Vessani |
'It's time for a talk with the vurk,' Vessani thought as he excused himself to follow Jace.
Knocking on Jace's doorway, Vessani said, "Listen, Jace, you really need to calm down and loosen up. You say you're a Jedi, then you're a Jedi. I've met a lot of them in the war, and from what I've seen, being a Jedi is more a state of mind than anything else. But sniping at your comrades every time they say something you disagree with is a really quick way to see you left alone, and a lone Jedi, especially one who hasn't risen to master yet, isn't gonna last long in this new empire. I'm not saying you have to agree with everything we say, gods know I won't do that, but try to calmly discuss it with them, not state your opinion as though it was a universal truth coming from some god to us mortals. I lost this arm trying to save my Jedi commander from those Sithspawn clones, so I'm not gonna try to turn you in or anything, and I doubt the others will either, so you don't need to be so closed off to every one."
Just want you to know, out of character, that I'm really not trying to start something with you as a player. It's really not personal against you.

Vessani |
I'm not saying you lost less than I or others, I'm saying that you weren't the only ones to lose something," Vessani said calmly. "I understand that you are trying to protect us, but it would help us understand if you try to explain things to us. And if you didn't believe that the dark side is the most evil thing this side of creation."

"Ex soldier, I've been a lot of things... Fialla. Best not to dwell in the past, what's done is done. Now I am a Pilot and that is where my focus is.
I agree with Daaneth, we should see what's next. Although we were sort of in the middle of a run that we should get back to first before we pick up anything else".
GM Phntm888 |
Fialla watches Vessani and Jace go, muttering something under her breath.
"If he really is a Jedi, they're more bad tempered than I thought"
Turning to the rest of you, she says, "Don't worry about the yacht. I've got some contacts who will take it, clean it, and sell it. Once it's taken care of, I'll get you a cut of the profits." Leaning back, she says, "At one point, while I was in the force cage, I heard Likar talking. Remember when our friend said 'Judgement is Coming'? Well, it turns out he wasn't just shouting his revenge. Judgement is apparently some sort of organization. I don't know much about it, and I've never heard of it before, but Likar and this other guy are apparently members. If they have enough clout to get the group to come after us, we might have some issues ahead of us. So, what I need you guys to do is, while your traveling, look for any information you can about an organization called Judgement. If we can find something out about them, we can get ahead of them and hopefully keep them from attacking us."

Daaneth laughs as he picks up Fialla's muttering. "I'm glad you see my point."
"Alright, so I'll let you handle the yacht, while we look for some Judgement information. We also need to go back and get Jeren's cut of our last job, like Jarl said." He ticks things off on his fingers while he tries to figure out if he might have already heard of Judgement.

Vessani |
Giving a weary sigh, Vessani straightened up and gave a final look to Jace. "The reason not many of them trust you is because you don't care and haven't given them a reason to," he said. "You keep to yourself almost all the time, then when you do join the rest, you usually make nothing but demands. That might have flown with the Inner Core region when the Jedi were at the height of their power, but not out here, not any more. I think it's time to lose the whole 'I have no emotions' Jedi mentality and start realizing that you are one of us lowly mortals." With his speech given, Vessani headed back to the lounge, hoping that Jace would at least think upon his words.
Making it back to the others, Vessani asked, "So, what's the plan, cap?"
Jeren Vallin |
"Ah, right," Jeren says in an off-handed manner, "the payment from our last job. I had almost forgotten about it in all the... excitement."
"Judgement. Such an ominous name," he remarks. "I do not believe I have heard of such an organisation, so perhaps a new or small one? Or a very successful one if their goal is secrecy rather than fame?"

You seem to recall, from your service in the Clone Wars, that somewhere in the Abarto Sector there was a political group on a Separtist world that called itself Judgement. Unfortunately, the politics of the Separatist movement were never particularly relevant to your mission, so you don't know more.
Fialla nods, and says, "Alright, then, we have a plan. Once you finish that up, give me a call. I should have a job lined up. Since you chose to save me from Likar instead of claiming the ship as yours, I get the feeling I can trust you with more important things than fancy wood. This next job might even be challenging for you."
Daaneth Qilat |
"Alright, Not2Bee, can you plot us a course back to Vin Dai Soo's Luxury Outfitters? We can grab our payment, and if we're lucky maybe upgrade the ship while we wait to hear from the boss on the next job."
Daaneth smiles back at Fialla. "Looking forward to what you throw at us. Make sure it's something fun. Maybe with less kidnapping."

