Alright, I figured I go ahead and get things rolling. Post here, and we'll make sure everyone's characters are in order.

I'm not sure what all you need so here's a test post.

Hi! So, there should be a Profile Tab that you can access by clicking on your screen name/avatar. When playing by post, you need to type your character information into the Profile Tab so that your DM/GM (me) can see your character information.

How to post in-game.

Aside from typing what you are doing or saying, there are a few things that will make posts easier for everyone to read.

There are certain commands that if posted inside these brackets: [ ] will change the text that immediately follows it.

Once you wish to stop the text from being changed, you follow with another set of brackets with /followed by whatever command you used in the first set of brackets.

For example: If you want to make text bold, put a b inside the first set of brackets, and then /b in the set following the words you want bolded. Bold text is generally used to denote words spoken in character.

Example: "Prepare to meet your doom, orc swine!"

If you want to ask a quick question Out-of-character, or make a non-game comment you can type ooc in the first set of brackets and /ooc in the second set. This will turn the text a grayish blue color.

Example: What is the duration of a sleep spell again?

Italics can be used to represent thoughts - so if you want to include your character's unspoken thought process as part of your post, you can do so, or you can use it if you are communicating telepathically with another character. Type i in the first set of brackets and /i in the second set to end the italics.

Example: Is that bloody halfling going to eat every last scrap of cheese?!

The boards also have a dice-rolling application. To roll the dice, you type the word dice inside a set of brackets, then follow with the type of roll you want it to perform. You would then type /dice in the closing brackets. Once you Submit Post, it will display the roll on the post.

If you want to roll a twenty sided die, type 1d20

if you want to roll a twenty-sided die and add your attack bonus type 1d20+5 (or whatever your bonus happens to be).

You can also roll multiple dice. For example, if your 6th level wizard casts fireball and you need to roll damage, you can type 6d6 (which represents 6 rolls of a 6-sided die).

Fireball!: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 1, 1, 6) = 22

If you want to identify the reason you are rolling the die (initiative, attack, fireball, etc.), you can do so by typing: dice=whatever you wish to use as a description in the first set of brackets. This will yield something similar to what you see above with the fireball example.

Feel free to try some of these out.

If you have any questions about what a character sheet should look like in your Profile, take a look at some of the aliases under my name Cuchulainn. It will give you some ideas about an easy-to-read format.

I found it!!

I still have some things to add to my character on here.

If you go into the "Account" tab at the top of the screen, you can create an additional alias with the name of your character, leaving Kara Edmondson 494 as your default alias.

For example: this is the alias I will use to run the campaign.

Liberty's Edge

Meanwhile, this is my default alias.

Any progress on characters? I haven't seen seen our third post yet.

Also, make sure you fill in your character abilities in your profiles, not just the templates.

Look at the profile of this character as an example. She is complete except for her equipment.

Sorry I have been a bum. Got enough to start

Fill-in the rest of the character sheet, like the example of Morgan Iron Wolf above.

If you need help, give me a call and I'll walk you through how to cut and paste the template into the profile.
