It wouldn't be possible, unless you wanted to go under the platform but the you couldnt attack until next round.

Round Six:

With a flick of her wrist, Liu Na's other fighting fan drops into her hand and snaps open. Flashing her fans in a hypnotic pattern, the half-elf ninja takes a step closer to the goblin chief so that he can't effectively bring his spear to bear.

Swift action to retrieve second fighting fan from spring-loaded wrist sheath. 5 ft step inside the reach of the goblin chief's spear (can't be used against adjacent foe). Standard action to feint against the goblin chief - Bluff check DC 10 + chief's BAB + chief's Wis modifier; if successful, goblin chief is denied Dex bonus to AC against my next melee attack (and susceptible to sneak attack).

Liu Na steps in close to the goblin chief again, her fans still weaving in a hypnotic pattern as she slashes one of her weapons toward the creature's throat.

5 ft step inside the reach of the goblin chief's spear. Standard action to attack goblin chief while fighting defensively - note, goblin chief is denied Dex bonus to AC due to Liu Na's feint last round and is susceptible to sneak attack.

"We're all pretty banged up," Liu Na observes. "Let's take anything of value from these goblins - including their ears and the goblin chief's head - and find a place to hole up and rest and heal."

Takeshi regains consciousness and blinks at his surroundings. "Well that didn't go quite as expected. Thank you Lina."

He stands and looks around before moving to retrieve his katana. "Rest sounds good."

Rising from the ground, her clothes soaked in her own blood, Kalistrine looks a horror. Her face is pale, having lost a quantity of that blood, and though her wounds are closed, she still feels weakened. If you look her in the face, her scars are faded but visible now as dark lines against her skin. Her expression is one of simmering anger and she goes about harvesting the grim trophies from the Goblins with added savagery, seeming to take pleasure in mutilating their bodies. When she has finished, she sits down on the ground heavily, drained physically and emotionally. "Sleep. Yeah. And food. I'll eat anything you want to serve me Jorland." she says. She lets the others attend to the search for a few minutes before she gets up to join in, tossing the Goblins' furniture and belongings aside in search of anything valuable or useful.

Seeing her two fallen companions revived, Lina leans back to sit on the ground, oblivious of her bloody hands and clothing and manages a weak smile. "I don't know how we made it through that alive, but I'm spent too. At least I don't think I could manage any more healing today without some rest." She pauses as she considers for a moment. "Thank Desna for your life today. She's the reason you live - certainly not through any skill of my own."

I look around at the carnage. "A fine mess of a scrap this was. I feel much stronger for it. How bout I pull out some of my finer supply of salted pork. I can cook it up using my homeland mead and we can celebrate a well deserved victory."

I begin to set up cooking supplies and pull out the pork rations and begin to prepare dinner.

Off of the dead goblin chief, you find a mwk composite longbow with 5 regular arrows and 5 arrows that look a bit different, 2 potions, skyrocket fireworks, and a chain shirt. Off of the Goblin Lt. you find a mwk battleaxe, a jar of flies, a pouch of something, and a hide armor from a serpent. Of the others you find 50 gp, 20 sp, and 3 cp, a necklace of Elfen ears and a toad's foot. Tell me when and which houses you want to search

Kalistrine heads for the Chief's hut after looking in disappointment at the undersized weapons and armor of the Goblins. "At least they'll fetch a good price." she mutters. She dismantles the insides of the Chief's hut searching for anything useful or valuable.

Take 20 on the search.

Liu Na keeps a sharp eye out for any more goblins, ready to brandish the chief's head toward any of the little vermin that dare to show their faces.

A search of the house reveals a throne room whose walls are decorated with numerous dog and horse head along with other trophies like broken weapons and jars filled with pickled rabbits, otters, and beavers and other bits of ephemera. The chief's throne room consists of a rickety 5 foot high chair with a ladder. Another room looks to be a bedroom through the door to the east. The bed is little more than a big, nasty pile of ratty blankets, moss, and foul-smelling animal furs. Another door in the bedroom leads to another room that is mostly empty except for a single dirty, red chest and a few scraps (the remains of a couple burnt-out fireworks, a couple broken arrows, etc.). You get the impression this room once held a lot more, but it's been cleared out.

So do you want to open the chest?

These pbp thingys are a bit quirky, sometimes i get notified other times not..