"There was a Separatist group in the Abarto Sector that called itself Judgment during the Clone Wars. I don't remember much more about them unfortunately".
As the group heads to the ship Jarl pulls Not2bee aside, "Hey Not2bee tell me, have you ever thought about being your own Droid? I was thinking on the trip here that maybe the time has come for you to not be anyone's property..."
NT-2B |
"Alright, Not2Bee, can you plot us a course back to Vin Dai Soo's Luxury Outfitters? We can grab our payment, and if we're lucky maybe upgrade the ship while we wait to hear from the boss on the next job."
"Certainly! If we are indeed to get more high-profile jobs, it would be wise for us to be prepared."
As the group heads to the ship Jarl pulls Not2bee aside, "Hey Not2bee tell me, have you ever thought about being your own Droid? I was thinking on the trip here that maybe the time has come for you to not be anyone's property..."
NT-2B stares blankly for a moment, before responding. "I am not sure that I fully understand. My designation is to assist others. In many systems, droids are second-class citizens who are attacked or stolen if left alone. It was miraculous that I was able to find my way to you unhindered in the first place."
"While there is a part of me that would enjoy traveling with a greater focus on healing the sick and wounded, I am afraid that I would be unable to survive on my own. My programming prevents me from harming others, even to save my own life. The single exception I can make is for cases like removing an infected limb to save the whole."
NT-2B shakes his head. "While I am thrilled that you would consider me my own living being - something that many would never do - there are occurrences where it would be beneficial to pretend otherwise, and my options with freedom are still quite limited. However, I do not view myself as a slave, or as a servant, though I suppose in other hands I could be either. Wrapped Hands treated me well, as you have all treated me well."
GM Phntm888 |
Returning to the White Dwarf, you wait for the mechanics to finish refueling your ship, and then you take off from Krai Ven Station. NT-2B plots a hyperspace course to Essenx, and you take off, heading for the chilly world. Upon arrival, you see a capital ship in orbit - it appears to be one of the Empire's new Victory-class Star Destroyers.
A voice crackles over your comm, "Ship White Dwarf, this Essenx Spaceport Control. Please state the purpose of your visit."
It's the same voice you heard last time you were here, but he sounds much less relaxed - and just a little bit nervous.
Jeren Vallin |
"What now?"
Jeren's tone appears nonchalant, indifferent even. At the same time though his mind races.
'A Star Destroyer? Is it a coincidence? Or could it be related to the crystal?'
Daaneth Qilat |
"Just here to conclude business on the surface. Your records should show we were here just a few days ago without incident."
Daaneth tries to sound as relaxed and charming as possible, hoping there won't be any more questioning, that always meant trouble.
Persuasion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
After switching the comms off he turns to whatever assembled crew there is and smiles. "Looks like we might find ourselves some more trouble while we'really here but I'm not about to let our payment get away. Keep on your toes."
Vessani |
"I've really got a bad feeling about this," Vessani said nervously. "I mean, I know I've said it before, but this new Empire isn't exactly fond of non-humans, and we happen to have a lot of non-humans on board, plus a fugitive. If they find out..."
GM Phntm888 |
Since he hasn't posted yet...
Daaneth takes the ship in on the designated landing path, as NT-2B quickly analyzes the new regulations.
"It appears that they primarily related to the sort of weapons that can be carried on planet. Heavy blasters and blasters of the rifle variety cannot be carried except by Imperial or Planetary Security personnel. Doing so will result in a fine of approximately 500 credits. All forms of explosives and heavy weapons are strictly prohibited. Anyone caught with them shall be arrested and charged with a crime. We will also have to submit to a search of our vessel by Imperial authorities to ensure we have no illegal contraband."
Looking up at you, he says, "While our new ascension gun should not pose a problem, they may frown heavily on the longblaster. I also suspect that they will have some rather pointed questions for anyone carrying a lightsaber."
Vessani |
"So slugthrower pistol it is," Vessani said, putting his cache of heavy blasters into hia room. "I still have some blades if anybody is interested."
If I remember correctly, all blasters except for sporting blasters are limited to the military.
Daaneth Qilat |
"Looks like I'm leaving my new toy on the ship then. It's not like I've never had to shoot my way out of a situation with nothing but a pistol anyway."
Daaneth shrugs but signals everyone to get ready to move off the ship. He sends a message to Vin Dai Soo hoping to get a response before they leave for the shop.
Jarl Tehnos |
"We have smuggling compartment for a reason, everything that may be deemed illegal we'll hide and everything else, we'll carry with us. Rifles stick out too much anyhow".
We have already delivered the cargo correct?
Jeren Vallin |
Hmm... Jeren has been keeping his lightsaber disassembled and the parts stored in different compartments of his utility belt for quite some time now. Would that be enough to fool a search? Because if not he certainly has no problem leaving the parts in the ship's smuggling compartments just to be on the safe side.
GM Phntm888 |
If you completely disassemble it, 1 minute or a DC 25 Use the Firce check as a full-round action. If you separate it into 2 pieces, like Kanan from Star Wars Rebels, it's a standard action, but someone might notice it's a lightsaber if they're smart enough.
After loading up all the contraband into the smuggling compartment, Jarl flies the White Dwarf in to the landing coordinates. As the ship settles onto its landing struts, an Imperial customs officer and 4 stormtroopers enter the bat and stand at the door, waiting for the ramp to lower.
Daaneth Qilat |
"Welcome party is here!" Daaneth smiles as he lowers the ramp for the customs officer and walks down to greet them.
"How are you gentlemen today? Want a tour? No one knows this ship like I do. Been planetside long?" Daaneth keeps up a dialogue as long as the officer is willing to let him, hoping to distract them enough from doing a thorough job, trying to looks as trustworthy as he possibly can in the process.
Persuasion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Vessani |
Standing next to the Captian with his arms crossed and frown on his face, he looked at each face to see if he recognized any of them.

