Scenario 2B-1A Rewards: POOG

Potion of Fortitude, Dogfinder and Flybreath were banished during the scenario. Poog has 2 empty item slots and an empty ally slot.

For Poog's Skill Feat, he will check off Wisdom [X]+1.

For Poog's Card Upgrades, my preferences are as follows:

  • Blessing 1: Replace Blessing of the Gobs for Blessing of Hadregash (Goblins Burn)
  • Blessing 1: Replace Blessing of the Gobs for Blessing of Bark Breaker (Goblins Burn)
  • Item 1: Replace Potion of Fortitude for Wand of Detect Magic (Ultimate Magic Add-On)
  • Weapon 1: Replace Walking Stick for Flaming Heavy Pick +1 (Goblins Burn)
  • Armor B: Replace Tussah Silk Coat for Armor of the Sands (Ultimate Magic Add-On)

For Poog's Loot Choices, I have an interest in the Goblin Plate +1 loot card if I end up with the Blessing of Bark Breaker in my deck. Otherwise no interest in the Loot cards for now.

Blessing of Hadregash:

Recharge this card to explore your location; 1 Fire damage is dealt to a random character at your location.

As an FYI I'll be out of town this evening through Sunday evening (EST, -5GMT). I should have intermittent access to Hangouts for questions but won't be able to make post updates. Hopefully you can still get a few turns in before needing an update!

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

As previously mentioned in Hangouts.

I'm afraid that I'll be travelling for much of this weekend, with unreliable access to Internet (or an appropriate device in general). From about Friday 4am EST to Sunday 7am EST I will likely be unable to post much, if at all. If botting a turn for me is required to move the game forward, then any player or the GM may do so, though I will endeavor to post as soon as I'm back.

Box Runner

Hey all, Just a heads up on this scenario Poog/Yewstance is correct that by the rules that the order of closing is
Henchman Poison Trap -> Close Check -> Bandit;

HOWEVER, we've confirmed the intention with those who wrote the scenario and the intention of the proper order is
Henchman Poison Trap -> Bandit -> Close Check.

So going forward I'm changing the scenario rules to say "After you encounter the henchman Poison Trap and before you attempt to close the location, summon and encounter the henchman Bandit."

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

I was under the impression that Lamashtu’s Bauble was the promocard you got access to for beating Season otGobs. I’m 90% sure including it in the deck is a database error (like including the barrier rusty ear-biter last session.)

Edit: Also totally okay that you healed yourself Poog. I forgot that the quick Change mask can heal allies from my discard pile. And hey, you got your heal-ey stick back!

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

@BR Redux, I believe I also acquired a second Blessing of Lamashtu by burying a BotGobs while closing the old light.

As for deck upgrades, I know I was selfish last time and took both a weapon and Item 1. This time I'll let others choose first. I do plan on upgrading of of my blessings to blessing of Hadregash (sweet sweet recharge if top blessing is basic), but since we have a metric boatload of b blessing upgrades, I don't foresee that being a problem. I could also use on of the blessings 1 to

For armors I could take the Buckler Gun, for the Item 1, the Emerald of Dex, I don't have much for the Items B, But for the blessings 1 could get my bark breaker.

I guess my choices are Blessing B->Blessing 1->Armor B. But again, mark me as low priority

As for Power Feats:
Aric/Not-Scribbleface: will take the power that lets him change into Red Raven/Scribbleface on examine.

Red Raven/Scribbleface: Will take the power that lets him change into Aric/Not-Scribbleface on examine

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

Scenario 2B-1B Rewards: POOG

Poog Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Dogfinder and Flybreath were banished during the scenario. Poog has an empty item slot and an empty ally slot.

Also, on one of my early turns I handed Potion of Fortitude off to Reepazo (which was botted), and it was never actually added to her hand, it just vanished into nothingness. That actually really sucks if I take an Item upgrade, because I really wanted the Potion of Fortitude banished so I'm not forced to replace my Dogfinder if I take an item upgrade.

For Poog's Power Feat, he will check off:
"Add 1d6 ([X] +1) to your check that invokes the Animal or Fire trait."

