I am proposing you a new PFS scenario either in Core or Normal mode as per player preferences.
The chosen adventure will be #0-06 Black Waters. The Pathfinder Society seeks the ancient ruby ring of the salamander and it falls to a team of Pathfinders to find it. Last seen in the Tri-Towers Yard, a once elite academy for the youth of Absalom, the ruby ring is now lost in the Drownyard, all that remains of Tri-Towers after it was destroyed a decade ago in the great quake. The Pathfinders must risk the strange black ichors and salty brine to find their prize—will they risk their very souls as well?
What I will be expecting?
Character builds: Whatever fitting PFS rules. You can propose two characters, a Normal Campaign and a Core one, if you don't mind playing either mode.
Posting frequency: 2 times per day
Playing style: Fast pace with capacity to RP (I want fluid combats with characters that have paid a minimum observance to a background and make an effort for party interaction). I have preference for players that make an effort to perform their characters, rather than just stats beasts. I like the strategy layer of combat, and will help you out if you have difficulties with the rules on that sense.
Timespan: Account the game will take around 3 and 6 weeks, depending on players responsiveness.
Party size: 5 or 6 for upper tier [4-5], 4 or 5 for lower tier [1-2]
Pregens: I will accept pregens, but will give priority other characters.
GMing style: I make passive rolls, as Perception, Initiative or Saves. GM bots and delay if only one player is missing to act will be frequent.
Mapping tools: You are expected to have access to view (and preferably edit) google docs maps.
Player responsiveness: I expect you to have initiative as a player, pushing the game to explore and interact, not just reacting to the GM initiative rolling and direct questions for what next.
Just provide a couple ideas of possible characters (one Core and one Normal) you will like to play with (class, race and level are enough). I will check your previous gaming experience and take into account party balance when selecting who is going in.
People who has GMed me (past or present) will have priority. I will reserve at least 1 spot for someone with little or no previous PbP experience, so take this as a great opportunity to get experience in PbP roleplaying.
I plan to start the game once I have at least 4 players I am satisfied with, but not earlier than Wednesday 18.
Good luck everyone!

I'm interested in low tier, non-Core. I will play a rogue, 1st level, not a pre-gen.
I've played a lot of PbP PFS. I have about 5 characters and I am going to try and play a straight rogue from 1-12 and blog the experience to see if it matches up with forum lore about rogues sucking.
I will create the character after the party is complete. I already have the build all worked out.
thanks.

Core rogue, Demario Whistler, reporting for duty to join Lionel and hopefully Ari-Ani. I think we might have sneaky fun together.
Otherwise non-core I have a level 2 elf cleric I can throw in the mix or a level 1 Aasimar wizard.
Ari-Ani will be playing non-Core. I want to experience the old-school rogue next to all the new and shiny classes.

Throwing Wiles into the fire. He has a We Be Goblins credit, otherwise he's brand new. If you decide Core, then I'll probably go two-hand ranger, non-Core I will likely go inquisitor.
Be aware Wiles is reported as a Core character. If you want to play a Core character you will need to create a new one with the Core Character button.
Current candidates:
Core game
Lionel, Human Cleric 1
Wiles, Ranger 1 [Normal]
Gilthanis (Demario), Gnome Rogue 1
Althera, Human Sorceror 1
Normal game
Bevek Verdade, Human Rogue 2/Inquisitor 1
Ari-Ani, Elf Rogue 1
Lionel, Human Paladin (archer) 1 [Core]
Wiles, Inquisitor 1
Gilthanis, Elf Cleric 2 or Aasimar Wizard 1 [Core]
Leb, Alquemist (I have to say I never pick alchemists and gungslingers if I have other willing players, sorry)
So far it seems quite on a draw between Core and Normal Campaign. It is clearly pushing towards Tier 1-2 one way or the other.

Doh! Realized this yesterday. I'll be happy to create a CORE character, if that's the way it leans.

Interested in that core game. I've game mastered this scenario maybe 7 times, so if that is seen as a problem I'll bow out.
There is no problem as long as you know how to manage it.
Current candidates:
Core game
Lionel, Human Cleric 1
Wiles, Ranger 1 [Normal]
Gilthanis (Demario), Gnome Rogue 1
Althera, Human Sorceror 1
Nigel, Gnome Sorcerer (aberrant) 1
Deussu, Halfling Fighter 1
Normal game
Bevek Verdade, Human Rogue 2/Inquisitor 1
Ari-Ani, Elf Rogue 1
Lionel, Human Paladin (archer) 1 [Core]
Wiles, Inquisitor 1
Gilthanis, Elf Cleric 2 or Aasimar Wizard 1 [Core]
Billin, halfling barbarian 1/oracle 1 or dwarf cleric 2
I will make the final choice late tonight.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Deussu here, this will be my character. I made a small change, converting fighter to ranger. I lose precise shot but get a lot more skill points.
And of course, I won't give out any out-of-character information about the scenario. In a PbP environment it actually becomes easier as one is less prone to blurt out metaknowledge by accident.

Given there are 5 people that wants Core vs 4 that wants Normal, and provided I recently GMed Lionel, Demario and Nigel and we had a good experience together, I will go with the Core game.
Please, Lionel, Wiles, Demario, Althera, Nigel and Deussu, continue to the discussion thread.
Sorry for the ones that did not make it but I could not take everybody.
This is a 4 party scenario and we have 6 players. Thus, drops will not be covered. No reserve is needed.
RECRUITMENT IS CLOSED
