The locals have dubbed the Village 'Hell'. It's still in the process of being rebuilt, although with Harry's place turning out nails (burning through cheap steel) and cranking out wood (People will need to start bringing in chopped down trees for them to process) it's moving forward.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
I was hoping for Deadwood, but Hell is cool. Reading through my alchemical stuff. I can supply concrete too.
mdt |
You have 4 months, it'll take that long to rebuild the village.
The amount of time it takes to retrain depends on what you are retraining. It's in the downtime rules.
Sorry all, slammed at work today.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
ok so retraining adept from expert= 3 levels *3 days
Learning new spells...not sure but lets say a week for the lot.
so training for 16 days leave a lot of free time
lets say 2 weeks for playground and helping in the village.
Luna/Paul/Harry
for the last 3 months, do you want to do a thorough mapping of the area within the demon wall as a group?

I'm slammed at work this week, sorry folks. It would help me tremendously if everyone could do a 'recap' post with all their requests on what they were asking about, doing, during the 4 weeks. Otherwise I might miss answering something. I'll try to get those up tonight.
mdt |
This has been a long week everyone, sorry. I'm setting aside time on Saturday to try to kick everything down the road again in all my games. So expect multiple posts then. Been trying to do a quick response here and there as I can.

There you go.
Ok, information on the gods and their magic/structure is in the gameplay info tab. Please note that you are getting a all of this from the villagers.
Sterling and Paul can find nothing in the libraries about any of these three gods. And nothing they can find matches the world, other than very old maps. It's as if something cataclysmic happened, and was never recorded.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
its far less satisfying posting this in the discussion thread, but beggars can't be choosers
You talks about empathy and friendship, but I ask a simple question and you throw a temper tantrum and try to murder me. Maybe you should have stole Jesus Christ instead you self righteous mother f#cker.

bears might be considered omnivores though... in which case, they'd be unchanged. tigers would make cool mounts...
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
Would tigers be large enough? Wouldn't the animal need to be close to horse size?
mdt |
Koala Bears and Panda Bears are Herbivores.
Brown and Black bears (inluding Grizzlies) are omnivores.
Polar bears are Carnivores.
So no, bears aren't phasewarped. The one you saw get eaten by the squirrels would have happily eaten the squirrels if it handnt' been swarmed.
Tigers are a bit hard to ride due to size. A dire tiger, if you could find one, would be ridable.
Elk, Horses, Moose, and Aurochs are all ridable. Dire-boars are ridable (just as they've always been, omnivores, so no phasewarp template).
The woods are temperate cool, so you could expect to find the following animals :
Dire Boar, Dire Tiger, Dire Wolf, Dire Wolverine, Giant Elk, Megaloceros, Moose... in addition to the horses you saw earlier.
If you were really desperate, you could try to tame some of the Giant Black Widow Spider's in the woods.
mdt |
Just realized I've forgotten to answer one of Sterling's questions about 3 times now.
The villagers have no idea how to get into the church. That is, they've never had any issues getting in, so they aren't sure how come you couldn't get in.
mdt |
You can re-learn Alchemist if you like. You just don't get the weapon or the armor or the mythic stuff. You can also pick up any class the others have.
Or you can try to make nice to the gem, or try to acquire another gem who's more compatible with your personality.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
so no mythic without a gem? How about gestalting 2 PC classes like firghter and wizard?
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
One or the other would have hurt, but both really sucks the big one. I'd be more of a burden to the group than a help.
I'll need to figure out some gymnastics to eat another gem. lol. all because I said captain obvious
mdt |
Less so the single statement Sterling, than the constant insults of the voice over time, combined with a single careless statement when the entity was in mourning. You've not been very nice toward it... Plus it can read your thoughts...
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
well, yeah. again it was tounge and cheek. But I always thought it was odd that such powerful beings, especially the old testament God, were so insecure. But then again the stories say more about the people of that time, than they do gods.

Can you repost the available reliefs. Maybe to speed things along, if Luna and her gem would help...whittle down the possibilities to CHA or INT based classes?
I don't want to take too much time away from the other's RP time.
mdt |
Luna won't be able to help I'm afraid. Whether she explains why or not is up to her.
Reliefs, in no particular order.
A warrior in a set of half-plate, the armor is wickedly spiked. He holds a spiked chain with bits of flesh and bones hanging from the spikes. He stands atop a pile of gory bodies. Behind him stands a round stone with swirls that never seem to end. A swirling black onyx rests in the chestpiece of his armor.
A slim man in a breastplate that has wave patterns on it’s chest plate. In the center is a triangular blue gem. He holds a harpoon in one hand, and a coil of rope leading to it in the other hand. Behind him is a coral edifice with sharks swimming around it. He has a forbidding look on his face.
A woman in hard armor stands amongst trees, a bow in one hand, looking out. On her brow is a circlet with an oval green gem. In the background is a giant tree rising above the trees she is standing in. Forest animals peak out from hidden locations, as do lizards and geckos. Her hair is long, but tied back. Her face is stern looking, but there’s a hint of amusement on her face, especially where her lip curls ever so much.
A woman in full plate sits astride a unicorn, a pair of short blades in her hands. She wears an ornate set of armor, and a helmet rides her head. On her brow is an octagonal clear gem. Behind her is a fortress with tall walls and regular crenelations.
A woman holding a short staff and wearing cloth wrapped armor stands on a building top. Her face is obscured by a mask. On her brow rests a pyramidal black stone that seems to absorb the light around it. Within the relief can be seen dozens of scorpions of various sizes.
A heavy browed man wearing a animal hides upon his body, which is massive enough that it takes a several hides to cover it. A wolf’s head sit’s atop his head.. A large round moonstone is centered where the wolf’s eyes should be, the head of which forms the man’s helmet. He holds a lucern hammer in both hands, and seems to be growling at the viewer. Behind him, a round white tower juts up from the stony ground.
A long haired woman in scale mail armor, with an oversized sword on her hip. She has a wry smile on her face that’s only visible due to the visor on her helmet being opened. Behind her stands a round tower with what looks like winds blowing around it. Centered in her armor is a round blue gem. Birds fly overhead, and an eagle is perched on the tower, looking over her from above.
A woman stands on one foot, the other leg bent and raised up so the heel rests against her inner thigh. She wears a flowing silk garment and holds metal fans in each hand. Her face is serene, and on her forehead rests a yellow gemstone. Behind her a simple wooden building with a sun motif on it.
A man with scars on his face, a heavily recurved long bow. His leather armor is studded with what looks like bone chunks. From his waist hang severed human heads. Behind him, a camouflaged wooden building can barely be seen. Feline eyes peak out from shadows around the building.
A man in a silk robe with a metal plate strapped over his stomach looks out from the relief. He smiles with a friendly easy smile, his long hair tied back in a pony tail. A strange multi-segmented sword hangs from his waist, and a dog with small packs on it’s back stands next to him. In his ring is a large oval orange gem. Behind him is a wagon with cargo on top, and an enclosed living area.
A woman in abreviated eastern style armor stands, strutting with a grin on her face. A large boomerang sits on her back, and a rune sits on her forehead. Next to her is some sort of creature, but it’s draped in shadows, its features murky. The same rune is drawn on it’s head. It’s single visible eye is an oval white gem bursting with deep colors inside. Behind the duo a tower with flowing arches can be seen.

