[ooc]Ouch, indeed. Didn't think that was quite so reckless a move.

I had said earlier "Just before the door is kicked open Kiya swallows a Shield extract.", though I never actually updated the AC and the plan changed slightly from then. Without Dex, I think that would mean he didn't confirm and I'd be down, but not almost dead. Your call.

Oh yeah, I did forget the shield. Sorry about that. So no crit but the sneak still applies. So without the second dice of xbow damage, it's 10 damage total.

Ford kicked as the door, grunting as he pulls his crowbar out and wedging it in between the doors, heaving his strength into the door. Sure, the side might have been easier... but it was crowded. And besides, who'd expect him to be coming through the front?

Not sure if this is right, but I'll just make a strength check and add +2 for the crowbar... I hope.

Strength Check: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 2 = 20

Yeah sorry about that Kiya. After you mentioned the shield extract I remember the post that you did it in. So yes, you're at 0.

@Ford: Yeah that's right. Crowbar is +2 to any str check to force open a door.

Ford slams the crowbar between the doors and begins to pull putting his weight into it. He can feel the door bowing and even cracking slightly, but the door holds.

Lem, you're still outside and not in combat. I moved you closer but even with a double move you can't get into melee at the moment.

The bandit facing off against Karasu, glances down at his bloodied armor before dropping his weapon and taking a step back to press against the stack of boxes.

"Alejia pays well, but not enough to pay for my life. I surrender."

The other bandit, scowls at his partner as he drops his crossbow before drawing a cutlass and slashing at Aetherys. "You coward, Brant. I'll feed you to a bunnyip myself when we're done."

Looting the 2 very much dead bandits and the one possibly alive bandit anyone going to do anything for the guy, he's bleeding out currently, you manage to round up the following:

remember anything taken during the scenario will disappear at the end of the scenario.

Loot:

masterwork studded leather armor x 3, masterwork cutlass x3, light crossbow x 3, crossbow bolt x 28, potion of cure light x 3, potion of invisibility x 3, tanglefoot bag x 3, thunderstone x 2, smokestick x 3, masterwork thieves' tools x 3

Also searching through some of the crates, you happen upon another body. This one, a human female, is breathing and stable but unconscious.

Most of the other crates contain spoiled food stuffs or goods that are beyond repair, but you do manage to find 3 acid flasks, a masterwork longsword, a box of 6 tar bombs, and a strange book, it's cover is written in what might be Azlanti. I'll find the info and post it a bit later.

Karasu, continues to search and pokes around the floor finding a secret compartment that the bandits had hidden a crate of ornate silk flags.

It can always come in handy at the right moment. The tar bombs are crude, but will be good if we want to fire the ship. "
"Same with the potions. Anyone who doesn't have a way to heal themselves should take one of the cures and let us know where it is. The invisibility ones might come in handy if we want to set an ambush."

"Only the flags look like the might be loot and most of the rest is useless. What were they doing here? Shall we wake the human and see if she knows?"

Sorry guys, my bad on the number of people. You should have only seen 4 people in the warehouse, not 5 (looked at the wrong section of the scenario).

@Aetherys: After searching through a few crates, you do find one that contains some salt, along with some other spices.

@Brox:
The street-facing door is still barred. You realize that the flags that were found could be used for the purpose in the letter sent to you.

@Lem:
Something about the book seems to stand out, but the language is unfamiliar.

Tar Bomb:

A tar bomb is an easy weapon to make, and devastating in use. A head-sized lump of tar is wrapped around a rope and set on fire. You use the rope to lob the burning tar onto an enemy’s deck, where it sticks and sets the ship alight. In many ways, a tar bomb functions as a less potent version of alchemist’s fire, as it deals less damage and lacks the splash damage of the more expensive substance. Treat this attack as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet. Lighting a tar bomb is a move action.

A hit with a tar bomb deals 1d4 points of fire damage and has the potential to set the struck object or creature on fire, causing an additional 1d6 points of fire damage each round unless the target or an adjacent creature makes a DC 15 Reflex save to extinguish the flames as a full-round action. Knocking the tar bomb or the burning creature or object into a body of water or magically extinguishing the flames automatically smothers the fire.

I assume we've already checked her for weapons and the like, as part of the main search? If not, do that first.

Kiya is right, the scholar you are looking to protect is male, and the one you found in the crate is female. And the woman has no weapons on her. It looks like the bandits have been keeping her tied up and unconscious for a bit now.

Hauling the woman out of the crate and sitting her someplace relatively comfortable, Kiya waves the small bottle of alchemical concoction under the woman's nose.

It takes a few moments, but slowly the woman begins to rouse. She moans lowly before slowly opening her eyes. She blinks several times before they seem to focus in on all of you. Once they do, she jerks back, pressing her back against a crate.

"Who, " she tries to talk, but begins to cough. After her small coughing fit she continues. "Who are you? Where are the bandits? Where am I?"
