My / Kael's reasoning: When you're dealing with a complicated system, taking things apart is best left for when you're done using it ;)

Human Bloodrager (Metamagic Rager Primalist) 1; Initiative +1; Perception +5, Low-Light Vision, HP 15+1/21; 19+1/25; AC 16/14 T 11/9, FF {Uncanny Dodge} 15/13; Fort +5/+7, Ref +1, Will +0/+2 (+1 vs mind affecting); Rage rounds 9/9

I don't think they're attached to anything. That might be a good idea, though.

Mostly, I just want to sell things.

I tried to set up the map on roll20 how you guys described you were positioned. Right now Cerise and Percival are adjacent to the thing, making it hard for Kael to get in.

I think my ooc note was confusing. We're still in initiative, I'm just not using the tracker thing I've been doing for now.

HP 13/13, AC 15, Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +4, Perc +5, Init +1 Channel 7/7, Arcane Reservoir 5/5, Pearl 1/1

I thought we were above it?

I guess I know what I'm doing with my action this round.

It climbed up the wall. It's still below you, but adjacent.

Human Bloodrager (Metamagic Rager Primalist) 1; Initiative +1; Perception +5, Low-Light Vision, HP 15+1/21; 19+1/25; AC 16/14 T 11/9, FF {Uncanny Dodge} 15/13; Fort +5/+7, Ref +1, Will +0/+2 (+1 vs mind affecting); Rage rounds 9/9

Unless Cerise can use flaming hands a few more times, I think we're going to have to beat a hasty retreat. I doubt it can follow us down the chain.

Maybe if we get lucky we can maneuver it into a position where we can drop it 50'? I don't know if it would even care.

HP 13/13, AC 15, Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +4, Perc +5, Init +1 Channel 7/7, Arcane Reservoir 5/5, Pearl 1/1

One more, and then two rounds of produce flame. Then I'm down to Ray of Frost

Since the Grick is below the lip of the doorway, it gets pretty significant cover if you're using reach to bull rush it. You'd have to be adjacent to get a good angle on it.

Human Bloodrager (Metamagic Rager Primalist) 1; Initiative +1; Perception +5, Low-Light Vision, HP 15+1/21; 19+1/25; AC 16/14 T 11/9, FF {Uncanny Dodge} 15/13; Fort +5/+7, Ref +1, Will +0/+2 (+1 vs mind affecting); Rage rounds 9/9

I'll just delay until it tries to come up, then.

Kael happens to have a magic swork, conveniently ;)

"Swings"?

To be fair, I was running on less than four hours sleep at the point after a 12 hour day, so I'm going with the fact that I swung a shortsword, botched the damage dice, and called a sword a swork was relatively decent for that point ;)

Human Bloodrager (Metamagic Rager Primalist) 1; Initiative +1; Perception +5, Low-Light Vision, HP 15+1/21; 19+1/25; AC 16/14 T 11/9, FF {Uncanny Dodge} 15/13; Fort +5/+7, Ref +1, Will +0/+2 (+1 vs mind affecting); Rage rounds 9/9

Hehe, not sleeping is hard and also generally not very worthwhile. Also, the realism police means you no harm.

Female Human Oracle 2 | HP: 15/18 | AC 12* (T12, FF 14) | CMB: +3 CMD: 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+3 (+2 vs. mind FX), | Init +2 | Perc +5, SM +4, Diplo/Intim +4 | Speed 30 ft. | Spells: 1st: 0/5 | Knowledge of the Ages: 4/4 | Active Conditions: Light (recast as needed)

I'll wait to see how this round goes before posting Pythia's action, FYI.

Male CG Half-orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/20 | AC: 19 (12 Tch, 17 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F: +7, R: +7, W: +3 | Init: +2 | Perc: +6, SM: +2 | Speed 20ft | Active conditions: None.

Death Marching is hard and generally not very worth while, but it becomes a necessity sometimes. *chuckles*

Also, I know tone doesn't convey well online, but I thoroughly enjoy the Realism Police

The Land Farmstead is not too far out of the way when going back to town. Get me a rule of two for either the Farmstead or town first.

Farmstead first. Maybe they have oil?

Yeah, Farmstead.

