Given that the statue is a major artifact, there is a chance it would work. It would be a very small chance that would risk Lefty losing his spellcasting forever, but there is a chance.

Male Dwarf Ranger 17/ Dual-Path Champion/Guardian 10

chance something. We're all out of ideas. We do whichever one is least likely to kill us all. If it fails, we hope the meatshields can hold her off while magic makes her dead :)

Female Human Deaf Dark Tapestry Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 17/Hierophant-Trickster 10

Maybe hitting Azarni with Mage's Disjunction would break the bond...

M Elf Rog 1/Wiz 7/Trickster 10: Init +13; Perception +24; AC 33 (), 22 () T, 26 () FF /hp 185/185, Saves F +16, R +21, W +8; +2 vs. enchantment

The spell, for easy reference.

Through Manisha's spell: I could try to dispel the artifact, but it's only a 20% chance. An area effect should stifle any compulsions on her, and would let us access our bags, if we want, though some of our items might not work for 20 minutes.

My guess is that without TB's magic affecting her, she might decide she's not so keen to cooperate with him. She might leave, or, she might decide to destroy us, then leave. Either way, he won't have her help, and he goes back to just being a horrific uber-lich rather than a potential god. For a while, anyway. Or, maybe she likes the idea, and will destroy us anyway.

If we suppress the effects around the statue, maybe we can walk up to it and break it the old-fashioned way. What say ye?

Lefty casually starts to remove his haversack.

Male Dwarf Ranger 17/ Dual-Path Champion/Guardian 10

Baergar nods.

Female Human Deaf Dark Tapestry Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 17/Hierophant-Trickster 10

Through the Telepathy: "That sounds like our best shot. I couldn't help you directly, but maybe a Miracle can make things more favorable for you."

3rd Unlimited Miracle: Boosting Lefty's chances of destroying the Statue as much as possible? That too crazy?

Male Human Fighter (Tactician 17/Champion 10) [ HP 340/340 | AC 38 Tch 26 FF 33 | Fort +25 Ref +19 Will +21 | CMD 47 | Init +22 Perc +31 | Effects: ]

"Solid enough plan," Hiram adds, drawing the Song. It's magic might end up suppressed but whatever metal the artifact was forged from seemed to have no trouble damaging mundane materials.

M Elf Rog 1/Wiz 7/Trickster 10: Init +13; Perception +24; AC 33 (), 22 () T, 26 () FF /hp 185/185, Saves F +16, R +21, W +8; +2 vs. enchantment

Through telepathy: Baergar and Hiram, if you hand me your weapons, they won't be affected at all. I can cast the spell without using my hands.

He drops his pack, and waits for the warriors' response.

Male Dwarf Ranger 17/ Dual-Path Champion/Guardian 10

Baergar moves to stand next to Lefty and hand over his falchion.

M Elf Rog 1/Wiz 7/Trickster 10: Init +13; Perception +24; AC 33 (), 22 () T, 26 () FF /hp 185/185, Saves F +16, R +21, W +8; +2 vs. enchantment

Out loud to Baergar: That's an impressive blade, sir. I'm curious about its manufacture. Is it as heavy as it looks? Do you mind if I examine it?

Bluff to look like nothing more than a casual chat: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (8) + 25 = 33

Male Dwarf Ranger 17/ Dual-Path Champion/Guardian 10

"Please." Baergar smiles awkwardly. It is a nice sword, but this is a odd time to bring it up...

Baergar doesn't have Sense Motive. He could probably figure out what's going on, but this way is funnier.

Female Human Deaf Dark Tapestry Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 17/Hierophant-Trickster 10

Lorelei will be fairly shielded from the Disjunction. Her Source Severance spell acts like an anti-magic field toward arcane spells. If Vrog gives the okay, Star will have Rose use her final Miracle for the day to help Lefty. Limited Wish can make an attack always hit, so I do not think an unbound Miracle giving someone more favorable odds to accomplish something is out of the question.

M Elf Rog 1/Wiz 7/Trickster 10: Init +13; Perception +24; AC 33 (), 22 () T, 26 () FF /hp 185/185, Saves F +16, R +21, W +8; +2 vs. enchantment

The magic keeping her there will be disjoined. I'm going for an area effect. It will affect you, depending on your items' will saves, or your own. I'm thinking we want to dig out our magic stuff from our extradimensionals while we can, and risk a few of them not working. You can elect to fail the save on your bag, and roll for everything else. Stuff you know you won't use in the next 20 minutes won't need a roll.

