[Rewinding a bit]

Nathaniel lets out an exasperated sigh. "Fine, we can escort him across town, it will at least give us an opportunity to learn the layout a bit. Besides, who really wants to engage with five (6?) armed men?"

[To the present]

Nathaniel's eyes widen at the sight of the fiends standing at the woman's side, and harden as she offers her ultimatum and burns Omara. Turning to his companions Nathaniel whispers "Fine mess we have got ourselves into now. I don't see that we have any choice at this point but to accept, since I'm doubting we walk out of here without agreeing."

A look of horror crosses Zeb's face. He is obviously on edge and he snarls at the woman.

I won't kill anyone for you, murderess!

He looks around the room frantically, hoping to size up the odds that he and his newfound companions could help this man but he begins to lose hope looking at the 8 guards, two fiends, and woman with arcane power of some sort.

He mutters to Orym

I won't be killing anyone for this witch but I don't think we can do anything for that poor man. What do you think?

Orym looks to Zeb, "Killing over fruit is an affront to any justice. Risking death for fruit seems a fool thing to do. We showed our kindess. He got no mercy."

Do you wish to follow the man to the executioner's run, try to talk to the guards, or give up and leave him for dead.

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Not expecting the guards of such a foul "justice system" to listen to reason, Zeb follows.

The least we can do is keep him from dying alone. I look my failures in the eye.

Male Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) 1, AC 18, HP 11/11, Passive Perception 14, Init +2

Sorry my post seemed slightly off, but DM's "dismissed" post was not showing for me at the time, so I was only reacting to the earlier post.

"Gods damn it Zeb!" Nathaniel curses, "This is exactly what we were trying to avoid. Now we are ankle deep in this s+&~, and sinking fast. Let's get out of here while that is still an option."

Zeb, what god do you worship, any obvious holy symbols/signs/etc? As for the guy, let's get out of here, then we can decide what to do quickly without evil lady looking over our shoulders.

LOL, Paizo has a language filter.

Male Human (variant) Barbarian level-1

Ambooku will head towards the Executioner's Run. Maybe those with better skill might try to talk with the guards?
What do I know about the Executioners Run? Where/when is it, are there rules or betting? Does anyone ever make it out alive?

DM Greaek wrote:

"Guys, back me up."

Runs after the guards.

"Guards, the ladyship has changed her mind. You are to release the prisoner now."

Casts Friends

Deception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Deception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

21 it is

If that releases the guys, he quitely tells him to run.

Seraphiel also runs.

Ok, Ambooku do you try to stay with the group or try to cut them off at the executioner's run and generally people don't survive the executioner run, two starved velociraptors with a meal in sight tend to move quicker than a normal person
Nate you guys had gotten out at this point
Seraphiel do you wait for a resonse from any party members or do you just say that and go right away

Seraphiel moves swiftly, not waiting for back up.

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Zeb hopes that Seraphiel's last ditch attempt will work. He follows behind her, nodding confidently.

Deception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Nathaniel, Zeb is carrying a holy symbol with an oak leaf on it. I don't know how hard that would be to identify in character but Zeb wouldn't hide the fact that he worships Silvanus.

Male Human (variant) Barbarian level-1

Ambooku will try to get to the Executioner's Run first, ahead of the guards if possible. When I get there I want to check the layout, how long it is, entrance, exit(?), etc. It's it generally accepted that if you make it through that you are free? What do I know or can I find out about how this usually works?

Amookbu:
Ok, making it through, no matter the circumstances frees you, those are the rules. the run is about 120 feet, with the velociraptors in the middle
as you arrive you see someone being tossed into the mud, while a man who bears family resemblance is being held back by the guards, and is yelling HE DID NOT DO ANYTHING, HE IS INNOCENT you see corpses up in the trees, and the man starts to cower in the mud, trying to cover himself, while the 2 gaunt velociraptor's heads pop up and sniff in his direction.

Rest of the group:
The gaurds release him, and as you run the other guards say SON OF A B****, GET EM BOIS, and 4 chase after you, 4 go around to try to cut you off, roll initiative just to see how this is going to go

Male Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) 1, AC 18, HP 11/11, Passive Perception 14, Init +2

"Damn, damn, damn," Nathaniel curses under his breath as people begin to take off. Shaking his head, he takes off after Seraphiel and Zeb, unwilling to split the party up so easily.