For Poog's Card Upgrades, my preferences are as follows:

  • Item 1: Replace Potion of Fortitude (Actually, the empty Item Slot, so Dogfinder) for Wand of Detect Magic (Ultimate Magic Add-On)
  • Armor B: Replace Tussah Silk Coat for Armor of the Sands (Ultimate Magic Add-On)
  • Blessing B: Replace Blessing of the Gobs for Blessing of Lamashtu (Goblins Burn!)

For Poog's Loot Choices, I have an interest in the Blessing of Zogmugot and Blessing of Zarongel 'loot' Blessings...

...but I think the Blessing of Zarongel is actually best suited going to someone else. He invokes fire and animals all the time, but Poog prefers other people to play blessings on his checks so I get to heal whoever offers. Blessing of Zogmugot is much more selfish, though, and probably will run kind of well with Poog. Thoughts?

Also: Does Blessing of Zogmugot only work with Blessing of the Gods, or does it recharge off any basic blessing, like Blessing of the Gobs? Note that almost every single instance of "if the top card of the blessings discard pile is Blessing of the Gods/Blessing of Ascension" has been retroactively erratad to "any basic blessing" (see: Imrijka, Lycanthropes, etc), but I cannot find a strict confirmation of this.

Wand of Detect Magic:
Traits
Wand
Magic
Arcane
Divine

Powers
During your turn, bury this card to examine the top card of your location deck. If the card is a blessing or has the Magic trait, you may immediately encounter it.

After playing this card, succeed at an Arcane or Divine 6 check to recharge this card instead of burying it.

Traits
Light Armor
Clothing
Magic
Arcane
Divine
Elite

Powers
Recharge this card to reduce Acid, Cold, Combat, or Electricity damage dealt to you by 2.

Recharge this card to add 1d4 to your Arcane or Divine check.

Banish this card to reduce Acid, Cold, Combat, or Electricity damage dealt to to 0; if procient with light armos, bury it instead. You may succeed at an Arcane or Divine 12 check to recharge it instead

Box Runner

@Poog, Sorry I missed the potion of fortitude hand-over. Though Reepazo never would've had a chance to use it even if she kept it in hand. So I don't think it changes the outcome here. Poog probably should've held onto it and went to Treacherous Cave to banish it?

updated deck upgrade list added another blessing 1. anything else i missed?
Magic Leather Armor (Armor B)

Blessing of Torag (Blessing B) **reward**
Blessing of Lamashtu (Blessing 1) **reward**
Blessing of Lamashtu (blessing1) **scribbleface acquired this with BotGobs**
Blessing of Erastil (Blessing B) **Reepazo acquired this with BotGobs on last turn**
Blessing of Bark Breaker (Blessing 1) **Reward**
Blessing of Iomedae (Blessing B) *Scribbleface acquired this with BotGobs on last turn**

Staff of Minor Healing (Item 1)
Spyglass (Item B)
Thieve's Tools (Item B) **This is the replacement random card I drew for Lamashtu’s Bauble**

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

Yeah, I note there was never the chance to banish it anyway. My fault for lack of foresight on that.

Box Runner

I wasn't able to find any errata for BoZogmugot. I think we'll need to keep it as written. Note that there's still about 1:4 ratio of BotGods to BotGobs in the box

Deck Handler

Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 16

Power Feat: Dex +1

Upgrades: Item B, Blessing 1, Blessing B

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

Looks like we all get what we want. I get Blessing 1 and B (BoHadregash and Achaekek), Reepazo gets Item B and blessing 1, and Poog gets Item 1 and Armor B

Uh, though Reepazo? Dex+1 is a Skill Feat, you need a power feat.

I guess I'll start on the ship if Reepazo and Poog are going to start at the stables.

I'm also going to re-take the SWEET DRAGON COSTUME unless someone else wants it.

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

As far as I can tell, nobody at all has expressed interest in the 'loot' blessings besides me? That surprises me, but I'll take both if nobody else takes any.

