must select either diplomacy or knowledge local and gain a +1 trait bonus to one of these.
4. You have two social traits but I honestly don’t care since they don’t stack the same bonus.
5. Your character sheet (on obsidian portal) is missing your armor. I don’t care if your gear is listed on there, but any equipped items need to be!

Other than that, I need you to add your gear to the excel inventory sheet when you get a chance.

I also added a secret for you on Davi’s page. Hope you like it!

@Soroza Alessio

Reviewing your stuff so far.

Right now I still need from you:

  • To copy/paste and/or refine your background onto Obsidian portal
  • To list your long term and short term goals
  • A birthday!
  • To add 2 NPCs connected to Soroza to Obsidian Portal. I’m assuming one will be Rebecca d’Eradi. I would really love to see more info on her!
  • To state how Soroza has found herself on this cart with Laurel the alchemist and this motley crew. Is she paying to be there or was she hired? Something else?

Questions:
1. How long has Soroza been in Andoran?
2. How long has it been since Soroza left Rebecca d’Eradi?

So let’s go on to your crunch. It looks pretty good so far.

1. The trait “convincing liar” requires membership with the Bellflower Network (it came with the Faction Guide splatbook). I’m sorry if you mentioned that she’s a member and I just forgot. Otherwise, you have two options:

a. Option A: Make Soroza a member of the Bellflower Network. This actually fits in with the campaign and Soroza’s values really well. If you don’t know, they’re a Chelaxian based organization that frees Halfling slaves from Cheliax. The leader is supposedly an Andoren, to boot. Herral Hinn is himself an escaped slave from Cheliax, as well.
b. Option B: Pick a different third trait. =P

2. Convincing Liar and Calistrian Courtesian are also both social traits, but as mentioned before on other peoples’ submissions, I don’t care that much as long as they don’t stack up the same bonus.

More questions concerning Calistria:

• Is Soroza a hedonist? In what way(s)? Sex? Food? Money?
• Does Soroza wear any visible symbols of Calistria? I noticed she does not carry a holy symbol. Why?
• Does she wear the common clothes of Calistria? (Yellow silks, henna tattoos)

@Adrac Rhaddyn

Checking your stuff out…

I need from you:

  • To add your inventory to the excel sheet.
  • I made separate NPC pages for your family members. Please add some pictures! =)
  • And a birthday!

Questions:

1. Adrac is a follower of Irori. How does he worship him?
2. How long has Adrac been in Andoran?
3. When did Adrac catch up with Laurel? At Oregent?

Crunch:

1. Adrac is one feat short. You have Dodge and Improved Initiative listed. Adrac should have one feat (for being 1st level), one bonus feat (for being human), and one bonus monk feat (for being a level 1 monk). Hurray, more feats!

@Herral Hinn

Alright… now your turn, lol.

I need from you:

  • To add your inventory to the excel sheet for easier tracking of weight.
  • I’d like for you to make character pages on Obsidian Portal for Maginnis Boodlenips (I love that name, by the way), Tinkin and Violar Martel, and for Algerno Sergreve.

Questions:

Sorry I don’t have as many questions for you, ha! Your background is incredibly solid.

1. Does Herral openly wear symbols of Desna?
2. What is a piecage?

Crunch:
1. Inquisitors don’t have access to Mending, so you need to pick a different 0 level spell. Inquisitor Spell List

Hey friends, last word in before I go to bed as I work in the morning:

Right now the only person who has a completed PC is Anthony Read, so I’m going to delay the first day of the campaign to Wednesday to give you guys more time to get your stuff ready.

If you want to hop into Gameplay and chit-chat with Laurel I’ll be happy to roleplay with you, but the action (aka, Laurel and the group arriving at the Inn of the Wood) will not start until Wednesday.

