NEW RULE: FAVORS:
Season of Factions’ Favor introduces a new type of support card: favors. Certain scenarios place favors into the blessings deck. When that card is discarded from the blessings deck, do what it says. If a favor would be encountered or removed from the blessings deck discard pile, banish it instead.

RULES: TRADERS:
In Season of Factions’ Favor, traders work differently than in Mummy’s Mask, in the following ways.
• When you are rewarded with a trader, instead of checking it off on the Bazaar card, record it on your Chronicle sheet.
• You do not visit traders after winning a scenario. Instead, at the start of each scenario in this Adventure Path, before setting out the locations, you may visit 1 trader you have recorded on your Chronicle sheet.
• Pay the trade cost with the usual number and type of cards from your deck, but instead of putting those cards in the box, put 1 in to your deck box and bury any others.
• At the end of the scenario, return the card you traded for to the game box, and put the card you returned to your deck box back into your deck.
For example, to pay the trade cost to a trader offering spells at a cost of 2 boons, put 1 of those boons into your deck box, bury the other boon, then add the spell to your deck. At the end of the scenario, return the spell to the game box and put the first boon back in your deck.

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

Hello my dear box runners and players!

I’d first like to say thank you so much for participating in the first Cards Against Gnomanity event. It’s truly been a fantastic showing by our burgeoning online community, and the box runners should be commended for putting up with a system that is still having some major wrinkles ironed out.

Cards Against Gnomanity officially ends this coming Sunday, August 12th, at 11:59 PM Eastern time. If you have a game ongoing that you’d like to continue past this time, that’s fine with us, but any game that ends after 11:59 will not be counted as being part of this event. However, we have another event that is starting up RIGHT AFTER this one! I’m talking about Play-By-Post Gameday VII. This event will include the multi-table special Assault on Absalom in slot 2, which runs from October 1st-November 12th. As of this moment, there are two slots left at tables for that special on the ACG side, so if you haven’t signed up yet, go check out the Specials Sign-up Sheet.

If you plan to continue a game and would like sessions reported between August 13th and September 30th to count as part of GameDay VII (and therefore be eligible for ACG boon rolls), please email me at cartmanbeck@orgplayonline.com with your screenname, the link to the paizo.com forum thread where you’re running the game, and the game number in the ACG online database BEFORE Cards Against Gnomanity ends on Sunday night.

When the first slot of GameDay VII ends on September 30th, if you are running or playing in any tables of Assault on Absalom, I will ask that you try to wrap up as many of your tables as possible in order to free up time and energy to devote to the Assault on Absalom run. We want this to be a huge success! Andrew (Hawkmoon 269) will be the lead for this event, so if you have questions about how it will run, email him at hawkmoon269@orgplayonline.com.

As of now, I’m seeing 75 sessions of ACG in our reporting sheet for Cards Against Gnomanity (I’ll note that I’m behind on reporting a few sessoins myself, but will get that taken care of later today). If you have not yet filled out the reporting sheet for your games, PLEASE do so as soon as possible! Reporting Sheet

Once the event ends and we've confirmed that all sessions have been added to the reporting sheet, I'll be doing a drawing for a small number of paizo.com gift certificates. Each player and box runner will have one chance at getting these, so it doesn't matter how many games you played, you have an equal shot. I'll also be looking over the total number of convention rewards/boons that we gave out to see how close to 10% we got... if the random number generator was a bit greedy, I may randomly hand out a few more of those as well.

Thank you all again, and feel free to email me with questions.

Tyler (Box Runner Nalshene/Cartmanbeck)

Is anyone interested in continuing this table after Cards Against Gnomanity ends? Let me know so I can get it added to the event list.

I am.

I was thinking of playing this character in the special at tier 5, but other than that I'd be up for continuing.

We'll probably take a break for the special anyway. I'm the card game overseer for it, so that will probably take a lot of my attention. We'll just need to make sure we don't start a scenario we can't finish before the special so that your character is free.

Female gnome Arcanist | Tier 4.5

I will probably drop out after this scenario we're gearing up for now. It's been great playing with you guys, though!

Hello! Welcome to Play By Post Gameday VII. As part of the festivities for this event, we have a few rewards you can win. After your table completes a scenario, win or lose, each participant (player and/or box runner) rolls 1d20. If your result is 1 or 20, you win. Select your reward from the list below and inform your Box Runner of your choice. We’ll make sure you get the reward sent to you.

