Male Human

Here is your OOC discussion for our new adventure; brain storm, have fun and most importantly always keep your mind on a leash when you let it wander, you never know if it wont come back.

Dotting...

Is this a coastal town? If so , then she just arrived in here because she heard rumors her father, stopped by in town, and she wants to track down his whereabouts. Also, she wants to hide from her last 'boyfriend'. If not, then she traveled to the town, because she is low on funds, but her goal is to find him.

Male Human Psion(telepath) 2

Sounds good. how large is this town? how many taverns? is there a local detachment of Hell Knights?

Male Human

Rather then being IN Cheliax proper it will be just outside of Cheliax in a medium sized coastal town that is sort of a stop over for ships on trade routs to resupply.

Male Human

I am thinking of using Saltmarsh as the base for the town, I will of course change it to suit my purposes but I believe it will work well as a place to advance through out first few levels. I may use some of the modules adventure ideas so if anyone has played through anything in Saltmarsh previously please let me know.

Well, I played in Saltmarsh, but this was back in 1980, does that count, he he.

Male Human

That is probably long enough ago that it indeed does not count lol, I am using the updated Saltmarsh campaign setting so it will probably be different enough (along with my own strange tweaks) that you may get deja vu at parts but it shouldn't hinder the gameplay.

Actually, Saltmarsh was never detailed until 3E anyway, there was the U1 module in 1E, Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh my very first module.

To the North or East?

Doesn't matter too much. I use this character to fit in with everything. She's certainly not going to attempt the Test of Starstone at this leel and will be far more focused on serving her deity for now and earning her praise. It's a test to become a demi-god so she knows it's not going to be easy.

Lantern Lodge

Half-Elf Inquisitive 2/ Seeker 3

With that in mind, I'm altering Edan's "Sun" domain to "Glory". It makes a bit more sense.

Male Human

Saltmarsh will be on the Eastern border of Andoran and Cheliax on the Andoran side of it. Andoran was once a part of Cheliax that rebelled because the common people did not want to be part of the devil worship.
There are now strange things happening in the town and people have been sent to investigate. Others just happened to wander in.

Good. That settles my bonus languages.

It'd be neat if a lot of people's games set in the world were interconnected, since I'm running a game on these boards where this starting location is very near where the adventure starts in my game.

Might lead to a slight problem if there's a hub. "Oh, some adventurers came through last week and solved the problem. Thanks for coming, though."

My DM origonally started the game in his own world and the more he read about Golarian he decided to do things so that our characters ended up there with the world of his own being located somewhere south off the map of Golarian.

For the sake of Thoroughness

IC THREAD LINK

A post from my character won't dot yet, but I'm present.

Ramar: is there because he found a snippit of information saying that there was some sort of deamon cult (since he is looking for the cult that killed his father) in this town and he wanted to investigate.

The church has asked Godelina and Edan to investigate some strange going ons in town.

Ushari: Just arrived in here because she heard rumors her father, stopped by in town, and she wants to track down his whereabouts. Also, she wants to hide from her last 'boyfriend'. Also/Or because she is low on funds, but her goal is to find him[father].

got the thread. I have a s+!+ load of tabs on Firefox to help me keep track of all the threads I'm in so far :)

About the church thing, I like it. You work off my background but at the same time you've made a interesting background for your own character.

Ramar can fit in with us since as we are holy people it is out duty to hunt down demons, not to mention many men with her name travel to the Worldwound where demons pop out all the time. I'm sure the two Iomeadae holy followers would be more than happy to dispense justice.

Ushari's backstory certainly sounds interest. I'd like to see how it get's flushing out if at all.

So, since we are in close proximity, let's talk character interaction-- which reminds me, I haven't put up a description for him.

What are some of Godelina's habits?

Edan is often sketching, as he is not a "professional" yet, but if he ever set down roots he would. Most certainly more of a person that would look in tomes and scrolls, not "thirsty" for knowledge, but aware that if Godelina is the physical type, he should back her up by being the "intellectual" of the two of them. Hmm... I think I'll have him own a pair of spectacles that he can perch on the end of his nose when reading. Definitely a "thinking before acting" sort of person.

For some reason when you said about him often sketching I had a image of that scene in Titanic where the guy draws the woman naked :). Won't quite happen though, she isn't one that would give herself overly afterall, her deity is Iomedae, not Calistria.

She would definantly be the more physical type since I gave her decent strength and the Paladin's smite ability (much better than 3.5 D&D edition) will increase her attack and damage as well as her AC, making her awesome in combat, but I think that's only if I declare my smite on a character that is in fact evil.

