Make sure to post so I know you are here.

Taskshaper reporting for whatever task you have for me. :D.

I will buy the pdf on the class today, since I am now officially using it.

So as a taskshaper I feel like planning is going to be super important.

Looking over character sheets, it seems our most glaring opportunity starting off is healing. I think once I get to lv 2 one of the Class abilities that I should pick up to mimic should be Channel Energy (as the cleric) or perhaps Lay on Hands (as a Paladin). Works in character concept too, Anatha probably witnessed the brethren of the temple healing the needy while he was being raised.

Anyone see anything else I should be considering as a level up grab since I will not see party members do it and just mimic them (like rage and air blast).

Hi, this is Andostre. Thanks for the consideration!

Hello, This is Adam. Thanks for having me.

M Human Braavosi Swashbuckler 6, Duelist 10

We are still waiting on Hanzir to post that he is ready.

Before we start I need you all to do the following things:

-If you do not have a gmail account, make one so you can access campaign information that i share to you. If you have any questions on how to make a gmail account just ask.
-Try out this link: Battle Map
-Tell me your gmail account so I can share an editable version of these items to you.

Ask lots of questions!

Hey, Syrio. Would you mind creating a profile for your alias "SyrioForel" so that I can send you my gmail account via private message? The account contains my real name, and while I'm not trying to keep it a secret from anyone here (my name is Jeff; hi!), but I'd rather not post it publicly. Thanks.

(I'm also not interested in maintaining a second gmail account.)

The map looks good. I've used Google Drawings in this manner before, so I'm assuming that there won't be any trouble.

I don't have a question, but I do want to talk about my archetype, the Beast Rider. The Beast Rider is able to select a new mount every level, if they want. At 4th and 7th level, there are pretty specific lists of mount options available. I just want to say that if there are other mounts more appropriate to Altheria, or that you think would be fun or interesting, please feel free to call them out!

Ditto all of this.

Gnixgnox (Jeff) I think all of us understand wanting to keep the healthy level of personal security with the internet. If Syrio isn't comfortable with PM's you could do what I did and create and alias email to your current gmail account.

I created grunvaldugenhal@gmail.com, it links to my primary email and I can answers email transparently from my normal email address.

Just a suggestion,
Grunval (Josh)

M Human Braavosi Swashbuckler 6, Duelist 10

My apologies for being so inconsiderate of your privacy.

I have created a profile, send me your email address when you get the chance.

We are going to start the campaign tomorrow probably, now that everyone is ready. Remember to post all questions in this tab as they come up and I will be sure to respond.

Hmm, still not working. No worries. Here it is. BC4 can add his also, if he wants.

I'll delete the doc when I've confirmed Syrio has both of our accounts.

Good suggestion, and I had considered that, but I worried that to view the battle map, I'd have to use Google's dual sign-in feature to switch over to the new account every time I wanted to edit the map.

Put mine in Gnixgnox's google doc.

Very strange that it won't let us PM you. Never seen that before.

Male Ragebred Barbarian (inactive)

I've already got three gmail accounts.
Just because.

I let my email client keep them sorted out most of the time.
I've not really had any security problems I'm aware of with them.

At the very least, GMail is pretty good discerning what's junk mail and spam.

@ SyrioForel:

I just updated Hanzir's profile to include the Fluff Questions.

To make it easier I use an incognito window from a browser so I don't need to worry about affecting my other gmail sessions.

Sorry about all of that guys.

Since we're all introducing ourselves by our real names-
Hi! I'm Christos. I don't know the difference between its and it's.
If you don't want to use your real name, that's fine too (not trying to pressure anyone)

That is one a lot of people who only speak English have trouble with.

"It's" = "It is" (verb contraction)
("It's a nice day today")

"Its" = "It is something that belongs to " (possessive pronoun)
("Look at that car; its wheels are round!")

I was almost 20 before I got that one right. :P

Everyone can call me "Guv"; as in "governor"!.
Just kidding!
First name is Malcolm, actually.

Please update your profile to include character stats below the name like Hanzir has.

Sorry, I forgot. It's up, now. I'll play around with the format when I get a chance, to see if I can improve it and maybe add my mount stats without it being too crowded.

M Human Braavosi Swashbuckler 6, Duelist 10

Thanks, whatever you think is best.

Male Ragebred Barbarian (inactive)

I found there's quite a bit of space in those bars.
Can be useful.

Male Gnome Taskshaper 1 | HP: 8/8 | AC: 14 [15 w/ shield] (t: 11; ff 13) | F: 2, R: 3, W: 3 | CMB: -1, CMD: 8 | Perc: 13 | Init 1 | MoC 0/4

GM & CoGM - Question about the Imprint Class Ability on Taskshaper. Won't matter until lv 2, so you have some time to consider...

When I start imprinting Aerokineticist abilities from Grunval, will I be able to Burn like he does? Improving the strength of Enveloping Winds or making use of the Extended Range Infusion?