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

This is deteriorating remarkably rapidly.

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Apparently, Zeb was totally unprepared for things to get crazy that fast.

Male Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) 1, AC 18, HP 11/11, Passive Perception 14, Init +2

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Yup, this went downhill real fast. Nathaniel is a little slow in reacting as well.

You guys might be running the run yourselves

And did it go downhill, or uphill because... ya this is going down hill fast.

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Crap!!!

Male Human (variant) Barbarian level-1

At the Executioner's Run:
Assuming Ambooku believes the family member that the victim is innocent:
Insight: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16

Ambooku hops in and interposes himself between the victim and the velociraptors. He orders the cowering man "Stand up! And RUN!" before hurling a javelin at the nearest velociraptor.

Not sure if I'm further than 30feet from the target, if so then the second d20 is in case I have disadvantage
javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 151d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Also assuming they are close enough to attack me within a round, Ambooku will enter into his rage

Executioner's Run:
You believe him, and you hop in, hitting with the javelin, and we will roll initiative, you hopping into your rage
Initiative for man: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Initiative for Raptors: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Male Human (variant) Barbarian level-1

Executioner's Run:
Initiative for Ambooku: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Executioner's run:
You sir are going first, they are about 30 feet ahead of you.

Male Human (variant) Barbarian level-1

At theExecutioner'sRun:
Ambooku runs up to the velociraptor he just impaled with a javelin, grasping the ship's tiller as a giant club.

Raged attack with great maul: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 182d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 2) + 5 = 11

He leaps the last few feet and lands his maul with a solid thud on top of the velociraptor's shoulder joint. I presume.

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Sorry I am totally lost as to whats going on. Ambooku went a head of us and is in the Run with the guy we were accompanying. However it looks like before the guards put the guy in the run Seraphiel tried to talk them out of it but his friends spell only worked on one target is my guess. And the guards want to get us now. Are we all in the Run with the guards and the dinos or is it just Ambooku in the Run.

No, he went by himself
So how it currently is is you guys and the dude are in goldenthrone, and can either fight them head on, or try to run and Amookbu is doing his thang at the executioner's run
Speaking of

Executioner's run:
The Velocirator's face twists in rage seing his mate downed, and attacks twice
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3.
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Wow it was nice knowing us. We're dead.

I thought we had left there and were on our way with Ambooku a little ahead. Seraphiel said he went after the guards to talk to them and they were taking the guy to Executioner's run. So we are still in the middle of the throne room with the 8 guards, the 2 incubi and whatever government official?

Is now the time in the sound track when "I fought the law and the law won starts to play?

Orym tenses up confused by the social system of civil folk. He mutters in giant like curses.

The man says to Orym If you want the chance to figure this out I'd probably run
And maybe, depends how you look at it

Male Firbolg NG Ranger 1 AC 14 HP 7/12 Passive Perception 15 Init +2 Proficency Bonus + 2 Current Picture of Orym

I figured we are in injustice so I don't know when it's my turn or if anyone else is running.

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Not sure if it's my turn or not. Also, not sure what we should do here.

Zeb whispers to Orym, Nathaniel, and Sera quickly.

This looks bad for us. Make a break for it and try to save this man?I'll guard our rear with my life if I have to.

Paladins might not survive long in Chult... but this is what Zeb would have done, especially given his lack of knowledge of how the culture works.

Male Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) 1, AC 18, HP 11/11, Passive Perception 14, Init +2

We left the wizard lady and the incubi to follow the guards who were taking the man to the Executioner's Run. Ambooku independently went ahead to the run to see if he could do anything there. The guy he is trying to save there is someone entirely different than we were dealing with - he is still here with the rest of us.

As for our situation, I don't think we are at 'turns' yet, even though we rolled initiative. Nathaniel doesn't want to be involved in the (attempted) killing of the lawful authorities in the city, which they seem to be. I say we run.

With the odds being what they are, Nathaniel grabs at Omara to get him moving, and shouts to the rest of the group "Run!", before he begins trying to get out of there.

