End of Round 1: Maria waves her hand at Colangelo and says, "Dormir!"
Slumber Hex, DC 17.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
aaaaaand Maria one-shots the evil mastermind. for now.
Valda misses, unfortunately.
Dave takes out one of Colangelo's students.
The second student fires another magic missile at Dave.

The Huge elemental turns, and attacks one wolverine while moving up the beach toward Valda and Isagoras.

The Wolverine is none too happy, but still up.
One medium elemental steps up 5' and attacks Maria...
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6+DC 14 Fort or burn.
The remaining two move up toward the party.
You've got their attention.
Pavel, Isagoras and Maria's actions.

BTW, 2 of Isagoras' wolverines get AOO for the Huge one passing them.
Pavel Dmitrovic |
Pavel, feeling heroically out of character, charges down the beach toward the Huge elemental whom he hopes is still blind and takes a mighty swing with his ancient sword, the runes brightening as it cuts through the air towards the animate fire.

Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |
Okay, didn't think so just making sure.
Maria cackles (to extend the sleep another round) and looks around for some rope or something to tie him up. (Since the cackle is a move action, she's just looking this round for her second half.)
rando1000 |
For the cost of an Action Point, I'll allow Maria to find a buoy with some rope attached on the beach. I'll allow her to retrieve it this round as well.
Despite the valiance of Pavel's charge, his weapon swipes through flames but misses the solid parts of the elemental (too bad, too; that damage woulda been good).
Isagoras the Light |
In an eerily uniform movement, the four animals all shift five feet to the West. Then they unleash an unearthly torrent of teeth and claws and tentacles.

Dave S. Wavaski |
Dave dosn't even seem to notice the light cut the last student had given him, as he suddenly vanishes from sight...
Vanish, obviously, and he's moving over towards the unconscious form of the Colangelo. Hmm... How many puts would I have to spend in order to perform a Coup de Grace on this very turn? I hate raining on Maria's clever plan of tying up the a+*!%@!, but Dave is very pissed off.

In an eerily uniform movement, the four animals all shift five feet to the West. Then they unleash an unearthly torrent of teeth and claws and tentacles.
Both of the medium elementals fall to the summoned creature's attacks.
Isagoras' ranged touch spell is less useful, failing to overcome the huge elemental's touch AC.Having trouble hitting google drive atm, I'll post an updated map this evening.
Order: Valda, Dave, Badguys, Pavel, Isagoras, Maria.
Round 4. Valda and Dave may act.
Vanish, obviously, and he's moving over towards the unconscious form of the Colangelo. Hmm... How many puts would I have to spend in order to perform a Coup de Grace on this very turn? I hate raining on Maria's clever plan of tying up the a+~!$%$, but Dave is very pissed off.
Sorry, I don't think I'll allow violating action economy via Action Points. I allow Maria's move because looking around isn't really an action, so she'd only used a single Move.
Since Vanish is a swift action, you CAN move to Colangelo and retrieve the knife this round, if you wish. It's very obviously just tucked in his belt.
Valda Simmons |
Glaring at the gun, Valda's hands blurred across the breach, unloading the damaged shell and reloading the heavy gun in a shockingly fast set of movement. "Oh, think jamming is clever huh? How'd you like that?" Raising the gun to her shoulder again, Valda squeezed off another shot against the large Elemental.

Pavel, Isagoras, and Maria's actions (after burn saves).
Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |
Maria is tying him up this round, and double checking the knots to make sure he can't easily escape. (Not a "Use Rope" anymore, so not sure what to roll... let me know if I need to roll something.)
rando1000 |
Magic missile requires a target you can accurately see, the spell wouldn't work- Actual casting magic missile at the darkness here, mate.
Ah, duh. Didn't put two and two together on that one. Retroactively, the student moves up to try and stop Maria from tying up his master. Takes him the round to get there, so that's his only action.
Pavel and Isagoras' actions.

Yeah, sry, Halloween had a strong gravitational effect this year. =p

Colangelo's second student drops to Dave's sword. Colangelo has been captured and is unconscious, and both his students are dead. Yet the summons wander on. It's obvious something unusual is going on.
Come to think of it, the whole world doesn't look right. The sky is a dull read, and flames seem to be sprouting randomly everywhere, even on the water...
Valda Simmons |

Isagoras' creatures harass the wandering elementals either it, or they, are dead.

No, actually. The big elemental still has quite a few HP and is intent on finishing off the insolent creatures who are attacking it, I just haven't had a chance to post their actions yet. Will do this afternoon/evening.

Okay, caught up to Pavel failing his save at 9:39 PM.
Middle Round 5.
Valda and Dave are the only PCs who've acted this round at this point. If anyone is improperly placed, let me know.
Maria has voiced desire to help Pavel, but she has not yet had a chance to do so. Similarly, Isagoras will be directing his monsters, but not until after the two remaining elementals have a chance to act..
The huge elemental, seeing he's caught Pavel ablaze, decides to push the attack.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13
Pavel can't catch MORE on fire, so no burn saves.
Meanwhile, the medium elemental charges Isagoras on the shore.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
DC 14 Reflex vs. burn from Isagoras.
Keep in mind you can spend multiple Action Points in a round to soak damage; each one avoids 5 HP damage.
After this, Pavel, Maria and Isagoras may act.
Pavel Dmitrovic |
Sorry, been having issues with my laptop and internet connection.

Maria rushes over to help put Pavel out as he retreats from the giant elemental. Just as that fire gets out of control, Isagoras bursts into flames.
Isagoras' creatures attack the huge elemental, and it finally succumbs to the damage. That leaves only the medium sized elemental, which is quickly dispatched by Valda.
Once everyone gets put out, you're left to examine the situation. You managed to keep the huge elemental from reaching the hotels, along Hopi Beach, giving those staying there a temporary reprieve. However, the world does not look...right.
The sky is a combination of brick red and black, but still generating a hot red-yellow light. Smoke fills the city behind you as you hear dozens of fire trucks. Something tells you you're not in Kansas...er, New Mexico, any more.

Removing his shades, he places them in his pocket and starts to kneel down. Then in one swift motion his wakizashi is drawn and implants it less then an inch from his face. His cold, red eyes stare into the wizard's own. "Do we understand eachother."