GM Phntm888 |
"That won't be necessary...Captain. You and your crew will remain out here while two of my men search the ship. Do you have your papers in order?"
The officer seems less than thrilled to be dealing with Daaneth, as he motions two of the stormtroopers onto the ship. The other two take up positions on either side of the door. He holds out his hand, expectantly, waiting for the datacard.
You don't recognize any of them.
You do have all the requisite papers, by the way. Fialla made sure of that when she gave you the ship.
Jace Concorkill |
The vurk will exit, his lightsaber hidden and Quen's hidden in the different smuggler compartment, dissembled, while trying to remain out of the attention of the Stormtroopers.
Jeren Vallin |
Having opted to keep his lightsaber on him in the same manner he has always done -disassembled and divided among different compartments of his utility belt- Jeren exits the ship and joins the rest of the crew. He keeps quiet for the time being, the presence of the stormtroopers unnerving him just a little bit more than he would like or expect.
GM Phntm888 |
"Thank you. Please remain off to the side while the stormtroopers do their jobs."
The officer takes the datacard from you and inserts it into his datapad. After a few short moments, he ejects the card and hands it back. "All of your paperwork seems to be in order. As long as the ship's weapon systems match those on your weapons load-out permit, and my men don't find anything, you will be free to go about your business."
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
After a few more minutes, the stormtroopers descend the ramp and approach the officer. One of them says, "There is no cargo or contraband hidden on the ship. Everything appears in order."
The officer nods and says, "Very well. Form up." Turning to you, he says, "Thank you for your patience. Obey all laws on-planet, and I'm sure I won't have to see you again."
The officer leads the 4 stormtroopers out of the docking bay. As he leaves, a Twi'lek wearing a suit of coveralls with the dockmaster's insignia on it enters the docking bay, taking care to not get in the Imperials' way. Approaching you, he says, "Welcome to Essenx Spaceport. Now that the unpleasantness is out of the way, we can get to work on your ship. The docking fee is 50 credits per day. We can also provide maintenance and refueling services, if you need. The price of fuel is currently 30 credits a kiloliter, and routine maintenance is an additional 50 credits."