I've made lots of additions to the wiki as well so take a gander! Remember that you guys are free to edit what you want, add any articles you want to expand upon your characters. I have secret GM only notes on most of the pages so you literally can't mess things up. There is also a tab for campaign journals if you are so inclined! (Many of your PCs are actually carrying journals, it'd be cool to see what they write down hinthintnudgenudge)

Anyways, I have spent my entire day off working on the campaign, trying to straighten out how I am going to integrate all of your storylines into the stuff I already have prepped. It’s not finished (largely because a few of you haven’t finished your obsidian portal entries) but I managed to get some good headway in. I’m hoping to devote at least one over-arcing plot arc to each of your characters. Due to the different scopes of your plot hooks (Adrac simply wanting to be reunited with his family vs. Anthony Read’s demonic heritage, for example) some of you will get a lot of storyline attention quick and early, while others won’t have full resolution until the very end. I’m going to try my best to keep stuff sprinkled out between the six of you, but please don’t be upset if it takes awhile for things to gain traction.

Anyway, just to give you guys an overview of what to expect:

Adrac Rhaddyn:

Adrac has some of the easiest goals to satisfy. Indeed, as soon as the first module is completed (Into the Haunted Forest, which is a fairly short) he’ll be back in Falcon’s Hollow and reunited with his family. I have some (predictable) stuff planned for the character pertaining to Hollow’s Last Hope and Crown of the Kobold King. Adrac will be pretty front heavy in this way, with most of his integrated story occurring very quickly, but with less integration in the higher levels of the camapaign.

After that, I expect Adrac to take personal interest in the town’s corruption and other affairs because of his family’s presence. It is up to you if you wish for Adrac to continue adventuring beyond Falcon’s Hallow with his new friends (hopefully he considers them friends lol) or to have him retire with his family back to Absalom and roll up a new character.

You might be interested to know that in Crown of the Kobold King there is a friendly Kobold NPC that I’d be willing for you to adopt as a PC if you wish. It will be easier to integrate a Kobold PC this way (through the vouching of the then-established adventuring group, which indeed already has ties to local law enforcement through Anthony Read) than as a lvl 1 unknown PC from the beginning. The NPC in question is also a slave, which gives the character some serious brownie points in Andoran. It is up to you. =) If this interests you, let me know in a PM, and I can share with you some details about him (or her, if you wish to gender swap him) so you can start building the character.

Anthony Read:

I have some brainstormed material for you ready to go. Basically I intend for Anthony’s entire story to revolve around discovering the influence of the Silken Fang on his life, with an eventual showdown with monster in question.

The big problems here are: Demons (or demonic cultists) don’t have much a presence in Andoran so it will hard for this storyline to be relevant for a long time. Furthermore, the statblock I’ve got set up for the Silken Fang makes him pretty tough, so the showdown with the monster would likely be a capstone for the entire campaign. In fact, I have decided to move the final level of the campaign to be level 13 (not level 12) to accommodate for the challenges I want to face the group with.

However, I expect Anthony’s good nature will lead him to find other goals to keep him busy in the meantime.

Davi Accerlas:

Davi’s story fits into the goings on of Darkmoon Vale like a freaking glove. There will be stuff pertaining to her history early on. I hope that the secret I shared with you on her page was sufficiently tantalizing and mysterious!

Davi’s storyline will end towards the middly-end of the campaign. I expect for her showdown with her mother to occur somewhere between levels 7 and 10. This is largely because around this time I expect the group to move on from Darkmoon Vale and face bigger challenges in the rest of Andoran, so I want Davi's changeling story to be complete by then. I expect it to be memorable regardless.

Herral Hinn:

Herral’s goals are less of the “dungeon crawly” variety and more of a social/roleplay nature, so his attainment of them will be dependent on your (and the group’s) actions in Darkmoon Vale.

I’m not sure if you are still interested in involvement with the Twilight Talons, but if you still are, we will certainly go in that direction, and I have some cool ideas for adventures of that nature.

Your background is fantastic and chock-full of story hooks for me to use, so Herral is really easy to integrate into the campaign. Early on, the presence of his burgeoning pie business and religious inclinations gives him plenty to do in Falcon’s Hollow. Towards the middling levels, I expect to start introducing the Eagle Knights and Andoren military characters, and their interest in freeing slaves Golarion-wide will likely perk up Herral’s interest. Perhaps some work with the Bellflower Network as well?

In the later levels, Maginnis Boodlenips makes a great BBEG for the character, as well as investigating the fate of his friend in the necropolis. (I know this means that a very long time will pass before we can tackle what happened with the necropolis, but I thought it over and I can’t justify running a low-level necropolis adventure.. I mean come on it’s a necropolis!!) So if you want to fix the background to have Algerno leave for the necropolis…sometime later… that could help.

