How many hit points does Silas have? Because my actions and the call out to the Hellknights depend on the response. I also need to know if a good bull rush into the canyon will put an orc out of commission for the duration.

Breaking a grapple isn't an opposed check, it's my check vs the enemy's CMD. I was waiting to see if that broke out-- and if it doesn't, Lay on Hands takes a free hand even on yourself so I'd be out of luck.

Ahh. I was wondering what you meant with Opposed grapple. I took that to mean you were going to try a pin or something super sneaky nagaji-pali something, and you needed me to oppose it.

Silas calls on the valor of the Inheritor's inner strength and successfully unwraps a suckered tentacle's grip.

Well then, Warpac calls out...

"Shield whoever the beast attacks!"

If sending the mystic into over the cliff will take him out of commission:

Let the sacred weapon expire. Then Warpac does a Greater Bull Rush on the Mystic to shove him northeast.

Greater Bull Rush: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

Yea, that should do the trick. I am seeing Golum in my minds eye after he gets the ring.

Then move over by Silas to confront the tentacled thing.

If sending the mystic into over the cliff will NOT take him out of commission:

Use a swift action to change his sacred weapon enchantment to vicious. Then Warpac will engage the beast and take a swipe.

Crunch for my own sanity: +12/1d10+2D6+1D6+12 Power Attack with Dwarven Double Waraxe [1d10; crit x3; dmg: S] (+4[BAB] +2[str] +1[wpn foc] +1[enh]-2[pwa] +1[orc or goblinoid - Hatred] +2[bull strength] +3[divine favor]/+2[str] +1[enh] +4[pwa] +2[bull strength] +3[divine favor] +2d6[vicious] +1d6[holy strike])

To Hit: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage: 1d10 + 26 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 26 + 12 = 39
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3, additional damage from holy strike IF this thing is evil.

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2, damage to self from vicious.

Is this thing evil? The holy strike makes the weapon good and adds 1d6 if the creature is evil. So take that into account for damage.

Note in either case I am moving over the slumbering chieftain. If this would cause any issues place him one east of where I put him. Also, I think it gets an AoO on Warpac when he moves close enough to attack.

Warpac looks for the bottom of the pit, but cannot see it through the mass of writhing worms and other tentacled beasties. It is deep enough for That Which Peels Flesh to hide amongst them. The orc has suffered lots of damage though, more than most orcs could handle based on the number of ribs visible through its flesh. Those orcs though, keep fighting even after they are dead. It's so hard to tell what can make them drop.

Not sure I can answer your question any better Warpac. From your vantage dropping the mystic off the cliff and into the insects will take it out of the melee combat for a round or two. It isn't obvious if the fall or the wormpile will kill it though & it has already shown itself a caster.

That Which Peels Flesh lets out a very moist laugh, evidence of the delight in a second mortal closing. One tentacle lashes out to catch the hairy fleshling. The teeth in the gash of a mouth close around the dwarf and a pincered tentacle grasps at the pathfinders mind. Another tentacle wraps around his leg with the third working against the nagaji, and the last at his sleeping minion.

You call losing 4 wisdom not a hit! Note to GM: that was a touch attack and Warpac ain't so good at dodging. I'd rather the big ones hit than that nasty thing. Well not all 3 of course, but one at least. No third level spells for me now - but hey, Warpac doesn't cast third level spells! :)

Core Helms ! Wizards Wanted Gameday X

Silas & Warpac, I am treating the 'slope' of the island's edge as the last square before the bugs. Otherwise Rowanna would have fallen in days ago! (OK only a couple of rounds, but in PbP that is days :)
Bom there are three such squares, so at the moment yes That Which Peels Flesh can be attacked from the ground. Warpac, if you want to attack TWPF instead of the chieftain go ahead.

The chieftain is still alive at the moment, he was asleep from Rowanna's hex, but was awakened this round. Since he fell he dropped all weapons and is prone.

No more editing an already long post.

The hellknight's battle continues, though their numbers have dropped the orcs are no match for their orderly wall. Hellknight Rutalia is nearly out of magic, so instead reads the runes on one orc approaching her. Calling out its sins not only destroys the orc, but severely wounds two of its compatriots as well.

