the grandfather clock goes berserk,
tolling and clanging dissonantly, assaulting
the sanity of listeners. Anyone hearing the
clock is violated by images of strangulation,
death, murder by axe, and other gruesome flashes,

Durida Valhig
Aciera Longress
Kirallah the Wanderer

take 1d4 ⇒ 4 Wis Damage

Female Dhampir Winter Witch-1

Holding her hands to her head, and screams "Some one stop that ringing!"

Female Elf Monk of the Four Winds 1

Kirallah staggers, her mind reeling. The dischordant chiming jarring her mind, assaulting her with an overwhelming deluge of violence and chaos. She feels he sense of calm slipping as she tries desperately to regain the centered core she has trained so hard to obtain.

Female Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) 1

Maena winces as the clock begins its cacophanous assault on her ears and mind with the images of murder. She grits her teeth and calls upon her training to push the images away, and sees her companions failing to do the same.

She steps forward with her heavy mace in hand, but stops at the last moment, wondering what evils abound, "Does anyone have a reason I shouldn't smash the clock into bits? Would it release the evils within?"

The clock goes silent.

Kiley's hands clutch at her ears trying to keep out the horrific sound. She slides down the wall as her mind is assaulted by images of murder, blood, and death. Her body curls up into a ball, all the earlier confidence from the courtroom gone. Tears stream down her cheeks as she whimpers in fear and pain.

Then it stops.

Even through the images no longer come, her mind is still swirling with the macabre scenes that had been thrust into her head. In the quiet, even Kiley's tiny voice sounds loud.

"...make it stop. Make the images stop. Please! I don't wanna see them die again! Make it stop..."

male dwarf wizard/1

Now that was disturbing seeing the small cleric on the floor walks over to her putting a kind hand on her shoulder There there it will be all right it was simply a trick, the images can not hurt you simply clear your mind young one[/b] looking around at the jury I have had enough what has transpired here no lies, or so help me you will regret it, several people have already been affected, no one else will be for your lies

Female Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) 1

Maena stands back as the dwarf turns on the jury members, observing. He lets his passions control him... that is interesting. And the cleric shows sign of a heritage like mine... Would I have been such a weak, pathetic thing if the sisters had not taken me in?

"S-sorry, I... It felt real."
Kiley's shaken, but she manages to pull herself together. She shakes her head trying to clear the images, but they still persist, even if less vividly.

She stands up and looks at the others, seeing three of them are more shaken than she is.

I am a fool

Female Dhampir Winter Witch-1

She shakes away the images, seeing much worse in her frozen lands where she lived. She whispers, "Don't be sorry, but stay strong I don't trust these jurors. Let us try to keep our wits about us." She is trying to put a brave front for her new friend.

Bluff:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Female Elf Monk of the Four Winds 1

Kirallah stepped forward shaking the darkness off as she tried to clear her head. She could feel the lingering effect on her mind and it made her angry.

"One or more of you is lying. Through ypur actions we are all being judged. Step forward and be held accountable rather than allow innocent's to suffer for your silence."

Her voice is eerily calm, yet intense, as she looks each juror in the eye.

Sense motive1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Diplomacy check please.

Female Elf Monk of the Four Winds 1

Diplomacy1d20 ⇒ 20 The sense motive is to see who flinches, looks away or otherwise acts guilty in reaction to her acusation

Halgrak
"Ok, I sent a man to his death because Malgrim was pressing me and I borrowed some money."

Another 5 would get some more info.

Ebin
"I just hated the guy."

Madge
"Mord Killed my father, so gave him his due."

Some jury members need a few event to happen before they reveal stuff through a diplomacy check,
and you can roll int or know local checks again for info on Malgrim.

Status:

Kiley's eyes become hard when she hears Halgrak and Ebin's reasons for condemning the man to die. Her expression is cold as she faces the two.

"Are hatred and greed valid reasons to condemning a man to die? You send a man to die to satisfy your own hate, or your own greed and call that justice?"

Kiley's anger burns away the remains of the mental attack. Her soft voice carries a hard edge.

Roll Diplomacy and get above 20 and I'll let Halgrak spill the reasons why he needed the money and what Malgrim took from him.

Female Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) 1

Maena nods in agreement with Kiley, Perhaps there is some steel in her after all... I was beginning to think that she'd wilt away.

She steps towards the jurists, turning her stern gaze toward them, her tone cold, "Perhaps it best you tell us the whole of your story, so we do not think you simply perverted the very idea of justice for your own gain?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Halgrak
"The money was to feed my family and I did not cave in even after losing 5 toes to Malgrim.
It was when Malgrim threatened my family that I caved in."

Female Elf Monk of the Four Winds 1

Kirallah turned to the woman who had spoken.

"Who told you that Mord killed your father?"

Female Dhampir Winter Witch-1

Now that the wailing of the clock has stopped the young dhampir focuses on the the other's conversation and hearing all this bad stuff about Malgrim she watches him with a spell ready on her lips.

Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Sense Motive:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Female Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) 1

Maena turns her gaze to Malgrim, her expression growing more cold as she does, "And what have you to say for yourself, Hobgoblin? Does Justice means nothing to you, that you would mutilate and threaten to get your way?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Malgrim
he grins with his cigar smoking in his mouth
"Looks like you don't know Who I am."