BTW: If anyone is not happy with their initial gem choices, now that they have time to think about it, now is the best chance you have to change gems.
Luna : Your occupant would resist, and tell you it is because you have absorbed sufficient essence that if he were to leave you, without the gem, the essence you got from the scythe might kill you. Up to you whether you believe that or not.
Harry : Your occupant would exit quietly if asked to.
Paul : Your occupant would exit quietly if asked to, but would be unhappy about it.
Luna R. |
it's okay, while intrigued by the masked female with a short staff who seems to be absorbing light (assuming 'ninja'?), I am guessing that if Luna had wanted it bad enough, it would have been her initial choice. She's content with her current choice of voice and class. Besides, she's even more afraid the essence from the scythe might take over and she doesn't really want Kong's abilities or power.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
I reccomend you guys get some mounts from the following:
Dire Boar, Dire Tiger, Dire Wolf, Dire Wolverine, Giant Elk, Megaloceros, Moose... in addition to the horses you saw earlier.
and train them. I'll be spending alot of time rebuilding, and it would be something to do, plus you'd have some cool mounts. The Megaloceros is my personal favorite.
Luna R. |
Would mean tracking/trapping or some such and not exactly Luna's forte. But she'd be willing to learn to ride if someone could catch and 'break' a mount for her.
Harry Hudson |
Not exactly sure who has the skill to do that. Harry doesn't have animal handling as a skill choice. His idea of animal handling was butchering after shooting.
Paul H. |
I am fine with my choice.
I'm surprised you didn't want to try to go ranger Harry. It seems to fit a little more with what you've been doing, unless you're planning on tanking more.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
I finished except for eidolon evolutions.
I picked up Animal Handle. I also kept the alchemy skill, and if ok the portable alchemy kit
So I will be able to break the animals, If you guys can help catch them.

Can you give me the all the bells and whistles of the new compound, And I will do a thorough search of the compound(take 20) to find all the goodies.
mdt |
The tower has a distinct orient feel to it. The interior is filled with silk wall tapestries, large brass gongs, carved wooden rests, and bamboo walls with rice paper partitions.
Once awakened, Foo animals roam the halls, guarding it from intrusion. The foo animals seem to be disturbed by Sterling's presence, but they don't chase him out. He get's the feeling they are having some trouble with him in some way he can't quite fathom. Alignment issue
There are no people, only the foo animals, but they seem to understand when spoken to, although none of them speak.
The building itself can generate ritual summoning materials, and has a room at the top dedicated to summoning creatures, protective wards, etc.
Oddly enough, the runes that had been growing in on Sterling's skin are back, although now they have an eastern shape instead of the nordic shape they had before.
There is a small library of books on the second to highest floor that deals with planar creatures. Sterling finds that the animals in the compound are Foo animals, and are good aligned protective spirits inhabiting animals.
In a first, these creatures can leave this compound, and indeed are often seen walking around the compounds.
After the first week, a half dozen station themselves around the village to chase off dangerous creatures.
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
I also decided to get the path ability:
Crafting Mastery (Ex)
You can craft any magic item as if you had the necessary item creation feats. If you actually have the item creation feat needed for a magic item you're crafting, whenever you attempt a skill check to create that item, roll twice and use the higher result, and you make twice as much progress on the item for any time spent. This ability does not reduce the item's cost or any other requirements.
So I can start making potions and a feww Items I have levels for
We can have a set of Ivis potions and CLW potions or wands, with the help of Luna, and Paul's spells
Sterling "lumpy" Lumpkin |
Foo animals chasing off the dangerous ones around the Village? thats cool.
Let me know when the timelines sync up with eachother, and I'll start posting again.

It'll take a week for everyone to trek back to the cave with Sterling, after their meeting (and his drunken stupor in Hell).
Then it'll take another week of Sterling exploring his new home.
Needless to say, Sterling's previous residence returns back to the broken hovel it was when he left. The books collapsing back into dust.
