Hi folks! Nice ta meet you all. I haven't updated my background/crunch yet but that doesn't mean I can roleplay!
Nice to see you again, RIZZENMAGNUS.
To clarify, it's alright if I use the Battle Sorcerer variant for my character, yes? And for starting funds, average GP for our class?

'Within reason' is such a dangerous term... especially seeing some of the discussions that come up in some of these forums.
That being said, I'm going to ask if the one thing I want may be a step outside reason, strictly due to it's cost. Is a hand crossbow within reason? It's under max, but not affordable by average (and still by other gear that is).

Okay, was doing a little profile stalking (looking at Aliases), and I'm somewhat surprised I haven't run across Rashly in any other PbP's with as many aliases as he has.
I know I'm in a CotCT with Trapdodger (I'm Gregor the uptight guardsman)
For Shalafi, if this is your first PbP, one key thing to remember is that even the fast ones can sometimes get REAL slow. Sometimes the text takes off, sometimes it hits a brick wall. A lot of the time patience will win out. Or in my, and possibly many other's case, when I need my PbP fix I join/run another.
I've had many players I play tabletop with join PbP games I was in or ran and drop out because they went too slow for them.
Usually my biggest concern is GM burnout. Some of them start all eager, bite off more than they can chew, and then drop them or lose motivation. That is the saddest part, after making a PC you really enjoy and only getting maybe 20 something posts in before the GM quits. Even worse if the GM just vanishes, and not for personal reasons, because you see them post just as frequent elsewhere. When I first started, I jumped right in trying to run 4 games, and play in a bunch of others. Sadly, I had to drop two of the games I ran (college, family, and work).

Thanks for the advice my gnomish friend.

Shalafi careful you are posting in the game "room" with the wrong alias

Oops, I just made him my default so that should take care of it.

you type [dice]1d20+4[/dice
but you put a close bracket ] at the end
Edit: and of course your own modifiers. With the online tool you can roll any number

I found an online dice roller from WOTC. Is that okay?
Hp 16/16 AC 19 (+2 Perc, +4 Init, Fort +3 Ref +4, Will +2) Elven Vision
talintah there we use a on board dice roller
click just under the message box, click on the Show How to format your text, and you will find the BBcode formula for the on site dice roller:
[dice]1d20 + 3; 1d6 + 2[dice] This is a dice expression.
just replace the inside braquets value with what ever dice you need to roll and dont forget to put the / inside the [dice] at the end of the formula code in order to close it
just like you do for the [b] and [b]
Male Human Cleric 1
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 1915 + 419 = 434
Male Human Cleric 1
Hooray, I think I am getting the hang of this. I feel like a computer programmer, lol.

LOL, this is very new to me. Thanks for your patience.
Human Paladin (Hospitaler) 2 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +4 W +6 | Init +1 | Perc +0
And if you write it like that:
[dice=Attack]1d20+5[/dice ] (without the blank)
Both, the dice and the explaining text will get the same formatting
Human Paladin (Hospitaler) 2 | AC 19 T 11 FF 18 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +4 W +6 | Init +1 | Perc +0
Example:
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Hp 16/16 AC 19 (+2 Perc, +4 Init, Fort +3 Ref +4, Will +2) Elven Vision
Indeed they do, sickles have the trip feature. So you will probably take the improved trip feat to go along with it. (cause if you don't. be careful with AOO's)

The Inn of the Last Home is currently run by Laura Majere, the daughter of Caramon and Tika, sister of Palin. ;)

Well she sure has inherited her mother's hair and signature weapon...
Dang...didn't see that coming. Although I almost feel sorry for that cleric....he just pissed off the wrong family. :P

well if he keeps channeling negative energy he might just end up with a No witness crime scene :)

Catch the runaways? hard to "catch" when they come to you. Lol
Hp 16/16 AC 19 (+2 Perc, +4 Init, Fort +3 Ref +4, Will +2) Elven Vision
indeed they are now. But the fight should be a lot easier now since only the bad guys and the party are left standing. all of the inn's patron are on the floor in a coma. they shouldn't have any problem in maneuver amongst the bodies...
"I will always strive to write better" , 25 years gaming, 20 yrs DM
*smile* Easier? now, where is the fun in that? No, the patrons are still relevant. They are not in a coma. they, like you, are dying. And gods forbid that they die due to the efforts of a cleric of the lord of the dead. Will they move on beyond the souls gate, or become enslaved to chemosh?
And yet, the guy who needs your assistance is telling you to run away. A psychological twist to this complicated scenario. Especialy for those who take oaths seriously, and know that consequences await if they break it.
Hp 16/16 AC 19 (+2 Perc, +4 Init, Fort +3 Ref +4, Will +2) Elven Vision
Well if they are like me then they all fell on the ground... so not many left standing. and 'id like to point out that since i am currently a zero hp (thanks to the positive energy surge) i can function don't know about the kender who was also in a coma although is is now stable..)

This is my first PBP. Is the rp and combat usually this tedious in terms of people replying or not?
Hp 16/16 AC 19 (+2 Perc, +4 Init, Fort +3 Ref +4, Will +2) Elven Vision
it can be as people are not always behind the computer.
but usually people try to post at least 1-3 times a day
Male Human Cleric 1
So far I see only about 3 of us being somewhat active on the board. I am beginning to see why these things fall apart.
Hp 16/16 AC 19 (+2 Perc, +4 Init, Fort +3 Ref +4, Will +2) Elven Vision
during weekend people post less as this time is usually left for family
Male Gnome Alchemist 2 (AC: 16 [T: 13 FF: 14 ] | HP: 15/15 | F+4, R+5, W+0 | Init: +2 | Perc: +6 [Low-light])
Also, in this particular instance, I believe the GM is waiting for everyone to post for this combat. Sometimes, one person not posting for a day or two stops everyone, especially in combat.
With conversation, the others can go back and forth while they wait, but in a fight there is only so much conversation you can have. So even that becomes less of a posting option as one person's turn can bring everything to a halt.
Speaking of, do we know which person/people haven't posted yet? Sometimes they aren't even aware that they are the ones that haven't gone, thinking they had already.
