Cool backgrounds all round. It has clarified some things for me, and i now realise that our party is made up of two that can't see in the dark, one that's scared of the dark, one with some darkness and possible self loathing on the soul, and one with multiple personality disorder.....hmmm....... this should be great fun.

I will be off to girraween until Monday so may catch up if there is a rollplay on that night. Brethan will just go with the flow if possible!
I won't be in a position to post though until i return.
I will be happy to post on your behalf Creedor >:)
You can trust me....
Narrator Prime |
I just posted here so you would come and read it!
hehehehahaha......mwhahaHAHAHAHAHA
Oh.....humor. How droll.
Brethans takes 3 points of con damage.... BWAHAHAhahahahahahaha....errr.
On your question in thread, you have a cleric in party who may help with the possession stuff. Kendra certainly cant help that way since her focus is mostly arcane.

How tough are Aussie men??
The scene is set: A dark cold night wind blowing campfire flickering stars twinkling in the dark sky. 3 Hang glider pilots are sitting by a campfire one from Aus, one from Seth Afrika, one from New Zullund (bro). The Seth Afrikan and the bro are embroiled in tales of bravado for which they are famous. The first begins like this....Kivun the Kiwi says "I must be the meanist tuffest heng glider theer us. Why jist the otha day i lended un a field and scared a croc who came out of tha swump and ate sux min who were standin close by. I grebbed hum and wristled hum to the ground und killed hum with my bare hands, bro.
Hansie from Seth Afrika said "Well u gooys i lended orfter a 200 mile flight on a tiny trail. A black mamba, the most deadly snake in the world, slid out frum oonder the long grouse and made a move on me. I grebbed it with my bar handz, beet its head orf and sucked the poison down in one gulp. End I am still heer to tell the tale.
The Aussie lad sat quietly, smiled and nodded while they told their tales and slowly poked the coals with his penis.

Hehe, nice joke. However, be aware of Paizo's user policy on language and such Creedor. None of us are likley to complain but not sure how they police these things, and other board members read PbP threads regularly.
Also, Mr Creedor very nicely provided me with a source of maps for the town of Ravengro and a key to said town. I'll be uploading that for general reference this weekend so keep an eye out.
Cheers

Yes Narrator Prime I know....the most important rule is don't be a jerk...but i don't think the use of the anatoimically correct body part is vulgar...however I take on board the fact that my typing manner with respect to the Seth Afrikan and New Zullunder could be considered inappropriate.

I'll leave you to it then :)
Update for main thread coming tomorrow.

Pete has brought up an interesting point in the in game thread. A few things I'd ask of folks to help me out a little please.
Firstly, rather than make a blanket statement about preparations, can I ask that you post specific preparations for journeys, camping, night time etc as they pop up in game. Pbp run over long periods of time and I won't remember specific things you've said as the campaign progresses. Hopefully this will stop confusion on my part so we don't end up with the dodgy GM fubar that I made in my last post.
Secondly, when time permits for purchasing, selling and levelling, you need to post updates in this thread to keep track of major items. However, minor items such as torches, sunrods etc, I leave up to you to track and replace as needed. I trust you guys to be honest on that stuff.
When I get home from work this arvo (currently spending 4 hours in here marjking - sigh) I'll post some info about Ravengro that you can use to help with minor stuff like shopping etc. use that info as needed.
Cheers

Hey Mate, and the rewst of you lot, have been on deploymenty to Cairns for 10 days and since getting back haven't been in a position to get back online. Apparently when you go away for ten odd days things at home don't just automatically fix themselves!
I vaguely remember you telling me that actually :). Even when I'm home things don't get fixed hehehe.
Much to mels disaproval (also hehehe)

