if that drops him Hezar will move to the prisoner as far as he can

Male Elf Ranger(Demon Slayer)3/Inquisitor(Cold Iron Warden)3

Ariael strides up to the bounty hunter near him and calls upon his inner mystickal energies, imbuing his blade to be deadlier, then lashes out his foe. Using an Arcana point to give my blade a +1, 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 for1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Okay, group A's actions:

Janiries moves 20' (using acrobatics) but the bounty hunter gets a defensive swing (AoO) at her:

Attack roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage roll: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

His wild swing finds an unarmored spot on Janiries arm, drawing blood!

Janiries' riposte is devastating:

Attack Roll + Flanking: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage Roll + Sneak Attack (due to flanking): 1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (6) = 13

Her rapier passes through the bounty hunters' throat and out the other side; the light in his eyes immediately goes out, and he drops to the ground, unmoving, when she withdraws her blade!

Anders bravado is short lived as Hezar takes a 5 foot step (to K4) and lets fly another arrow:

1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 = 24 for 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6

The arrow finds it's mark, directly in the centre of Anders' chest. He drops to his knees, then keels forward, motionless.

Using a swift action, Ariael imbues his blade with magical energy. He then advances 10' (to K11) and attacks bounty hunter 1.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Using a short, precise cut, Ariael drops the bounty hunter to the ground quickly, but not cleanly - a pool of blood begins to form beneath her.

You guys are killing machines!

@ Ariael - you have your rapier listed as doing 1d8 damage on your sheet, and you rolled 1d8 here. I've reimagined your weapon as a longsword for the time being; you can correct your damage dice or change your weaponry on your sheet, your choice.

In less than half a minute, it's all over - all four bounty hunters lay in broken heaps on the ground, their horses fleeing in all directions.

The prisoner is bleeding profusely from a wound in his chest; the blood is foaming, not a good sign!

Also, total xp for this encounter is 670, so 96 xp for each of you!

Striding over to the prisoner and casting Cure Light Wounds1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Landon's spell stabilizes the prisoner and seals the wound on his chest; he is still unconscious, however. Your quick action saved his life.

A small, jet black panther leaps over the ridgeline to the south and slowly approaches the unconscious prisoner. It hisses defensively at Landon, who is closest, but takes no aggressive action. Upon reaching the prisoner, it begins to headbutt him and lick his face in a very affectionate manner.

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

Unleashing a string of rather nasty Elven curses as she's hit and bleeding, Janiries would look over the bounty hunters, seeing if they have any gear worth looting, and to check if any of them are still alive.

Perception Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

"I hope we had a damn good reason for ending the lives of these people.."

@ Janiries:
Checking the bodies, you find the following:

-28 gold coins (mostly Zazesspurian Gulders, with a couple of Amnian danters as well)
-39 silver coins
-12 copper coins (including one sembian steelpence coin, quite unusual but not worth more than a copper)
-a small bag with five little gemstones (looks like frost agates) - worth about 50 gp
- 4 suits of leather armor
- 4 longswords, 3 daggers, 2 hand crossbows, 2 composite longbows (one keyed to +1 strength, the other to +2), 37 arrows and 12 bolts
- 2 whips made of braided leather, and a vicious looking five-tailed scourge, with an elaborate wooden handle and an unusual marking on it - what looks like a white wand (religion DC 15 check to identify)

Also, Duvall walks up to you (looking stiff and robotic) and casts cure light wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 to heal you.

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

Thanks, Healbot 9000!

Gathering the loot together, Janiries would take out her journal and list what was claimed, just to make sure the party had a proper record.

"Anyone know what this might be?" Holding up the five-tailed scourge with the unusual markings, showing it to the group.

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

"Hezar, do you think you might be able to round up their horses? Might be something worth having in their saddlebags, and we could always sell their horses later."

"Duvall has already seen to it." Flexing her arm a bit to show that it's fine now.

Female Ifrit Scorcerer 1

Elur sits up looking around. Well, what kind of fight was that? That was . . . Elur shakes her head. Yes, I'm okay. What about him, she motions to the prisoner.

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

"A very swift one.. and possibly an avoidable one too." Janiries would look over to Landon a moment as she lays out the loot infront of her.

Belgrin wipes his weapons clean and sheathes them.

You may not be as zealous as I but I doubt you condone such actions?"

Hezar tosses down his Longbow and picks up the +1 STR Composite Longbow.

I can make good use of this. We can sell my old one.

If I was able to round up the horses we should pull in a pretty good haul. How did people want to do loot?

EDIT probably should discuss loot in the discussion section

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

"I've no problem with stopping slavers, don't you worry about that."

As Hezar takes the better longbow, Janiries would mark down in her journal that he took it.

Hezar also reaches down and grabs two arrows to replace those he has left in Anders.

Hezar is able to round up two of the horses; recovered equipment is 2 50' lengths of rope, a total of 5 day's trail rations (mostly jerked beef and dried fruit), a flint and tinder box.

