Once again, the idea is high school kids with rough backgrounds corresponding the character. High school jock=fighters, nerd=wizards or the opposite can be tried for karmic reasons or the effect of making a conscious effort to break a pattern -- abused child has a desire to be powerful, loner has desire to be charismatic leader. The idea is you can roleplay the high schooler in italics with thoughts.
Given that we already have a drop in the first two days and the rogue in group 1 hasn't reported in yet, I am combining groups. I will bet this attrition won't be our last. The percentage of PbPs that languish is pretty high, and rather have two games hanging by a thread, I'd rather have one strong one.
The encounters will be challenging, that I assure you, unless you really are that good.
Ama's player is Xavier Alexander, a fairly average guy, save that he is one of those that knows almost everyone, or they know him. He's realized that talking to people is just talking, and he is not afraid to be a goof when it suits him. Currently coasting through school, he's one of those happy-go-lucky, go-with-the-flow types.
right-o, looks like the band just grew a bit. means we're gonna see some bigger action, most likely, but it also means more party members to fund the crafting! rings for everyone!
It occurs to me that depending on how we perceive the "blending" of the characters with their players, intents may change.. For instance, if the party is good on Divine magic, Ama will be classing into monk. While XR was playing her on the page, scale mail was fine. Now that he has to actually wear it, however.. It's got to come off.
In regards to the character he now is.. I'm going with Ama having been a facet of his personality, perhaps. Not that she isn't him, but now they're 60/40... and that raises some interesting philosophical arguments.. Shame she wasn't a summoner... It would be a question to see whether or not the Eidolon that got summoned was him or her. ;)
Thanks for the summary Flaeg -- I'll paste it into campaign tab. Let me know what you think so far--like Columbus we are pioneers breaking new ground here.
The module is for 4-7 -- it will easily be challenging for 8 with a little extra sauce.
Since I don't want to Flaeg to have to update the roster, we are calling the party complete at 8.
Male Human Cleric 2 (AC 20, T 11, FF 20 / HP 20/20 / F +5, R +0, W +6 / Per +4)
Belrain naturally gravitates to the front of the marching order. Feel free to push him back if you think your character is better suited to it, but don't expect him to like it. ;)
Here's a question: Assuming that Ama makes level 2 (and goes monk) She already has Improved Unarmed Strike. Would it be alright to graduate it into Weapon Focus/Finesse: Unarmed Strike?
That's fine with me. You guys will probably have to carry Flaeg in. Jeff's way to excited with his first unrestricted access to alcohol to do anything but drink, drink, drink.
As one of the merchant rooms has an extra bed, you could go 2-3-3 instead of 2-2-4. I assume the ladies take the first room. Anyone else staying up but Ama.
"In the event that a DM action requires a reflexive check/saves/etc for my character, I have no qualms whatsoever about the DM rolling for the check, especially when waiting for me to roll it would hold up the game."
Rather than have an extracted combat that may lead to a split party, I am going with the entire party is captured option. Just think it is best for all. Do not want half the party having to rescue the inactive other half.
