Male Human Paladin 1

So a 21 hits and a 12 doesn't? As a player, I have no way of knowing that. When it's a 15 that misses and a 16 that hits, I'll be guessing. Could you announce the damage at the end of your turn?

I'll then do so, in all NPC round actions here after.

Male Human Paladin 1

Righteous anger rising, the Knight of the Rose decides that he must now end this fight as swiftly and efficiently as he can. "Erastil and Restov!" he shouts as he sprints forward to a new firing position.

Move SEx2, Sx3; fire Masterwork Composite Longbow at the bandit at EE10.

Masterwork Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 (includes PBS)
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Male Human Paladin 1

Oops. I meant SWx2, not SE.

Male Human Wizard 2

Sorry? when did I get hit? If it's the one that hit 14, I announced before we went in the camp I was casting Mage Armor on myself, which would boost my Armor Class to 16. So a 14 wouldn't hit me.

Also could I request an updated map? It's hard to remember where everyone is right now.

Round 3

Male Human Cleric 1

Royston will step forward to catch everyone in his healing burst of positive channeled energy.

1d6 ⇒ 6

Male Human Wizard 2

Halloran will move forward, so that he is behind Eamon.

Male Human Paladin 1

I find myself confused again. We just went. Shouldn't the NPC's go?

2 people have not gone yet

Rory jogs forward to CC15, and drinks another extract from his belt. Targeted bomb admixture

Royston Hawkes' turn.

Male Human Cleric 1

The cleric moves forward to Y9.

Male Human Wizard 2

Could the DM please post an updated map? I'm having a hard time keeping track of everybody.

Round 4 Map

Bandit attacks
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Hidden -> Halloran
1d100 ⇒ 92 Ok
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Hidden -> Halloran

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Bandit 1 -> Eamon
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Bandit F -> Eamon

damage
1d8 ⇒ 7 Bandit 1
1d8 ⇒ 7 Bandit F

12 Damage to Eamon
You might want to do defensive fighting

Male Human Cleric 1

Royston reaches out to touch Eamon, healing him.

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 healing

Male Elf Ranger

Round 4:

Silstaren moves forward through the underbrush and into the clearing he starts south toward the mysterious woman while he draws again on the bandit he missed before.

Should be able to move into the clearing and down to DD10.

Longbow at bandit in V7. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 .. damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

If that was a cure light wounds, it's a static 10HP, I forgot to mention my house rules of cure and inflict spells as static numbers.

Rory moves out into the clearing under the tree stump AA12 and throws a bomb into the bandit sitting on a tree, where it makes a small but loud BOOM.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 - 2 = 22 vs. Touch AC
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 (no splash)

Male Human Wizard 2

Thank you.

Halloran will move to Z9 next to Royston and use Hand of the Apprentice, to hurl his staff at the female bandit.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

still no luck with the ladies I see, eh Halloran.

I think the procedure was to dine them first, before hurling one's staff at them. But I've been married for almost 5 years, times may have changed.

Male Human Paladin 1

Eamon lays in the dirt and bleeds until blessed by Royston. He gets shakily to his feet and retrieves his sword.

Another female bandit goes over a log and if joined by the first female bandit.
Most switch to melee tactics.

Bandit attacks
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 Hidden -> Halloran
1d100 ⇒ 30 fail
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 Tree -> Halloran

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Bandit 1 -> Eamon
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 Bandit F -> Eamon
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Bandit BF -> Eamon

damage
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Bandit F
1d6 ⇒ 6 Bandit F (Sneak)
1d8 ⇒ 6 Tree

Halloran takes 6 damage, and Eamon takes 9.

Eamon might want to do defensive fighting.

Round 5 map

Male Human Wizard 2

While Halloran suffers the arrows and slings of outrageous fortune (and stinging rejection) he'll use Hand of the Apprentice to hurl his staff at the first female bandit, again.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Looks like he finally made a connection, also shouldn't Halloran be on square Z9 on the map? That's where I said he was going to move between Royston and the campfire.

Male Elf Ranger

Seeing Eamon beset by so many foes, Silstaren drops his bow and charges forward drawing the long blade on his back as he runs.

If possible charge to AA7 and attack bandit Z7. Charging bonus already applied to attack. If not possible to charge, move to AA7 and attack.

Curve blade 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 .... damage 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

I'll make the correction on the next map.

Male Human Paladin 1

Eamon takes a dirt nap.

