Lanten is fine, I would rather you play the character you actually want to play rather then trying to shoe horn you into something else. I will find a way to introduce you soon.

you can favourite them by click on the little "+" symbol in the top right of the post.
Plus apparently we've started, though I didn't know until I looked at the game page. I guess it needed me to post so that it knows where we left off, so to speak.

Oh, looking back through the forum I apologise for the attitude about mixing cleric with wizard, it really is a awesome class if going for mystic thurger.
No apologies necessary. I tend to tune my characters towards the events of the story, rather than following the class. If they weren't constantly busy with things that had to be done, as well as that Edan has not had to cast any spells lately, he would figure out that he should probably trade in his Scale Mail for lighter armor that won't hamper his casting as much.
If the the trade goes through the temple he might be able to get lighter armor and a silver holy symbol. *chuckle* Ah well, that's something to be done later.
DM, what stores does the temple have along those lines? It has been... a week, if not more since Edan and Godelina arrived, I suspect, so that would mean they would have attended services-- *looks up info on Iomedae's Temples*-- Hrm. It might be possible for Edan to manage that.. Now I've just got to get him to realize that he has an aptitude for magic. Perhaps an appropriate accidental cantrip?
If another week passes, and they're still gathering info, I'll have him figure out during the 'aid' that they likely offer to the townsfolk, so he can be proactive about it.

Best suggestion would be mithral armour if you can get it sometime as it reduces arcane spell failiour by 10% I believe and arcane armour training and mastery together with that means a -30% which covers quite a bit of armour. This includes sheilds too I believe.
Mithral would be great, but he better start saving those copper pieces. Unless there's a small dragon hoard under Saltmarsh you're about to discover, it could be awhile. ;-)
I'm just giving all my games a heads up. at the end of June all my supervisors quit leaving me the head of my department. Since I was given their duties in addition to my own, my time has been becoming very strained. I will try to continue to post as much as I can. If this is an issue or when it does become an issue, please let me know and I will bow out. I hope that this matter will be concluded by mid to late September. Thank you all for your understanding.
When I agreed to come back to this game, I was under the impression that a choice for a new supervisor would have been made by now but it is becoming clear that it will not.
I understand that situation. A similar thing happened to me last year when my boss left. I wish you the best of luck in managing it and not getting frustrated out of your mind.
I could always PC Puppet you until things get less strained, I have enjoyed your character and his interactions.
Just making sure, you guys are planning to pick up Edan and Lina when you go to eat and then go back to the house with them to assist with the investigation?
That sounds about right to me, although if they want to do a one day later thing, I'm alright with it. I am thinking we should strike while the iron's hot now that the bands back together. ;-)
You sure? Lasts a minute and the idea was to wait for 'Shari. Also her AC is now 20 with the spell and if there is any loot...finders keepers. She ain't a AD&D Paladin and won't merely give away loot. The way she sees it, cash is needed to enhance her weapons and armour to more effectively all creatures she comes across. Hoping to get a cold iron sword later.
Normal evil Civilians don't register on Detect Evil. If there is anything that does detect, they're significant, like Edan and Godelina are "significant", or "empowered" representatives of the church. So I (and Edan) are operating on the basis that if there is something there for Godelina to detect, they would be better served finding out immediately-- not that he's expecting her to kick the door in, mind you.

Ahh I had forgotten that, that was the reason we persued who that guy might've been at the art place because he showed up evil and the DM said normal civilians don't show up, only those with class levels or somewhat powerful. As my Paladin duty I must act.
I am now calling anything that incites a Paladin to righteous furor the "G" factor. Edan wanted to resolve this without (much) bloodshed, but forgot to account for the G(odelina) factor.

Lol, well I've seen Paladins act worse and regularly stop the group's rogue from lockpicking, even though the person the group is against is behind the door. Plus she wasn't too concerned with 'Shari's breaking into a person's home.

Ironically enough, I think Lanten was more concerned with 'Shari's breaking and entering. I think her honest charms is the only reason he didn't haul them off to jail (and it probably wouldn't have made it as fun). ;-)

lol well there's also the missing kid, which we have yet to resolve.
Im on vacation in NY with some friends so I apologize if my posts are spotty the next few days. I am trying to post as much as possible but it is hard to find time
Ramar, if you are still lurking out there feel free to hop back into posts at any time while we are at the cultists house, we will assume you were keeping watch on the street and came in to see what the commotion was about. If you come back into it after they leave send me an email and we can talk about a suitable reason why you left and returned
This is the first time I've had time to check up all week. My time is becoming tougher. Perhaps it would be best to have me go on walk about for a while.
Very well, you heard snickering in the shadows of an alley and then your father's name when everyone else went into the building and ran off to investigate. You will be busy with that until you return IRL. We can role play something about it when you have more time.
Even with everyone surrounding the cleric he still manages to dodge and weave, blocking attacks with his armor or mace. Ignoring Shari's little prick into his exposed armpit, he retaliates with a shout, again swinging at Lina this time with only one hand holding the mace. His other arms gauntlet occupied blocking Edan's sword swing.
Edan backed off to aid Godelina, and cast CLW, healing her for 8.

Level 3: 1d8+1
Feat: Selective Channeling.
Good choice in channeling there. Great when we're fighting anything living you can selectively choose not to heal them. Always a must for clerics I find. Last thing you want to do is heal someone the same amount of hit points as what the fighter damaged them for.
Also, shame Godelina didn't overhear Lanten. I'm sure she'd like to have a word or two if she did lol.
Level 3:1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Feat: Double Slice to add a little more damage.
New Class Feature: Defensive Flurry. When using two weapons he gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC against melee attacks until the beginning of his next turn.
LOL - I'm glad Godelina didn't either; he's being a smart ass. ;-)
Also a question to the DM, will I be able to use Lay on Hands on myself whilst using sword and shield?
Just found it was a swift action so could've healed myself, but would like to know your ruling on using it with weapon and shield in hand or not.
Normally you channel the energy through your hands to heal others, you will just channel it straight to your own wounds, you dont need to touch yourself
Also, if you roll less then half your new HP the take half. (So Shari, you get 4 hp, not one)
"We better head to bed then." she states as she gets up and wipes her eyes. "Wake me when we head to the church." Godelina heads to her own private bedroom, only removing her armour once she'd made sure the door is closed and locked and the curtains on the windows are closed.
Erm.. as agents of the Temple, we are staying at the temple. ^^;
