1 to 50 of 88 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

I am continuing a Kingmaker game, but some of my players have disappeared. Looking for 2-4 players.

Base creation rules:
Stats: 20 Point Buy (no stats below 10)
Traits: 1 Campaign, and 1 more.
Classes and Archetypes allowed: CRB, APG, UM, UC, and ACG's Bloodrager, Brawler, and Warpriest (No magus, Summoners, Gunsligners or other ACG classes)
Races: Core + Others*
Starting Cash: 1250
Character Background: Ideal, if none I'll make one up and it becomes your back story, with a job that best matches your profession/class and that is it.
Character Descriptions are a plus.
Must be willing to post at least once a day for 5 days out of the week.

Alignments: Non-Evil.

Your level 2.

*Other races are Assimar, Tieflings, Changelings, and a few others that are listed in ARG, but no customs (except I few I made)
and to get access to them will be by chance, pick 2 Core races, and 1 non-core race, (I'll add 1 more race randomly), and I'll randomise the gender, like in my Expanded Horizon games.

Dotting for interest.

I'm currently leaning towards the idea of a head-stomping, wine-swilling, puppy-cuddling Barbarian with a heart of gold.

What are the other players? Is there a role needed?

I'm one of the players right now. I'm a succubus touched tiefling bard (yes, I am aware that you're all drooling right now).

We also have Halloran, a human wizard. So... yes, there are many roles to fill, but we have a variety of NPCs in the game who can fill gaps. It would just be nice to have more PCs than NPCs in the party.

That being said, I've loved the twists we've had with our NPCs so far.

Grand Lodge

Extremely interested. I'm going heavens oracle.
How are we doing HP past 1?

I'm kinda new to this play by post stuff. But, I'm a fast learner. How would you like my character formatted? I have it on pda right now but I'm willing to change it.

P.S. What alignment are we going for (I have a paladin I'm dieing to play)

Grand Lodge

Ok, changed my mind, going with a dex based fighter. Any way I could use the Lore Warden archetype from Pathfinder Society Field Guide? I have other options if not.

Also, is the no stats below 10 before or after racials?

Dante Pholve, Human Warpriest

Lake pirates attacked the peaceful enclave of priests and monks along the western shore of Lake of Mists and Veils. The residents of the temple could do little to turn back the unprovoked attack, except save who they could.

Hiding in an underground storage room, with his keeper, Jorzal, the pair were set upon by a particularly savage woman, Mirezma, who killed Jorzal instantly.

Toying with the young Dante, the brave boy stood his ground against the pirate woman, taking up a crossbow which lay in disrepair. Not realizing that the weapon was in fact broken, Dante held the weapon up, and fired a bolt true into Mirezma's heart.

Hiding in a half-empty barrel of wine, Dante waited until his hunger pangs drove him from his hiding spot. He surveyed the death unleashed upon his brethren, and vowed to fight in Abadar's name.

Needs some refining, I know.

I would like to apply. Have to make this char level 2 though

An unexpected adventurer, 3 months ago Briggette was a barmaid working in a riverside inn. There was nothing exceptional about her and her career plans involved marrying a local farmer at some point settling down and raising kids. Then the inn was attacked by bandits, it was the first time Briggitte has ever been seriouly threatened and she suprised herslelf and everyone else, growing taller with red skin, vicous claws and small horns as well as immensely strong she tore several of the bandits into little pieces.
While happy to have survived , she found that things had changed she was stronger than she had been and could feel the rage bubbling below the surface. The locals were no longer comfortable with her anymore , certainly not as a barmaid. In the end she decided to leave and she if she could make some real money and find somewhere were her new talants fitted in better. So taking some of the dead bandits gear she set out to find her destiny or at least a pile of gold

** spoiler omitted **...

Demonic Bulk ability is 4th level, not 2nd level.

Interested. I'm thinking a Monk (MoMS)/Fighter (Unarmed Fighter). I'm leaning away from the Brawler as it's a bit more Maneuver oriented than I had in mind. same for the Brawler archetype.

He would be a former gladiator ( possibly an escaped one), out to start new and perhaps start his own school.

Something like that work?

You know the Unarmed Damage will be taking a Hit, as the Fighter (Unarmed Fighter) does not increase the Unarmed Damage.

And I tend to be cautious about and with Master of Many Styles since it reminds me of the Summoner's Eidolon though it's not as bad

So far

Applied:
Tyvara -> EtienneDeGuerlin -> Human Cavalier
JohnHawkins -> Bridgette the Barmaid -> Human Bloodrager
Sai Ling -> ArdainnJadanas -> Elf Ranger

Interest:
GypsyMischief -> Barbarian
Zelit -> ?Paladin?
Kenji Elindir -> Fighter
tom_thiessen -> Human Warpriest
Arknight -> Monk/Fighter

If I go more fighter side of things I'm eventually planning on taking Monastic Legacy to help offset the unarmed damage dice a bit. If I just go a few fighter levels it might not be worth it.

