I didnt say I activated because I ASSUMED init would be rolled immediately.. but then people got to do attacks and other standard actions. My swift is less than a standard so if we go by surprise round ideology I would have. Now would it be better if I said I bane'd?
You may Bane, yes. Judgement has some odd duration shenanigans that makes it seems as though it only works one combat has started, never before.
I missed that Sledge drank that Extract just now (I thought he'd drunk it earlier). He should not have been able to, as there was no Surprise round. Zin's action initiated combat, and nobody else was aware combat was about to begin, precisely )otherwise the Werewolves would have each had an action).
So Sledge is still Medium.
Jones Shei'lac |
Jones cartwheels toward the visible werewolf, then Studies and slashes at it.
Acrobatics + insp: 1d20 + 12 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + (4) + 1 = 24
Silver Blanch Rapier: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Darius Ral'algul |
I'll be fair and just Bane on my turn then thats fair.
Darius howls and lunges at the Wolf with his whip the tip blazing as it reaches him.
Charging Powerful Mutagen Shapechanger Bane Grimoire Whipping: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Powerful Mutagen Shapechanger Bane Grimoire Whipping Damage: 1d3 + 13 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 13 + (5, 2) = 23
Rynjin |
Darius' whip slices into the wolf's face, leaving silver fire in its wake.
Jones narrowly avoids being slashed by the creature's Greatsword as he ducks underneath and buries his rapier in its side.
The werewolf retaliates, swinging his Greatsword then bringing his great jaws down on Jones.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Greatsword damage: 2d8 + 18 ⇒ (5, 8) + 18 = 31
The sword takes Jones in the upper shoulder, though he manages to lean backwards just in time to have it draw blood and scrape across his armor rather than taking his left arm clean off.
Jones, take 31 damage.
Zin, you're up.
Rynjin |
I need to seriously start jacking thing's to-hit.
Duristan steps in and Lunges at the werewolf.
Sword: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
Confirm?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Damage: 2d8 + 28 ⇒ (1, 6) + 28 = 35
Duristan cleaves the huge beast's head from its shoulders!
A howl of grief comes from the woods, and out of the darkness from the north a werewolf charges, straight for Duristan!
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Damage: 3d6 + 21 ⇒ (6, 5, 5) + 21 = 37
Duristan staggers at the unusually powerful blow.
Sledge, you're up.
Edit: Save for Vollensag 2.
Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Does that make it? It doesn't change the outcome either way.
Samuel Sledge |
Have any of the werewolves not acted yet, or is the one past my initiative not in my sight?
Samuel Sledge |
Swift action to gain lunge, assuming that's necessary to avoid an AoO.
Sledge delivers a crushing blow to the nearest werewolf. Nvm threatening a crit.
Sledge slams one foot into the ground causing a cloud of dirt to spring up, before driving off of it into a flying back kick to the skull of the nearest werewolf.
"DIE!"
Pummeling Charge:
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
1d8 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
1d8 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d8 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
IT'S OVER
Pummeling Crit - only applies if the crit confirms and the related attack hits, if I understand correctly.
CONFIRM PUMMELBOYS?!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
1: 1d8 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
2: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
3: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Darius Ral'algul |
No the crit is basically the whole amount of attacks that hit so you roll your highest to confirm but the damage is the attacks that critted in this case it would be 46 + 44 for 90 points of damage
Rynjin |
46+47 for 93 it looks like to me. Either way, DED.
The wolf's corpse flies backwards and slams into a nearby tree, its head squashed to a pup by the dual impact.
The third werewolf deigns not to show itself.
Combat over, unless you decide to pursue it.
Samuel Sledge |
That's not a new attack, I think. Still gets the super damage from Dragon Ferocity.
Rynjin |
Ah, right.
How fast can Darius move? And remember, there are a lot more than just these three wolves wandering the woods.
70 feet out from the clearing Darius finds some hybrid wolf footprints, that quickly change to the four legged tracks of a Dire Wolf.
That's not a new attack, I think. Still gets the super damage from Dragon Ferocity.
Pummeling Style already does a LOT. As this is very iffy, I'ma say no.