Note that Blessing of Zarongel works great on a large quantity of checks made by Poog (He's a follower of Zarongel, after all), but as already mentioned it's more valuable to the team as a whole when characters beside Poog bless his checks.

I only have 3 blessings in my deck, and I just upgraded 2 of them. I want to save the third for a BotGobs so I can steal at least one blessing from the blessing's pile and acquire more blessings.

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

I didn't think there'd be more Blessing 1s that you'd want, but fair enough!

Yes, sorry! I'll take hand size 5.

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

Hello my dear box runners and players!

I’d first like to say thank you so much for participating in the first Cards Against Gnomanity event. It’s truly been a fantastic showing by our burgeoning online community, and the box runners should be commended for putting up with a system that is still having some major wrinkles ironed out.

Cards Against Gnomanity officially ends this coming Sunday, August 12th, at 11:59 PM Eastern time. If you have a game ongoing that you’d like to continue past this time, that’s fine with us, but any game that ends after 11:59 will not be counted as being part of this event. However, we have another event that is starting up RIGHT AFTER this one! I’m talking about Play-By-Post Gameday VII. This event will include the multi-table special Assault on Absalom in slot 2, which runs from October 1st-November 12th. As of this moment, there are two slots left at tables for that special on the ACG side, so if you haven’t signed up yet, go check out the Specials Sign-up Sheet.

If you plan to continue a game and would like sessions reported between August 13th and September 30th to count as part of GameDay VII (and therefore be eligible for ACG boon rolls), please email me at cartmanbeck@orgplayonline.com with your screenname, the link to the paizo.com forum thread where you’re running the game, and the game number in the ACG online database BEFORE Cards Against Gnomanity ends on Sunday night.

When the first slot of GameDay VII ends on September 30th, if you are running or playing in any tables of Assault on Absalom, I will ask that you try to wrap up as many of your tables as possible in order to free up time and energy to devote to the Assault on Absalom run. We want this to be a huge success! Andrew (Hawkmoon 269) will be the lead for this event, so if you have questions about how it will run, email him at hawkmoon269@orgplayonline.com.

As of now, I’m seeing 75 sessions of ACG in our reporting sheet for Cards Against Gnomanity (I’ll note that I’m behind on reporting a few sessoins myself, but will get that taken care of later today). If you have not yet filled out the reporting sheet for your games, PLEASE do so as soon as possible! Reporting Sheet

Once the event ends and we've confirmed that all sessions have been added to the reporting sheet, I'll be doing a drawing for a small number of paizo.com gift certificates. Each player and box runner will have one chance at getting these, so it doesn't matter how many games you played, you have an equal shot. I'll also be looking over the total number of convention rewards/boons that we gave out to see how close to 10% we got... if the random number generator was a bit greedy, I may randomly hand out a few more of those as well.

Thank you all again, and feel free to email me with questions.

Tyler (Box Runner Nalshene/Cartmanbeck)

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

So I take it this session will be ending after this last game? Too bad, I was really having fun with the whole Scribbleface/not-Scribbleface mechanic. Maybe I’ll see if I can join someone else’s PbP for season of the Goblins and pick up where I left off.

I do want to thank everyone for the great time that I did have! And thanks for playing along with my silly idea as Red Raven being Scribbleface!

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

I'm up for continuing as long as there's interest (We just no longer get boons, or rather, we get different boons from Gameday), but we'd need our BR Redeux to want to continue too.

As mentioned in Hangouts, I feel this was a tiny bit unfair for Scribbleface, because this adventure went very slowly compared to all of my other tables. Both other tables I participated in for the event finished Adventure 1 by now.

IIRC redux said he (or she? Only thought he because of the Avatar) wasn’t interested in box running past cards against gnomanity because they had other stuff to do. Totally understandable BTW.

Box Runner

he is correct. I go by Ray

I was also hoping for us to be making quicker progression and I'm happy for us to continue for gameday session 1. During session 2 there is the ACG Special and I'll likely need to put this table on hold during that time (Oct 1 - Nov 12). After that time I can re-evaluate my time obligations. I was really wanting us to get through the whole adventure path so I'll do what I can to make sure we get at least that far.

