Arnthoth Koortuskson |
Eh, yeah. I didn't think I was up again. I even double checked a couple days ago, but though Arn had already had jis turn this round. Sorry.
Arnthoth moves into the room, past Oswin and swings at Charito.
Raging Power Attack: 1d20 + 17 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 17 - 3 = 31
Vital Strike: 2d12 + 13 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 13 + 9 = 29
Elemental Rage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
On spring break with the fam, and can't edit the map. Arn would move to NE of Oswin.
Oswin Durhelm |
If Arnthoth's attack leaves their foe standing, he will swing his sword in both hands twice, no power attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

You don't find anything of consequence on Charito, but some gold.
You all heal up (any other buffs you need because you are sure Charito, being the missing Pathfinder, wasn't in charge around here) and gather around the double doors in the room that Julian, Tal, Arn, and Awv were kept in, as it has other door than the one you were brought in, whereas the room Shandor and Oswin were taken into does not.
When you enter into the Inner Sanctum, there are ornate tapestries that line the walls and almost entirely disguise the rough stonework of the foundry. You see many sarcophagi lining the walls, they are covered in blankets and pillows and serve as divans.
There is an altar and a seven-foot-tall statue of a six-winged, snake bodied woman in the room's west end. There are also four humanoid creatures ready for you in front of the doors, all appearing to be the same very pale and pallid look as the vampires you just killed, three are wearing the plain cultists robes.
Perceptions
Shandor: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Awveyen: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Arnthoth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Carefull there is a woman above ready to attack!

Everyone please hold until the icons are on the map. I'll cast a big area of effect damage spell, and you don't want to stand in there at that time.
Oswin Durhelm |
Also, I would cast Blessing if Fervor immediately prior to opening the door. When home I'll link to the effects if need be.

Shandor "The Beast" |
I could place the cultists for you, but then they would all end up within the blast area of my dragon's breath. ;)
As an unrelated note, please kindly remember that Shandor has see invisibility still active (if it matters at all).
Shandor "The Beast" |
Holding his staff with both hands, Shandor conjures flames that emanate from his sheer wrath, focused though his tattoos and staff. A small bead of fire is propelled in the midst of the vampires, exploding throughout the whole room in a searing blast.
"Thassilon rises! Lissala can bow down to the might of Xin-Bakhrakan!"
Casting fireball, using the Staff of the Master to spontaneously add the dazing spell metamagic feat to it without increasing the level of the spell cast (but at the cost of 3 charges from the staff, and using the Acrimony Veil to add empower spell to it.
Ref DC 21 halves the damage. Those who fail the save are also dazed for three rounds.
Fire damage: 10d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 6, 6, 2, 6, 1, 3, 2) + 10 = 50 *1.5 = 75 damage
Please let me know if I have to make checks against SR.
Acrimony Veil
Aura moderate evocation; CL 9th
Slot head; Weight 1 lb.; Price 13,500 gp
DESCRIPTION
Acrimony veils are rare ancient magic devices created by Alaznist, the Runelord of Wrath. They are normally composed of several types of interconnected metal and human bones, each etched with complex designs. The device covers the wearer’s entire face (forehead, cheeks, and jaw), but provides no benefit to AC. This mask functions as a lesser empower metamagic rod, but only affecting spells of the evocation school. Additionally, the wearer of an acrimony veil may cast rage on himself once per day.
CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, Empower Spell, rage; Cost 6,750 gp
Source #4-02 In Wrath's Shadow
I rest my case.

I could have sworn someone told me that you were going to need 6 for this scenario, and that it was brutal. It almost looks like Shandor can solo the whole thing.
No spell resist for these guys.
Cultist1 Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Cultist2 Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Cultist3 Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Ilan Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Milena Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
So, 4 of the 5 fall down dead. Milena is the only one still standing.
Awveyen, it is your turn. She's still on the ceiling.

Assuming combat is over.
"Are these coffins? We should destroy them, in case more of those fang-bearers are inside." suggests Shandor.

Following his own counsel, Shandor casts burning arc, sending an arc of flames to spring from one coffin to the other. As his magic comes to life, the rage contained within the elderly orc seems to slowly fade, replaced by clarity.
"I imagine they had a prayer book or something. A holy text or tome of rituals perhaps? Let's search for information pertaining to this cult."

The statue of Lissala turns out to be plaster covered in gold paint, but around her neck is a medallion of thoughts. A chest behind the statue preserves the cult’s documents: ancient tomes and recent correspondence, including a letter from the de facto high priestess of Lissala planning to bring Runelord Krune back to Varisia, as well as 1,200 gp worth of gems, coins, and jewelry.
With your defeat of Milena Talich and Ilan Kosta, any remaining Feasters of the Heart disband, and the dominated humans who made up much of its membership return to their normal lives.
You return what information you gained to Sheila Heidmarch, who in turn shares it with the Decemvirate. From this, especially the correspondence
between Ilan Kosta and the mysterious Vandiana, the Pathfinder Society learns that the cult of Lissala today is largely decentralized but that its branches are in the process of unifying behind one ultimate goal: the
resurrection of Runelord Krune, the last high priest of Lissala before Earthfall. With this information, the Pathfinder Society can begin finding out when and how Krune will be resurrected, and how to stop his return.
Anyone need to level or buy anything before Feast of Sigils starts?
Chronicles will post in Discussion this afternoon.
Shandor "The Beast" |
I need to level up, and will probably make purchases.
