Leveled up. I think that the best part is that I now have 16 HP. I picked up another level 0 spell -- open/close. I think that will be helpful for opening doors and chests from a distance in order to avoid traps.

From what said Book 1 is meant to be pretty deadly.

Book 2 of Ruins of Azlant proved quite deadly on a related note.

I've invested in Bulvi's defence a lot and even he's found it tough going. I am still having fun but hopefully when we get into the next book it'll be a bit easier.


Guys, I think I'm out of this. I'm not enjoying it, and find it too deadly to be fun. I also have taken on other resposibilities so that I need to be careful with my time. I hope the rest of you have fun.

Yes, Quasit is a rogue. I'm not trying to be coy and pretend she isn't. But I really think in her mind, she's just a girl who's had to do a lot of rough things to get by and to survive, and in her mind she's no more a thief than she is a murderer, even though she's shown herself to be good at picking locks and stabbing people in the kidneys.

Plus she was already mad, so the thief thing just put her over the edge. :)

I know nothing of the module aside from players guide and the wiki on Irrisen. As a native, I assume Selena knows the common knowledge of the area, such as that the dancing huts guard the border.

Also, Bulvi, there is a bit of refluffing going on there, potentially. I sent a pm to make sure the gm saw it and didn't miss it. If the gm didn't notice she may ask me to change it. Of course, you likely won't know it in-character for a while.

Assuming the gm saw and is fine with it, the only foxy thing about Selena is her familiar.

We are not actually in Irrisen. We are in a forest in Taldor tracking down some evildoers who seem to be responsible for some unseasonal cold that has overcome the area, and who kidnapped a noblewoman for some reason. The hut we just encountered was a normal hut on stilts that had a guardian doll in it, and we've had reports about evil fey who are working for white witches, but our characters really don't know much about such things at this point.


Ah, so much further south than I thought, ok. Doesn't really change her action though.


As a note, Selena isn't hiding, hence being near cover.

She is watching to see how the group responds to her, and how long it takes them to notice her.

You know, if a trap goes off in our faces, and we discover a few seconds later that a winter witch is watching us, it's not going to be pretty.


On the other hand, interrupting would be idea, since it is pretty clear you are in the middle of handling something dangerous. Wouldn't be prudent to pip up and possibly cause a mishap.

Also, how would you know she is a winter witch?

Truth is, I didn't expect you guys to remain oblivious this long anyways.


Oh wow, the map changed without me reloading it. Cool. (and thank god. It takes around 5-15 minutes or so to load.)

It seems the trap was between me and the group. Funny how our understanding of a situation can vastly change over time. :)

I've selected my lvl up choices save for spells, though I need to do some research tonight to make sure it is all pfs legal. Pretty sure it is though.

Of course, with both witch and arcanist having my familiar as spellbook, and sharing the same spell list, is there any reason to bother separating the spells known between the classes?