DC 34

I'm not targeting the artifact, specifically, so it won't be affected. Hopefully, it'll shut down some effects that will let our fighters run up and try to destroy it. Maybe. :0

If we had a map, I'd place it to hit her and the phylactery, and maybe miss some of us.

you probably want to make the saves on your stuff instead of choosing to fail, because the way I see it, you're choosing a natural 1 over a die roll, which normally doesn't matter, except in this case. the other option is to have everyone except the spellcasters move out of range of the spell, so as to not have to make rolls.

I would say that miracle could be used here, but the results might be....wacky. Your call though. I'm gonna want you to state exactly what effect you're requesting IC.

Male Human Fighter (Tactician 17/Champion 10) [ HP 340/340 | AC 38 Tch 26 FF 33 | Fort +25 Ref +19 Will +21 | CMD 47 | Init +22 Perc +31 | Effects: ]

I'd prefer to move out of range if I could rather than roll for all of my gear.

Female Human Deaf Dark Tapestry Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 17/Hierophant-Trickster 10

Even if she has some protection, Star would probably move as well. Maybe she and the others can go "check out the missing door" or something.

On second thought, I am going to save the last Miracle.

Male Dwarf Ranger 17/ Dual-Path Champion/Guardian 10

I'd move too. I don't have anything I need in my bags.

Okay, looks like everyone besides lefty is going downstairs to the foyer, if you will. Lefty, are you going to cast the disjunction so that the ward and the statue are in it as well, or are you just going to center it on her?

M Elf Rog 1/Wiz 7/Trickster 10: Init +13; Perception +24; AC 33 (), 22 () T, 26 () FF /hp 185/185, Saves F +16, R +21, W +8; +2 vs. enchantment

I'll go for her and the ward and statue, if it's possible.

Using his Tricky Spells ability, Lefty casts the spell without a word.

He then retrieves his haversack.

Saves:
haversack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
rod: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
rod: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22
rod: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
book: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

His other stuff is worn or carried. He then looks at her like this.

???: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 24
????: 1d100 ⇒ 9
?????: 1d100 ⇒ 61

As Lefty draws on his arcane power and the pushes it outwards in a wave that touches Arazni, the ward, and the statue behind it. As washes over Arazni, she screams and then disappears in a burst of divine light.

When it reaches the ward, there is no resistance whatsoever, and the ward is obliterated by the power of his magical unmaking. The statue, however, appears to be unaffected.

I need to you make a DC 25 will save lefty.

M Elf Rog 1/Wiz 7/Trickster 10: Init +13; Perception +24; AC 33 (), 22 () T, 26 () FF /hp 185/185, Saves F +16, R +21, W +8; +2 vs. enchantment

Lefty calls to the others. She's gone and the ward is down! Come on in!

Male Dwarf Ranger 17/ Dual-Path Champion/Guardian 10

Baergar charges back up the stairs, sword drawn. "What happened?"

Hiram wastes no time and rushes back up the stairs with the Song in hand. Swinging hard, he attempts to damage the statue with the shining blade and hopes the power of the previous owner might stand true against whatever evil lurked within.

Vital Strike: 8d6 + 122 + 60 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 1, 1, 1, 4, 2) + 122 + 60 = 204

We have a short window. Attack, and make it count.

Lefty will go invisible (free action), move closer to the statue while drawing his weapon, and cast Magic Missile in the surprise round.

MM: 5d4 + 7 + 7d6 + 14 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 1, 4) + 7 + (1, 3, 4, 4, 2, 4, 2) + 14 = 52
CL check: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (17) + 26 = 43

If the spell does nothing, he still learns something.

Female Human Deaf Dark Tapestry Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 17/Hierophant-Trickster 10

Since she lacks anything with a lot of sheer destructive power in her spell arsenal, Lorelei instead throws a quick Blessing of Fervor on the group.

Could she use Stone Shape or PAO to deform the statue? Rip off chunks?

Knowledge (Arcane): 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (5) + 29 = 34
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (17) + 29 = 46

Love that spell! Choices!

Interestingly enough, you guys discover that the statue is significantly less effected by things from mythic sources. OTOH, Lefty's magic missiles rip right into the statue. Let's go ahead and roll initiative. Lefty, you know you can't sneak attack with magic missile, right? additionally, the statue is immune to critical hits.

Manisha to the white courtesy phone...

