the storm has past.

Male Human Wizard 2

Halloran will stand up and step outside, to look at the sky. Once he determines the rain is over, he'll tap the dottle out of his pipe and say to the others, There's still plenty of daylight, if we wanted to head out today we could. We'd probably have to camp out overnight, but I think we're close enough that we could make some progress.

Human (Ulfen) Oracle 1 (Battle Mystery)

"I can saddle Módnir and be ready in half an hour. She is not accustomed to two riders, but if you of you require a mount, I think she'll allow it."

Human Fighter (Free Hand Fighter) 2

"I'm game for hitting the road!" Mikka rushes to the stable and quickly saddles Brightest.

Elaine says "I agree on traveling" and mounts puts a saddle on her horse and has her megaloceros animal companion follow.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1 (Thug)/Barbarian 1 (Urban Barbarian)

Picking himself up out of his chair, Asok takes a sip from his flask before speaking. "Yes! Let's see what this land has in store for us!" He joins the others in getting his horse, Brand, saddled and ready.

Male Human Wizard 2

As the others rush by him, Halloran will wryly say, I guess that means yes. to Silstaren. Then puts his pipe away and heads to the stables to saddle his horse as well.

I believe they're heading for the radish patch, where Halloran and Silstaren were attacked. At least that's where Halloran will direct them to go.

You can go to the patch,
But a Survival Check of DC 12 reveals the rain removed all the tracks.

Survival1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Male Human Wizard 2

What time is it daywise?

When you arrive at the patch it's about 13:30.

Elaine will look around at the patch to see if anyone is there. perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

no one is there.

Male Human Wizard 2

I'm going to proceed on the assumption that Elaine or someone else would have said there were no tracks to be found.

Well that's disheartening, still it doesn't have to be a total loss. Before you all arrived our old group met a hermit named Bokken, who lives near the trading post. He's a brewer of potions and he offered us a deal on any potion he could make, such as healing potions, if we brought him some fangberries from a thicket that's located in that direction.

At this point he will point roughly SW, As we haven't yet explored the land directly East of here, we can head out that way and follow the wood line down. We'll make better time and get to explore land we haven't covered yet, what do all of you think?

Male Half-Orc Rogue 1 (Thug)/Barbarian 1 (Urban Barbarian)

After even a short time in the saddle, Asok is still gratefull to be back on his feet. He joins Elaine in surveying the ground. "Is there anything special about this place?" he asks.

Male Human Wizard 2

As far as I know nothing but radishes.

Correction, Moon Radishes

Male Human Wizard 2

Tomatoe, Tomatoh.

Human Fighter (Free Hand Fighter) 2

"What's a moon radish?""

Will knowledge nature work to know what a moon radish is?
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Male Human Wizard 2

A type of radish that grows in the wild, Svetlana makes soup out of them, Oleg likes it. Halloran shrugs.

Aside from that I don't know much about them, the Sootscale tribe has claimed this patch as their own. he says gesturing at the patch in question.

So, he says turning back to the group, what do you think of my plan to go hunting for fangberries?

If you do go hunting for Fang Berries In which Direction do you go,
East, West, South East, South West?

Elaine as far as you know it's an edible plant.

Male Human Wizard 2

I recommend we start out going East, so we can cover that hex next to the radish patch, then work our way South West, exploring as we go.

I don't really know which advantages are to wihch but that sounds like a plan.

Human Fighter (Free Hand Fighter) 2

I'm game. Let's ride!

Male Elf Ranger

Lead on, Halloran! Figuratively of course. Silstaren would be happier riding point.

Male Human Wizard 2

If Silstaren wants to lead that's fine with Halloran.

Male Gnome Sorcerer (Draconic: Red Dragon)/1

Sorry all for the lack of posting this past week. Work suddenly went crazy when one of the consultants on a project I was working on gave his two weeks notice last Friday, then decided he wasn't going to come in at all last week. Fortunately they pulled someone off another project to give me hand before the go live date on the 15th.

Buckwell stares intently into the fire he just created as the others settle in for the cold, wet morning. He snaps himself out of his reverie as the weather breaks and follows the others outside. He saddles Jynx, his pony, and rides out with the rest, keeping to the rear of the little column.
As they reach the radish patch Buckwell says "Looks like your little friends have gone. Any idea where their lair would be?"
Saddling back up he seems game to follow wherever the others decide to go "One direction is as good as any other"

Exploring East will eat the rest of the day.

as you explore the hex you find an area littered with bones from animals and a few humans.

and the sun is setting.

Updated Greenbelt Map

HP 12/12, AC 17, CMD 15, Touch 12, Flat 15, F +1, R +2, W +2, INIT +2, Perc +4

Seeing the bones, Höd unlimbers his shield and takes the reins in one hand.

"hva har vi her?"

Skald:

What have we here?

Elaine will use her spirit sense on the bones to makes sure the bones are not an undead creature.

they are just bones, not undead.

Elaine says "Just bones, nothing more."

Male Elf Ranger

Silstaren slips off Duneah's back to examine the bones. He kneels beside them and looks at them closely.

Hodge podge of rolls that might apply to looking for clues as to what they all were and what's been killing them:

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Heal 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Survival 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Know(Nature) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Male Human Wizard 2

Halloran will cast mage armor on himself.

Something hungry, he says to Hod.

In case this wasn't clear, when Hod speaks in Skald, Halloran answers him in common. Yes, Halloran understands Skald.

Vital Stats:
HP 12/12, AC 17, CMD 15, Touch 12, Flat 15, F +1, R +2, W +2, INIT +2, Perc +4
Human (Ulfen) Oracle 1 (Battle Mystery)

"Something this hungry should be put down I think. We wouldn't want it hurting potential settlers."

Silstaren:
As you look at the bones, most are perfectly intact, though a few show signs of something having pieced the body.

I'll try to get a map up.

Male Elf Ranger

"Hmmm," Silstaren intones while looking at the bones. "Nothing has tried to eat these. There's some nicks and chips here -- and here. It appears something slender and sharp passed between these ribs. Perhaps arrows?"

What about weathering? Are these old or fresh?

Silstaren:
most are old, but their are a few fresh ones that look about a week or two old.

Höd doesn't know much outside of the forge... :(

did I specify knowledge checks, nope, certain other checks can get you a piece.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Knowlege: Local 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Asok pulls Brand up and eyes the ground carefully while trying to remember if he has heard about anything like this recently. "I don't like the looks of this." he mutters while stroking Brand's mane.

Male Elf Ranger

Silstaren looks around the area, searching for footprints, detritus, or any other clues.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Heal 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Spellcraft 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
+2 if any of these relate to brigands or bandits.

Silstaren, no re-tries at the moment.

Hod:
Looks like a natural form of attack.
and you spot some really fine webbing on the ground

GM:
a: 1d20 ⇒ 20
h+s: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Elaine will use perception to look for tracks 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Survival is generally used for tracks,
but perception is a logical alternative, though with a minor penalty.

The rain removed all tracks.

Elaine:
you do notice fine spider threads on the ground.
