lets keep the treasure, the iron pot and the potions should come in handy, Taldo loves the halberd and Maelius and Seraphina should be able to use the spears right? That gives us 68 gp. to resupply with.

I have a feeling Origen will be allocating his projects budget toward the active cult in Gisli at present. Although, if you track down Oz (should still be in that pub across from the Guard barracks) he could sign his share off. Rather than making you RP all this, we'll just let it be understood that that's what happened.

The Little Game Master |
Okay, here's what I'm thinking in terms of your new levels:
Seraphina: level in Oracle of Life
Maelius: level in Sandman (bard archetype)
Taldo: Level in Brawler
thoughts?
If Sera agrees, I'll do a little story to apply your level. The other two are already kinda there.
The Little Game Master |
@Sera: I was thinking Tongues as your curse with Celestial being your tongue. Thought that was fitting.
Taldo: yeah, watching you play, you didn't strike me as a barbarian, especially given your choice of weapon. As far as the shyness, I think it would fit that the more enemies you take down, the more confident you become.
Maelius Boni |
One concern I have with Sandman is that it trades out the most standard useful Bard ability for one that requires a touch attack to succeed. Maelius isn't really going to be hitting anything with a touch attack.
The Little Game Master |
Taldo: roll HP
Maelius, I understand your reservations, I was mostly going for a debuffer Bard archetype, do you have a better suggestion? If not, I'll allow your character to use inspire courage in place of Stealspell.
The Little Game Master |
Now that you mention it, that actually fits your character better anyway. Yeah, so 1 level of Court Bard for Maelius.
The Little Game Master |
Just assume that each of the merchants have what you need and will sell it to you at the SRD price +20% unless you want to try your hand at appraisal to get closer to the actual price. The divine magic items at the temple are only +10%.
If you think what you're trying to buy is rare or exotic in some way (anything eastern for instance) run it by me first to see if it's sold here.
Maelius Boni |
Maelius is a mule person as well. So I think everybody should get a ranger's kit. Sera might want a cleric's kit instead. We can also get a riding kit per animal we buy, and a large tent for the guys and a small tent for Sera?
Taldo the Tanner |
looking at the things that need purchased, Taldo will purchase a suit of chainmail and something a little more sophisticated to use with the shield, instead of the club and short sword, I think his primary weapon will still be the halberd, he has grown fond of it.
on the transportation end the total party is five, correct: Mael Sera, Taldo, Rory and his father Lore, is the little brother Allen coming along or is he staying with Mrs. Strudwick. So do we want five riding animals, horses and/or Mules. Or, do we want a wagon? Can we get to where we are going in a wagon? Med. size would do, I believe. do we want a wagon with a couple of out riders? would we need tents if we sleep in and under the wagon? med wagon 75 gp. 2 mules 16 gp horse 75 - 300gp, those are not with the 20% mark up. five riding horses would be 375 gp. + 60 gp. for tack (without 20%). A wagon two mules two light warhorses w/tack would be 335 gp. (without 20%. first option we would be buying feed for five beasts, second option feed four beasts, just ideas, Mael and Sera what do you think, do either of you ride?
Maelius Boni |
I think a wagon is a pretty good idea. How deep do we want to get into this logistics stuff though? Taldo's calculations seem fine to me to get us to where we need to go. And the Wagon is a good idea.
Seraphina Newton |
Sera could ride but she isn't trained in it. I small tent for herself would be nice. I plan on getting a small tent, bedroll, backpack, a couple torches, flint. We have the 300 from Origen + 3/68 from the cave loot. A total of 333 gp 3 sp.

TLGM hand waived the 300 gp., or so I thought, for Taldo. In my earlier post my emphasis is we need to by gear for Lore and Rory also, right?
Seraphina Newton |
Strength 8 = light load is 27 lbs
So I had started with:
sling with 10 bullets (5 lbs)
dagger (2 lbs)
healer's kit (1 lbs)
Sarenrae wooden symbol (-- lbs)
set of priestess clothing (-- lbs)
I plan on buying:
1 small tent: 12gp (20 lbs)
Masterwork Backpack: 60gp (4 lbs)
1 bedroll: 1sp (5 lbs)
Haramaki aka belly warmer: 6 gp (1 lbs)
Diplomacy to get price down: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
I would put my tent, bedroll on the wagon. I have no problems contributing to the purchase of a wagon/mules. Total gold for the set-up is 84. I could put 30 gp towards it.
So after purchases I would have 333-12-60-6-30 = 225gp, 9sp
Does that sound good?
The Little Game Master |
I don't think Rory or Lore would take Allen on a risky adventure, no. Haha.
Also, Rory and Lore are rich enough to get their own gear.
Finally, it's an appraisal check to get the prices down. These salespeople are nice, but no matter how much they like you, they're going to sell you their stuff for the price that you think its worth. Which is 20% higher unless you know otherwise.
Yeah otherwise, good plan!
Next note: if anyone has a high Appraisal bonus, feel free to gather up all the money and make purchases on everyone else's behalf.
Taldo the Tanner |
TLGM sorry for not wrapping this up quicker, is four mirror armor available, the reason I am asking is the description of it is that it is warn over other armor (chain mail normally) If it's available taldo would buy it and wear it over his home made hide armor, so he's upgrading but still looking haphazardly thrown together, if it's not available or if this is mechanically a bad idea he will purchase chain mail and sell his home made armor.
Second he will buy a warhammer and shortsword to use with his shield, he will keep the shortspear and throw away the wooden club. Also will purchase a rangers kit and chip in 1/3 for the wagon idea.
how many days travel to where we are going? need to buy food, for men and beasts, once we are there Is there a town nearby to purchase more food or are we out in the sticks?
last question, once we determine if he is purchasing four-mirror or chain mail armor do you want to rollplay it out in the game thread or hand wave the purchases and get us on the road?
The Little Game Master |
Sorry, four-mirror is unavailable for purchase, however, you can have it made. It'll take a week.
You know that the land of Grimstad (specifically the settlement of Gognanburg) is a day's (16-18 hours) horse-back ride from Gisli, and according to Lore, it's another day's ride from there to the temple which is high and deep inside a nearby-ish mountain.
As for making purchases, feel free to role play them, if for no other reason than to know when you've all finished picking out and buying your supplies.
Maelius Boni |
Ok.
100 Chain mail
35 light crossbow
4 40 bolts
9 ranger's kit
10 explorer's outfit
30 theives tools
(100+35+4+9+10+30)*1.2 is 225.6 = 107.4 left. Have enough to contribute to the wagon and mules and feed.
Maelius Boni |
Hey is it okay if I use 'fractional base bonuses' from unchained for Maelius? Instead of a 1 Bard/1 Expert having a BAB of 0 as it is currently, It means that I get a (rounded down) 0.75 BAB from Expert 1 and a 0.75 BAB from Bard 1 which is a BAB of 1.
The Little Game Master |
Hear Ye, Hear Ye I do declare that these fractional base bonuses are perfectly legal! For all players, not just Maelius.
The Little Game Master |
Apologies for the delay, my internet's been down the past two weeks. Needless to say I'm absolutely steaming.
Onward, though...