Liu opens the dirty red chest and no trap is sprung. Inside the chest lies the remaining treasure of the Licktoad tribe: 329 sp and 112 gp in loose coins, a long hairpin with a red pearl at one end, and a gold-and-ivory fan depicting a gecko walking amid cherry blossoms. Upon the fan a crude map has been painted on the reverse side. The map is rather messy, but those familiar with the area can decipher it.

Proudstump walks over to Kalistrine and takes a look at the fan and says,

Aha, well thats a might crude but that looks like a map of two shipwrecks and a cave... hmm I know where these places be... One is rather close, the other two we should prolly see Old Megus, she done got a row boat and its be easier to get there that way... I do suggest we sleep here though and we can either go to the close Shipwreck first light or to Megus'

I look towards the hut from the fire where I am cooking. "Whatcha findin in dere? Dinner's almost ready. Need some spices though, Liu er Takeshi, can ye look round fer some basil or rosemary? Maybe some Tyhme or dillweed. I'll work with wat ye find."

"What are we tromping around the swamp for? We got what we came for, right?" Kalistrine asks, patting the bag of ears. She starts piling the other treasure into a sack. She rises and starts to head for the cook fire.

"I promised Mistress Mvashti we'd deliver a letter to her friend Megus," Liu Na responds to Kalistrine's question. "We might as well do that while we're out here - after we take a rest, of course."

"Didn't find any spices, J," Liu replies to Jorland. "But we did find some coin and a pretty hairpin that might make a nice present for Ameiko if you're interested. Plus a fancy fan with a map on it; Walthus says it shows the locations of two shipwrecks and a cave here in the swamp."

If there are no more goblins threatening us, I'm okay with resting here.

I look at the hairpin. "It is kinda pretty. Ye right, it look good on Amy. If ye don't mind I'd like ta give it to her."

Lina finally gets up, feeling light-headed and overwhelmed from the fight. She looks down at her starknife still coated in blood and walks towards the group. "Uh, Kali? Can you show me how to clean this? I've never really..." She looks at once uneasy, fatigued, and embarrassed.

Kalistrine nods. "Yeah. Forgot about that." she says as she sits by the fire and starts to wolf down her food. Periodically she rubs her forehead.

Ugh. I didn't get hit in the head but it feels like I did.

"Hey, Walthus, what's with this cave and the shipwrecks anyway? Why were the Goblins so interested in 'em?" she asks between mouthfulls.

Walthus looks at Kalistrine and says It be interestin' to see. I remember a cannabalistic goby was at the one closest here but I dont speak me any goblin so I's don't know....

"What kind of watch to we want to set while we rest?" Liu asks as she enjoys the meal that Jorland prepared.

"What's most interesting is that the map is on a fan. Not something I would have expected to find hereabouts except at home."

"I'll need a full period of rest and then time to study my arcane symbology. I can take first or last watch, although I must say I'm not sure I'm the best person for such a task. Perhaps if we double up."

Kalistrine has finished her food by now and is eyeing anything left.

"I don't think we're in any hurry now. We can all double up on watches and get plenty if rest tonight." she says.

"I take last, don't see so good in dark. I also would like ta explore the area in dis marsh somore. Less do dat afta we visit dis person. Who knows what we'd find."

Lina continues to look embarrased. "I uh...I'm really exhausted. I'm honestly not sure I could stay awake for a watch." Oh gods, they're all gonna hate me for not pulling my own weight.

"Don't worry about it, Lina. You've been working as our healer and keeping us all alive - on top of killing your own share of goblins. You need your rest," Liu Na says, giving the oracle a comforting smile.

Lina smiles weakly at the half-elf. "Thanks. I can't say I ever imagined I'd be out in the woods killing goblins. This is all still a little surreal to me." She reaches forward to fill her bowl and starts eating. She's not sure if it's because she's tired, or really hungry, but it tastes amazing and she wolfs it down quickly, with a nod of thanks to the cook.

I sit up a look at Lina. I then kowtow to here in the Dragon Empires fashion. "Ye have indeed been more help dan Aye ferst pegged ye fer. I'd like ta apologize for my rude assumptions an behavier towards ye. Can ya fergive me?" I hold posture awaiting Lina's response.

Lina looks surprised. "Forgive you? I...of course! You're all so much more experienced than I am. All I've ever done in my life is wait tables and wash dishes. I'm sure I'm as surprised as any of you, especially now that I'm half blind. I'm....I'm glad I'm able to help, is all."