If anyone is wanting to drop-off then that is totally okay too. It sounds like at least Poog and Scribbleface are wanting to continue. If Reepazo wants to drop then I have a character who is at the same spot and can join in so the table still has 3 players.

As is, I have listed this game to continue for GameDay session 1. If anyone plans on dropping just let me know before the end of this scenario.

Cheers

Uh, Poog? I explored twice on my turn, so I got the BotGods. Might wanna re-work your turn.

Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 7 nope

Deck Handler // Searching For: Spell 2 > Blessing 2 > Ally 2

Scenario 2B-1C Rewards: POOG

The last CaG Boon chance: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Potion of Fortitude and Flybreath were banished during the scenario. Poog has an empty item slot and an empty ally slot.

For Poog's Card Upgrades, my preferences are as follows:

  • Spell 1: Replace Cure for Pyrotechnic Blast (Ultimate Magic Add-On)
  • Weapon 1: Replace Walking Stick for Flaming Heavy Pick +1 (Goblins Burn!)
  • Blessing B: Replace Blessing of the Gobs for Blessing of Lamashtu (Goblins Burn!)

Either way, Poog brings Dogfinder back in, since he's got an empty item slot, and re-adds Flybreath.

For Poog's Loot Choices, I have an interest in the Goblin Buckler Gun (instead of the Goblin Plate +1), but I'll leave it to someone else if they desire. Poog has awful Dexterity, but gets an extra 1d6+1 with it (because fire) and it lets me resist the fire damage caused by my Blessing of Bark Breaker.

The loot blessings are still on offer to other players; I don't feel like Poog's necessarily the best user of them, but he will keep them if nobody else will.

Hello! Welcome to Play By Post Gameday VII. As part of the festivities for this event, we have a few rewards you can win. After your table completes a scenario, win or lose, each participant (player and/or box runner) rolls 1d20. If your result is 1 or 20, you win. Select your reward from the list below and inform your Box Runner of your choice. We’ll make sure you get the reward sent to you.

Remember, Session 1 runs from August 13th, 2018-September 30, 2018. Your table must complete the scenario between those dates to roll for a reward. During Session II (October 1-November 12th) we’ll be running the multiple table interactive special Assault on Absalom.

Box Runners: If you have any questions about how to report, please contact me.

Have fun!

I don’t really have much interest in any of the loot. Automatic unlock for 2d4 fire damage sounds Terrible.

Depends. If you have Sweet Dragon Costume in hand, it's just an auto-defeat, since that removes fire damage from you. If you have most normal armor, it reads "bury and armor and this" to defeat a barrier. Or if you run on few cards in hand.

I know some of my RotR teams would have killed for that card in AD6 when we seemed to endlessly hit Avalanches that nobody in the team had more than a d8 to defeat, and that barrier can basically freeze up the entire game until SOMEONE defeats it, as it remains on top. Awful stuff.

But yeah, not really good for this team. If only we had a Radovan player with immunity to fire.

Also, I don't know if you want to report this or you want me to, but technically (and I do mean "technically"), the text for several of the Goblin promo cards are wrong. Based on the underscores, I assume they're from the official database.

It is my understanding - having helped out with transcribing, in fact - that an underscore represents a paragraph break. Unfortunately, paragraph breaks are mechanically relevant rule text, to the point in which the rulebook determines that a card has "Multiple Powers", and where one power ends in relation to another, in part based on separation of paragraphs.

So the following:
"For your combat check, bury this card to use your Dexterity or Ranged skill + 1d8 and add the Fire and Ranged traits; this counts as playing a weapon instead of an armor_ You may additionally choose to be dealt 2 Fire Damage to add another 1d8_ Recharge this card to reduce Combat or Fire damage dealt to you by 2_ If you are proficient with light armors, you may play another armor on this check_"

Becomes:
"For your combat check, bury this card to use your Dexterity or Ranged skill + 1d8 and add the Fire and Ranged traits; this counts as playing a weapon instead of an armor

You may additionally choose to be dealt 2 Fire Damage to add another 1d8

Recharge this card to reduce Combat or Fire damage dealt to you by 2

If you are proficient with light armors, you may play another armor on this check"

Firstly, the lack of periods, whilst not mechanically relevant, are going to make it look ugly when the database (or its front end, at least) is updated to replace underscores with actual line breaks. Secondly, it kind of implies that the card has 4 powers, when it only has 2. More specifically, paragraphs 2 and 4 technically have no meaning, because they only work when used in conjunction with a previous paragraph, which should be a different power RAW.

