Note: I'm going to be away for the Canada Day long weekend and then some. I might be online early tommorrow morning, but after that, I'll be effectively unavailable until Wednesday. It's possible that I'll be near some internet/wifi at times, allowing me to lurk a bit, but I can't guarantee to be able to post. Feel free to bot me where necessary.
Wow, I think we have three Canadians in this game - including me! Happy Canada day to those for whom it matters - and yes, with the long weekend, things might slow down here a touch. I might hold off on the meeting with the church until wednesday, then - I want everyone to feel equally blamed for their failings, real and imagined!
Hopefully, we can get a couple of good days in before our American friends have to break for the 4th of July. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to their debriefing/scolding/kangaroo court at the church of Helm!

You go rent it right now!!! A great movie.
A wonderful lighthearted part of teh film. The three American POW's have spent weeks buying up all the camps potatos to make moonshine. Then come the 4th they make a big to do about it and only give the british POW's some if they say "Up the rebels! Down with the British!"
Is anyone here interested in a key for a copy of Borderlands 2 on Steam? It's just the base game, no DLC, but it's still great fun and, best of all, it's free! My gift to you! I guess first to PM me gets it - I don't know any fairer way than that.
EDIT: Also, if anyone desires it, I can gift you a copy of Half Life 2 - yes, the classic from many years ago, still a fun game today! Second person to PM me can have it, unless they wanted HL2 instead of BL2.
Apologies for my absenteeism this weekend, friends - Kat's* mom was in a bit of an accident, so we've been at the hospital, taking her home, ministering to her every need, etc. I should be back at it tomorrow, or tuesday at the latest. Apologies again, hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Yikes. Everybody getting hurt on the fourth. Have a 7 yr old nephew who reportedly was not adept at standing on tables and broke the CRAP out of his right wrist. Two doctors, big ol' hardcast and everything. What is it about holidays and people getting injured?

This is my take on the party as leader. I do think we should select a Baron, otherwise we wind up spinning our wheels
Amestri-has the CHA to rule, but faces the issue of being a Calimshite
Jan-could rule, but I do not think she is the type to inspire people to follow her.
Matthias-Being a Helmite helps, and he seems calm and collected.
Landon-A paladin is a good thing, though perhaps he could be too rigid for a new barony
Hezar-he is not a leader.
Belgrin-not the most charismatic, but has the know how i think to possible lead
Soren-Strikes me as a bit of a loner

While it might be best to have a Baron/Baroness to deal with both the peasants and the gentry, for metagame purposes it's probably best to have some sort of council, or at least clear areas of responsibility. What do you guys think?
That does make the most sense. A figurehead to rule, and a small council to make decisions. I'd suggest that a native Tethyrian take the figurehead role, by the way.
Going by the rules in Ultimate Campaign, Hezar could take up a role of Marshal. They enforce the laws out in the remoter parts of the kingdom, secure the kingdom's borders and organise patrols.
