Round 1

Hrimnagel puts his hands to his ears to muffle the shrieking. He prays to Count Ranalc to kill the brainy thing with a sharp sound that gives away his position. A dimly glowing rapier appears next to the Cerebic Fungi and attempts to stick it.

The deep gnome then backs into Cladissa attempting to push her deeper into the room.

Can you guys use the colors of their auras to declare your targets please? That way there won't be any confusion when I do the update.

Actually, I don't. I used my 5-foot step to be able to see into the room. Sorry.

Jelani, that's fair. I have interpreted that spell and its predecessor, flaming sphere, that since the orb appears in a square and hasn't moved yet, then for the first round it can effectively strike twice. I hoped you would agree.

Nope, unfortunately not. That would increase their power significantly, and I don't believe that's RAW or RAI.

Round 1

Two more of the alien fungal creatures shamble forward out of the darkness, approaching Hrimnagel. They appear to be unable to locate him, and stop near the door, waiting to see what set off the shrieker and opened the door.

"Let's get some light in there!" Cladissa whispers, while preparing to cast a spell. It's quite difficult to hear her over the claxon shrieking of the fungus.

Cladissa steps forward and peers into the room and tries another new trick she just picked up. She gestures and incants, and a miniature thundercloud appears over the nearest fungal creature (that's moving). It rains little lightning bolts down on the alien thing, leaving it covered in electrical burns.

Hrimnagel puts his hands to his ears to muffle the shrieking. He prays to Count Ranalc to kill the brainy thing with a sharp sound that gives away his position. A dimly glowing rapier appears next to the Cerebic Fungi and attempts to stick it. The spiritual weapon stabs the fungus, cutting it a bit.

The deep gnome then backs into Cladissa attempting to push her deeper into the room.

Nyugusk comes into the room and immediately starts to reel as bizarre visions strobe inside his skull.

Screaming, "Aaugh! Get out of my skull!", he scuttles forward until he's near enough to lash out with his accordion-like pincer arm at one of the tentacled fungoids.

The shrieking fungus continues to emit a painfully loud noise which assaults the eardrums of the Pathfinders.

Argor says, "Out of my way Grommuk!"

The orc ignores him, as he has finally stopped vomiting. He looks down at the alien mushroom with hatred burning in his beady, primitive eyes. Balling his fists up into a massive grey-green bludgeon of flesh and bone he brings them down on the alien with titanic force. "SMASH!" The fungus pops like an overinflated balloon, spattering gooey mushroom bits and alien blood all over the walls nearby.

After glancing briefly at the thick layer of mold he sees nothing of interest.

The door pops open with a squelching sound.

This musty storeroom is filled with boxes and crates stacked in disorganized piles, some only a few boxes high and others reaching all the way to the ceiling. Small puddles stand on the floor, and the occasional drip of water echoes in the darkness. Within the room, directly in front of Nyugusk is a horrid mass of eyes, mouths, and formless flesh which stares in all directions. Seeing the half-orc in return, its countless maws begin yammering ceaselessly.

Across the room covering a fifteen foot-square patch of the ceiling a black, amorphous blob piles up on itself. It is a massive, quivering mound of midnight sludge that glistens darkly before surging forward.

Begin Round 1

The insane mass of eyes and mouths shudders before seeming to erupt in the most horrid noise the Agents have ever heard. It's like the screaming of a thousand painfully murdered women and children, seasoned with the cackling mad notes of the darkest corners of an asylum. All the Freaks can hear the alien shrieking tearing at their sanity, but all except for Nyugusk manage to resist its call.

The thing then launches a glob of spittle from one of its larger mouths at the alchemist, who stands clutching his temples. The gobbet hits him right in the eyes, burning them and blinding him. Nyugusk blinks involuntarily as the horrid thing's spittle claws its way into his tear ducts and scratches at the surface of his eyeballs.

The mouther then sliters forward to stand in front of the compromised alchemist, and melts the floor under it into a soupy muddy morass.

The huge black ooze creature clinging to the ceiling slurps across the room towards the door. Still hanging over the head of the mouth-eye creature, it lashes out at Nyugusk with a huge black pseudopod. The ooze easily snatches the alchemist off his feet, and quickly wrapping him up like a constrictor snake made of acidic oil-jelly, crushes him. The ooze holds Nyugusk off the ground, as the alchemist still squirms in its grasp.

Grommuk roars as he sees his companion snatched from him. "MONSTERS! Give back cousin!" He punches and kicks the mass of mouths and eyes standing in the doorway. the creature flows out of the way around his blows.

Moved the rest of you up a bit, on the assumption that you would have followed the orcs as they moved into the chamber further.

The black pudding can't AOO this round since it's grappling Nyug.

You guys are up.

Oh wait, you have stoneskin up don't you. Shit....-goes to edit-

Argor's mind begins to race as he observes the creatures, quickly recalling obscure texts and chronicles he had studied describing such creatures, attempting to recollect any weaknesses they could exploit.

For the moment, however, he felt it would be best to call in some help, as the marginally smarter but exponentially more hideous orc has become overwhelmed by the dark ooze in the next chamber.

Hrimnagel is shocked at thing attacking Nyug. Not knowing what else to do, he shoots an arrow at it. The arrow goes wide as he can't concentrate to aim. Flashbacks of his friend's death flood the deep gnome's thoughts.

I would hope that we could have given Grommuk a hit from the wand before opening the door after that cold damage. Also, would it be possible for me to give Grommuk Fortune before he rolled for another chance to hit?

Fortune, yes. Hit from wand, only if you want to be over by him. Getting there and opening the door was only like two rounds worth of actions and there's difficult terrain in the way.

Fortune SMASH: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Still a miss, unfortunately.

Then he seems to suddenly realize he's being crushed and flails all his pincers at the massive ooze.

Just need Cladissa's confirmation on her position, and her action.