Stabilization roll: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

I can't believe I forgot to lay on hands.

Level 2 can't come soon enough. Also the ladies seem to appreciate persistence, Halloran. Maybe that Hand of yours will become more expert in time ;)
Seeing as tossing any more bombs into the fray is dangerous, Rory twirls his slingstaff and sends another bullet into the male bandit, then steps sideways to cover behind a log.
Attack at X9, Move to AA12
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17, -4 penalty for firing into melee
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Royston's turn

Male Human Cleric 1

Royston moves back to Z13, activating his Agile Feet ability as a swift action if any of that's difficult terrain. Then he channels healing energy, excluding the one bandit in the area of effect.

Healing done 1d6 ⇒ 4

AC 17 if the bandit in 9X gets an Attack of Opportunity

Round 6 Map

one of the female bandit's fall, and two bandits close on their prey.

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Bandit 1

damage
1d8 ⇒ 5 Bandit Tree
1d8 ⇒ 7 Bandit BF

Royston 12 Damage
Rory 4 Damage
Halloran 5 Damage
Silstaren 7 Damage

Male Human Wizard 2

Halloran will attack the bandit standing next to him with his quarterstaff.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

When did I become a melee fighter?

Male Elf Ranger

Good thing you planned your HP for melee.

Silstaren grunts in pain. He sweeps his blade wide and drives it toward his opponent's thigh.

Curve blade v. bandit BF 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 ... damge 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

she's KO'ed

Male Human Cleric 1

DM Azure_Zero:
I'm confused. You posted the Royston has taken 12 points of damage. The Attack of Opportunity hit AC 16 and Royston has AC 17. That seems to be 8 of the 12 points of damage. Is there some rule I'm unaware of that comes into effect here?

Also, you did one attack roll for an Alchemist's Fire and two people took full damage. The description says the square targeted takes full damage and all the surrounding squares take 1 point of damage. Where two Alchemist's Fire bottles thrown instead of one?

I'll hold off on posting an action until I know if I'm still standing or not.

D'oh, my mistake. I was trying to get it all quickly posted.

edit:
Royston takes 4 damage, not 12.

Male Human Cleric 1

Roytston realizes he'll heal all the bandits if he unleashes a wave of positive energy to help his allies, so he quickly draws his starknife and hurls it at the bandit in Y9.

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

If you guys back off a bit, I'll heal as soon as I can avoid helping the bad guys. I have four channels left and can exclude one bandit from the area of effect.

Rory shoots another bullet at the male bandit threatening Halloran, and sidesteps to BB12 meant to do it last turn, but mistyped
Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Male Human Paladin 1

Sir Eamon rises back to consciousness as a result of Royston's blessing, but just barely. It goes against every instinct he has, but the paladin knows that if he tries to stand, he will be cut down. So he stays down and concentrates on defense.

He can't do Total Defense, as that would drop him to -1 HP. It's just trying to avoid getting hit.

Round 7

The other female bandit falls

Bandit attacks
--------------------------
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11 Hidden -> Royston
1d8 ⇒ 6 Hidden -> Royston
--------------------------
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Bandit 1 -> Halloran
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Crit -> Halloran
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 Tree -> Rory

damage
1d8 + 2 + 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (4) + 2 = 9 Bandit 1
1d8 ⇒ 4 Bandit Tree

Rory 4 Damage
Halloran 9 Damage

Male Human Wizard 2

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Halloran, Royston and Rory all hit Bandit 1 for a total of 13 points of damage? If not, or if he has more than 13 hps, then Halloran is down and currently at -6 hps.

Stabilization Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Bandit 1 has 4 HP left, Out of all the bandits, I modded him a bit to take a beating, another was given a few "goodies," and if you find him, it'll be your "goodies."
The one in the trees is also really injured.

Male Human Wizard 2

Well, at least I'm stable. So if I'm reading it right, in addition to the two bandits who are on the map, there's a 3rd bandit we haven't spotted yet?

Male Elf Ranger

That's my take. There's still one "hidden" bandit.

Silstaren crosses to Halloran's foe and slashes st him from left to right.

Five foot step to Z8, attack Y 9.

Curve blade v. bandit in Z8 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 ... damge 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Status:
HP: 3/10

Male Human Cleric 1

The cleric moves to CC12 and channels a burst of healing energy, excluding the bandit in Y9 or whatever bandit is standing up or alive in the area. Royston activates his Agile Feet ability again to avoid difficult terrain.