Seems like I could, at least some of the way. I can only spend one moment of change per turn at early levels, so I can't add an infusion to a blast since I would need 1 for the blast and 1 for the infusion...I think.

Anyways, wanted to run it by you since I am brainstorming the direction the class is going.

Even if I do, using those is limited by my Moments of Change pool, so I won't be able to lay waste at will or do the level of damage that Grunval can.

Thanks for considering.

***

And on a related, but separate note: This is what I see in the party's feats (for lvl 1) and Class abilities (for lvl 2) that I think I will be able to imprint.

Just to help you prepare for the flexibility that my character will have once he sees the party in action (Not to mention what he observes from whatever it is we are fighting):

Feats to learn from Party: (Nothing too scary here right now)
Kaylee - Precise Shot
Gnixgnox – Distracting Charge, Mounted Combat,

Class abilities to learn from Party:

A note about notation - X = Emulated class level. At low levels it is Taskshaper Level/2. At higher levels I can unlock it to be Taskshaper Level - 3...I don't know if we will get that far.

Floor is Excel psuedospeak for round down. So challenge is 1+(1/2Taskshaper level-1)/3 rounded down times per day to deal 1/2 Taskshaper level additional damage on melee attacks against 1 foe.

Gnixgnox – Challenge 1+FLOOR[(X-1)/3] / Day +X damage on melee attacks against 1 foe, -2 AC against all other enemies

Grunval – Air Blast (1d6 + 1 + Con) +FLOOR[(X-1)/2]d6 + FLOOR[(X-1)/2] (EG when X=3: 2d6+2+Con, X=5: 3d6+3+Con]
Remember, X=3 at level 6 and 5 at level 10, so these are pretty well balanced I think.

Enveloping Winds – Physical ranged weapons 20% miss chance + 5%* FLOOR[(X-2)/5] (EG when X=7: 25%, X=12: 30%) - Burn 1 for +5%

Basic Aerokinesis

Extended Range – Burn 1 Range 120 feet

Hanzir – Rage 4+Con+(X-1)*2 rounds /day +4 Str, +4 Con, +2 Will, -2 Penalty to Armor Class

Sorry for the wall of text...just some thoughts I have been playing around with that I wanted to have you see.

Campaign Info Updated.

Will get back to you shortly Anatha.

M Human Braavosi Swashbuckler 6, Duelist 10

-Yes, You can use both abilities.

Looks good Anatha, if its underpowered jus talk to me about it so we can work something out. You need to point out opportunities to learn new class features when the time comes.

Otaku Soccer Player 4; Procrastinator 15

@GnixGnox

Might take a bit more time to post for you, waiting for others to post their actions.

Gnixgnox, the email you gave me appears to not be a gmail account, can you double check that you put the right email because if you didn't, you won't be able to view the battle map.

Shoot, sorry. Typo. It should not be a double m in my last name. Only a single m. I've corrected it on the Google docs page, also.

Because I see it coming up momentarily...what kind of alert system does the night watch have available to them? Is there an alarm bell to sound a general alert to the ship? If so where is it located?

M Human Braavosi Swashbuckler 6, Duelist 10

I think Hanzir did just fine.

Otaku Soccer Player 4; Procrastinator 15

@Anatha

There is a bell aboard the Maribosa, as there is on most ships. It's now noted on the map.

Male Ragebred Barbarian (inactive)

I thought it would be faster to shout out a warning.

With where the bell is located that is certainly true.

I edited this out of my post because I realized after the fact that I already had point blank shot on my known feats list...oops...

GM, even though this didn't happen the ruling that I ask about still needs to be decided on.

Anatha Makkala wrote:

I am going to make a perception check to observe Kaylee using her Point-Blank Shot and put it on my list of known feats. She was 25' away...so I think DC 17? Or 18...I am not clear on how the +1 for 10' of distance works if the distance isn't divisible by 10.

Perception to learn Point-Blank Shot: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

In this case it doesn't matter. GM - I am going to need a ruling on that for the future because it could matter later...Should that DC round up or down? Thanks!

Sorry about the fumble thing. It was supposed to be a more interesting way of saying she missed, and she would have lost the arrow anyway. She still has her bow.

Darn my honesty. Since I had my bow out I would not have the shield. Which means that spear would hit.

M Human Braavosi Swashbuckler 6, Duelist 10

Related to your question Anatha, always count the 25 as 30, or 5 as 10 or 55 as 60.

Male Gnome Taskshaper 1 | HP: 8/8 | AC: 14 [15 w/ shield] (t: 11; ff 13) | F: 2, R: 3, W: 3 | CMB: -1, CMD: 8 | Perc: 13 | Init 1 | MoC 0/4

Probably not the most heroic thing for Anatha to do right now, but I think perhaps the most realistic.
