Yes, sorry, my classes have had me pretty swamped this semester.

Faedrin is only able to send his light a little ways down the tunnel before the size and shape of the thing make it so that he can't see where to direct the lights. Just as he does so, the lights show him two giant spiders scurrying out of the confines of the tunnel, following Kascio's self-extraction.

Kascio's dagger digs hard into the forebody of the spider, as the thing lets out a squeel of pain. The spider then turns and snaps at the man, but he skips back just in time for it to snap on empty air. The spider behind the first goes up the wall of the crevice to emerge in the space on the wall above the first. From its vantage point, it tries to bite Dareon. It struck before it had a solid purchase, so its angle was too far off.

As the spiders come out, Esmeralda quickly directs Penance towards them by pointing her finger towards the sound of combat. "A bug problem this time. Glad you can hit those, yeah?" she says with a smirk. As he passes her she touches him with a guidance spell, followed with, "It's a shame I can't enlarge you on these stairs." she claims.

Guidance on Penance

A resounding, deep "Hmm..." is heard as Penance goes upstairs and passes her, dragging his sword the length of the way. Finally once he gets to the top, he 2 hands the enormous sword and brings it down on the second spider.

Penance swings his overlarge weapon at the spider clinging above the tunnel's mouth. There is a loud clang as much of ther blade hits wall, but there was still enough blade left to create a large cut across the thorax of the thing.

As a touch of Tanjvats' thought process washes over Fade, he is able to step ino the gap, and thrust his rapier at the spider ozzing ichor from both of its knife wounds. Jabbing the tip at the thing's face, he is able to actually pierce one of the larger black pearls. With a final squeel the thing drops as its legs begin to curl up.

Tanvats, caught up in Fade's fervor, is forced to wait until an opening presents itself.

One does so, shortly after, as Dareon takes the death of the first spider as an opportunity to try and push past and into the confines of the tunnel itself.

Dareon, the first spider is out. You can move into its space with a 5' step. Otherwise, you can move past spider 2, and provoke. Either way you do not need to overrun.
If you accept the AoO: Spider 2 AoO on Dareon 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

No sooner does Dareon move, that Tanjvats rushes into the space left empty by him. Feeding off of Fade, he steps up and bashes the remaining spider in the very eyes that the two are obsessed with. The hit squished two of the eyes, and the insect fell from its perch.

Both spiders lay, unmoving and dripping ichor from their wounds.

The tunnel is not natural, per se, as much as looking like a giant crack caused by whatever ruined the original Irespan in the first place. Dareon squeezes his way into the tight stone corridor, his only light source is Fade's bobbing magical lights. Where the tunnel bends is as far as that light can go, before it leaves Faedrin's line of sight and ability to direct them effectively.

Even with the light at the bend, and pouring out through the tunnel, Dareon can see a decent-sized chamber beyond. The space of which cannot quite fully be determined. Webbing covers the walls, floor, and what little of the ceiling that can be seen. The room is littered with dessicated fish carcasses and a few larger bodies. There is a freshly killed dolphin's body laying near the center of the chamber, and to the southwest a drop-oof where the sound of sloshing water can be heard.

Now, Dancing lights doesn't say anything about controlling them unseen, but it stands to reason that you couldn't direct it where to go if you couldn't actually determine where you needed to send them. That said, I figure you could get the light to N17, so that's where I measured the light's effect for Dareon.

At Dareon's heeding, Faedrin shakes off his uncharacteristic melancholy and presses into the small fissure behind Kascio. Peeking around the rough bend, he renews his spell and sends the light on ahead a bit further. Seeing just a bit of the chamber and the dolphin, he grimmaces, "Who'd have thought a pair of spiders could eat so well in such an isolated den. As the group enters the chamber proper, and Fade brings his lights further inside, the finer details of the room become much clearer. Beyond the webs covering every surface, and the littered carcasses, the southwest portion of the room opens into a forty-foot-diameter silo-like chamber. Ten feet down from the edge, the level of the water bobs and sloshes lightly. On the south wall of the silo, old metal pipes running the height of the chamber, some thirty feet above the water.

A quick examination of the room reveals that there is nothing interesting here beyond webs, corpses, and a big cistern. The light getting any closer to the pool, someone can easily see that the cistern is fairly deep. The smell of salt and the marks of the water line tell you that it is sea water getting in from somewhere. The pipes, considering that they go well into the depths of the cistern, could be to move water here from somewhere, move it from here to somewhere, or both. Beyond that, there is not much to tell by looking at them.

retired

Faedrin nods at Tanjvats, accepting that his response is as much of an answer as there is. He gives him a reassuring pat on the shoulder then turns his attention to the room and cistern. As his lights send dappled rings dancing across the surface of the pool of water, he regards his distorted reflection then the large pipe. "I'd be curious to see where these pipes go, but I don't think we should risk swimming blindly to find out. It's obvious sea water's getting in, there's no telling what came in with it or how long the pipe is." He rises and steps away from the water, nodding back toward the breach in the wall they'd crawled through, "Maybe we should head back that way for now. This cistern isn't going anywhere and we can find our way back easily enough if we care to."

Presuming we go back...

Once back in the previous room, Faedrin snaps his fingers as a thought comes to him. Fishing a piton from his pack, he drives it into the wall a few feet beneath the illusory window the bats flew out of earlier. He then attaches a length of rope to the piton and tosses the free end out the window. "We can tie off a boat and find this window now if we come back later."

The stairs curve down into darkness, but the darkneess is pierced by Faedrin's forward light and Tanjvats' orcish vision. They turn steeply downward as the go, but only just the once, contrary to all the other long sets of stairs the group has passed before. These steps continue east for some ways before cutting to the right a bit and going further. Finally, it seems that the space ahead expands beyond a hallway's width. With Tanjvats' eyes and Fade and Kascio's elven vision, the three of them can see what looks like two large, about ten feet or so, mounds of dirt sitting in the path.