Soroza Alessio:

So I’m waiting for you to finish things on your end before coming up with any concrete plans for Soroza, but I’m thinking the nature of her enemies will make most sense towards the middle levels of the campaign (levels 6-10).

Soroza’s short-term goals revolve around the brothel in Falcon’s Hollow, so that will keep her busy for a good long time in the meantime. I’m highly interested in seeing how she tackles the situation.

In the long-term, Soroza’s anti-slavery interests could make her an ideal candidate for the Eagle Knights. If you decide to make her a member of the Bellflower Network, she would share adventures with Herral Hinn, as I plan to have Herral repay the Bellflower Network with services of his own towards the middle of the campaign regardless of your decision with Soroza.

If the whole party becomes interested in an anti-slavery bent, we could go on some naval adventures and bust up some slave ships towards the end of the campaign. However, the whole group would need to be on board with that sort of thing. (I expect they will be, looking at their motivations at the moment, all of them are highly repulsed by the idea of slavery.)

Tarkus Shieldsplitter:

Hey, hope your family is feeling better! Hope you don’t wind up sick yourself!

Right now I can’t really work much with Tarkus until you have his NPCs done and his backstory completed on Obsidian Portal.

I can tell you that there will be plenty of dwarfy stuff early on in the campaign to interest Tarkus. There are a number of dwarven ruins in the area that I plan to gradually expand upon as the adventure goes on.

You’ve mentioned you want Tarkus to be a sort-of sheriff in the area, and he will find plenty of stuff that needs a-sheriffing in Darkmoon Vale, that’s for sure. Multiple other PCs have a strong anti-slavery bent, which you have mentioned that Tarkus would likely share. There is a good chance that we will go in that direction eventually.

Overall it seems that Tarkus is going to figure out what he wants to do as he learns more about the area and its problems, and that's fine! :) I just wanted to communicate as such with you beforehand in case you get jealous of some of the custom work I have going for the other PCs.

Stream of response at seven am while everyone else sleeps on my day off.

Herral openly wears his holy symbol as a traveler and drummer. He finds it a useful means of starting (and ending) conversation.

A birdcage is listed in equipment, this is a similar costed item. The only difference is that Herral's box contains pies not birds! One nice little aim for him is to find a spell/elven leaves? that can keep his food fresh on journeys. Kind of like gentle repose for pies!

I'll do the character pages and equipment sheet by Wednesday. Same for replacing mending.

DM only

Spoiler:
You have summed up Herral nicely. Initially I see him establishing a cover. Then comes the sneaky stuff. As for Algerno, I'd prefer to maintain this background and make references to his mentor, sprinkled into conversation.

Edit: Maginnis came from a home campaign as a tinker gnome with a wagon. He always kept one or two magical curios.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Ranger (Urban Ranger/Divine Tracker) 1, AC 17 (Touch 13, Flat-Footed 14), HP:-2/11, Fort. +3 Ref. +5 Will. +1, CMD 15, Initiative +3

@GMoL:

Ooof on Convincing Liar. I was on d20PFSRD when I was scouring through traits, and I often forget they strike proprietary fluff from the traits. Going on the title and mechanics, it fit the personality I was building so I picked it up. I'll get everything retooled today.

As far as all the fluff stuff, I'm fleshing out (a lot) her backstory on Obsidian Portal right now. Particularly I'm working another NPC into her recent history since everyone other than Rebecca is dead (sad trombone). On top of that Rebecca is a largely adversarial presence, and Soroza could use a friend.

Everything on your list, as well as behind that spoiler and in the message you sent me yesterday, should be addressed by the end of the day today. I've got the day off and no other responsibilities so everything should be pretty well refined by the end of the day.

EDIT:

Also, I got Calistrian Courtesan from Ultimate Campaign, where it is listed as a Religion Trait.

EDIT Part 2, Electric Boogaloo:

Soroza's birthday is 21st of Desnus, 4678. For quick reference, at the moment it's sort of buried in her back story.

@Soroza

Sounds good! My bad on Calistrian Courtesian.