Samuel Sledge |
Whatevs. Not a big deal (though technically that would be a dragon style thing, as the question is "Does the half-strength bonus of dragon ferocity get multiplied on a crit?". Since it seems to be a 1 1/2 str weapon, I'd say so, but it's fine if you disagree.
Sledge can run/charge even if it's difficult terrain, if that helps hunt it.
Jones Shei'lac |
Want an Acute Senses?
Darius Ral'algul |
Its not iffy at all it simply doesnt work that way, now funnily enough The whole Dragon Style thing its your FIRST attack that hits that gets the bonus damage. Either way its your entire attack cits which means the rolls that hit crit.. not the first attack. Darius remembers he just isnt worried, sadly his movement is only 20
Darius curses as the last wolf easily outpaces him getting annoyed and howling at the sky in frustration. " COWAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRDDDDSS! "
Rynjin |

It does, but the second punch would not, is what we're saying.
Samuel Sledge |
Ok.
"Well, that was entertaining."
One use of martial flex expended.
Darius Ral'algul |
Darius growls, " We have a problem however. I didnt feel that wolf lying. If that is the case we have a much bigger problem here than before. Damn that pup for getting away! We couldnt interrogate one of them. If what they say is true the Ascanor Lodge has some.. things to answer for. "
Zin'Retatarianna Mor |
Z descends to the ground and walks over to the corpse of the Werewolf who first spoke to them, kicking it, "So much talk."
"Why do you even bother to hunt these pathetic things Darius? So much bravado and so little ability to back it up; they might as well fall on their own swords."
"And these were supposed to be some of the most primal and strongest of their kind? How f~+*ing disappointing."
Darius Ral'algul |
" You make yourself sound ignorant when you speak Zin. These are some of the strongest in this area and had it not been for the lives of those 4 that now lay dead and our time to prepare it could have very much been you. Preparation makes any threat seem less dangerous than it actually is. Within werewolf kind there are still castes, these were the WEAKEST of their clan. "
Darius snarls, " You arent seeing the grand issue here. "
Darius Ral'algul |
" Do you realize that potions are not a renewable resource? Why would he waste such assuming he can even do so when you have the ability to do so and recover the ability another time. You sound childish. If we encounter more it is not like you will NEED to even utilize your spells much. You have plenty of lesser spells.. I KNOW this. "
Zin'Retatarianna Mor |
Turning to Duristan, "I've heard such before. I have to admit, it hurts my feelings. I think I'm a lovely woman."
Z shrugs, "You want me to heal you instead of potions, huh? Ok then."
Z's arms burns bright with her fires and she approaches Duristan and runs her hands along his wounds, searing them shut with burning fire. It hurts. Remember this s#+&?
CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
After she's finished, "How's that?"
Jones Shei'lac |
Jones rolls his eyes.
"I have plenty of resources left for lesser extracts. This should alleviate most of your remaining injuries...along with the burns you have just received."
He hands Duristan two CLW extracts.
CLWx2: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 5) + 10 = 20
Darius Ral'algul |
" I appreciate the effort Jones.. Now lets go back to the Lodge.. I have questions to ask. Duristan.. I apologize for the loss of your help.. I knew this would not go without blood. "
Rynjin |
"Of course. Master Lozarov is less busy today. Please, follow me."
Belik leads Darius (and anyone else who comes along) to the south tower, and Estovion's personal library/study. Belik knocks on the door.
"There's someone here to speak with you, sir."
"Send them in!" Estovion says through the door, though he sounds irritated.
The door opens to find him at his desk, busy writing in a journal. He looks up to notice you.
"Yes?"
Darius Ral'algul |
Darius folded his arms.. he needed.. something else first as he is sure his accusation from the.. mouth of the Werewolf was not something that would be take well.
" Hello there.. i believe earlier you had said when you had time it would be possible to allow us access to your library.. as such would assist the 'Order' I was wondering if that request had gone through. "
Darius Ral'algul |
" Ofcourse... Now.. " Darius goes around to try and find the book he could not find before.. as well as any other information on Werewolves.
Jones Shei'lac |
"A book called 'Halo of Dreams', under Religion."
