Sweet, slowly finding my way around the place. I did start to make an Inquisitor, the character idea sounds good, but I think he is a bit underwhelming on paper. So not 100% sure what chara I will run. Pete that site you linked is great, it has everything.
Though at least i do have a name picked out, that is the most important and hardest thing :)

Well 4 of you have found the site at least. Make sure you have a read through the players guide to get a feel for this campaign. It also has suggestions for classes to help you build something that will better fit this particular adventure.
Also, the alias I've posted with here has a background I wrote for a Ustalav game. It wasn't carrion crown, but it gives you an idea of the type of background that can help me tie your characters to the campaign better. See if you can get something posted into this thread for us to read.
To see the background story, just click on the name beside the Avatar (Irian in this case) . That takes you to his character page.
Cheers

OK have set up my Alias Malstrom_
I am creating an Oracle. Not sure whether to go a casting Oracle or Melee? Might decide after others have worked out what they are going to be. Basically it would just be swapping around my Str and Cha scores.
Basically nutted out most of the character, just go a few bits to work out, Feats spells.
How do I join the campaign or do you have to invite me Todd?
Once I have joined can I still make changes to my Alias?
Pete how did you make those bottons to hide some of the information in your alias?

Just post in the game thread G, and it'll link up for you easily enough.
I don't need to invite you.
Yep, you can change your alias' image and attributes as often as you want. However, once you've posted more than a few times, the name remains fixed.
As for putting spoiler tabs.
[ spoiler ] insert message for hiding here [/ spoiler ] is the formatting. All you need to do is get rid of the spaces I put in and it becomes a spolered tab.
I use those for speciall rolls at times or to keep the info on a page to a minimum at times.
eg
Gmon only

Gmon, he looks pretty kick arse. Should be fun to watch your gnome and petes fighter working together. Throw in some of Gregs sneak attack and my guys are in all sorts of trouble <sigh>
Cheers
Yes I did roll pretty good for my Oracle, I was a bit worried his stats were going to overpowered, did you want me to tone him down a bit? In saying that I still don't know whether to be a caster or melee Oracle, both look like fun. Sooo many options.....
I did like the idea of a little gnome in full plate running around faster than everyone else performing rolls and flips etc as if he was in padded leather.

That's a really good point to bring up for all to note. If you go afk mid post or type something that takes a while. Select all and copy it to your clipboard just in case your lease to the site times out and you loose it. I'm sure it's happened to Todd as it has happened to me and still does when i forget my own lesson.

Hey Master DM :)
I just realised the 2nd trait I picked which I found on the site that Pete sent us all (man that is a great site, it have everything) is actually 3rd party made, not pathfinder. Is it allowable? I was picking the Adopted trait as will be evident from my background (which is in my head, just need to type it out). Basically picked to get perception as a class skill.
Do you want me to choose another?
Adopted -
Militant Merchant (Dwarf)
You know what it takes to get your goods to market and will stop at nothing to protect your products. Years of fending off thieves, cutthroats, and brigands have given you a sixth sense when it comes to danger.
Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus to Perception checks made to determine surprise, and Perception is always a class skill for you.
Narrator Prime |
It seems ok G. As long as you aren't blind as the oracle thing hehe.
Also, make sure the second trait is from the players guide. I think that's where you got teachers pet from though, so you should be good.
I'm already liking the rogue and fighters instant disregard for each other. Makes me laugh when characters start off like that.
As long as it never gets to open animosity we're all good. It's a bit like Kage and Rodrix in our Legacy of Fire campaign. Nothing like a bit of blood splattering on the robes and some jovial magical push and shove to lighten the mood mid combat. Hehehe.

Archeos, you need to check a few things on your sheet
1 you mixed your hit points and AC around.
2 you havent chosen a campaign trait. If eleven reflexes gives a bonus to initiative, trade that for chance savior from the carrion crown players guide, as it gives the same thing but has story attatched to it. Other than that, read through the ones there as they are providing the reason for your journey to the town of Ravengro where this adventure starts.
3 your fort save is way too high as far as I can tell. With a con of only 12 the best you could hope for at level 1 is a fort of 3. Unless I'm missing something.
Not sure there is anything else.
Love the background by the way. It gives a good reason to wear a mask. Note it may still affect your social interactions with some folk though. This place is nothing if not paranoid.
Cheers

Sorry with the editing and re-editing of my CSheet I made a bo bo or 3 ....
Fixing ... if you spot anything else please tell me.
With the traits ... is it two traits total or two traits plus a campaign one?
I'll go back through and doublcheck everything (and check it against HeroBuilder) tonight or tomorrow.

