I was hoping we're all okay with the slower pace here in the village. It's very easy to pick up the speed again, once we've all had our fun with the social element.
I still remember how I picked up my first TP book :) And I ended getting not just myself hooked, but both my mother and my sister too. I would search the bookshelves anytime I went to a book store to see if there was a new book out :)
I'm still a huge fan. I have all of them that are out ^^ And Numair's book, Exile, is finally coming out! I've waited years for that book. Years! It makes me so excited!
I'm around. Just having a bit of difficulty figuring what to post if anything with all that's going on, plus I feel like I hogged the scene before so I thought I'd take a break from that. Anything I'd do at this point might feel like filler even if I do some mountain prep stuff.
Thread-magic! ^^ Which makes me think of my sister and I talking about Briar and his tattoos the past few days. (Which leads to this pic of him.)
As a clerification question, the ramp ascends from in front of me to a height of 15 ft? (Meaning that's how high the hut is off the ground?) Or does it start 15 ft up in the air?
Oh yes, almost forgot. My random animal fact :) Though this time, it's facts:
Most Chimpanzees that we see on TV and such are actually Juveniles to Young Adults. Their actual size is closer to 5' 6" for males and slightly smaller for females.
Their muscles, while smaller in size than a humans, have a higher density. It is so much higher that a chimp cannot swim, only sink.
Male Human Immolator 1 | XP: 6 | HP: 4/16 | Armor: 0 | Str: -1 Dex: +0 Con: +0 Int: +2 Wis: +1 Cha: +1 | Damage: D8 -- (-1 to all non-basic moves)
Yeah, you still get xp for them. But it's important to point out that a roll NEVER results in NOTHING, even a discern realities or spout lore. The mechanics of this game are set up to constantly be driving forward.
So failing on a Spout Lore or Discern Realities means that while you're struggling to discover or remember something, something bad happens in the mean time. Or perhaps you do discover/remember something but it's something you really wish you didn't notice/recall. So you deserve XP for those failed rolls, because the world just got nastier as a result... which is what makes this game so great!
When you dedicate yourself to a mission through prayer and ritual cleansing, state what you set out to do:
Slay _______, a great blight on the land
Defend _______ from the iniquities that beset them
Discover the truth of _______
Then choose up to two boons:
An unwavering sense of direction to _______.
Invulnerability to _______ (e.g., edged weapons, fire, enchantment, etc.)
A mark of divine authority
Senses that pierce lies
A voice that transcends language
A freedom from hunger, thirst, and sleep
The GM will then tell you what vow or vows is required of you to maintain your blessing:
Honor (forbidden: cowardly tactics and tricks)
Temperance (forbidden: gluttony in food, drink, and pleasure of the flesh)
Piety (required: observance of daily holy services)
Valor (forbidden: suffering an evil creature to live)
Truth (forbidden: lies)
Hospitality (required: comfort to those in need, no matter who they are)
But the Quest is something you should take time to do - and in the gameplay thread Bolus hasn't done any such thing, he's been interacting with the party. I'll even accept something as simple as praying while on the go, but I do need some flavor out of you for it! This is Dungeon World after all. :)
When you make your prayer in-character, your faith and resolve will respond accordingly and your vow will be made known to you.
Yeah...I'm actually not certain how to tackle the idea of having an unwavering sense of direction toward "Your people." Could you be more specific in what you mean exactly?
Human -2/12; WS 35;BS 27;S 34;T 32; Agi 31; Int 27; Per 26;WP 32; Fel 53; Fate 0/2; Insanity 20
Well Bolus assumes the members of his unit and the scientists he was with in the future came through time with him when the beacon they were at pulsed. Finding them and saving them would be his highest priority. That's why his quest is to find and save them and that's why one of the boons he would seek would be to know where they are. I figure they would be in the same place the bug men force is and he could help the group find them both.
Ah! I wasn't sure whether you meant those who came through with you or those in your own time. That makes perfect sense. Pray for it and you will be guided.
So, I've been trying to play catch-up today. I'm not 100% yet, but I'm well enough to start trying to do things again. Is Sinathel off in the Jungle with her companions?
I'm looking forward to next level and I am having a really hard time understanding multiclassing. How does it work? I'm concidering it for Olivius, but don't know if it's thematic or not.
I'm going to go with Sinathel is also in the cave for now. It fits that she would follow after all of you.
And in the dark, with someone missing seems to call for an animal form. Sinathel has the very strong urge to become a Tiger and hunt Temellen down... though she's weighing wolf currently too.
Multiclassing works by taking the advanced move "Multiclass Dabbler or Initiate" and then selecting a move from one of the other class' class lists. Usually, you then gain access to that move as if you were a level lower than your current level, but not always. Note that you can take other classes' Starting Moves instead of one of their advanced moves if you wish.
And yes, Sinathel, my DMPC'd Sinathel warned them away from the mountain and to watch for a chance to help safely. Failing that, if they never saw again, she warned them to get as far away from the eruption as possible.
Don't forget, we do have 3 Gaia Hold if it comes down to us needing it!
Quote:
Spend 1 Hold for: Intervention of Gaia Gaia is watching over you. When you spend this hold as part of a personal plea to the Great Earth Spirit, She will intervene for you in the story in some meaningful way