Again, this is really a technicality; I don't know of a single player who would not understand that paragraphs 2 and 4 are clearly in relation to the previous sentences, but it does violate RAW.

Notifying the team of a resource I've made (or modified, more accurately).

I've created a "Party Sheet" or "Party Deck Handler" for us, based on a spreadsheet originally built by Maelwys0, a player on another table I'm a part of. It imports data from each of our Deck Handlers so, with one sheet, we can see everyone's notes, hands and deck sizes.

This is purely a convenience sheet; you may ignore it or refer to it as you choose; this just saves you from having to scroll up and down a page to see what cards are in everybody's hands and what you have available to use on your checks. It'll also automatically highlight Blessings that the party have.

Let me know if it's helpful to any of you, and if you'd like me to add in any more features or highlighting rules! If anyone else thinks they'll want to refer to it actively, we can ask to have it placed in the campaign header.

So I think we literally got NO 1 boons from that last adventure. For my deck upgrade I think I’ll choose blessing (I have no more allies that examine then explore). I’m going to take blessing of the spy.

I know I acquired two weapon Bs, So I think I’ll trade out my punching dagger for a sword cane, unless there’s another suggestion.

Box Runner

Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Hey everyone! Great Job! So I am willing to run through Adventure 2 but here's a few considerations:

1. One of the other Goblins tables has 6 players and is finishing up AD1 (About halfway through last scenario). Their Box Runner will not be continuing onto AD2. This means if we want to wait, we could choose to take on 1-3 more players. Your call here.

2. I won't have computer or internet access from 9/14 to 9/25.

3. Few days later, Gameday slot 2 starts and will go from Oct 1 to Nov 12 (this might be bumped back a few days with the Paizo forums downtime, but regardless, the special will be going for approximately a month and a half). We've been asked to freeze games during this time so that the ACG Special can be top priority. If you have not already signed up for the special, please go here, Click her link, and go to the "session2" tab. There you will find an "ACG WAITLIST". Add your name there. We will be finalizing the tables soon. Note that due to the nature of the Specials, these tables will be playing at a rapid rate so you'll be needing to post within the 24 hour timeframe at a bare minimum. More availability is better. When stages of the special "advance" then it's possible that an ACG table could stop in the middle of the scenario if you have been moving too slowly as a group

So with all of that in mind, please let me know your preferences.
Will all of you be wanting to do AD2?
Do we want to take on any extra players? If so, how many?
Would you like to wait and get a few more players, or start as soon as this group is ready?

Regardless of what we decide, it's fairly safe to say we'll be taking a break for almost all of Sept 14 to Nov 12

Willing to continue, willing to take on more ppl. I have a BUNCH of PbP going on right now, so going to bow out of the ACG multi-table. I’ll catch the next one.

I'm interested in continuing and am happy to take on more players. It may be worth pointing out to any newcomers that this is a pretty slow-moving table even without the forum downtime, however; though more players may make it a bit faster (more likelihood of a sequence of people posting in a 24 hour slot). That might impact people's decisions.

According to emails I've received as a GM to one of the ACG specials; the special has been pushed back to start on October the 6th... admittedly, they weren't ACG-specific instructions, nor from the ACG authority (Tyler) specifically.

Anyway, I'm happy playing a party of any size, I'm interested in continuing and I have no strong preference as to how long to wait before continuing. If you think we can get a full 6 players (and if you have no opposition to playing with a team of that size) then I have a preference for waiting a little longer to ensure everyone gets a chance to join in, rather than rushing and shunting people out in the process.

I’m with Poog/Yewstance. I just want to role play Scribbleface as much/with as many people as possible
