the DM did say (if i remember correctly) that HOPF-given levels could stack with existing levels, such as taking 3 levels of assassin and then taking the Prestigious HOPF feat for 7 more levels.

but i dont recall him saying that we could use it to get our levels above 20 (since then we are epic in truth rather than the modified version of it).

i also did not do advanced race builder.

also my city is more of a story thing, it is still ruins and provides me no mechanical benefit other than a place to live.

Ditto for my ship. Of course it's a warship, so if there were a large outdoor battle it could have a significant effect, but again that's more about overarching plot.

I deliberately did not give myself anything more than a decent sized outpost. I could have said I re-took Myth Dranor, or close to it, but I figured that wouldn't be as much fun as making it happen in game.

Also,
I just looked over the Sharn. Its way too powerful. Perhaps in a game where you just play as a monster, it would be fine. Hell, even if one played a Sharn with class levels, it wouldn't be that bad.

However, coupled with HOPF, its broken, in the extreme, which is exactly what you did. By taking Rogue, you have utterly exploited the Hex Portal power, allowing you to pretty much always have a flank, pretty much always allowing Sneak Attack.

Add lots of spellcasting on to that, more so than even the base Sharn gets, is just insane.

i dont think you can intimidate spirits with Speak with Dead.

i am pretty sure its not even that person you are talking to but a fragment of their soul that is left, and if i remember correctly they cant even deceive you, just answer your questions precisely as asked or tell you they dont know.

DESCRIPTION

You grant the semblance of life to a corpse, allowing it to answer questions. You may ask one question per two caster levels. The corpse's knowledge is limited to what it knew during life, including the languages it spoke. Answers are brief, cryptic, or repetitive, especially if the creature would have opposed you in life.

If the dead creature's alignment was different from yours, the corpse gets a Will save to resist the spell as if it were alive. If successful, the corpse can refuse to answer your questions or attempt to deceive you, using Bluff. The soul can only speak about what it knew in life. It cannot answer any questions that pertain to events that occurred after its death.

If the corpse has been subject to speak with dead within the past week, the new spell fails. You can cast this spell on a corpse that has been deceased for any amount of time, but the body must be mostly intact to be able to respond. A damaged corpse may be able to give partial answers or partially correct answers, but it must at least have a mouth in order to speak at all. This spell does not affect a corpse that has been turned into an undead creature.

So its not really undead its talk to dead. Its why she had not used Command undead. But I see your point, if it is true undead she can just comand it to tell here as an Undead with high Int etc, which she can make. But where is the fun in that :) lets say ts CE so gets a will save to use bluff.

yep and I kind of did a small GM to get it going and it made the roll so it will try and bluff use per Question.

where would be the fun in it just spilling the beans :)


Well, since the DM seems MIA, anyone have an objection to me getting the char I have on paper typed up and in the game? I wasn't expecting the DM to be incommunicado like this.

Think we can say the World GM has walked away, right now storms and things in RL have us slowed up but if you want to show up we can RP meet and greet no need for GM in fact you can show up with some bad guys in tow

Its been almost a month since Dogblade posted. While I am not saying he has truly abandoned us, I believe its time to really move on.

I have some plans and goals in mind, but I will not run this all by myself, particularly the combats. I'll handle this current one, beyond that, I will expect some assistance.

I also want a fellow PC to jump in and run the plots I specifically have planned for Akor. A lot of it will be interaction/social scenes, so you do not need to worry about some massive, epic crazy battle or anything...

Thankfully, with the way this game was set up, if Dogblade is in fact just felled by a bad computer and other things beyond his control, he'll easily be able to come in and do as he planned.

Thoughts?

You got it Akor,
this Sand box idea only works if we all chip in when its needed and stand back when another player has an idea running.

Means PMing each other or posting here links in a looks but I played like this many times before and its all down to a team thing.

Case in point At the moment I have a GM ready of Bluff us on what been going on here, did the rolls for it as its a simple NPC, but the Bluff in needs to come from the main player over seeing this (chunk) of the Sandbox game (player with the GM baton) also we have another player whos looking to "Be in place" etc.