Remember, Session 1 runs from August 13th, 2018-September 30, 2018. Your table must complete the scenario between those dates to roll for a reward. During Session II (October 1-November 12th) we’ll be running the multiple table interactive special Assault on Absalom.

Box Runners: If you have any questions about how to report, please contact me.

Have fun!

Gameday VII Adventure Card Game Rewards
Season of Tapestry’s Tides Reward #1
Unconventional Firepower: You may add one weapon that has the Firearm trait and one item that has the Ammunition trait from the Gunslinger Class Deck to your box. These cards must have an adventure deck number equal to or lower than your current tier. Each time you advance a tier, you may exchange one of these cards with another card of the same type from the Gunslinger Class Deck, following the same restrictions.

Season of Tapestry’s Tides Reward #2
Burgeoning Captain: At the beginning of a scenario that uses the Skull & Shackles Base Set, you may cross out this reward to gain the skill Survival: Wisdom +2 on your checks attempted while you are on a ship and on your checks attempted against a ship until the end of the scenario.

Season of Tapestry’s Tides Reward #3
Sea Legs: When you would fail a combat check against a bane that has the Aquatic trait, you may cross out this reward to reroll the dice and add 1d6; take the new result.

I see I messed up pretty bad by encountering the wrong card. Unfortunately, don't have the time today to fix it, so gonna have to wait 8-9 hours before I can do anything about it. Sorry. :(

All good :-) Definitely hard in an unstable environment

The Concordance

Is it worth Rahali playing Augury on the Seige deck to try and set things up for players or is the trigger risk make it not worth it as we know they are all bad guys?

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

I don't think it is worth it.

I caught the Elder Ifreeti thing. But with the instability of the site, I didn't think it was worth it and just took your encounter with the Elder Ifreeti and banished the Acid Mantis you would have encountered and posted an update. Before I could post an explanation that I'd done this, the site crashed.

So, all good. Consider the spell you got a gift the how rough it has been these few days.

Link to Deck Handler ; Cleric 6 ; Looking For: Spell 6 -> Spell 6 -> Blessing 6 -> Ally 6 -> Item 6 -> Armor 6

Thanks, helps me out a lot mentally. Today was a rough day at work, full of deadlines and program crashes.

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

So this thing is about to deal between 12 and 21 dmg. That is close to game over. The only cards Grazzle has left in hand are Eruption which it is immune to and Maftet Hunter which only adds to attacks at other locations. I'm open to suggestions.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

Urk :-(
We can try the blessings and see if luck is with us.
Rahali can reduce all her damage by putting turtle on top of deck
Otherwise good game :-)

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

I don't know what many of Enora's cards do. Maybe there is still hope.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

With Rahali reducing all her damage to 0, there will be at least one card left in our current location.
We would need to be REAL careful and may be able to pull something out

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

While we wait for Tyler to chime in on die bump or not I have a question. If the answer is no do we want to keep playing or just restart? The loot comes at the end so while we might nab a loot card here or there due to defeated text or a spell, I think we would save several days if we skip the last few turns and start over.
Or maybe we are panicking over nothing. Rahali can prevent the damage to herself. Enora and Zarlova could roll well. Grazzle isn't taking damage. This could be a mere 10 damage or so.

Link to Deck Handler ; Cleric 6 ; Looking For: Spell 6 -> Spell 6 -> Blessing 6 -> Ally 6 -> Item 6 -> Armor 6

We back!

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

So we are starting over. Do we want to find another player or go on with 3?

Link to Deck Handler ; Cleric 6 ; Looking For: Spell 6 -> Spell 6 -> Blessing 6 -> Ally 6 -> Item 6 -> Armor 6

The card game scales pretty well. Should be fine with 3.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

I won't be able to post starting until tomorrow

The Concordance

Deck handler link

Rahali

Assuming Grazzle will take the Spell 3 as Rahali got the Spell 4 last time. If No one wants it, I would be keen for the Spell 3

Also assuming we should spread out as we won't have the blanket damage reduction from last time. I think one at each of
Ghoul Square
Walled Oasis
Scorched Ruins

Scenario boon 1 or 20: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Oh. Even though it was a loss, we still get to roll for a reward.