Creeds. You'll need to go into your Account / Message Board Aliases and create a new Alias for your PC using his actual name. That way, you can post with your correct name within the game. When ever you create a new PC, follow the same procedure. This will keep everything relevant to your PC under his alias.

Mr Prime sir, I think I stuffed up. I wanted to take a greatsword because I want to be an awesome barbarian from the snows of the north, but may have to change that to a longsword until I can work out my vision problems. What I wanted to do was have the ability to wield a sword/fight and also hold a torch if needed as i have no low light /night/ dark vision ability, and i get the feeling that some of our most dangerous adversaries may be faced at night/in a crypt/sewer/low light. Can i get some help/guidance on this point....should i just keep my huge blade and fight blind....give me a wide circle people!! hehehe, so can you clarify for me, can i wield a greatsword one handed ( i thought no), so if I wanted to get a bastard sword I would need the exotic weapon proficiency feat if I was to use it one handed...can i do this?? If not thats cool it will be interesting to play along....the other thing i was thinking is can i set a torch on my backpack, or get a sconce/holder forged onto the front of my bukler??
Ulric Vastagar |
The Shield Sconce is not suitable for a buckler unfortunately. Be aware, that Ulric has the shield sconce setup and will use 'sunrods' on his shield to aid with dim/dark situations. Beware that depending on our casters, when we actually party up, they may have a light cantrip. So I have taken temporary solutions, sunrods at 2gp each for 6hrs of light and hope to progress at later levels to a continual flame spell item and maybe a darkvision wand for the casters to use upon us so we can remain stealthy. I would keep your big ass sword and have backup weapons (a 1hander and a light) and pickup a couple sunrods that you can throw at your feet or tether to some twine etc.
Archeos |
Hehe ... that sound's like a fun combat feat .....
"Torch Boots - you tie a torch to your boot laces and can use it as an off hand weapon, dealing 1 point of bouns damage, in addition to as a light source. If proficient with whips you can use it as a whip instead, doing 1d3 damage".

Just some conventions in game thread.
Use bold for anything spoken in character.
Any actions, thoughts etc to do with your character other than speech should just be typed normally.
You can use italics for designating anything official from Pathfinder (spells, feats, skills, equipment etc) eg. 'I unleashed a Fireball down the hall full of goblins' or 'I bull rush the nearest enemy.
Brethan Snowspitter |
ahh yes well i will try to conform to the conventions pete, but please don't be suprised if they are blown out of the water by about my tenth post....
also just wondering, for anyone that can help, is there a way of having the newer post at the top of the screen because I end up scrolling through all posts to get to the latest ones

Creeds. You've got a note on your profile about your CON. If you rolled up a score of 15 add your racial modifier +2 and it should be displayed at 17 +3. It current is listed as 15. Is your HP suppose to be 16 rather than 18? There's no Toughness feat so can't see how you get to HP 18 and I'm assuming you have the +1HP from your favored class
So Base 12 + 3 Con +1 Favored Class = Max 16
Brethan Snowspitter |
no let me check. I rolled 15 for con then I think i got a +2 for one stat at creation for being human, and i added it to con, makes it 17, then I could have this wrong, but I thought I worked out my HP as being your full hit die plus your con mod, so i took 12+3=15. So if I have anything different to that I stuffed up in the typing. I shall check.
yes just checked, that why i put the stuff I did in brackets (HP D12+3) and i have either typed it wrong or can't add for sh*!. Changes made.
And i just realised if I view just my posts (via the posts tab) the recent ones are at the top.
Narrator Prime |
What I do to get to the most recent posts is go to my home page. Then I click on the campaigns tab. It lists all the campaigns your in and will have a number in brackets showing how many new posts are there since you last checked. If you click that number, it takes you straight to the new posts.
I'm going to post an in game update tonight and maybe get this rolling along a bit since just about everyone is in.
Cheers