I'm off early so I'll get an update when I get home.

Definitely the farmstead first. I have no desire to walk into town carrying a corpse.

Come on. Where's your sense of adventure?

Dun dun dun!!!!!

The plot thickens!

In some ways, this is the start of the story.

It's a good time for it too. The heroes are established and the tone is set. It's time to break from the fantasy of the ancient past and enter the reality of right now.

:)

That was a good song, very cold and still and empty.

I suppose nineteen years in the past is much more recent than whatever is inside the dungeon, but I'm sure the farmhouse will show it's age. Old and overgrown, not even dusty any more, just...abandoned.

I spend way too much time digging for music for my various characters and for this game. I don't mind. The benefits are more than worthwhile.

Yeah, it very likely has been abandoned since the family died.

I may be amassing a collection of dance / techno for a Starfinder character I'm making...

But I also have another character that I've had a song parody in every combat he's been in :)

No time to post until later probably, but I assume you're going up to the Farmstead proper once the boy is buried.

If I had to chose a theme song for Percival, it would probably be the song we got in the initial recruitment thread. I'm not too well versed in music, but it sounds about right.

It seems like we've got a few votes to check out the house next. I like that as well, since it's more likely that anyone still here is in the house, and we wouldn't want to follow the track and get hit from behind.

Sorry about the delay, guys. Work decided to throw some unique challenges at me this week that aren't all the way resolved yet. I couldn't find time to build a combat post until now. I should be able to follow up more easily.

Male CG Half-orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/20 | AC: 19 (12 Tch, 17 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F: +7, R: +7, W: +3 | Init: +2 | Perc: +6, SM: +2 | Speed 20ft | Active conditions: None.

I think we could compare notes on unique work challenges. I, for one, completely understand.

It looks to me like Cerise is going to have a hard time getting off a clean flaming hands. We could get there next turn, but then she'd be out in the open. We're probably mostly okay, as long as Kael can take a bit of a beating.

And if I can get a hit off, I guess. It'll happen eventually, I've got a great attack bonus.

I made my return to college today. I've also left my only computer charger on the bus, and thus will be unable to post until Tuesday.

Thanks for the heads up. Cerise has a limited posting ability for awhile as well, so we might slow down a little anyway.

For the record, I don't actually expect you guys to let Pythia keep a horribly violent baby owlbear. I fully expect someone to kill it.

If you guys keep him, you should name him Albert, but use a french pronunciation with the silent 't'. (say it out loud)

Though, it's probably a really bad idea to keep him. lol

Female Human Oracle 2 | HP: 15/18 | AC 12* (T12, FF 14) | CMB: +3 CMD: 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+3 (+2 vs. mind FX), | Init +2 | Perc +5, SM +4, Diplo/Intim +4 | Speed 30 ft. | Spells: 1st: 0/5 | Knowledge of the Ages: 4/4 | Active Conditions: Light (recast as needed)

Nonsense! I excel at bad ideas.

It's destiny!

I meant to mention. For Pythia, I'm going to leave it up to you if you find pictures of most things you look for. There are a few things I will add specifically, but they might be rare. I don't mind if Pythia is surprisingly prophetic, in general.

Male CG Half-orc Ranger 1 | HP: 13/20 | AC: 19 (12 Tch, 17 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F: +7, R: +7, W: +3 | Init: +2 | Perc: +6, SM: +2 | Speed 20ft | Active conditions: None.

... In my Kingmaker home game, one of the players put a lot of effort into trying to tame the owlbear, which he named Albert ;)

Luckily he got a Ring of Dominate Animal.

I always thought Percival would be the bad decision maker of the group. Maybe he is, though, and Pythia just doesn't understand why it would be a bad idea. So Percival might, say, bash himself in the face with a wooden board if someone pressured him too, while Pythia would thing that's obviously stupid. Percival can know it's a terrible idea and still do it (so long as it only hurts himself), while I'm not sure Pythia would do dumb stuff that she knew was dumb.

Who knows, we'll see.

Bad idea or good idea, if Pythia dreamed of bashing herself in the face with a board, and later saw a board that looked the same, she would bash herself in the face with that board. Sometimes, bad ideas just feel right.
