Silstaren leans back in his chair with his glass watching Halloran with amusement. Memory of the last bottle still fresh in his mind, he sips slowly and carefully, taking time to enjoy the warmth of the fluid on his tongue and the layers of flavor. The bright citrus accents of the wine put him in mind of the time he was lucky enough to be in Westcrown when the ship carrying oranges came into port. The fruit was pulped and turning black on one side, but the other half was still fresh and the sweetest thing he had ever tasted.
Elaine seems to enjoy the drink but seems to enjoy not being completely drunk and asking somewhat normally says "This doesn't seem like it will give you a hangover, I don't think Buckwell would have enjoyed being constantly hung over."
as day breaks the next morning,
not a cloud in the sky and the sun rises beautifully over the plains and the distant mountains.
Mikka rises in the morning, head slightly fuzzy and mouth dry, and begins his morning forms, his sword becoming one with the man wielding it. When the time comes, he saddles Brightest and makes ready for the journey.
Elaine asks "Where are we headed today?"
Asok has a slight ache in the front of his brain and he shields his face from the glorious morning sun. Squinting as he goes about saddling Brand, wearing his now cleaned and glinting chain shirt, he says "Hunting Mites, were we not?"
Halloran looking a little worse for wear, lays down Buckwell's crossbow and bolts with the rest of Buckwell's gear and picks up his compass. Now that I've had a chance to think about things, unhindered by alcohol, I'll take this instead.
Taking a drink of water, Halloran turns to the others and asks, Where do you want to go? Originally, before we were attacked by the spiders, we were looking for fangberries for Bokken's potions. If you like we could continue in that direction, or we could head to the North East and start exploring in earnest.
Elaine says "I know what we are doing but do we have a direction we are heading? I think Halloran said two days ago that we were going to go east and then southwest from the radish patch so a quicker way would be south from the moon radish patch. Although maybe we should check for tracks in the radish patch because they might have left some in the wet ground that may now be drying up."
"They might have come back to the radish patch again. We may as well start there, because trying to pick up any kind of trail by running across it is difficult. Let's bring food and gear for a week. Then we will be able to have a good look around."
Elaine says "I agree, bringing food is a good idea."
Halloran shrugs, Going back to the radish patch is as good as a destination as any, if we don't find a trail we can keep looking for fangberries. But I agree packing extra food is a good idea.
Speaking of things we should bring, seeing as how we're down a party member, maybe we should invite Alkaid to accompany us? Having a cleric around could be handy, what do the rest of you think?
Mikka shrugs. "Healing is a good thing. And since my good looks only make the ladies feel better..." He grins and smiles at Elaine.
"I would not scorn another pair of hands on the road. I am something of a healer, but I am sure I could learn much from Alkaid."
"Everyone learns something from anyone and everyone."
Elaine says "If not you are wasting an opportunity.Waste is not something you want to encourage in wild areas. Carrion beasts don't even let rotting flesh go to waste. "
"I know that nature never wastes a thing, even the waste."
So we're all agreed then? Halloran asks looking around the group, assuming no one objects, he turns to Alkaid and says, Lady Alkaid, if you're not otherwise occupied, would you consent to accompany us on our travels? You would share in all the dangers, but also in all the rewards.
"The sheep have been redeemed, So I'm not as occupied now."
Excellent work Lady Alkaid, well then we'll be leaving in the morning, do you have a horse? or do you require one?
"I will be honing my weapons and bettering the fit of my armor this evening. Does anyone wish me to tend their things as well?"
Elaine says "I think I was running low on food and supplies so I should buy some."
"The radish patch is as good a place as any to start. Seems we should explore the areas closest to Oleg's first." Asok says.
"Knowing more about the area near here sounds good, but knowing what happened to your Kobold friends is also good."
Well, perhaps we'll find out more tomorrow. Halloran says.
Turning to Oleg, he asks, Oleg can you sell us some supplies?
Oleg:
"Depends on what you need."
Food for 7 people in the field for a week, and perhaps a tent if you have one. Halloran says.
Turning to the others he asks, Can anyone think of anything else, we should get?
"I believe I have everything else I need." Asok says with a smile. "Once we have all the supplies, I say we get on the road as soon as possible." He helps divide up and load what supplies they purchase and then mounts Brand to head out.
Silstaren double checks his gear and how it's packed. A chance to be away in the wild for days. Oleg and Svetlana are nice, but I long to see the land.
When everyone's ready to go, he gently taps his heels into Duneah's flanks and the roan trots out the gate.
Oleg:
"I don't have that many rations,
I only have 20 days for one person currently."
Well, I suppose that will have to do, looking at Silstaren, Halloran says it looks like we'll be depending on your skills in the wild, my friend.

"I will endeavor to keep us fed, but seven are many mouths for one hunter to feed. It will slow us down." Inwardly Silstaren is pleased at the prospect. Hunting will give him the opportunity to know the land far more intimately than merely riding through would.
Turning back to Oleg, Halloran asks, How much?

"We'll take them all. You may deduct it to the money I left with you. How soon can you replenish your stock?"

"In less then a week I'll have some new stock in."
Glad to hear it, Halloran says to Oleg.
Well then, dividing up the rations, I'll take two because I'm still recovering from the spider's venom. That should give everybody else 3 rations, to add to their supplies.
Asok smiles at Silstaren. "I can give you a hand with the hunting, friend Elf." he says. "I'm sure I can't match your skill, but I've learned to get along in the wild in my younger days."
Elaine says "I have skill in hunting as well."
Well then, Halloran says, I guess we're ready to leave, off to the Moon Radish Patch.

Eliane will see if she knows what kind of animal knowledge nature Elaine slowly walks to the tracks and bends over a little but takes a long good look at the tracks.
