Circle's Traveller Game

Signing in!! Woohoo!!

Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)
Skills:

On board.

Anything need killed yet? No? I'll be in my bunk, then....

Male Human Pilot

Good day, ladies and gentlemen. This is your pilot speaking.

All right then.

Let's have initiative rolls from our VRFRAG players then.

Male Human Pilot

Initiative + Dex: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4) + 1 = 6

Nothing like jumping right into it!

init: 2d6 - 1 ⇒ (5, 4) - 1 = 8

Initiative + Dex: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (6, 6) + 0 = 12
WOW...good start

Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)
Skills:
Art 0, Carouse 0, Computers 0, Deception 0, Language 0, Life Science (Biology) 1, Medic 2, Persuade 1, Steward 0, Survival 0, Trade 0

Initiative: 2d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 1) - 1 = 6

Qorin, check out the discussion page, and then pick one of the remaining doors.

Feldspar, Fineline, re-roll: with the loser having to announce their first turn move.

Male Human Pilot

Oooooh, my.

Initiative: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 = 7

Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)
Skills:
Art 0, Carouse 0, Computers 0, Deception 0, Language 0, Life Science (Biology) 1, Medic 2, Persuade 1, Steward 0, Survival 0, Trade 0

Initiative: 2d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 6) - 1 = 9

I guess that means that you get to announce, Anson.

Sorry so delayed, folks. I was at a con this weekend.

In case anyone missed it in the discussion thread...

Door #4

Male Human Pilot

Anson draws his weapon and moves to behind column H.

The initiative order then is a follows:

Boone, Qorin, Feldspar, and then Fineline.

However we'll be announcing in reverse order, so as to allow 'opportunity fire' for quicker characters.

Aurora draws her pistol and move to stand behind column G, keeping a watch on the doors she can see.

K. It'll take roughly three rounds to reach the nearest column.

Boone keeps an eye out for movement, kneeling down and listening.

A -1 Listen Check for Boone: everyone has soft-soled shoes.

Will Q be able to get a shot off at his ex? Er .. at Doctor Feldspar?

Otherwise, he'll advance carefully to column F.

Umm..ok, what do I roll for a listen check?? From what I can tell, Recon is the skill most people use for perception checks.

Listen (recon): 2d6 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (3, 4) + 1 - 1 = 7

Darn...missed it by one!!

EB: Hmmm. K. Interesting that there's not a perception skill. For the sake of this little mini-game the VR characters are skill in 0 in pretty much anything that might come in the course of the game.

Q: Right now column F blocks line of sight, of course if she moves...

Turn #2 then.

Eli will remain where he is, kneeling and watching his arcs of fire for anyone.

Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)
Skills:
Art 0, Carouse 0, Computers 0, Deception 0, Language 0, Life Science (Biology) 1, Medic 2, Persuade 1, Steward 0, Survival 0, Trade 0

I'm assuming that Aurora is a third of the way to the column. She is keeping a watch for any signs of movement.

Keep in mind that after this turn the lights come back on.

So here is where everybody will be when the lights come on.

VR Game at beginning of 3rd turn

Dr. Aurora Feldspar F34 (34) SI MD 343B82-A(U)
Skills:
Art 0, Carouse 0, Computers 0, Deception 0, Language 0, Life Science (Biology) 1, Medic 2, Persuade 1, Steward 0, Survival 0, Trade 0

If Aurora has line of sight to Anson, she will fire as she moves.

Male Human Pilot

Anson runs for the pillar's cover when the lights turn on!

A moving shot with a pistol at that range, at least a -5.

Never mind. With that modifier, I have no chance of hitting.

As you only got one load (six shots) that might be for the best.

So Auf and AnF will both be sprinting full out for columns F. and H. respectfully. Q will continue moving up to column F, unable to see Auf on the other side, and blocked from EB (who's still watching and waiting) sight by column D.

Turn 4.

The long (horizontal) axis of the game grid would be Long Range. The short (vertical) axis Medium Range: -4 and -2 respectfully.

Male Human Pilot

I didn't realize our initials were so similar, Aurora!

Ansom moves down, peering to make sure no one is in his way before running.

Can I see MQ through the 2-meter wall?

It's slatted, like a venetian blind. You can see him, but unless you right adjacent to the 'wall/fence' you won't be able to thread a shot through.

Eli will move to take some cover from the pillar off to his right.

On gaining whatever cover the pillar provides, Qorin takes a moment to listen, and slowly begins to advance counter clockwise around the column, pistol at the ready and an eye peeled for targets.

recon: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 3) + 1 = 7
stealth: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 1 = 4

MQ: Your VR alter-ego is pretty much a(0) in all skills.

My mistake, I had forgotten you said that. Lets amend those rolls to 6 and 3, then.

Moves at beginning of Turn 4

EB: You can take a -2 shot at Dr. Feldspar's VR character as she darts into your arc of fire.

MQ: You still made the Recon roll, and since you have a higher initiative then the good Dr., I'll allow you wait in ambush behind the pillar F. as she rushes by.

Auf: A -2 Recon roll, if you successful you see MQ's shadow as he waits besides the pillar, otherwise you run almost straight into him.

AnF: For now it looks like all the action is happening at the other side of the room, as you almost leisurely make your way to column H.

At the optimal moment, then...

Qorin attacks the good doctor, assuring himself that it has nothing to do with their past.

attack!: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
I'm sorry I hurt you: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7

I'll take the shot...

To Hit: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7

Sorry Doctor.. :-)

The Good Dr. had the bad luck if entering the game grid between two players who beat her initiative roll.

EB: with the -2 modifier for range and a moving target you miss.

MQ: You hit: provided she fails to notice you. However, if she does stop her forward movement, she'll still be exposed to EB.

First Blood

MQ: I'll give the doctor a chance to spot you. But since you beat her in initiative, if she does backpedal, I'll give you the shot back, and you can even keep the die-roll.

Recon: 2d6 - 2 ⇒ (1, 6) - 2 = 5

Looks like Aurora fails to notice the shadow...

"Sorry, Doc," Muahahaha!

So where are you guys getting your damage # from: the Mongoose core book has a revolver doing 3d6-3. We'll stay with the 2d6 (you're welcome Dr.)but for the regular play we'll be going with the Mongoose rules.

So Dr. Feldspar is down to 0 Endurance.

Beginning a new turn.

I'll be travelling for the next three days; but I'm 88% sure I'll have WIFI access, if not, then I'll be silent until Wednesday night.

By next Sunday we'll begin 'real world' play.
