Arianwyn's years spent poring over tomes and arguing with historians, storytellers and lunatics (sometimes all three in one) enables him to know with utter certainty what is transpiring.
"Welcome to the birth of your race..." he says to Reason with a certain grim interest.
"This is the final rite that will complete the pact between devilkind and the humans of Bael Turath."
"Well, obviously. Everyone must know that."
"We need to get those priests away from the altar. They will drain Pirot if they stay near him."

Arianwyn looks at Reason skeptically, and then looks over at Whiteclaw and Gobi in particular, before turning back to Reason with a look of "You think?"
Kia silently absorbs the information and nods brusquely. "Let's get on with this shall we?" Her look of concentration bodes rather badly for the sacrificial clerics.

Striding forward, Seraphiel's stance and actions reject the horror before him. A shaft of pure light blasts towards the sacrificing cleric, but the deva slightly misjudges the distance and the attack falls short.

Feeling the correct temperature for the first time in many months, Reason strides forward and outlines S2 with the glorious light of Ioun.
Drawing a dagger across his own body, S1 watches as blood leaks down his skin, seeming to draw strength from it. In eerie concert, a small wound opens on Pirot's prone form. Raising a transparent dagger high, it hurtles towards Whiteclaw, missing her, but shattering at her feet and splattering her with acid.
Two minor actions. Bleed. Loses 1hp himself to bleed 1hp from Pirot. Must be adjacent to the altar to do this.
S4 also descends the stairs and throws a glassy dagger at Whiteclaw. His aim is better and he hits the gnoll hard, the shattering impact adding to her wounds and sending dark acid pouring into her fur. A look of horror creeps over his face as Vel's spell hits and he collapses, prone behind the altar.

Fastidiously stepping out of the fiery zone and ignoring the pain it causes him 3hp damage to Arianwyn the warlock pauses only to curse his nearest foe before taking advantage of Reason's help and sending an eldritch blast into S2.
Gobi takes only a second to restore himself before moving purposefully towards S1 and confronting the deranged and mutiliated human nose to chest, positioning himself to take advantage of any help Kia can give him.

Wounded though he is, Seraphiel strides out of the zone and sends purifying light through the gloom of the temple at S1. The cleric screams as he is pushed inexorably away from the altar. In the process he nearly falls, but just stays on his feet.

Vel curses and steps forward in the flames (J18), the red lines on her armor glowing brilliantly even in the inferno. Her orb flashes and a wave of force bursts forth from the altar (J8), leaving flickering flames behind.
Orbmaster's Incendirary Detonation - burst 3, enemies only. Detonation vs S1, S2, S4 Ref (1d20+9=29, 1d20+9=20, 1d20+9=19, 1d6+6=8) Crit on S1 for Force damage to S1 (6+6+1d6=13) 13 force and knocked prone. If the others are hit, 8 force and knocked prone. Fire damage presumably irrelevant. Vel was bloodied by the start of turn damage, and so has activated her bloodcut armor, giving her resist all 10 through her next turn.
Fire damage of less than 10 does nothing to these folks.
Vel grunts slightly in satisfaction as her hunch that fire is unlikely to affect the infernally possessed proves correct. The explosive force of her orb is another story however. All the clerics she targets are buffeted into temporary submission and the two remaining on their feet are hurled to the ground.
Whiteclaw marks S1 as her own and moves to flank with Gobi, sending her frostblade dicing through the air. The attack hits, but not as hard as she'd like. Angry at allowing pain to distract her from her purpose, she absent-mindedly swipes away the acid eating into her.

Advance warning. I'm going to be visiting a friend from Weds-Fri and may well not get to post frequently. The various modules and notepads will be travelling with me however, so you may not notice much difference.
Reason's bolt of divine light just misses his prone foe, but the tiefling musters his resources and gathers his strength once more.
Staggering to his feet, S1's wounds open and he continues to bleed.
These guys lose hp at the start of their turn due to their horrible mutilations. S1 is now bloodied.
Lashing out with an ordinary dagger, his movements are almost too fast to see. His first blow strikes true, but the second is pushed aside by the gnoll's coarse fur. Fanaticism fills his face as he shakes off the effects of Vel's sleep spell.
S2 clambers to his feet and concentrates on bleeding Pirot, slashing ferociously at his own arms with his dagger.
Loses hp due to mutilation. Moves to stand up. Uses two minors to bleed himself and Pirot.
S3 nods curtly and moves swiftly back to the altar, cutting his arms as he goes and easily negotiating the slippery floor. Pirot moans quietly as his sufferings continue.

Afraid not. The dark squares in front of the altar represent a ten foot pit full of bodies. It's a good idea though. For reference you may wish to note that he is bound and will require unbinding before you can move him anywhere.
OK. In which case... Move to M9. Teleport to K5. A minor to untie Pirot? If it isn't, he'll curse S2.
Arianwyn disappears in a flash of light, before reappearing on the other side of the altar, "Good morrow, I take it this is the point at which one of your number declares I should die for the glory of Bael Turath?" he says nonchalently.
Arianwyn's flurry of movement takes the clerics by surprise, and his mocking words merely infuriate them.
"Vile desecrator. You will be food for our master. Your body is unworthy of sacrifice." S2's wounds bleed sluggishly as the warlock's curse hits him.
It will be a standard action to get Pirot untied under the circumstances. You'll need to cut bits of bloodstained leather. Note that you're standing in a pool of blood and moving into another square of it requires a DC15 Athletics check to stay on your feet.