HK are out of shield others, but they can still use cure moderate wounds, magic missile, or scorching ray. At yoru request of course :)

Over the last 10 days, That Which Peels Flesh ordered the orcs to dig a pit in the center of the canyon where the shoggti’s pet worms could gather. The worm pit is approximately 10 feet deep and it is filled to the brim with mutated worms, centipedes, and other crawling bugs.
These creatures immediately begin to bite at Silas when he drops into them. worm food: 1d6 ⇒ 2 + poison (Fortitude save needed.)

mystic worm food: 1d6 ⇒ 3, mystic worm food: 1d6 ⇒ 3.

I need to amend the above. While the mystic survived the first round (when it cast invisibility) it does not survive the second.

The space where the mystic was does not fill up with worms. Indeed, one anxious slimy creature can be seen crawling along the round shape of an orc skull. Several more can be seen crawling into it, blood oozes into the pile as they eat the invisible orc.

Bom If you would like to take a different action please do so. Silas getting into the pit is a move action. You can take a standard action (against the qlippoth?) if you would like. Warpac, if you similarly would like to change your actions I will apply that Nat 20 against the qlippoth. :)

Silas successfully saves, yes Warpac please make a Fortitude save.

Teh pathfinders stun even the orcs by following that which peels flesh into the portal's pit. The hellknights take advantage of the distraction and slay many of hte Severed Hand. Solangus even goes so far as to cast a magic missile at the creature, and as he does a orc grabs at his waist and cries out his sins, "COWARD!" and both disappear in an arcane blast.

The gamble pays off though as first the paladin and then the warpriest smack the creature with holy fury. Bom stabs from the other side while his faithful companion shreds a tentacle with its teeth. They collectively smash, sizzle, pierce and maul the correscading skin of the fearsome outsider. Its wounds spurt ichor that melts the worms around it and causes them to warp into small spikes. The wounds are too much for the orc's new god and it crushes in on itself.

Simultaneously the pile of writhing worms seems to implode one second only to reverse the second after, sending a shockwave through the region for miles around. Some orcs stop fighting and scream, holding their heads and covering their ears.

Many of the severed hand lose heart, or worse, grow mad, with the destruction of their new god. Joining the Hellknights soon leads to a victory. Some are destroyed by reading the runes carved into the bodies which also damages those around them. Others flee into the mountains, but most are quickly dispatched with matter-of-fact efficiency.

Combat is over, as long as the two in the pit can move & climb out before the 1d6/round kills them. It might be an issue with Silas being so close to death earlier. Warpac is probably fine as he still has shield other active.

The Society is grateful that a great evil was cleansed from the world And you have earned the respect of Signifer Karva, "I promise to write a favorable report to my superiors regarding the Pathfinder Society."

Zarta Dralneen is disappointed about losing the knowledge from the Pillars of the Sky, "I commend you for making a tough choice."

I thought there would be more to the ending than that... so I am giving you a brief glimpse of the destroyed temple.

The temple of Sky about an hour ago:
A temple carved from white stone hangs off the side of this rocky spire. A pillow-like layer of clouds rests just below the temple and stretches outward for miles. Chill winds gust around the temple and, from time to time, they seem to carry airy whispers with them. Twenty engraved pillars are arrayed across the temple and a circular hole opens up in the center of the ruins. Perched atop each pillar is a crude statue of a bearded man wearing flowing robes and brandishing a lightning bolt in his hand. A white marble altar rests on the northern wing of the temple. The temple is shaped like a cross and has no walls or handrails—a fall from the edge leads to a long drop to the ravine below.

However the shaman apprentice (That Which Peels Flesh ate the shaman when it was first summoned) has toppled and crushed all the pillars. There was a struggle. The crushed bodies of many orcs and gortheks (the orc's beasts of burden) litter the area. Many of the bearded statues have also been destroyed. They bear the marks of swords and axe, guardians who died defending the temple.

A clue discovered in checking the alter. It is built from white marble and carved into the shape of clouds. Coded runes are also engraved into this altar, which can be used to activate temple guardians. If the guardians are already active, reading the altar instead deactivates them, which immediately turns the graven guardians back to stone (potentially causing them to fall and shatter if currently in flight).

Winds urge the Pathfinders to leave, and if the you do not withdraw quickly, they aggressively shove you closer and closer to the edge of the tower, potentially knocking the someone off the tower altogether. Once at the edge the winds grow quiet, a warning before kicking up and throwing the intruder off the tower.

Any RP for hellknights on the way back? Anything else to do here? Any questions? I will work on them the chronicles this weekend.