Killian
in his british accent
"Since you chaps are not from here, I will tell you what I know of Malgrim,
He is the most wanted and powerful crook in the area, has a infamous reputation as a bloodthirsty killer who runs a gang called the Grindle Street Shades.
He is a fearsome cutthroat with a reputation for garroting with his spiked chain any who cross him."

Malgrim
giving a slightly pi*sed off look at Killian
"Thanks for telling them Mr F***en Pee-body."
with a toothy grin speaks
But now you know, Cross me and your going to regret it, as I am the biggest bad-a** their is."

Sir Rekkart
"I would arrest you right now,
If I only had proof malgrim."

Malgrim
with a devilish grin and cigar in hand
"That's what I like about you, Paly Boy.
You can't touch me, until you have proof beyond f***en witnesses and is undeniably connected to me."

Madge
"Mord killed my father because he was this place's executioner.
And when my father was sentenced here, Mord hanged him"

"So the cries of those you've hurt are not proof? I was willing to give you a chance to prove yourself to be better than what I've heard of your kind. I still am, and I pray that the Dawnflower will light your path to redemption, but you, and only you, can walk it. What I've heard, and what I can only guess at, show me that you have a great many dark deeds to your name."

Kiley's eyes bore into the hobgoblin. Her voice is still soft as she speaks, but after a brief pause to let her words sink in, her words take on a steely edge.

"So Malgrim, do you chose redemption? Or do you chose to be cut down for your deeds?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 (add another +1 if Malgrim could be sexually attracted to Kiley, not that Kiley would ever return that.)
...You have got to be bloody kidding me.

Kiley turns to the halfling now. A puzzled look crosses her face, then one of anger.
"I guess that explains two of our dreams."

Female Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) 1

Maena smiles at Malgrim's taunting of the Paladin and fixes her gaze on the beast again, "Some of us are a little more pragmatic about our search for Justic than your Paladin friend."

Female Dhampir Winter Witch-1

"Sounds like a typical court to me, especially when the self rightous servants of gods are involved." She comments to no one in paticular.

Malgrim
"Me, it was nothing personal. It was a job and that's all I'll say."
after a quick drag on his cigar
"Nobody touches me or will act as a witness against me, cause if they do.
A reaper will pay them a visit."

Female Human Slayer 1 HP: 10/10, NL: 0 | AC: 17/13/14, CMD: 17, Resistances: Cold 5, Electricity 5, Fire 5 | F +2, R +5, W -1 | Per:+3 (Darkvision 60 ft.), Init: +3 | Detect Thoughts: 1/1, Arrows: 40

"And what happens when a ghost comes for vengeance? What will clever Malgrim do then?"Her voice drips in sarcasm as she addresses Malgrim. Pieces of the puzzle are starting to fit together in Kiley's mind."I see four who used this trial to further their own ends. So what of you two?"

Kiley's mind quickly puts pieces in place as she turns to the two older men, Killian and Sir Rekkart.

"Six are here that never served that jury. The other six are ones that condemned a man tens years ago. Four have shown selfish motives to be the reason for their decision. So what reason do you have to be here? Are you two of the same cloth as them? Or are you two of a different sort?"

Female Elf Monk of the Four Winds 1

"And you?" Kirallah levels her gaze at the other woman in the room.

Female Tiefling Cleric (Fiendish Vessel) 1

Just so you know, it was almost all I had to not make a Blue Oyster Cult joke here...

Maena smiles cooly at Malgrim, "You might find that some of us are far less moved by your petty threats, Hobgoblin."

She keeps her gaze locked on Malgrim as Kiley questions the others, Does that mean we replaced those who voted justly? Have they already been killed? I know nothing of this man or this place, so I cannot fathom why I would be here for it to take its vengeance..

Sir Rekkart
"I recall most of the trial in perfect clarity, though some parts are a blur.
And anyways I am was certain he was guilty."

Any Know(arcana) or Spellcraft checks.

Malgrim
with a toothy grin as he rhymes the first sentence.
"People in the know, when they hear Malgrim say "Oh No."
I take it then that you don't know s***, cause if you did you did.
You'd f***en wet yourself in my presence."

Kirallah the Wanderer wrote:
"And you?" Kirallah levels her gaze at the other woman in the room.

Name of the character please?

Female Dhampir Winter Witch-1

"So what would happen if one of your peers killed you here, would your reaper still know who to attack? I think not, by the way the townspeople have barricaded this place up it seems it's cursed. So as I say again my little goblin...

For those who speak goblin:
"How would your reaper know who or what killed you?"

Spellcraft:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Knowledge(Arcana):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Malgrim
with a humorous smile he replies
"I am the reaper and their no one here would fight me because I would make them a f***en example, and even if I did die, my underlings would finish anyone who comes out of here without me."

Aciera Longress :
You know enchantment magic was used on the paladin.
The spells were likely charm person, and or suggestion.

I've heard of his type. He's a boss for a gang of thieves and killers. I just hope that I am not making a mistake.

Kiley shifts her grip on the longspear, her hands are placed so she can bring it to bear if trouble erupts.

Patrissa
playing with her necklace as she speaks
"I thought he was guilty, given the evidence and some of the other jury members opinions when we deliberated."