F Peri-blooded Half-Celestial Aasimar Wizard 8 / Arcane Savant 7

Been wanting to try this beat stick out.

That said, Manisha slides a staff out from under her haversack, it had looked almost like a shadow.

Spreading her legs and taking up a stance she grabs the shadowstaff in both hands and whips it back and forth a couple of times.

Turning her head to the left she raises the staff over her right shoulder and scans the structure.

Lifting her left foot just slightly from the ground she drops down onto her foot as her body twists, bringing the shadowstaff around in a wide swing as she drops onto her foot.

Not knowing how much time the group has left, Lorelei opts to simply nuke the statue. After making herself a Nobody once more, the Dark Tapestry Oracle quickly moves closer to the battle. Mythic power surges through her tiny frame once more, and she promptly hurls the same attack that destroyed the dracolich at the statue.

Lorelei renews her No One of Consequence power as a swift action. Using the extra speed granted by Blessing of Fervor, she then moves closer to the statue with a move action. As her standard, she then expends five points of mythic power and casts Mythic Augmented Sands of Time via Inspired Spell on the Statue. It must make a DC 33 save or take 600 points of damage. Even if it saves, it takes 300.

I don't actually think objects get saves from that spell. I'll look at the book when I get home, but from what I'm reading, it looks like they just take damage. That being said.

I'll wait until we know how much damage the statue took. I'm thinking Star did 600, not 300.

With Hiram's attack, the Statue shatters. In addition to the descriptive text below, I'll be rolling will saves for everyone who has mythic power, as the destruction of Tar Baphon's phylactery resulted in the release of a massive amount of mythic power.

As Hiram strikes the final blow, cracks begin to radiate out from the point of impact. The shapes in the statue, which are humanoid upon close inspection, begin pouring out of the hole in the statue. As they do, you see that they are actually spirits, many of whom appear to be adventurers of some type or another. Through some method that is not quite obvious, the souls that are fleeing the statue are widening the hole.

As more and more spirits pour out of the statue, even those of you who have no talent for magic can see that some sort of force is building within the statue, as light begins to radiate from within it, a little at first, but growing exponentially until is hurts to look at. Just when the room is as bright as the sun, the light is sucked back in and then, with a deafening roar, the statue explodes.

Statue's explosion: DC40 Reflex save for half: 26d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 4, 6, 5, 3, 6, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4, 2, 1, 3, 3, 6, 4, 4, 3, 6, 6, 4, 5, 1) = 98

Baergar's Ref Save: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (17) + 25 = 42
Manisha's Ref Save: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (7) + 29 = 36
Hiram's Ref Save: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
Star's Ref Save: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (16) + 32 = 48
Lefty's Ref Save: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (3) + 27 = 30

Baergar's Will Save: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (4) + 24 = 28
Manisha's Will Save: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (14) + 27 = 41
Hiram's Will Save: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24
Star's Will Save: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (13) + 24 = 37

Stadowstaff: 1d100 ⇒ 18
Nexus Crystal: 1d100 ⇒ 30
Hunrik's Tusk: 1d100 ⇒ 88
Rose: 1d100 ⇒ 27
Heroe's Song: 1d100 ⇒ 13

Will Save: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (11) + 28 = 39
Will Save: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (17) + 28 = 45

so, the results of all these dice I just rolled: With the exception of Manisha, all mythic characters have their mythic power set to 0 (basically, you have no points in your mythic power pool, and they will not return til you rest). Manisha appears to be unaffected by the wave of mythic power. As far as the explosion goes, looks like Baergar and Star will take 49 damage (which DR will apply to) and everyone else will take 98 damage (again, which DR applies to).

Now for the true downside to all of this: As you may have guessed, the other effect of the release of energy was a mage's disjunction. The only artifacts that were effected were the shadowstaff and Heroe's song. As you can see, Tar Baphon made both his will saves (might have lead to a much shorter campaign had he not!). Unfortunately, this means that Hiram's sword is now just a masterwork sword, and the Shadowstaff ceases to exist (as it is not an actual staff, but an object made of pure shadow). I know that this is a serious blow for Hiram (as his primary weapon just more or less went kablooey) but I I'll ask you guys to trust me in this regards (I mean, all of those adventurers that were killed had gear that went....somewhere, right?) Feel free to respond now.

You guys should thank Lefty btw. the circle that he eradicated with his disjunction prevented anything related to mythic power from crossing it, but the statue required mythic power to destroy it. Had you all been mythic, none of this would have been possible.
