yes. You have two cannons but need to decide where to put them (so to speak)

I think we should focus on what gives us the upper hand fastest. Let's put the cannons on one side, the ballista in front, and the catapult at a convenient location (in the back?) where it has a lot of freedom to move. Let's focus on getting a few weapons (these four will do) working to 'get us what we want' (subdue the enemy, not damage the ship).
Can we buy stuff like grape shot for the cannon?

By the way, my computer locked up and refused to restart a couple of times today.
So if I go silent, expect the worse for my laptop!

So the mithril shirt is masterwork, I am guessing?

OK. How much plunder did you sell?
Can you update the campaign tab to reflect the current plunder? If so, feel free to do so.

We have 12,350 in unspent cash in the paychest.
Do we need another cannon?
Dewyn hasn't made any purchases? What about an alchemy lab for the ship so you can use that potion making ability of yours?

You can acquire everything you need in this port. Price is standard out of the books.

Sounds like Willy is travelling from 12/18 to 12/27.
How about we take a Christmas holiday and get back going after Willy returns?

Welcome Noonan2! Let me know if you elect to change your name / avatar for any reason, so that I will know its you posting.
Looking forward to gaming with you.

I assumed you guys were just sailors that signed on with the crew in this port.
The party is looking for a hafling alchemist named Left Foot Shenk in order to get a lead on the hidden (and lost) treasure of Captain Mutjoy. The rumor is that Left Foot Shenk had sailed with the fabled Captain Mutjoy and has a map to his treasure.
Hopefully you can see the map link under the gameplay tab. Usually folks post where they want to move in square order, such as move N N N NE N NE E E or some such.
Roll your own attack and damage. I try to post ACs and etc ahead of time but you know how that goes.
Again, welcome aboard and hope you enjoy it.

@ Noonan - we have just been taking average HP for each level (this is in reference to your post for HP die rolls over on the recruitment tab).

I generated two random magic items for the new players, to represent something they have collected from their previous adventures.
Noonan - you have a type 1 bag of holding
Amaru - you have a hat of disguise . Of course, the hat can be configured as a headband, or a brightly colored rag worn on the head or whatever piratey kind of thing you want.

Thank you! This goes perfect with Amaru's 'quirk' to play dress up.
I'm assuming that the 'hat' doesn't have a time limit like the spell. So he could change his appearance until he changes it to something else, right?
Glad to be here!

Have you seen a more pitiful couple rounds of crossbow fire from the gobbos?
This is how I roll at the table too, btw.

I just checked the 'rules' and found out that vermin repellent costs 5gp for a four dose so assuming a 12-hour day that comes out to be 15 gp per PC per day or 75 gp for 5 PCs per day.
That sounds expensive!
Can we get something less expensive?Even if it doesn't provide as much protection? I was thinking more cosmetic and not much more.

Fair warning - my posting frequency has been higher than normal due to being on vacation (at home) the last two weeks.
I can't post from work, so expect a downturn beginning Monday. But I think we can live with it. I hope!

Do what you can. One post per day that moves the game along is fine.

I missed something. Who's Vorka?
When I read the description that Keith gave of the encounter, it immediately reminded me of an encounter in the "We Be Goblins" module.

I should probably mention that I do combat order different than some folks, mainly because this is a play by post game.
Basically, the players get to go in any order, and (when all orders are in) I figure out what happened. Most of the events can be assumed to be happening simultaneously or at least close to it.
If we ever (or, perhaps, when) it becomes critical to have things happen in a specific sequence, we will do so. But I find that using a specific initiative order generally slows up a play by post game.
As a note, we are doing our face to face games that way too, and it doesn't cause any issues.

I do the same in my games (PBP and PBEM) and even ask the players to give me two rounds worth of actions. I'll then sort out what happened by RAW but then will alter the turn recap (narration) to make it read more like a story. It works great so you have my vote.
I'll 'slow down' and go one round at a time when something critical has happened or could happen. I figure that combat is hectic enough that people can't really wait to see what someone has done to adjust their actions; one round is only 6 seconds long and it's not like they have time to just sit and watch. :)

So with 7 cannon per side, a broadside that hits will do 42d6 damage.
Lesson here: Don't get shot by a broadside!

My laptop has died. So I am buying a new one today and hope to be posting again by this afternoon. I did lose your current map but we can work around that I think.

Changing computers always suck; good luck to you. :)

Have a new one in hand. Struggling as you might expect. But going better than I feared. We are mostly back in action!
Minus a map or two