Male Human (variant) Barbarian level-1

It wasn't clearly stated, but I believe you guys were some distance away from the room with the merchantress and the incubi when the fruit offender ran away from the guards. Greaek can clarify this, I'm sure.

At the Executioner's Run:
Ambooku unleashes a vicious, feral scream at the velociraptor as it's claws and teeth rake at his flesh. He seems to not be torn up as badly as one might expect from the attacks and he lunges with his ships tiller at the knee of the solo velociraptor...

Raged Great Maul Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 102d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 6) + 5 = 12

...which deftly hops over it.

Damage Reduction from my rage should drop the damage from those two velociraptor attacks to a 1 and a 2, leaving me at 12HP left. Where is the muddy victim? Has he made it near the exit yet?

If there a lot of people around

Spoiler:
I suggest we toss gold to create confusion.

Ok
Orym: 11 (But remember you have advantage, UA ranger)
Zeb:1
Guards: 7
Sera:6
Nate:9
Ok, ao we are in initiative order, even though we are not technically in combat
Orym is going first, and with his current knowledge it is up to him what to do

Wow Sorry. My wife's kindle "fixed" my spelling. That should read "in initiative" not "injustice." Sorry for the confusion.

[ooc]I am full of apologies today. I thought when the DM said we are in "Goldenthrone" that we were still in the throne room. Okay so. Ambooku is trying to help some other poor soul at Executioner's Run. We are walking with the guy and the guards toward the run but our efforts to convince the guards to let the guy go worked against us.[ooc]

Forgot to role advantage on init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Round 1 Maybe

Orym is shaken out of his haze by Nathaniel's suggestion nods and turns to flee. Passing Zeb he pulls him by the shoulder, "Run. If we need to fight we stand and fall together. They might not be up for the chase. At least one has to remain with the prisoner." He pulls at Zeb's arm more as part of the suggestion than forcing him. As he moves away he draws his scimitar and sickle just in case.

Also I would love to know the answer to Seraphiel's question as to if it is really crowded.

It is pretty crowded, this is the main place to go to buy wares so that would definitely work

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Ochrona yells to the prisoner, who was let loose by one of the guards at least for a brief moment

Run for it!

And takes off with Orym, Nathaniel, and Sera.

The man already caught up with you, and is running

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Zeb pulls out his Halberd in case of trouble but starts making a break for it.

Male Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) 1, AC 18, HP 11/11, Passive Perception 14, Init +2

Nathaniel runs with the rest of the band, only readying his shield in case it is needed.

Ok, you guys run the guards keeping pace with you

Male Firbolg NG Ranger 1 AC 14 HP 7/12 Passive Perception 15 Init +2 Proficency Bonus + 2 Current Picture of Orym

Orym is not street savy enough to think about dumping his money as Seraphiel suggested. However if it was suggested in character or Seraphiel did it and it caused a rush of crowd between us and the guards. Orym would empty his entire pouch.

Seraphiel wastes no time and pulls a pouch containing some (around 10 gp worth of coin in various denominations) money and empties the contents with the intent of attracting the attention of beggars and other vagrants. "Money for the taking!!! Come and get it!!!"

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Zeb throws the 12 gold pieces he has remaining after buying supplies and throws it into the street while he keeps running and urges his comrades to do the same.

Was he able to shop this morning? He certainly intended to.

Male Firbolg NG Ranger 1 AC 14 HP 7/12 Passive Perception 15 Init +2 Proficency Bonus + 2 Current Picture of Orym

Orym pulls out his money and drops 55 gp on the ground as he runs.

Male Aasimar Warlock (Hexblade) 1, AC 18, HP 11/11, Passive Perception 14, Init +2

Nathaniel is pretty miserly, and figures there is enough coin scattered around for now, so he continues to run with the rest of the group.

Zeb you were not able to shop yet, you were on the way when you met the group and the dude
Everyone roll stealth checks with advantage as everyone sees the glinting gold on the ground (Especially Orym's bundle) and immediately rush towards it

M Human (Variant) Paladin (Oath of the Ancients)

Disadvantage from chain mail canceled out by advantage from crowd. This pally's still not very stealthy.

Stealth: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Phew, not bad. I'll take it.

Zeb motions to his companions to slip away into a side alley as he himself slinks over there.
