Tesson |
Tesson attacks the black guy once again. "You gonna die or wut?" he politely asks. He accepts then the raging song.
Mighty Magical Tankard, song, flank: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 15
for Blugeonning, song: 1d3 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 6 and Electricity: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 5) = 15
The shocking grasp stays until he actually hits.
After that, a spirit comes to attack black as well. or another if black is down...
Lost Soul vs black, flank: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 = 25

Mercutio Menschjaeger |
[dice=Negative energy]1d4+6
I hate to be a Negative (or perhaps under the circumstances, Net-Positive) Nancy, but where does that +6 come from? At best, it's +4, and that's only if the DM is willing to let you apply MY Charisma modifier to your Lost Soul attack, rather than your own (-2).
Also, what I offer is more a sinister euphoria rather than a 'rage.'
Tesson |
Oh, indeed! I posted too quickly, it seems, and applied the bonus to hit to the damage. GM please retrieve 2 from the spirit's damage.
As for the RAW concerning the rage power, there is no debate or GM ruling: it clearly states we use your modifier.
When starting an inspired rage, the skald chooses which rage powers (if any) to add to the song, and all affected allies gain the benefit of these rage powers, using the skald’s level as their effective barbarian level. The skald uses his skald level as his barbarian level for the purpose of selecting rage powers that require a minimum barbarian level. If the rage power’s effects depend on the skald’s ability modifier (such as lesser spirit totem APG), affected allies use the skald’s ability modifier instead of their own for the purposes of this effect.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"They just don't make cultists the way they used to."
Abaal keeps an eye out for in the hall for anymore attackers.
Anibal Ibarr |
"Oh, you have experience with the local cults, Abaal? Anything noteworthy?", Anibal's interest seems piqued as Abaal mentions possible cultists in his past.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"Search the bodies. I will stand watch at the doorway."
"Oh, you have experience with the local cults, Abaal? Anything noteworthy?", Anibal's interest seems piqued as Abaal mentions possible cultists in his past.
"Have you ever heard of the Cult of Abraxus?"
Tesson |
Tesson sighs. "Now I can resume drinking. Anyone... Mercutio, do you mind poking me lightly with my wand?"
ILW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
Mercutio stares at Tesson's wand, displays a rare frown, and hands it over to Artic Fox.
The inflict wounds line is not on my list; I'll be the first to call it a bummer.
GM William |
as you look arounf this room you see nothing of note. moving into the next room you see a pool that shines with otherworldly energy. what appears
before them—first in place of their reflections,
then as an entity in three dimensions rising
from the water—is as stunning as it is
unmistakable. With eyes like starlight and
voluminous hair full of secrets, the dark
and striking woman who seems to bend
all attention and space in genuflection to
her is none other than Roidira herself.
As she materializes, she looks at each
you in turn, her solar eyes almost
painful to meet; then, she speaks.
“Welcome, supplicants. I am
Roidira. You have walked my
Road and now, at last, you are
ready to drink from this most
perilous of cups. Answer my
questions truthfully, with an
open mind, and you shall be
rewarded with the greatest gift in the planes:
my Enlightenment. Fail, and wander forever in
the darkness of the ignorance you laughably call ‘wisdom.’”
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
Perform (Sing) in lieu of Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Though Mercutio's senses are preternaturally honed to read the secrets of voice, breath and muscle, this...entity is not giving him an easy time of it.
Anibal Ibarr |
"Cult of Abraxus?", Anibal ponders, stroking his chin. "It doesn't ring a bell. I have been rotting out Kismet's Grasp members, but they are more of a band of thieves than a cult. Anything interesting about them?"
Once the figure raises out of the pool, Anibal eyes it with suspicion.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
"A riddle? Really?", he scoffs. "Ask your questions, then."
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"Ask your questions, then."
Abaal grunts his seconding of the motion.
Tesson |
Tesson thanks Arctic Fox, not quite getting why the healing doesn't come the wand. He mentally shrugs and moves on with the others.
Seeing the divine entity, he wonders out loud. "oh crap, I wanted to meet Claryden Caydilar, my god! Such sadness for a priest never to meet his god." he says, drinking more from one of his tankard.
Ready for the questions as well ^^
Tesson |
Tesson raises his tankard.
"Yeahhh. One time I was drunk and I sort of saw a guy in armor un' blades say to me dat I was chosen for some kinda quest. So, I guess it's Kladeer Caylanar! Datz why I fight only whyz hiz favored weapons: tankard and ale!"