Hezar establishes a friendly rapport with the panther, which seems like a very friendly creature, but concerned for his human. The prisoner is stable but remains unconscious at present - he could probably do with a bit more healing to bring him to wakefulness.

Can either of our representatives of Helm offer this man more healing?

If the answer is no:
Hezar pulls out his potion of Cure Light Wounds and administers it to the former prisoner. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Elf Ranger(Demon Slayer)3/Inquisitor(Cold Iron Warden)3

Hezar, why don't you take the +2 composite and I'll take the +1, as I am unlikely to raise my str any time soon.

Ariael cleans his blade off, then opens his senses to the arcane, checking over everything, just in case Detect Magic

At GM, yea, sorry about that. Originally went with a longsword to keep with the elven theme, then remembered I can't finesse it, so switched to rapier, forgot to change the damage on my CS.

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

Nodding to Belgrin, Janiries would assist the dwarf in moving the bodies off the road, laying them down respectfully on the ground.

"May you find whatever peace awaits you in the afterlife."

She'd then return to the loot and claim a longsword and the two hand crossbows, along with the bolts.

Responding wordlessly to Hezar's request, Duvall marches forward stiffly and channels positive energy to help the injured man:

Channel energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5

The former prisoner sits up with a gasp. He looks around for a moment, clearly dazed. His panther headbutts him and rubs up against him; he smiles and strokes his friends' sleek black fur. Thank Silvanus you're okay, Tethys!

Looking at your party, he gives a pained smile and lifts his still bound hands Does anyone want to cut me loose?

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

Advancing on the captive with a dagger drawn, the Sun Elf would efficiently cut his bonds, freeing the man.

"Four men died so you might live, so I do hope you're worth it."

Offering him a hand, she'd help the man up to his feet.

"Janiries."

The man smiles as he accepts help up. I am sorry if any of you were harmed in my rescue, but the loss of those four is nothing I will lose sleep over. I am Marius, druid of Silvanus. He gestures to the dead bounty hunters lying on the side of the road. These four claimed they were seeking a Malarite marauder; they were willing to settle for me, apparently hoping that the men of justice in Marakir couldn't tell a druid from a raving, blood-mad murderer. He smiles ruefully I don't truly know my worth, Janiries, though I rather suspect these four hoped it would be around 500 gold.

@ Ariael - nothing shows up as magic with the casting of your spell.

The man smiles. Hello Hezar. My friend here is Tethys; we have been friends since he was a little kitten. Now, he is my constant companion, brought to me by Silvanus. He must have been following these four since I was taken, hoping for some opening to free me. He strokes the panther behind the ears, eliciting a deep, resonant purr.

My home is near Mosstone - I am a supplicant to the archdruid there. He sent me south, via Hawking's pass through the Starspires, to investigate a situation south of the mountains. One of our circles had been desecrated, and I was to find out why. I've yet to find out; I was attacked in the foothills by these mercenaries, who accused me of being a Malarite - which is ironic, as the archdruid felt that Malarites were responsible for the desecration of our site.

Marius laughs a little at Duvall's comments about Mosstone. Forgive me, my friend, though I think you have Mosstone and Port Kir mistaken for one another. Mosstone is nestled well within the forest of Tethir, and one does not cut wood there without caution.

He looks over at the bodies. I believe these people - bounty hunters, not slavers, I think - were taking me to Marakir. They seemed to truly have a warrant to capture a Malarite. I think, ironic as it may be, that the man they truly sought was also sought by me, as the one who desecrated our standing stones. But they were corrupt, and wanted an easy bounty. And look at the price they paid...

About a week ago, I was sent to investigate. Marius replies to Hezar as Tethys sniffs your hand, then begins to rub against your legs.

Female Sun Elf Rogue 4

Did the bounty hunters have an actual bounty notice on them?

"Now that we've freed you, what will you do now Marius?"

Janiries would address the druid while performing some basic maintenance on her weapons, particularly the 'liberated' ones.

"We have our own mission to conclude, but should our paths converge, I see no reason not to welcome your company on our journey."

M Human Cleric/2 Initiative +1; AC 22; HP 17

Duvall blushes slightly and chuckles. "My mistake - I'm still new to the south and learning my way around. But Janiries has a good point > are you going our way?"

While Hezar and the other entertain Marius, Duvall walks over to Landon and whispers to him privately.

Landon:

Ariael looks the man over, and nods his agreement "Welcome"

I do owe you a debt for rescuing me, though I must admit that facing the undead scares me; I am more used to combating poachers and arrogant woodcutters. But perhaps cleaning the foulness from Tilver's Folly will help make up for my failure to apprehend the beast that sullied one of my holy sites.

Looking at himself, Marius adds: Perhaps someone has some spare clothes I can borrow? I seem to have lost my shirt.... Marius is a well-built young human man of average height, with dark, curly hair cut short and about a weeks growth of beard. If we leave now, we should be able to get in another three hours of travel before dusk.