4-4E

Zarlova might want the spell 3.

Female gnome Arcanist | Tier 4.5

final reward?: 1d20 ⇒ 2

The Concordance

Deck handler link

@Grazzle - suggest you don't be so aggressive in exploring this time. We only need to defeat <1.5 cards a turn to get through the seige deck.
Better to hold on to good blessings to support others when they hit an unexpected bad bane. Particularly Blessings of Abadar

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

Not sure what you mean. I literally drew 7 new cards then a spell of my choice. I can't help that none of them were blessings. Are you suggesting I just hold blessings? How many? Which ones should I use and which ones do you want me to hold on to? If it is just Abadar that is why I searched for Find Traps.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

I am just suggesting being a little conservative e.g. in your last explore, what if it had been something that had been immune to your Eruption or a nasty barrier going against your weaknesses. With only 3 characters time no longer becomes an issue, being able to support weak checks does.
With a seige deck we get punished in we hit a bane we don't defeat so the penalty for being over optimistic is high.
I know Grazzle has only 1 ally base, so maybe only use 1/2 your blessings for explore that way you are always going into an encounter with at least one blessing and we have support for other peoples checks

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

I'll keep it in mind. But I can churn through a lot of my deck pretty fast.
I did just realize that I forgot to do my wisdom when I fixed my deck handler after the last game. Fixed now.
If either of you are unsure about advancing Grazzle can recharge his Armor of the Sands to examine for you.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

Its not some much about how fast you churn through your deck, it is about what happens if you hit a bane that you are weak against e.g. in the last game you had one attack spell, no blessings and the bane was immune to your spell.

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

The problem last game was't that the bird was immune to my spell. It was that it was immune to every spell in my deck. One of the times I faced it I had Channel the Gift in hand and no spells in my deck that were not Fire. Holding on to a blessing would not have helped with that. I do have a non fire spell this time.

Holding a blessing would have meant an extra dice on the combat check. As it was you failed by 3. An extra die would have made the difference

I will be at Dragon Con this weekend. It starts officially about 48 hours from this post and lasts til Monday. I am not doing too much there but there could potentially be an outage from me.

If anyone else is there, I will be wearing the nametag "Yiroep (GM Andrew)."

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

Rahali, Let's not focus too much on past results. I use up a lot of my hand and may draw blessings at the end of my turn. I'm not bugging you or Zarlova for not having spare blessings in hand for me to use.

We are doing fine and it is your turn to face one of the fire immune monsters.

Link to Deck Handler ; Cleric 6 ; Looking For: Spell 6 -> Spell 6 -> Blessing 6 -> Ally 6 -> Item 6 -> Armor 6

Sometimes bad things happen, and sometimes poor decisions are made. Sometimes you can prevent them and sometimes you can't. The nature of the game is that bad rolls happen and bad situations happen.

Don't think it's a huge deal. I've lost many a scenario in the card game before. Let's just focus on getting it finished this time... now that we have Paizo's blessing of being up for more than 8 hours.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

OK, I hear what you are saying and accept it. just saying that we have a smaller number of players and a seige deck. Slightly more conservative play is a good way to go...

Link to Deck Handler ; Cleric 6 ; Looking For: Spell 6 -> Spell 6 -> Blessing 6 -> Ally 6 -> Item 6 -> Armor 6

Dragon con in full swing for me. Posting will be very sporadic.

The Concordance

Deck handler link

Damn! Elemental Arachnid :-(
two instances of unblocked damage got through and I had to recharge all of my items just in case I failed the combat
Would appreciate a heal 1 to allow me to reshuffle my items as they are my major boost vs banes (+1d4 +AD#)

My goal is to play this character in the PbP special. Don't know if we want to stop or keep going, but just wanted everyone to know my plans. Either way, had a blast with all this, even if I found out I'm not a huge fan of Siege. ;)

The Concordance

Deck handler link

Agreed, not a fan of Siege :-)
Happy to keep playing. I am in a lower tier table for the special so will be using one of my other characters

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

Same. And I think the special is October 6th.

Grazzle's Deck Desired loot Blessing 4

I don't know what scenario this is for Grazzle. How many have we played in this thread?

This is the 5th successful scenario we've run.

4-4E Reward

Then I will wait to level up.