"How tiresome. Did they really utter such gibberish?" he asks Pirot as if it's the most natuaral thing in the world to be standing in a pool of blood next to an altar.
Pirot turns his head with difficulty to the warlock. "I imagine they might have been both more impressive and more dangerous, but this is hard enough I think ..." The effort exhausts him and he slumps into welcome unconsciousness.
Kia moves out of the nasty zone, to P13, and says something inspiring to Reason. She then surveys the battle and decides it is time Gobi hit the priest again.
"You need to feel better Reason, otherwise we'll never get through this."
Reason can spend another healing surge with an extra 1d6+3=5 HP
"Now Gobi, we need to finish at least one of these off quite soon, could you....?"
Apologies for the delays to your schedule mayhem. Am now back and catching up fast. We are go for slaughter.
Kia's sensible actions bring much needed help to Reason, but she doesn't cut the mustard with Gobi, whose craghammer clonks resoundingly on the ground beside the mutilated human.

Gobi moves in closer to the mutilated clerics in front of them, his stomach twisting just as he is catching glimpses of them. He looks over at Arianwyn and shouts "Get him out of there!" The Dwarf then swings his hammer at the two clerics.
Gobi - you need to make a DC15 Athletics check to stay on your feet in the blood.
Gobi's hammer swings with awful purpose as he smites at the appalling figures in front of him. S1 screams, high and terrifying as the blow falls on him. S4 somehow manages to roll aside, leaving the dwarf triumphant, but disgusted.
Through bloodstained lips, S1 continues to exhort his allies - "Finish the rite. Nothing else matters. The rite!"

Suffused with horror by his closer view of the self-inflicted injuries made by the deranged humans, Gobi misses his footing and slips on the blood. Even as he crashes to the ground, his hammer strikes a mighty blow on S1.
You're prone. Getting up again is a move action. Each time you step into a blood-filled square, it requires a DC15 Athetics check, since you're basically wading around an abbatoir with added hellfire. The attack was still good enough to get S1 even at a -2 penalty though, so Gobi did good.

The mutilated human screams and screams again as Vel's illusions start to overwhelm him.
Whiteclaw wastes no time. Moving to flank her foe, her frostblade swipes down with awful precision. It is clear that the cleric can take very little more before his own appalling mutilations kill him.

Skin still smoldering from the acid, Reason moves to where Ioun can heal both Arianwyn and Pirot.
Ongoing drops him to 26hp - still Bloodied. Move to N9. Healing Word on Pirot - surge+5 hp. Healing Word on Arianwyn - surge + 8 hp. 8 on save vs ongoing.
Reason's passionate devotion to his deity leads him to heal Arianwyn and Pirot even as he is slowly dissolved himself.
The sacrificial clerics show only too clearly the results of a less praiseworthy devotion.
S1 shifts back and stabs ferociously at Whiteclaw with another of his lethal glassy daggers. The gnoll's defences are too good and he just misses. Nothing prevents his own wounds from opening further.
S2 hurls a glass dagger at Arianwyn, hitting him and sending shards of acid filled glass into Pirot for good measure. His exertions open up his own wounds and he is visibly bloodied.
Glass dagger v Arianwyn (1d20+9=26, 1d4+6=10, 2d6=4). 14hp damage to Arianwyn, 7 ongoing acid damage. 4 hp damage to Pirot, 3 ongoing acid damage
S3 stares at Reason and something in the ravaged face hints at recognition of the tiefling's race. Another glass dagger leaves his hand, but shatters without wounding Reason directly.
Glass dagger v Reason (1d20+9=19, 1d4+6=8, 2d6=9). 4hp damage to Reason.
S4 stands and stabs ruthlessly at Gobi. The blow misses, but the glassy shards still do some damage as the sacrificial maniac discovers to his own cost. Even so, he finally manages to banish Vel's sleep spell from his system.
Glass dagger v Gobi (1d20+11=12, 1d4+6=8, 2d6=5). 4hp damage to Gobi, 3 ongoing acid damage. Also deals 4hp damage to S4 with 3 ongoing acid. Save v slow (1d20=17)
In his haste to save the professor, Arianwyn's feet slip as he pulls the man off the altar. Still clutching at Pirot, the warlock falls prone. Pirot remains unconscious, but his wounds at least are no worse.
I don't know about you, but I get the feeling that Kia is rapidly loosing her cool in these last few fights. I think she needs a cup of hot cocoa and a good rest.
When I stand up, do I need to make another athletics check? or is it just when I enter a blood filled square? I can see some hilarity coming with gobi standing up and then slipping back down on his bottom
Standing up is fine. It's moving from one blood-filled square to another that needs the check. You can automatically save from falling prone anyway as you're a dwarf and they're remarkably hard to knock over. Which I should have remembered earlier and didn't...
Kia's attempts to rid the party of at least one turbulent priest meet with no success at all, and she takes cover behind a convenient tomb, waiting for a better opportunity.
Reason - please note Kia's re-roll to your save. You can make this immediately.
The Dwarf stands himself up and looks between the two clerics, "Alright mates, let's be on with it then."
Gobi's grip slips from the blood on his gloves and he misses the cleric.
Gobi rises to his feet with an expression that bodes no good at all for the misguided cleric in front of him. Looking the man full in the eyes, he issues a wordless challenge.
Reason - please note Kia's re-roll to your save. You can make this immediately.
