To add to the ravages of a brutal civil war The Schaler Trivarium must also now suffer a terrible plague. You have accepted a mission to deliver a vital supply of much needed serum to the system. Delivery of the serum and other much needed medical supplies to an awaiting hospital ship, it should be an easy mission.
Anson has no time to answer Eli's query, focusing on stopping Thaya before she wrecks their only chance out of this planet and the war, to saving the lives of countless others with the medicine they had.
"Neither did I," Anson says heavily, and sighs. "But she would have killed us all… and more besides."
Anson stays silent a few more moments before speaking again. "Georg, you might know best how she would have wanted her body taken care of. We have to continue working and get out of here. When we're off-planet, we can deal with what happened."
Georg: I understand I have to pay for my part in this. But those who pulled the strings, those who put this into motion: they have to pay too! Particulary that witch Cortana Walder!
It was quite a way back, but Walder was the chief of security aboard the station where you first loaded on the serum. .
"What did she do? No, wait, answer that later. We can't get distracted now. Someone check on any movement near our position or relevant transmissions."
Anson looks up from his prep to communicate. "Monitor them and see if you cna get any more information. Let's hope prep is finished before they get anywhere close."
How much longer for prep, assuming I make sure everything is set? And what if I rush it or enlist other people to help?
What does that problem mean, specifically? If we hypothetically lift-off now and head back to The Schaler Trivarium as planned, does it mean we won't have enough fuel before we arrive at a friendly station that can give us or sell us fuel?
Anson bites his lip, trying to figure out a way past the newest problem. Perhaps if he took it slower or diverted some of the fuel use…?
In the meantime, what roll would be appropriate to figure out a workaround? Engineer? Engineer (J-Drive) which Boone has? Mechanic?
Lift-off from a planetary body requires a huge amount of reaction mass, and you really hadn't budgeted for it (of course you didn't expect to be hi-jacked either). You don't know if you enough to make it back to the jump-point at the edge of the system; make a test, no DM, and if successful there's a gas-giant in system where you can scoop some hydrogen.
Fineline easily evades the incoming missiles, as he throttles up, hurling the Luis Wui and its precious cargo out of Engarno's atmosphere and back into the safety of space.
Anson exhales through his nose heavily, in relief, even as he continues piloting the ship to he route he set.
"Thank you, Boone," he says, before addressing everyone. "I'll be heading the ship towards a nearby gas giant to refuel before we jump back to the Schaler Trivarium itself. We've got through the worse of it but keeping an eye out is still important. We're not done until we've delivered our cargo."
So you are hailed by the monitors as you leave orbit: they will let you resume your mission, but Georg, and the bodies of Thaya and the Major have to be turned over to them first.
Anson replies by asking for their reasoning for turning over the bodies as well as Georg, considering you are escorting them to the proper authorities in the Schaler Trivarium to be tried and also as evidence.
"How did you know about that?" Anson's eyes narrow in suspicion. "But the fact that they are dead should be confirmation enough. We require evidence of their duress and Georg is willing to testify."
Is there anyone else in the bridge with me willing to offer their opinion? Is Georg here too?
Georg and Dr. Fineline have taken Thaya to the remaining cryo-berth. Boone is still with you
In the lower berths : Georg To Dr. Feldspar I know I've got to pay for the part I played in this, but what I'm worried about is that I might be 'silenced'; I know that there was big players involved in this.
"Whats the matter captain? If they want them why not just hand them over, along with this shipment and we can pickup another cargo and get out of this crazy system."