I do have a build question for how a couple of feats interact as you see it though. I'm looking at taking Dragon Style and Dragon Ferocity. Dragon Style gives the first Unarmed Strike 1.5x STR Mod for damage. Dragon Ferocity says it adds a bonus to damage rolls equal to 1/2 STR modifier. As the DF is an untyped bonus, would this mean it stacks on the first Unarmed Strike where with an 18 STR, it would be 1D6 + 6 (Dragon Style) + 2 (Dragon Ferocity)?

Also, as the Unarmed Strike is considered a Natural Weapon, would Power Attack provide a +2 or a +3 bonus if used with the first UA attack (due to DS making it a 1.5x STR Mod)?

I'm trying to figure out a couple of ideas since I lose Flurry..... :)

I would say, No.
As I consider the Bonuses Given as a Style Bonus.
So all your Unarmed Strikes get a 1.5*STR.
I.e. STR 14
First Hit: 1d6+3
Second Hit: 1d6+3

For Power Attack I still consider it a one-handed Weapon, not two-handed.

Thank you, that's what I wanted to be sure of :)

Working on a character sheet...hoping it's finished tonight. If not, I'll have it tomorrow morning. :)

tom_thiessen Edit: Click on the name. I have to work out the equipment, but I think all the crunchiness is there.

Checked over some things

Please list your character's Deity
And you have some languages which will very like never be used.
Guessing data was from character who did not get in a Mummy's Mask game.

Lol I copied the format from kendra in carrion crown. If those are my only mistakes I'm pretty happy. Going to work on the backstory some more later today.

I am new to the PBP format, but very interested in this. I've got an idea for a dog-riding halfling cavalier that has been on the back burner for all of the table games I have played. If there is still room let me know and I will submit a character sheet for your consideration.

Shadow Lodge

I know you asked for non evil characters... but I will ask anyway.
Would you be open to evil characters granted that it would not be a random psychopath out to kill children, kick puppies and destroy the party from within?

I would be interested anyway and would create a Non-evil character if that's not the case.
The fact is I get it why most people ask for non evil characters as it's usually considered a greenlight to Mr. Nasty McGorefest

There is still room as I will be selecting two to four players from this recruitment.

I'll say it now, I allow classes with mounts/animal companions, though I'm not the biggest fan of them.

I would be open to it, but it would require a few things;

1) A great backstory
2) Character would need to be on a redemption path
3) I would have game with you at least once before.

And you right in that I find allowing evil characters tends to be a flag that attracts jerks of every stripe.

I could provide the first... but I'm not quite keen on the second (not that I'm opposed to redemption... I'm opposed to "planned" redemption.

I would redeem the character if the story goes in a way that seems to facilitate that .. but not as a requirement. Also .. if he is bound to change alignment .. there is really no reason to make a non-evil character from the start.

Anyway .. I don't think we played before so .. the evil character is out of the question ...

I'll make a non-evil one...
BTW .. I get your concerns ... and your third condition.

BTW... I was thinkuing about what to do and I saw you have a succubus touched Tiefling bard... I guess that with a slightly less positive attitude than what I was planning, you already do have the kind of character I was aiming to.
I'll will make a character that can get along with her.

Just remember if the race is not core, you have to gamble it.

Background:

