If there are no more submissions by midnight, I will take all 5 of these characters into the campaign.

Maidie's backstory:
For Maidie, growing up in Kassen was a dreary and boring experience. The youngest of four children, she has spent most of her life watching her lumberjack father and housewife mother dote on her siblings. Granted, they doted on her as well, but that was to be expected. From a very early age, it was apparent to anyone that Maidie was smart. Real smart, with a mind that absorbed knowledge and memorized facts at an amazing rate.

But Maidie never really understood why her parents seemed to take such pride in their other children as well. They were all so boring and ordinary. Her oldest brother Jaden, a lumberjack like their father, could swing his axe all day, but so could most of the men in Kassen. And her brother Garth could swing his sword for just as long, and had been part of the Nirmanthi Irregulars during the war. And Elly...All Elly could do was smile, and sing and look pretty. The life in the family's woodland home was so mundane and boring, Maidie was certain she would lose her mind. All she could do was roll her eyes and thank the gods that she hadn't been born a gnome, since she would surely have succumbed to the bleaching long ago.

When the wizard Holgast took notice of her intellect and agreed to take her as an apprentice and teach her magic, she figured her life would finally become somewhat interesting. And for a while it was. Holgast taught her the fundamentals of magic, and helped her form a bond with Tanglefoot, the hedgehog she had found under her family home and adopted. But Holgast's lessons came with a price. She had to endure his mumbling, erratic teaching style, and spend countless hours doing mundane chores in the wizard's crooked tower before she was allowed freedom to explore the books in the overstuffed library.

It wasn't long before Maidie could extract no further learning from her sessions with Holgast. Instead, she turned to his books, and devoured one dusty volume after another. She quickly learned to master simple cleaning cantrips and how to summon unseen servants to do her chores for her, so she had plenty of time to lose herself to the pages with Tanglefoot nestled happily in the folds of her robe.

Maidie is grateful for her hedgehog companion, since she never really got along with people. Lately, she has focused her studies on the arts of conjuration and teleportation, perhaps from a subconscious desire to either summon some interesting company or simply whisk herself away from Kassen, never to return.

Now, as she nears her nineteenth birthday, the prospect of completing the quest of the Everflame serves as a welcome distraction, and perhaps as an opportunity to finally prove to herself and her family that she has outgrown Kassen and is ready to seek out the wonders of Golarion on her own.

Also, profile updated with gear selection, backstory and familiar stats.

@GM Dragon you need to make a ruling on Rigliame crafting his own weapons and armor.

Midnight which time zone?

He can craft weapons or armor/shields, but not both, unless he takes 2 crafting skills. A DC roll of 10+AC bonus of the armor or shield. For weapons the DC is whatever is in the core rulebook on page 93.

I thought I read EST somewhere.

Est. 4.5 hrs left

Eh, still at work. No time for me...

This is the crunch for my submission (minus equipment, still figuring that out). I'm still editing the backstory. If it's not up by the deadline then go on without me.

Dragon. One question. How many magical traps do you normally use in games?

Also. I have his back story done, but I work till 1am so won't have it or the alias up till at least then. I was supposed to get off at 10 est but was asked to stay overtime..... >.>

I am using mostly adventures precreated, so I'm not sure what to tell you on that.

Alright, here it is. I saw that basic items were being provided, so that saved a lot of time. Thanks for your consideration, and good luck to all!

I'm very impressed with the variety of races submitted. Used of mostly humans being used.

I'll give you till then. I'm gonna be at the hospital most of the night. Father-in law doesn't have much time left.

sorry to hear that, it should be up soon, I manged to get off at 11:00

alrighty, here he is, I may add a thing or two here and there after re-reading (main melee weapon, for instance, can't decide on shortsword or rapier) it but I think, for the most part, everything is A-ok.

pictures on how I see him looking-, just add green eyes.

during scout/combat work

during play at the inn.

Well, there are only six characters to choose from! It's not a bad thing, because since you all chose different classes and there's such a wide variety of races as well, I will take the lot of you. That's right! All six. The only catch is, if your character dies and cannot be healed back to life, you must bow out of the campaign. You are welcome to read the story, but not resubmit a character. Does everyone agree to these terms? Let me know as soon as you read this. Thank you.

I will agree. Is there a party size where this will stop?

I accept these terms.

Also, thanks for pointing out that typo in my crunch. I use one of my other aliases as a template what I make a new one, and I forgot to change that.

if the party drops to 4, I'll post for an additional player to keep the campaign going.

I think this is a very good decision. As you point out, there is little overlap in roles, and with six players we are a little less vulnerable to players dropping from the game. Both of the other PbP's I'm in currently have six players, and that's a good number.

I look forward to gaming with you all.

I just need to jack up the current CR of the encounters. Something I need to learn how to do.

Check out this thread with community-created 6-player conversions. It's of the Kingmaker AP, but there is a lot of discussion about how the respective GM's scale the encounters.

I'm in Alexander Kilcoyne's Kingmaker campaign, and he does an excellent job of scaling that has left us on the edge of our seat countless times, and yet we have only had a single PC death over three AP chapters (and that could have been easily prevented, since the player was dropping out anyway).

Glad to help.

Some quick and very basic rules of thumb when designing and scaling encounters in pathfinder:
- Action economy is a big deal, so adding more creatures is often a better choice than increasing the CR of individual creatures.
- Use the XP budget as a guideline when figuring out how much to add. There are some very good examples in the Stolen Lands conversion thread.
- Keep the terrain and environment in mind. Often, maps form choke points and tight areas where more people are not necessarily an advantage.
- Don't be afraid to adjust things on the fly if you find out you have made an encounter too easy or difficult. Add a handful of extra hp to monsters, have reinforcements show up, drop the boss even though he stil has 1/3 hp left etc.

Sounds good to me. Also, I created an alias.

just so everyone knows, the gameplay thread is up '3