So a fast PM to me "undead would bluff this run with that" and to the player looking to show up "Its a temple of this, run with that" kid of dos the trick.

Thing with PbP is if a player runs the wrong way with some thing, the player over seeing can just ask for a retro of the play until its back on track.

Thing thats good about this kind of play is it teaches you limits real fast as Munchkin's shows up real fast. Cool thing is my fellow players is I know most of you have lots of RPG XP and know Pathfinder well.
That counts for a hell of a lot in this kind of high level game.

So your not alone Akor, not by a long shot

Means a cool story can be made

I'm under the impression that it's a good deity been usurped by demons, but not entirely sure.

yep I think the idea is some thing out side has been bending the normal or things, We have outlaw Devils working demons who seem to have some kind of Taint, and a some thing called the Bortherhood who seem to have members every where in all aliniments the who, why things we have talked over here.


I'm still working on another concept and looking forward to jumping it at some opportune point.

It used to be a simple temple dedicated to Silvanus, one of the main nature deities. However, it has since been attacked and desecrated and now serves as a temple to Ghaunadaur, the Drow deity of slimes, oozes, etc.

Its location is northeast of Myth Dranor.


Anyone interested in adding mythic?

And I think we can keep them, as they are different enough from what one gains from mythic to not be too much of a problem.

Im seeing this as a kind of Ubar Mythic play test now, I likey

so I was thinking we should drop the drop the HOPF, BUT then I think we may be the only ones here testing the two to see if they work together.

I am very cool with that, we all are I think high level skilled players so I think we can give both a good test and report back to the site what we found.

If we do the mythic thing I'll need to make some minor rewrites. Nothing Crazy. A couple of feats and adding a few pieces of gear. That sort of thing. It'll be as if Sparel's had these thing the whole time. I imagine other's will want to do the same.

Couple of things:

1) definitely going with at least four tiers of Mythic, so go ahead and add them in. If you would be so kind, please add a separate spoiler'd section on your CS for your mythic ablities/spells/etc. Check out my alias Vaki for how I did it for the playtest he's in.

2) Combat is going to be the biggest hurdle in this game. Its long enough at lower levels, worse at high and can be down right scary with us being 20, adding in the HOPF AND Mythic.

So what I suggest is this: only important battles should actually be handled normally. Most of the stuff we fight can be easily defeated by one of us, let alone any sort of group.

To further aid in this, I suggest a little transparency. Whomever is running combat should, at the least let the rest of us know ACs and the total HP of each enemy. This way, if Sparel is the DM, and he tells us the fiendish dragon has an AC of 56 and I roll a 61 total, I know I hit, don't need to wait for Sparel, and I'll also know if I badly wounded or just barely hurt the dragon.

Save bonuses, immunities, resistances, etc would all help as well.

3) Finally, the issue of leveling. I am not sure how Dogblade was intending to level us, but I currently see three ways:

Normal Leveling, which would be we level to 21, picking some class, and gaining everything that class grants on top of what we already have.

The downfall here is figuring out just how to add stuff on. Do we just add the numbers straight? Pretty sure that's not the best way, since things get outta hand too quickly. Do we use the bonuses from 3.0 epic to BAB/Saves? etc..

Mythic type Leveling. Not just finishing off our Mythic tiers, but whenever we get enough XP to level, we gain bonuses of various and assorted sorts, but no actual full benefits of leveling. Things like SLAs, Supernatural effects, feats, etc

Buying Features, based on the 3rd party book, Complete Control. This lets you spend XP on buying all class features, including BAB, Saves, HD, and more.

Clearly limits would need to be put into place, based on group agreement, and only XP from the serious fights would be allowed to spend this way, with perhaps an increase to costs of the abilities, via a set multiplier, say x10, or something.

Just throwing ideas out there, and of course more suggestions and all feedback is welcome, as we our now all GMs here.