Although Professor Lorrimor has already raided the cache, he didn’t take all of the tools kept here—a fair amount of useful material
remains
- a dozen silver arrows
- four sun rods
- six flasks of holy water
- A small dull grey stone that radiates magic (needs spellcraft to identify)
- 10x +1 arrows
- 5x +1 arrows with another enchantement (needs spellcraft to identify)
- 2x +1 arrows with another enchantement (needs spellcraft to identify)
- 5x potions of cure light wounds
- 2x potions of lesser restoration
- 1x scroll of detect undead
- 2x scrolls of hide from undead
- 1x scroll of protection from evil
- a thin darkwood case decorated with an image of a scarab with a single eye glaring from its back—the same design that appears on the cover of the Manual of the Order of the Palatine Eye among the books in the professor’s collection. The darkwood case is worth 50 gp, and contains three objects of interest—a spirit board with a brass planchette, and four iron and glass vials containing tiny, churning clouds of vapor. The vials sitin velvet-lined indentations to the left of the spirit board and planchette, along with six empty indentions—the
professor made off with most of the vials but left these four behind.
The vials and brass planchett radiate magic and require identifying as well. (spellcraft check)
Narrator Prime |
- 5x +1 arrows with another enchantement (ghost touch arrows)
- 2x +1 arrows with another enchantement (bane vs undead)
- The planchette works like a Ouija board, allowing you to ask one question of the spirit realm per day. It does come with risks and may not provide true answers, but many find them useful.
- The vials are called Haunt Siphons and have been used by churches throughout the centuries for removing the haunting spirits from buildings and locations. They are used by opening the siphon as a Haunting manifests, trapping the necromantic energies in the jar. Once a jar is used, it cannot be used to trap spiritual energy again, but can be thrown as a grenade like weapon to cause necromantic damage.
Note those jars aren't useful against traditional undead, they are only useful against specific manifestations known as haunts. Haunts act more like spiritual traps than traditional combats (for your information).
- the grey stone is known as a Light Ioun. Its worth around 50 gold and when activated (lumos is key word), it floats around the head of the user and emits light like a torch. (useful for two handed weapon fighters or archers or sword and shield users for instance.)
That cost you two castings in total Koal, so you can keep that other slot free.
Brethan Snowspitter |
In the gameplay tab what does the [bold]ooc[/bold] mean??
For party treasure my suggestions as follows -
i would love that ioun stone, if doesn't require any real skill to activate! hehehe
- if not I would like a sunrod (or 2) for future use and a cure light potion.
- I would suggest an archer take the arrows, if we don't have one then divy the arrows up with whoever wants to use their bow.
- Casters keep all the scrolls. I would suggest keeping the potion of lesser restoration with the cleric for future use.
I'll ask the group characters if there is any value in everyone taking at least one flask of holy water (never know when you'll get sweaty and thirsty)
Narrator Prime |
Good plan. Some of those scrolls can be converted to spells in Koals spell book if they're on her spell list. Assuming folks don't mind the odd scroll being converted that way.
Alternatively leave em for the holy men in the group to use up as needed.
The ion stone takes no skill to activate. You throw it up and say the activation word, instant floating torch.
I'll an update in game tonight

Hey all,
Just a quick g'day from the land of EH! We've conquered the Vancouver section of the trip. Got to see some orcas at sea and a couple of grizzly bears in a habitat, not a zoo but a ski resort, literally a ski resort, not as tacky as it sounds. And we're on a road trip to Banff and a few other places. Driving on the opposite side of the road and being on the opposite side of the car to drive is fricken weird and picking the car up from the city was a baptism by fire. Good to hear everyone else is enjoying their holidays, or planning to anyway...Creedo :p I'll try to keep up wth the play since I'm missing out on the games at Pete's.
Enjoy all.

Just letting you know ive been building maps for the upcoming encounter which is why I haven't updated yet.
Just finished this morning but I'm on my way in to work to catch up marking now. Will update the game thread tonight.
Con, great to hear you're having a good time big fella. Don't get eaten by those big predators over there.
Cheers

Sorry I haven't replied earlier Conor but I am just sooooo green with envy right now. Your trip sounds amazing and Canada being number one on my to do list just makes wish I were heading there soon too. Your orca experience would have been surreal. Bear's freak me out so I wouldn't enjoy that so much. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the trip.

Sorry about the delay this last week. I had a fairly big week with school Audit and then didn't feel much like writing (since I'd spent all week writing s#++e for audit).
I've updated maps this morning on the PC and will post in thread tonight. Hopefully I'll be back into more regular stuff after that.
Cheers

Nope, it was written ages ago, however, this part has come into being because of walking dead :)
The zombie raid is something I've added to speed up some otherwise lengthy and rather tedious levelling via roleplay interaction and dodgy investigations. In a real life game those would work out to be about an hour of game play.
On PbP, it works out to be about 4 weeks of slow writing that wouldn't progress the story too far.
Cheers