Ever since she was a little girl Arianna and her friends would pretend they were princes or princesses and living a life of privilege and luxury far away from the tumbledown shops and ramshackle apartments that were their everyday existence.
While Arianna's mother was working, earning a few coppers here and there, Arianna and her friends would be roaming the streets, looking for adventure. it was there that they met Finnegan, an older boy, who showed them how they could make some extra coin for themselves by taking things from shops and merchant stalls when no one was looking and bringing them to him.
Arianna was entranced by the older boy and soon began following him around like a lost puppy. Finnegan was amused by attention of the scrawny girl and soon began teaching her more "tricks of the trade" as he called it. First she just stood outside watching the street while he went in to a locked shop or apartment then later showing her how to pick a locked door or palm a trinket from a shop.
Things were great until one day Arianna found Finnegan's lifeless body in a pool of his own blood in an alleyway with the word "thief" carved in his forehead. Scared Arianna ran home to wait for her mother and never ran the streets again.
Things were good for awhile until one particularly cold winter Ari's mother came down with a bad cough. Unable to pay for a priest Arianna's mother insisted she would be fine in "a day or so". A week passed and things did not get better. One night Arianna's mother called her over to her bed. There she showed Arianna an old faded letter. It was a love letter from a man calling himself Marcus and professing his undying love to her. Marcus, she explained, was Marcus Wyndham a lord of a minor house in Restov. The affair lasted several months until Arianna's mother announced that she was pregnant. After that Marcus broke off the relationship and told her to never contact him again, or else.
The next morning Arianna's mother was gone.
After attending a pauper's funereal for her mother with a few friends an idea began to form in Arianna's head, she would take the letter to Earl Wyndham and he would have to recognize her as his granddaughter and take her into the family.
Using some of her last remaining coins, Arianna bribed some of the Earl's servants to get an audience with the old man. After reading the letter the Earl summoned his son Marcus, now a grown man with a family of his own, into the room to respond to young woman's allegations. After reading the letter something passed behind his eyes, something nostalgic, before he tossed the letter to the ground, denouncing it as a fake and a forgery and accusing Arianna of trying to extort money from him and his family. as Arianna bent to retrieve the letter Marcus called the family servants to escort her out of his house. After being bodily thrown out of the townhouse and into the street Arianna made her way home, curled up on the bed, and wept.
The next morning there came a knock on Arianna's door. It was a messenger from Marcus's son who asked that Arianna meet with him that afternoon at an nearby inn and that she should bring the letter so that they may discuss what to do about the matter. Arianna's heart leapt. Arriving at the inn at the specified time Arianna was escorted to a room in the back. Seated at a table was the Earl's grandson, as she stepped into the room the door slammed behind her. She turned her head to see two of the Wyndham retainers on either side of her. As they grabbed her the lordling stood up and approached her demanding the letter so they could end this farce once and for all.
Infuriated, Arianna could not believe what was happening to her. Who did this sniveling little coward think he was? She was his half-sister after all and she would not be treated this way. Her years spent growing up on the streets took over and Arianna managed to break free as she rolled out of way and sprang to her feet. Pulling a lead shotted sap from her bodice she cracked the noble alongside his head. Hearing something crack as she tumbled out a window and into the alley below Arianna landed on her feet and began running. She didn't stop running until she reached an old abandoned building she and Finnegan used as a safehouse. Pausing just long enough to grab some old gear that she thought she would need Ari headed towards the town's main gate.
Arriving at the gate and unsure of what to do next Arianna spotted two men looking over one of the handbills she had noticed about town advertising for explorers to go into the Greenbelt and settle it down once and for all. This gave Arianna an idea, approaching the men she said "What an excellent idea, huh?" grabbing each by the arm she said again "Let's be on our way". Physically guiding the two by their elbows Arianna led them out the gate and into their destiny. giving one last final look over her shoulder she thought "This is not over, I will be back. Oh yes, I will be back".

Looks like we have a few entrants with good and great backstories.
Can't wait to see the rest.

Made the corrections to Deity and Languages. Updated the heck out of the story. Anything that needs modifying to better fit with your campaign, let me know.

I was recruited to another KM group. So I have to drop out here. Wish you best all.

Hrm I think Ill throw Jin into this one I have to adjust him for this game however... He Shall be A Sword Saint (Samurai)/ Monk (MoMS or Martial Artist)

I have three Characters in mind for this campaign, and I actually just finished the first book in my meatspace campaign. I am very good at NOT metagaming! My character does what he does!

1: Tikkle, Catfolk Brawler. A spazzy, charismatic, and quick Pugilist who is friendly with everyone, and always orders a good amount of Ale and bourbon while at Oleg's.

2: Czein, Half-Orc Ranger. A former Bandit and naturalist, he is a strength based, dual wielding ranger who OHK'ed Kessel and dropped Aucks in two blows ;P (Wherein he died taking Massive damage from the Barbarian)

3: Edgar, Human Ranger (On path to Duelist Prestige class). Actually an idea I got from the Shakespeare play, King Lear. In our rendition, Edgar ran away from his Noble Father to survive, but ended up gaining much wisdom in the process and confronting his Bastard-Sword wielding brother with a pair of one handed swords. Edgar is a Dex based duelist Ranger.

I have 2 characters in mind, 1 of which is ready to be tweaked, the other has the stuff but needs an alias. Both backgrounds will be tweaked, since they come from another game and one from concept.
Crunch coming tonight, stuff to do during the day....

1) Edward Irmington. A traveling male human bard, son to a minor noble from Magnimar. Bit of a sarcast, but in a good way. A character with high social skill.
Background

Spoiler:

Edward's parents were minor nobles in Magnimar. Rich kids were ignored by the "common" children. He went to the theater academy, as he had a certain inborn charm and wordplay he had picked up observing his parents. Little Edward developed a touch of sarcasm when something turned sour for those that picked on him.

After a scandal about his father having an affair with the maid ("You're really screwed now dad.") Edward decided his place wouldn't be in Magnimar anymore. He took what few things were truly his and left, set on discovering his purpose in life.

2) Mia Rumsfield. Halfling witch. (existing alias) A mischievous but good hearted type, taking advantage of her childlike features. Currently set as healing type.
Background

Spoiler:

Mia was the adopted daughter to a human apothecary, whom was in secret a hedge witch. Eventually Mia was to deliver a parcel, but her halfling luck ran out one day as curiosity got the better of her. A faint shimmering green light in an alley caught her attention. When she got near it she was enveloped and reappeared in an environment completely unknown to her. Wandering around, with her thrush familiar scouting from above, she ended up at "mister Oleg's tradepoint".

Slightly annonyed.

The PBP polite thing to have done would of been to give the GM a heads up about it before he found out last night.

@Ace Matthews and Chyrone

Only ONE entry please

I apologize. I should have done earlier!

indeed, i was actually wondering if you'd have a preference, since i'd be fine with either.

I'll go with Mia then.