Of course he's not, but Tesson really think his arcane powers come from worshiping Cayden Cailean ^^
Anibal Ibarr |
"That's...", Anibal consider his next words. "...pretty vague? To base such a big life choice on, I mean."
He shrugs. "Each to their own, I suppose. As long as you are satisfied with your decision, Tesson."
Tesson |
"Whatev'. He provides drinks and cool magic powers. Seen how I can get my tankard sparkle? So nice! I can chill dudes as well." he says, smiling widely, blinking his eyes a few times.
"I got to study a lot to learn da prayers though. There all in this book." he says, waving a spellbook.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"Wait wait...", Anibal responds abruptly - "you are a priest? I would never have guessed."
"Well, I'm not a priest per say. More of a lay scholar, really. Though I have partaken in several religious festivities--as a sort of anthropological study, where I had the opportunity to kill several priests, so I do believe that there some useful insights that can drawn from my life experiences."
After a moment he adds: "Sorry, I thought you meant me. May I see your book?"
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"I know. I prefer brush finish tankards myself. It hides the scratches better." Abaal says seriously.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"It's probably some rubbish like: What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three legs in the evening." Abaal says regarding the riddle.
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
"Oh! Oh, and one time in this cave I ran into this halfling thief who asked me what he had in his pocket. I mean really. What sort of riddle was that?"
GM Emmjay |
GM Emmjay here. I am going to be taking over this campaign for you, at least to allow you to finish up. Doing a quick look at what is going on, you guys are playing HIGH Tier, and are on the part of the interrogation where Roidira is questioning you.
You can sense that while the magic here is powerful, it emanates from no known source, and its nature is elusive. The goddess projects a distinct presence, yet her form is insubstantial.
“What must every good Roidiran say before calling upon my power in prayer or speaking an incantation? More importantly, why must you do so?”
“There is no presence; there is absence. There is no meaning; there is only knowledge.”
Hint: She is looking for a "weighty" answer, DC 26 Diplomacy check and /or dc 20 Know(Religion) as well to answer correctly
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
"Tread carefully here," Mercutio quietly advises the others. "For those of you who came here expecting this all to be rooted in common chicanery - naming no names - I fear you're in for quite a disappointment in that regard."
Knowledge (Religion) I: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Mercutio answers the entity: “'There is no presence; there is absence. There is no meaning; there is only knowledge.'”
"That is to say, I think, all things ultimately come from the primordial void of Chaos - as to why: Why not? To be is not to desire; rather, to desire is to be. The rules that say 'thou cannot' came much later, and those saying 'thou shalt not' are more juvenile still. Things are what they are, and need no justification, nor purpose. Countless lives are spent - and reaped - for the sake of knowing, or at least claiming to know, why. Those lives are all quite wasted. For all that it may be a cruel joke, is being not nonetheless preferable to non-being?"
Knowledge (Religion) II: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
GM Emmjay |
“Good. Thus you have learned the true significance of emptiness. Tell
me, as a good Roidiran, then, do you believe in nothing?”
I am not going to give the spoiler here, I want to see what your answer(s) are. Only if you get stuck will I put in the hints...
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
"But of course! Nothing is sacred! Nothing lasts forever! Nothing is worth fighting for!"
Tesson |
Tesson looks at Roidira, then Mercutio, then Roidira, then Mercutio and wipes his eyes.
"What if all you're trying to say is that you don't actually exist and all belief in yourself is vain?" says Tesson, burping a little from the ale he just drank after the end of the previous fight.
GM Emmjay |
"In other words, giving up on all other beliefs is itself a kind of belief? She simply nods, smiles, and carries on.
“Now for my final question: is true knowledge even possible?”
Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh |
Abaal secretly begins wishing for a pair of immortal guardians to appear so that he might ask one: "If I were to ask your friend here which of those two doors is the exit what would they say?"
Tesson |
Tesson squints his eyes, looking at Mercutio.
"You're trying to say that, even though you believe in nothing, you're ready to give up your belief as a way to show your belief? This is beginning to be difficult for me..."
Mercutio Menschjaeger |
“Now for my final question: is true knowledge even possible?”
Mercutio raises an eyebrow. Rarely, if ever, have any of you seen such an eyebrow-raising.
"It depends on what the definition of the word 'is' is."
Anibal Ibarr |
Anibal raises an eyebrow. "Actually, the definition of this...", he makes air quotes with his fingers Dr. Evil style, "true knowledge, more like it."