I was thinking of aiming for her to be more of the "tom-boy" type where she doesn't act like most females her age and perfers short hair. You'd never really see her in a dress, but for nights she has her clerical robes to dress up in either for bed clothing or if she is able to stay at a temple of Iomedae whilst in a village in honour of her deity.

As I said above I was aiming for a type who wouldn't be promiscious, she hasn't even experienced another man's touch so she'll not know how to act if ever put in that position, though if it was someone in a bar hitting on her she's the type that would grab the guy's write and twist it or kick him in the nuts if he didn't understand "no" being said.

Not really sure if she'd have other habits, though she generally tries to be kind and would probably take interest in his sketches. Out of character it would be funny if their relationship advanced and she actually let him sketch her like that. Could be a famous art peice:
The Paladin revealing her virtue.

Boy, well Ushari, is almost as naive as Godelina, but her background is consdierably darker, and there was not a lot of love in her life. Not even her mother loved her all that much, so she is terrified of getting hurt emotionally again.

She doies like to sing, but her singing voice is a little off. I play it as a birth defect in her vocal cords, so not really anything she can do about it. And of course she loves the sea as well. Just not sailors, he he

I wouldn't think a beautiful young girl would be afraid of sailors. Especially if they sang and dressed like THIS :)

Anyone else here roll for age, hight and weight like I did?

Lantern Lodge

Half-Elf Inquisitive 2/ Seeker 3

Hah. Relationship-wise, Edan is.. Well, he's a guy, so he'll want to, but only so long as it is a willing exchange. He may be focused more on making sure Godelina survives whatever they get thrown into, thereby ensuring that the rest of them survive. I think I can see him sneaking off with a serving girl or innkeeper's daughter, but he'd probably be very careful of how Godelina perceives it. The less friction he can cause, the better (pun not intended).

I still have to roll for height and weight, too. *blames distractions*

Think at first she'll try not to take any notice, but it'll be a nagging thing and then if they start growing closer and closer she'll raise her sword and place it between the two of you, making sure that she stays away from you, though won't know how to behave or ask for such things.

I made this character about a few days before the recruitment thread appeared. :)

Then if this game goes on long enough, it will be interesting to see how she reacts to the magical tattoo he'll get.

Male Human

We'll good to see that some of your are coming up with interaction lol. We seem to have lost a few people. Namely Zale and Ramar.

Lantern Lodge

Half-Elf Inquisitive 2/ Seeker 3

Huh.. well, we are the three you were looking for. =)

Male Human

Lol well, if they dont post anything by tomorrow morning I will start the campaign, if they show up I will work them in somehow.

Male Human Psion(telepath) 2

Still here. Long day at work.
So i'm a little unclear as to whether we wanted to start knowing each other or just wing an introduction? a little dm ex machina?
either way, Ramar is a little on the quite side until you get to know him.

Male Human

I am down with whatever you guys want, if you want to have meet them while looking for help finding the cult that killed your father or if you want to have made your own way to town and have me get you all together is up to you. just let me know, everyones input is welcome

It is possible that someone in this cult may know of her father, or he may even be a member of the cult.

Male Human

Heh, I already have stories within stories woven for how you guys get to your final goals, they actually intertwine quite nicely, I just need to know if you know each other or if I need to get you guys to meet.

We can all know each other, maybe Ushari is waitressing at the inn where the others are staying at. Or she gave a performance and the others were impressed by this. Let me know what you think about that.

Lantern Lodge

Half-Elf Inquisitive 2/ Seeker 3

Well, they are all about the same age, so that is one thing they have in common. Not to mention despite their calling, Godelina and Edan are still teenagers, so there may be some overlap in their interests. Practically speaking, it is always good to be on a first-name basis with not only a Cleric, but a Paladin as well. *looks over her sheet for ideas* My goodness.. Godelina's got competition-- well, not that either of them are as approachable as a normal person.

At a guess, depending on the amount of time that everyone has been in Saltmarsh:
Short time: Travelers that are her age are not that common, let alone a pair that are with the same temple, and especially one that looks the way Godelina does. Not to mention that the both of them are somewhat sheltered, and new to the town. They make easy friends, and definitely are not like the rest. If they have heard her sing, one or both may want her to come sing at Iomedae's temple.

Longer time: Not only are the two her age, but they seem to actively care about people. They've been in town for a while now, helping out where they can, even giving out free healing. The Paladin, who looks like she could be an angel, is actually a nice person, along with her cleric friend. The two of them (assuming they are not staying at the temple) have rooms in the inn where Ushari works, and they're decent people. They make easy friends, and definitely are not like the rest. Having heard her sing, one or both may want her to come sing at Iomedae's temple.

Very nice. I like it. Of course she would look like somekind of celestial angel since she is a Aasimar and has a stong amount of celestial blood.

reguarding the short time ti makes sense. She would've been more shelted than most clerics since as a paladin you have to be VERY careful with their alignment and gain so much more from their deity. They could both agree that she has a beautiful voice.

Paladin can't yet heal, but she will have the heal skill for treating wounds and the sick. She can help with surmans at the temple if there is one wearing her cleric's robe and discussing duties as well as investigating the strange goings on. After all, they only heard of strange goings on coming from this area so she'll see if there are any more details.

Male Gnome Summoner/1

I'm here, my life goes a little crazy likie this sometimes and I just can't get to a computer. Its typically not a problem with, myself being on for 12 hours on some days, but iti s possible that it might happen more often, just life being that way. so I'll leave it up to you if you want me in or not.

Male Human

No, its fine, as long as you think you can keep it to a post every other day or so I understand that life gets busy. just hop into the conversation as to whether you all want to know each other or you want me to get you guys together, so far it looks like most everyone wants to know each other

Lantern Lodge

Half-Elf Inquisitive 2/ Seeker 3

Let's see if I can help figuring lead-ins for the others.

Zale: You don't have a history or background on your sheet, so I've got nothing.

Ramar: Given his uncommon appearance, provided he keeps to himself, he could be talked about through the rumor mill for weeks. Hardly speaking, and even better if he is rarely seen, most townsfolk would likely step lightly around him, helped in that by the bastard sword he carries. His uncommon hair and eye color would be a source of speculation for those that know just enough to get themselves (and others) in trouble. Unless you've got more details, that's about all i can think of. The nature of the oddness in this town would probably be more of a draw, once we find out what it is.

Male Gnome Summoner/1

I'll have my full sheet up around 6 or 7 tonight. as for his back ground. This is what I had so far.

Zale Whitefire was like most other gnomes he had ever encountered, wild, hyper inexcusably curious and unfathomably untamed. Up until the day that Iomedae intervened. She sent one of her minor servants to save the gnome from a nasty pack of thieves, while he was traveling on the road. The beast was tall and lean, with the body of a great hound and the head of an eagle. The beast was nurturing and kind, but sought justice over most things. She told him to hop on her back and she would take him to a place that he should leave his worldly trappings at the door, becuase he would find his purpose there. Shelllek(the eidolon) stayed with him for the first part of the journey and served as the lantern to Iomedae's guiding light for quite some time and still does so today.
-----------------------

SO what I was thinking is that some where along Godelina and Edan's travels, Zale and Shellek spot the paladin and cleric along the road and find that they are the ones he is supposed to be accompaning. While Zale is just an enthusiastic follower of Iomedae, Shelleck is of Iomedae's actual plane. It is there mission to see you both succede.

If that works for youguys.

I was going to say, Gnomes don't age like humans they age slowly. Like dwarfs their starting age is 40 which is adulthood, like 15 is adulthood for humans + whatever dice is to be used for aging, consulting the table. Think I'll give you this URL to help you with creating this character: Pathfinder Rules

Lantern Lodge

Half-Elf Inquisitive 2/ Seeker 3

In that case, that would make it a rather literal Deus Ex Machina. Works for me. Edan would be a bit leery until he saw the Eidolon, then would take him at face value.

Male Gnome Summoner/1

Oh, also I saw someone say they opened a ton of tabs to keep up with threads.

if you look toward the top on the right, where it says list this thread. If you do that with every thread you are in you get a nice long list of them and also the nifty button to the side that tells you how many new posts are in there.

thanks for the Srd link, I am a big fan of that site!

Male Human Psion(telepath) 2

Alright, so the decision is that we all know eachother. Seeing that we're all comfortable with each other will help a lot. So we're new to town and looking into a cult. if i had a nickle for every time that happened! ;)

Male Gnome Summoner/1

Well of course you trust the outsiders when you can't trust the insiders.

Male Gnome Summoner/1

I hate to do this guys, but I think I am going to go ahead and drop, Its nothing any of you have done, I would love to take a part of this game, I am just feeling like I can't give it the energy you guys deserve. Thanks for the opportunity, sorry for letting you down.

Lantern Lodge

No worries. Like someone said in another thread, "better to come right out and say you can't manage it, rather than trying and fading away"

I agree thank you for admitting it I am rather disappointed however since I wanted to see how your summoner did. Ok so my remaining 4 know each other?

Three of us do. Ushiro, Godelina, and Edan. Ramar is the odd one out.
